  1. Honestly, that's the best deal I ever got from that B&M, or their parking lot
  2. Absolutely! My OCD too I always wash and boil-rinse even the new ones... then I drop them into 91% IPA for a few minutes to just be REALLY sure!
  3. I've found the "ring" spins too freely on one of mine, and when I tighten the base up, I also end up tightening the ring all the way closed A pair of pliers will usually break it free, unless there's a bur causing the problem. Personally, I wish Kanger would make the area above or below the air-flow area knurled, so it would be easier to get a grip to install/remove these without moving the ring too.
  4. Replace the Maker's with Wild Turkey 101, and watch out for sharks... skinny-dipping tends to draw in the big ones... I've seen JAWS!!
  5. Not so much of a "buy" as a "trade"... Today I traded my two KPT2 minis (and $20) for three KPT2's and three Air Flow Bases. The guy bought them on a recommendation, but didn't like the size of the tanks... he wanted minis for his eGo batteries... he hadn't opened two of the tanks yet, and didn't even put juice in the third! He used the $20 (we were at the local B&M) to buy 3 EVOD tanks (3 for $21) and got a free 10ml bottle of juice to boot... he was a happy camper... and I'm waiting for my new tanks to dry
  6. Actually, yeah... Febreeze is a wonderful invention! My car does not have an ashtray, so I used one of those ash-cups with the little hole in the top, and I was pretty good about emptying it out and keeping it "clean". Removing that from the car was the first thing that I did after I gave up the analogs! But, since the car has cloth EVERYWHERE, I "soaked" all the seats, headliner... even the trunk, with Febreeze... I used 409 spray carpet cleaner on the carpets and floor-mats, scrubbed it in with a nylon brush, and then let it dry. Once the carpet was dry, I vacuumed everything really well, and then hit the carpets with a good coating of Febreeze.... and re-sprayed all the seats just for good measure. Next, I let it all air-out with all the doors and trunk open for a full day (and had a good breeze that day, too). Then I cleaned the non-cloth parts with soapy water mix and wiped everything down again with a hot-water "rinse"... scrubbed the windows with foaming glass cleaner, and then detailed the whole interior with TurtleWax F21 vinyl protectant. To help it out, I popped in a couple of those vent-sticks with fresh-linen smell, since I didn't take apart the vent's duct-work and clean those (probably wouldn't hurt though)... Oh, and I changed the cabin air-filter and cleaned all the "filter-box" area, too, which I'm sure was full of smoke-smell... The whole cleaning process took a full day, but was worth it... the car looks and smells new again! I think you'd be hard-pressed to tell it had ever been smoked in after all that cleaning. I did the same thing for the truck, but it is OLD, so it still has a little "old truck" smell that won't come out unless I "restore it", but once I scrubbed the ashtray with oven/grill cleaner to get back to the base-metal, and then soaked the whole thing in bleach-water, the ashtray just smells like steel (and a little bleach) Seriously, the ashtray was the real culprit for the smell in my truck, although wiping down everything with bleach-water after a good soapy-water cleaning sure didn't hurt it any either... The old gal can take a little bleach
  7. My fault... I mentioned "stocking up for the zombie outbreak"
  8. If you like the tighter draw for mouth-to-lung hits, then you'd really like the KPT3 mini (and cheaper price)... I find the draw on it is perfectly suited to that style. I'll assume the AT mini will require a lot of restriction to match that airflow? I've not pulled the trigger on a Nautilus for three reasons... 1, I don't want another coil to keep up with, 2, price, and 3, I like a tighter draw, so even on my AeroTank or KPT2's with AeroBases, I have them restricted pretty tight.
