We aint gonna ban ya or hate ya. It's just that I've seen this all too often. I'm a member of this forum and 4 Radio Control forums, have been for YEARS. It never fails that someone, usually a person new to the scene comes in and asks a question in hopes that someone would be nice enough to answer it quickly and in terms that they can understand. But instead some member of the forum, does not stop to think,"Hey this person has never been here before and does not know much about the subject." and just blabbers "Just go do a search for it, it's in there somewhere." A lot of times that newbie is never heard from again. Just be a little more thoughtful before you type an answer. If you don't have a good response to a question just don't reply. When someone new comes in I like to treat them the way I'd treat my son if he wanted to learn how to do something. Take them by the hand if you will. It really wasn't your post that angered me, it was the attitude you got when the other member tried to give you the hint that we just don't do that here. That's what made me step up and give ya the cyber slap. So there ya go. You got spanked, I hope you learned from it. No hard feelings here. Now lets go vape and have a beer!!!

Yeah I agree thats why we sent her links to youtube on the spefic questions she was asking on the other thread, idk if you read it or not, I guess I wasn't looking at it from your perspective, (maybe you guys should ban me for this or hate me, im sorry ) I was looking at my experience and what I did, and I realize EVERYONE is DIFFERENT (computer savy, ect.) I honestly was trying to help her, not steer her in the wrong direction, Thanks for the cyber slap HODGE , I think I needed one on this one I wasn't thinking while typing.

I will be glad to order you some regular 510 cartos and have them shipped directly to you. Just PM me your address. When you get them, you can send me the LR ones. How many boxes do you have?

Please don't be discouraged by the content/tone of this thread... this is VERY rare here.

We try to explain this to everyone in terms they can understand. This is exactly what turns people off to so many forums! People telling them to go search for anything! If you want them to see something SEND THEM A LINK TO IT! Don't make them look blindly for it. Remember, these people are new and may not understand the lingo or know how to do a specific search. Everyone is not computer savy and to take the route of telling them to go look for something IS NOT the way we do things here at Vapor Talk. First. I don't claim to be a battery expert but using LR (low resistance) atomisers/cartomisers comes with a price to your batteries and I don't mean just what you paid for them. Your standard 510 recharable battery comes with I believe a said 200 times rechargable rating which means if you recharge it 2 or 3 times a day it is only gonna last say 3 months at best but using LR atomisers/cartomisers stresses the batteries in the respect that they may not be able to be recharged as many times ( which you can't "see" this damage that you've done to the battery) , now your standard battery may only last a few weeks, same goes for the ego batteries at $20-$25 a/piece. Of course, this is the best case scenario that only just costs you more money for more batteries more often, when you stress a battery there may be other consequences other than just the money aspect of it. Justs my 2 cents.

No disrespect, but I do have to disagree with this. Telling someone just to search 510 on youtube is like telling them to google it. You will get tons of useless information that you have wade through to find good information. That is what forums are for, ask specific questions get specific answers. Myself, I personally enjoy messing around with youtube, and there is a lot of good info. But if you are looking for quick, to the point answers, keep asking here. You probably would not be using a forum if you were ok with random youtube and google searches. Like I said, no disrespect intended at all. Just my two cents.

PG has more throat hit and flavor. VG has a lil less hit and flavor(most of the time) but puts out more vapor. I think that's about it. Someone correct or add to my comment if I'm wrong.

I understand your frustration. There is a learning curve to e-cigs. You don't just pick it up and smoke it like a cigarette. It takes practice and patience to get it down. It is like learning to ride a bike. It is hard at first and easy later. Please don't give it away. If people gave them away then no one would be vaping because we have all been in your shoes.

Anyway, lets work on solving your problem. The most important thing is to NOT try to quit smoking. This isn't like the patch where you fight the urge to have a smoke and feel guilty every time you fail. If you need a smoke then get one. Moving to electronic cigarettes isn't an instant change but a transition. Be patient.

