  1. If you're looking for a Pyrex tank without a metal sleeve, all the Kanger pro-tanks will fit the bill. If you want a stainless *unbreakable* tank, then you'll want one of the Kanger Aerotank Mega or minis... they have a glass and SS tank in the package. Grailhunter brought up a good and inexpensive tank, which is the EVOD2 Glass... it has a SS sheath which protects the glass inner tank fairly well. As for $350 in juice for 2 people... nope, not insane at all... my last "personal" purchase was $180, and I didn't get all I WANTED, lol
  2. The AeroTank, AT Mega, AT mini, PT3, PT3 Mini, Evod2, and T3'D all use the same coil... dual-coil... These coils are the updated version of the dual-coil, with a solid-sleeve which contains the coil and wick. There are apparently two holes on each side for e-juice to enter the chamber where the coil/wick are housed.
  3. Ahhh, my 1.5 Ohm DUAL coils arrived today! Now I don't have to panic over being down to my last 3
  4. Higher pg percentages will give a harsh throat hit, and grailhunter is correct in that the EVOD will be far more effective at producing a vapor than your BLU's did.... totally different Voltage, Wattage, and coil (both in resistance and design). I'm guessing you're using a 80/20 pg/vg ratio, or possibly even higher... Nicotine (or Menthol) may be a factor as well, although it sounds more like your issue is pg. Now that you have a "better" system... I'd try juices in the 70/30 range, and the EVOD coils wick 50/50 juices fairly well as long as you give it a few seconds between hits, lol. I think you'll be more pleased with the throat-hit if you use a juice with a lower pg%.
  5. I've not tried the Speyside yet, but keep meaning to pick up a bottle. I guess I'll have to give it a try this weekend?
  6. Bowmore Legend is a pretty good "cheaper" single-malt... a good mossy overtoned Islay, IMO for <$30. McClelland's Highland or Islay are very good, yet different tastes. The Islay is a more earthy tone with hints of peat/moss and oak, but I find the finish a tad bit bitter (Bowmore is better in the finish). Now, the Highlands is more sweet/fruity/flowery, but IMO has a better finish... smoother, sweeter, no "sting", and much better for sipping! Both of the McClelland's are in the $20-25 range, and sometimes cheaper in the big discount-stores. Granted, the ones I listed are no comparison to Glenfiddich or Macallan, but they are far better than blended labels of twice their price... and definitely better than Chivas or Johnny Walker (which tastes horribly bland compared to even a mediocre single-malt Scotch Whiskey)! Of course, if you're looking to save cash over imported Scotch, and want a really good US whiskey... you can't go wrong with Kentucky Bourbon! -- No, Jack Daniels is NOT a Bourbon, despite the fact they wanna be, lol -- I'm from KY, and have tried them all, and you can't go wrong with (my personal favorite) Wild Turkey 101 (much better than 80 proof)... And the other good ones IMO are Jim Beam (black label is best), Buffalo Trace (Reserve bottles are top-notch), and Maker's Mark (my least favorite... tastes too watery and sweet).
  7. Love my Scotch... single-malt is best, IMO. You gotta find what you like best, whether it be $20/bottle of $120/bottle Personally I do love Macallan 18-yr old! Scotch, like Bourbon (or any whiskey) stops aging once it comes out of the barrel... so if it says 12 yrs old and was bottled in 2000, it's still just 12-yr old Scotch
  8. Mixing in that ratio will lower your nic to a bit over 11mg. Will it make much difference to you? Only you will be able to tell, but it will be a lower nic level because you're cutting it with a 3mg level.
  9. You're welcome! They're a really good starter, and since the tanks have replaceable coils, you should get good use out of them. The batteries also accept other tanks as well, either eGo threaded or 510 threaded. Enjoy!
  10. I've tried 1.5 and 2.0's in my AeroTanks, using my MVP... I find no difference in them as far as vapor or flavor, but the 1.5's wear down the battery slower, because I tend to use the same wattage level for either coil. On a static battery like an eGo, if the 1.5's are too warm for you, you can reduce the Wattage by increasing the resistance (using a 2.0), thus giving you a cooler vape (at a lower wattage).
  11. Yeah, these are duals... but only a matter of time before they switch to this style for single-coils... anybody want to take bets on when? I'd love to get my hands on one of these to take it apart and see how much more difficult it would be to rebuild it...