  9. Jerry, you'll have to review that AeroTank Mini for me... I "think" I want want, but not sure if the base is worth the triple-price over a KPT3 mini.... I can get the KPT3 minis for $8-10 all day long (online), or $12.99 from my preferred B&M... and the cheapest I've seen the AT mini is $29
  10. I've ordered a few tanks and coils from eBay... so far, I've not received any fakes or clones. One of my KPT2's looked odd, but the serial # checked out as genuine. I was worried about it because it is about 1mm taller than my other KPT2's, and the glass looks thinner... but it functions fine! I guess I've just been lucky with my purchases... Personally, I'd have no issues with buying/using a clone... as long as I bought it for a "clone price", and knew upfront that it was a clone, rather than paying full-price for an original, and getting taken. I did buy some "factory" rebuilt coils from eBay, before I knew the difference between genuine and knock-offs... they were the correct ohms, and worked... but did not last as long as the real-deal, before tasting burnt. Probably inferior wicks?... So, I didn't save any $ there because they were still over a buck each Live and learn.... But at least I can re-use the bases for rebuilds
  11. I hadn't driven my truck since I stopped smoking analogs... I got in it last week to haul the junk I had been piling-up to the dump, and was floored by the stale ashtray smell... YUK! I had already cleaned/detailed my car, but forgot about the truck... oops... Needless to say, the doors and windows were left open for two days, used half a bottle of Febreeze on the carpet, and cleaned/detailed the seat, dash, headliner, doors, windows, etc.... The ashtray required oven/grill cleaner to get all the crud out of it... and a soak overnight in bleach-water finally took the smell out! It's probably the cleanest that truck has been since it was new... in 1969! Or, at least the first time the ashtray was THAT clean since it was new.
  12. While I was out running errands this morning, I stopped by the local vape-shop on a whim... didn't really need anything, but something said "go", so I went There was a guy there who had bought 3 KPT2's and 3 Air Flow bases from another shop about 50 miles away, on the recommendation of the shop's clerk. But, what he really wanted was KPT2 minis (or EVODs) for his eGo batteries. He didn't realize the size difference between the standard and mini, and thought they were too "top-heavy" for his eGo. So, he was looking to see if the local shop would buy them or swap them for what he really wanted, so he didn't have to drive 100 miles roundtrip to the original shop to exchange them. I had my two KPT2 minis in my travel-pack (freshly cleaned and new coils)... so, I offered to help the guy out with a trade and some cash... Hey, they were just spares for me because I prefer my KPT3 minis on my eGo batteries, and the KPT2 minis were just taking up space I traded him my two minis and $20 (his suggestion for fair-deal) for his three tanks and three AeroBases. I also offered to let him keep the 2.2 ohm coils that came pre-packed with the KPT2's, but he didn't want to bother with opening the other boxes... so he only took the two from the open box! He was happy, and I was jumping for joy! He took that $20 back into the store and bought 3 EVOD tanks - the local shop sells them @ $7.99 each or 3 for $21, with a free 10ml bottle of juice... Today was a good day at the vape-shop! Three KPT2's and three AeroBases for $20, and I was able to help out a fellow vaper by unloading two tanks I wasn't using.... so, he ended up with 5 tanks he wanted, a free bottle of juice, and a couple of spare coils without losing money....
  13. My KPT2 came in the mail yesterday, and my 20 1.8 ohm coils arrived this morning! Sad that they were bought from the same vendor on the same order, but they shipped them separately... oh well, their loss in shipping!
  14. "Stocked-up"... I love that way of looking at it! I always like to keep extras of necessary things... food in the cabinets, TP in the bathroom, plenty of ammo and magazines... Vaping supplies are not any different to me! You never know when something will happen to keep you from the store... natural disaster, zombie outbreak, etc...
  15. I made a little space on ONE shelf for a few e-juice bottles, spare tanks, box of coils... that was two months ago! Today, that whole shelf is just for e-juice, spare bottles, and mixing/measuring equipment! We won't discuss the OTHER TWO shelves I've saved a ton over analogs, but pretty sure I'm making up for it right now in "hobby accessories", lol (and want MORE!!)
  16. Welcome to the forum.... 16 days is awesome! Congrats!
  17. I cracked open a fresh 30ml bottle on Sunday the 18th, and just now emptied it ... 12 days later... that's 2.5ml per day average... or 17.5ml per week... in ONE flavor. My second flavor still has ~20ml left combined in the bottle and pre-filled tanks, so I've only used ~10ml of it in the past 12 days? I guess my usage is even less than I thought, now that I've found my favorite flavors! < 20ml per week equals < $4 in juice costs ... or 1/12 of the cost my weekly analog habit!! Now, if I can just stop stockpiling tanks and coils Hey, at least they were all really good prices, and you can never have too many tanks or coils, right?