The logic you had to get a flavor that matched your smokes is the same logic we all had. We start out with the tobacco flavors but almost all of us start to prefer other flavors. You will not find an e-cig flavor that tastes like a cigarette because most of the flavor is from the combustion. If you put tobacco in a vaporizer(not an ecig) it would taste totally different than setting it on fire. The natural flavors of tobacco are not what you get from smoke. Therefore it is hard if not impossible to make an e-juice that tastes identical to smoke. This may sound like a bad thing. I thought it was but it isn't. It is a good thing. I recommend buying a few samples of other flavors you like(chocolate, cherry, coffee...). You will be surprised when you find out what your all day vape will be. It most likely won't be a tobacco flavor.

The breaking in time all depends. For me it is usually a few hours. Keep at it if it is the only flavor you have. It could be that it needs to break in, you might not be used to the flavor, the flavor could suck, or it could be something else. Can you describe the flavor and have you tried direct dripping onto the atty instead of using carts? It is strange that there is a smell. Does the cart look melted inside? What does it smell like?

That is it for now. I'll let others jump in. DON'T GIVE IT AWAY! This is the easiest way to give up smoking but it takes time, practice, and patience to get it down. This could be your only chance to quit smoking, have better health, and save money. Trust me. I bought a piece of crap e-cig from Smoking Everywhere about a year ago. I was frustrated but I didn't give up. I'm an ex-smoker today.

First review. It's going to be awful, so let's just get it over with quickly; like ripping off a Bandaid or taking a drag off of a Blu. *BA-dam-CHING!!!*

    ...

Pina Colada- A very basic, but very good, pina colada flavor. It's strong on the pineapple it seems, but the elements are all there. Light and fresh, but very distinct. "If you like pina coladaaaaaas..." then it's worth trying. 4/5

Mint Chocolate Chip- Very strong on mint, but there is most definitely chocolate in there. Reminds me of Junior Mints or something. It provides an amazing freshening sensation combined with a subtle sweetness. Highly recommend it, unless you are a communist who hates chocolate and/or mint. In which case, out of my country. NOW. 5/5

Apple Pie- TV has a weekly sale in which they make about 4 flavors $10 each, as opposed to the already cheap $15. That's the only reason I bought Apple Pie, and I began to think I might regret it. It's actually very good. Apples, cinnamon, and maybe even a hint of caramel? I don't even eat apple pie, but this flavor is growing on me. 3/5

Kretek- I've never had a clove cigarette in my life. You will have to go ask someone else how accurate this flavor is, all I can tell you is that it is AMAZING. Strong flavor, very spicy, but also very sweet. Definitely tastes like Christmas (I really wish there was an intelligent-sounding way to say that.) This was another one I began to think I might regret, but I was dead wrong. 8/5 ("But Popsicle! You can't do that! That's an improper fraction!" I do what I want!)

Butter Rum- This is the reason I found out about Tasty Vapor. I bought a WetBox, and Missy tests each unit herself before shipping using the Butter Rum 0mg doubler. I smelled this on the bottle in my WetBox and immediately asked her what it was. That's how it started. One of my favorite flavors ever. Again, never had butter rum in my life, but this blows my mind. 10/5 (Really? 10/5? I'm starting to see why you all hate me so much. )

Tastyfinger- I like it. The initial wow-factor was taken away by the fact that I already had a liquid close to this flavor. But I like it and it's worth checking out. 3/5

Atomic Cinnacide- When I first got this, I didn't like it. It was too strong and I thought I would vape 3 drops of this per week, if that. As of now, I frequently vape it for days at a time. Sometimes I vape this so much that it's the only thing I can taste anymore. Sometimes I vape it so much it hurts. This is the only time since I began vaping that I feel like I am doing any kind of damage to myself. I love it. And I will be ordering a lot more of it. Once you get used to it, it's amazing. Very hot, very strong, fiery cinnamon. This is the only liquid so far that I have dedicated just one atomizer to; fittingly, it's a red 510. It has a nice throat hit, and if you vape it at 6 volts, I'd call it more of a throat apocalypse. I haven't vaped this higher than 6, but if you do, it was great having you as a member here. We'll miss you, but we will meet again someday. 50/5

So as anyone who talks to me regularly already knows, Tasty Vapor has now joined the ranks of suppliers that I am a fanboy of. 1 ounce of liquid for $15 (and $10 weekly specials), and either 2 or 4 ounces of 0mg for $15. The price is cheap but the quality is far from it. Try them out.