  12. Smokes, nope, never... not even when carrying a couple of cartons out of the country... but a lighter I forgot about in my backpack once was confiscated... and my reward for trying to "sneak one by" was a good grope from TSA
  13. I've bought 4 eGo batteries, two from local B&M, and two from online (not Fastech). Sadly, the two "fakes" were bought from the local B&M, and obviously, I paid more for each of the 950mAh batteries than I did for the pair of 1100mAh (only to add insult to my injury)
  14. Gotta love the double-speak I think I'd be leaning towards "fakes" too...
  15. While temperature does have an effect on how the body absorbs anything, temperature of the vapor will have an effect, but less on the absorption rate, more on the delivery (volume). All things being equal, more vapor equates to more nicotine potentially aerosolized. The coil vaporizes the pg/vg/water to create a vapor-carrier to deliver nicotine in microscopic droplets (think, near-molecular-level). What determines absorption, once you inhale, is not the temperature, but rather the surface-area (mouth/throat/lungs) contacted by the vapor. A mouth-puff (not inhaled) will not deliver the same volume as a straight-draw-lung-hit. The longer you "hold" the hit also will increase the potential for full-absorbtion. Also, a "cold" hit which produces very little vapor will deliver less nicotine to the body than a "visible" vapor will. From the study I listed above, they were dealing with a tiny transdermal patch, delivering across 2.5 sq-in of skin. Vaporizing the nicotine produces a large dispersal of nicotine throughout the volume vapor, thus providing more potential for a larger surface-area to absorb it. Once nicotine is contained in the vapor, the body readily absorbs it. Heat has far less effect in this case, because you have increased the surface-area exponentially, and the membranes of your mouth/throat/lungs more readily absorb the nicotine for blood-delivery than does the tougher barrier of exterior skin! This is why vaping is so effective at nicotine delivery. The mechanism is similar to smoking...
  16. Nicotine absorption through the skin (via transdermal patch) is affected by heat. If the patch is warmed more than body-temperature, the rate of absorption through the skin is significantly increased during the first 30-minutes of wearing, due to heating prior to or during topical application of the patch to facilitate skin penetration, increase kinetic energy, and facilitate drug absorption. - Int J Physiol Pathophysiol Pharmacol. Sep 30, 2011. Nicotine being vaporized for inhalation is not significantly affected by "more" heat, except in the event that the nicotine % is high enough to allow for combustion as heating reaches the flash-point of the nicotine. Yes, nicotine is combustible! The body absorbs the vaporized / aerosolized nicotine via mouth, throat, and lungs, regardless of the temperature of the vapor. Heat affects the volume of vapor production (from the pg/vg/water content ratio), more-so than the % of nicotine. The pg/vg/water is the carrier / transfer-mechanism to deliver the nicotine.
  17. A good starter "kit" would be the Kanger EVOD kit (IMO)... it comes with two batteries, two clearomizers, a few spare coil-heads, and a charger. The batteries come in three basic sizes (capacity), 650mAh, 900/950mAh, and 1100+mAh. The larger the mAh capacity, the longer you can vape on it before recharging, but they also cost more. The clearomizers that come with the kit are refillable, hold 1.6-1.8ml of juice (roughly), and have a replaceable bottom-coil, so they are not disposable (unless you break them, of course). You can get the kits online for ~$25, on the low-side, and your local Brick & Mortar stores may carry them as well... or another brand, like Vision, JoyeTech, or Innokin (just to name a few reliable brands). Any of the ones mentioned above will get you started, and you can use any e-juice you like, or even the one you've been using to refill your BLU cigalikes. Welcome to VT! And congrats on kicking analogs!
  18. If you want a reliable kit for a decent price, check out the Kanger EVOD kits... two batteries, two cartomizers and a charger for around $25
  19. I'm wondering if you've gotten a Nautilus with bad threads or if you have a knock-off? Generally, the genuine products are much tighter on their tolerances and quality, but no product is 100% perfect 100% of the time. A knock-off would be more likely to have iffy threading, just my $0.02
  20. My daughter turns 22 in a few days, and no matter where she is, how rich, poor, happy, or sad... she'll ALWAYS be daddy's little girl... and she knows it too! Enjoy every minute with her... they do grow up way too fast! Pretty soon, they grow up to be models and star in slasher films (two so far):
  21. What voltage are you using them at? What voltage do they taste burnt? And, what resistance of coil are you using?
  22. Haha, yeah, it's not like I was using it for anything else anymore, so it seemed a logical place for spent-coils... My oldest son won it for me at a school-carnival dime-toss game when he was 2 or 3, so I've had that same ashtray for over 22 years? It's the only one I ever used in the house, and tossing it out just didn't seem right... like losing a best-friend....
  23. Hey, there were still a couple left when I checked-out