  18. I clean every tank when they are new... just because I'm OCD about ensuring cleanliness I disassemble what I can, set the parts in HOT (at least 180-deg) water for 3-5 minutes, and soak/rinse them in 91% IPA for a couple of minutes, then I let them air-dry for several hours, at least. I don't clean new coils, nor do I see a benefit for dry-burn when new. But, I have "dry-burned" a coil that was gunked-up from a heavy/sweet juice... it cooked the residue off the coil nicely, and gave me another week of good flavor on that coil. I tried soaking a coil in IPA overnight to get rid of a flavor I tried (and didn't like)... then I boiled it, and let it air-dry... it seems to have worked, but the first tank-full tasted "bland". I've only been vaping for a couple of months, but I have had to clean a couple of my in-use tanks already... one was washed, soaked in HOT water, and sanitized because I could not get the peanut-butter and caramel flavors out of it any other way... and another because it just started to look "gummy" on the interior of the glass. I feel that if you are using the same flavor over and over in one tank, the need to "regularly clean" that tank is minimized, but if the glass of the tank starts to show residue, or the juice doesn't flow smoothly across the glass, it's probably time to clean it, IMO. Now, drip-tips are a different story! I wash (or HOT-water soak), and give them an IPA bath/rinse after every couple of tank-fulls... just because that's the part that touches my mouth, and I'd prefer that area to be as clean, smooth, and germ-free as possible!
  19. I tried the e-cig route... hated it... The batteries don't have much capacity, nor do the cartomizers... the vapor production (and taste) dropped off to nothing, quickly... and the price for disposables was costing me more than actual smoking! The rechargeables were just not cutting it too (prices were outrageous compared to an eGo-style kit), and lack of "flavor" offerings is soooo limited for e-cigs, compared to vaping. The only advantage to e-cig for me was they were small and don't draw the attention my larger eGo battery and clearomizer do in public places.
  20. Welcome to the forum, and congrats for dumping the cigarettes (analogs as we refer to them here)! For suggestions... it would be easier if we knew what you are using now, so we can go from there. There are plenty of ways to go up from the basics, and some just prefer the basics as their go-to equipment.... Ask and we'll be happy to supply some direction and suggestions!
  21. "Be Prepared"... The Boy Scout Motto! When I'm "out and about", I always carry a spare eGo battery and coil, and sometimes I'll even bring a spare tank and 10ml of juice, too... You never know when you'll have failure of equipment, breakage, or bet out longer than you expect. Obey Murphy's Law
  22. I've seen mine change up or down 0.1 Ohms on a regular basis, which I'm sure is due to "rounding error" or the general accuracy of the MOD's meter... I usually don't pay much attention to it. I've tested a couple of my coils against a friend's REAL coil-meter, and there was a difference between the two. For accuracy, I would trust a real coil-meter over the MOD's meter any day! Like BigClouds said, a resistance change doesn't necessarily mean it is going bad, although a large jump higher would lead you to believe failure is close. Carry an extra coil just in case, but it may continue to function just fine for another day... or another week... or even longer.
  23. I checked out the link, and the first thing I thought was "this isn't a compact box!"... I like the look of the tank, though... but coils are probably $3 each, lol. And the "knob" for selecting your settings looks exactly like the knob that adjusts tension on the strap-mechanism on my motorcycle's cup-holder Personally, I think it detracts from the sleek, tube-style look... It's probably a good unit, but hardly the box-style, and definitely not as compact as the VTR! And yes, I'm still holding out for a Titanium Blue VTR... or at least one in Brushed Black! C'mon Innokin... Start producing the VTR in at least some of the color options from the MVP line-up!
  24. Battery life is the key... Lower resistance coils require less Voltage to achieve a desired Wattage. I was using 2.2 Ohm coils with my MVP, and they drain the battery much faster than my 1.8 Ohm coils (using the same wattage setting), and I can tell no real difference in flavor or vapor between the two coils (at the same wattage). For example: A 1.8 Ohm coil @ 8W requires 3.8V, whereas a 2.2 Ohm coil @ 8W requires 4.2V...
  25. I have 2 PT2 minis and 2 PT3 minis, and two EVOD's. I tend to lean towards the PT3 minis with my eGo batteries... they just seem to have better flavor, at least to me... But, I keep the others around as back-ups, trying new flavors, or use while my PT3's are being cleaned. The EVODs are nice tanks, too, and have a metal shield to protect the (plastic) tank, but don't fully-disassemble like the PT2 or 3 minis (which have glass tanks). The EVOD2 is a dual-coil (like the PT3mini), and they have a glass version of the EVOD2, which will allow you to vape juices that would crack a plastic one (cinnamon, citrus, menthol, etc)... so, yeah, there are choices