Excellent Kitsune! Another big +1 for you. I love this forum. Hedge, I partially answered this question a while back too, check post number 4 on Sensay's thread too if you're interested.

DIY is a wonderful, and addictive!, pastime and addition to your vaping repertoire. After the initial expense getting set up, you'll be able to mix liquids for as little as 25 cents per ml. No kidding. Well, that assumes buying large quantities of the more common cooking flavorings, but even so, it's far less expensive than buying commercial liquid. To me though the best part is being able to tweak your mixes to work best with your voltage and atty, and your personal tastes. I have a pretty unusual approach to liquid mixing because I vape high voltage, but it works for me and might for you if you're at 6V or more. (If not, if you're vaping 3.7V, then stick with the more traditional levels of up to 20% flavoring and mostly PG.)

For high voltage liquid, I use 100% VG base nic and as much as 48% flavoring, which can get very pricey (but still less than the cost of commercial liquid, assuming you've purchased large enough quantities of the basics kitsune mentioned). This should make more sense as you get into it more.

The only thing I would caution is using drops to measure. I say this because there are too many variables using drops. Different liquids with different viscosities have way different drop sizes, so you can't rely on the 30/ml rule of thumb very well. That's how I started too, and while it does kind of work for small batches (and that's how you'll want to test your mixes!), drops do not scale up accurately. If you're going to use drops for your testing, you have to measure how many drops in 1 ml for each of your inputs. For example, using a common disposable pipette, here are the number of drops per ml for each of my basic inputs:

    100MG nic Base, 100% VG -- 16
    100MG nic Base, 50% VG, 50% PG -- 26
    100MG nic Base, 100% PG -- 31
VG, cut with 20% distilled water -- 15
    PG -- 20
    Average Flavoring -- 20

So you can see that there's a lot of variance depending on viscosity of the liquid you're inputing and each dropper is different. The 30 drops/ml assumption could get you weird results if you wanted to scale up, and you'll want to measure with each dropper you use.

Determining how many drops per input using your dropper is simple. Get an inexpensive graduated cylinder (the smaller the better for accuracy; mine is 10 ml and it's a bit too large for this purpose). Using your dropper, drip into the cylinder being very careful not to let any drops hit the side of the cylinder going down (if they do, they won't count properly), and count each drop until you get to the 1 ml line. You want to measure where the low part of the fluid comes right to the 1 ml line in the cylinder. Because of surface tension, the liquid will rise along the edge of the wall of the cylinder; don't measure the top of the edge, but the lower, flatter part of the surface. Hope that makes sense.

Rinse and dry your cylinder and dropper between each input you're testing, and try to do this at the common temperature that you'll be working with your materials. Temp can also affect viscosity of the liquids, and even 20 degrees difference could change your measurements. You can dry the inside of your cylinder with canned air -- or a paper towel and a coat hanger. Whatever works, but dry it out so drops of water remaining won't affect your count.

Don't forget to write down your count after each input! No need, probably, to ask why I mention this. You'll be able to pour most of the liquid you measured back into its container, so there isn't much waste doing this. It's really necessary for accurate record keeping.

I tried to upload my calculator but for whatever reason the uploads are failing this morning. If you'd like to see it I will be happy to email the file to anyone with basic instructions how to use it. It's very simple and direct, and lets you measure your inputs in both drops and milliliters.

That's all I have for now, hope it helps a little. Sorry to go off on the drops rant, but I've gotten in so much trouble with drops assumptions I wanted to get it off my chest. Have fun and as kitusne would say, Merry Mixing!
