Well it depends on how you look at things. Seems everything was working fine, until you plugged in the new PT. Now devices that once worked do not.

So you are saying that the computer that was working fine just so happened to go bad when you plugged in the PT? Then you proceed to plug the same PT into other devices? Not the way I would of went about it.

To me that would be the time to quickly remove it.

Whether the PT was good or faulty doesn't really matter as far as your original computer, but I would guess that it did in fact jack up your computers USB.

This is interesting because Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor (constricts the blood vessels), which in turn, increases blood pressure, which, reduces blood flow to the penis, which, reduces sexual performance.

Now, I'm sure that some of the other 4 thousand chemicals in analogs played a role here too, but to be honest, you're still using nicotine and it's considered the main culprit assosiated with weak erections.

One of the benifits you should notice however is INCREASED lung function. Which increases oxygen absorbtion and gives your more physical stamina and we all know how important that is

As a teacher, these scenarios hit hard. I've read them before. And I've seen some of the results in the 2010 versions happen. It is a difficult time to be a student. I can' say that I agree with the 2010 versions, but I do understand why those ended up being the results: Can we say "overreaction" in many cases?

I have another one to add:
    Scenario 9:
Jane is bullied at school. Kids tease her about playing soccer with the boys instead of playing four square with the girls.
1979: Jane goes home, practices soccer, becomes world famous player.
2010: Jane commits suicide because the bullying doesn't stop when she leaves school, it continues on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace.

    HIGH SCHOOL
    1957 vs. 2010

    Scenario 1:
Jack goes quail hunting before school and then pulls into the school parking lot with his shotgun in his truck's gun rack.
1957 - Vice Principal comes over, looks at Jack's shotgun, goes to his car and gets his shotgun to show Jack.
2010 - School goes into lock down, FBI called, Jack hauled off to jail and never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in for traumatized students and teachers.

    Scenario 2:
Buster and Dale get into a fist fight after school.
1957 - Crowd gathers. Buster wins. Buster and Dale shake hands and end up buddies.
2010 - Police called and SWAT team arrives -- they arrest both Buster and Dale. They are both charged them with assault and both expelled even though Buster started it.

    Scenario 3:
Jeffrey will not be still in class, he disrupts other students.
1957 - Jeffrey sent to the Principal's office and given a good paddling by the principal. He then returns to class, sits still and does not disrupt class again.
2010 - Jeffrey is given huge doses of Ritalin. He becomes a zombie. He is then tested for ADD. The family gets extra money (SSI) from the government because Jeffrey has a disability.

    Scenario 4:
Billy breaks a window in his neighbor's car and his Dad gives him a whipping with his belt.
1957 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to college and becomes a successful businessman.
2010 - Billy's dad is arrested for child abuse. Billy is removed to foster care and joins a gang. The state psychologist is told by Billy's sister that she remembers being abused herself and their dad goes to prison. Billy's mom has an affair with the psychologist.

    Scenario 5:
Mark gets a headache and takes some aspirin to school..
1957- Mark shares his aspirin with the Principal out on the smoking dock
2010- The police are called and Mark is expelled from school for drug violations. His car is then searched for drugs and weapons.

    Scenario 6:
    Pedro fails high school English.
1957- Pedro goes to summer school, passes English and goes to college.
2010- Pedro's cause is taken up by state. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against the state school system and Pedro's
English teacher. English is then banned from core curriculum. Pedro is given his diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he cannot speak English.

    Scenario 7:
Johnny takes apart leftover firecrackers from the Fourth of July, puts them in a model airplane paint bottle and blows up a red ant bed.
    1957 - Ants die.
2010 - ATF, Homeland Security and the FBI are all called. Johnny is charged with domestic terrorism. The FBI investigates his parents -- and all siblings are removed from their home and all computers are confiscated. Johnny's dad is placed on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again.

    Scenario 8:
Johnny falls while running during recess and scrapes his knee He is found crying by his teacher, Mary. Mary hugs him to comfort him.
1957 - In a short time, Johnny feels better and goes on playing.
2010 - Mary is accused of being a sexual predator and loses her job. She faces 3 years in State Prison. Johnny undergoes 5 years of therapy.

Okay, here's the deal. been a analog{I find this term to be very humorous}smoker for 35+ years. For the majority of that time I have been a RYO guy{hand roller, DRUM rocks}. Being a hand roller and smoking roughly 40 a day, I would guess you could call me a "hardcore" nic. addict. Got a b-day coming up soon and have decided that my gift to myself is going to be an attempt at purging myself from this filthy habit. I have been lurking on this board for a few months, and have to say that it has been very informative, and the vet's here are very helpful and patient with the uninformed. I hope that trend continues, as I have a few ?'s that I would like to ask. {bear with me as I know that most of these have been answered many times before, but I'm just too lazy today to go back through all the posts and find them, plus i would like to have them all together so I can print them off.} #1. I have already decided that I'm going to get an EGO. (think I may have heard a poster or 2 recommend these). Have a few ?'s. It comes with a 650 batt. or you can get the 900. Other than ?longer life? what diff does this make?. Does this make a difference with the lr carts/atomizers or not?

#2. Drip tips. Must haves? It's just an alternative form of direct dripping right? #3.How quickly do the consumables go? I know this is subjective, but what is a reasonable life expectancy of an atty, cart/cartomizer etc... and probably most important, how long can I expect a battery to last? #4. I would assume that a good amount of the operating budget for a pv would be for the juices. I've looked at the dyi juice section and it seems relativly simple, but are homemade juices as good and are they ultimatley cheaper to produce? #5. Looking for the best deal on an ego xl(you know, the one with 12 batteries, 5 gallons of juice, 2 hookers and a bottle of scotch for around $50). If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

#6. Could someone update me on the latest in regards to my government trying to control yet another facet of my life(on top of taking 1/3 of my income and then taxing the hell out of me on everything I buy with the 2/3rds the "allow" me to keep.) What is the latest on the fda and the the e-cig situation?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice that may be forthcoming.

Thanks to all of you who helped me and supported me through what has turned out to be 90 of the most enjoyable days I've spent not smoking! You guys rock!

I went to the optometrist a couple of weeks ago for a check up. I stated that my vision up close seems to not be as good as it once was. After the check up he was looking at my chart and said "I found the problem" . He then shows me the chart and points at my birthdate. Ha ha, just what I need a comedian for an optometrist.

Hi Aimee. Gurgling probably means you have a flooded atty. Flooding your atty from time to time is inevitable. I am more prone to flooding when DD vs using carts, yet prefer DD.

Have you tried blowing through from the battery end? Like Schizo I have a couple of things I can't live without:

My vape rags are dark brown washcloths - never confused with any others used in the home
    My travel box of q-tips

    1. wipe the bottom of the atty
    2. q-tip the inside of the battery connector well
    3. check that the battery end has cooled then blow through from the battery end toward the mouth into my vape rag
    - slowly twist (ie: clockwise) the atty and continue to blow really hard
    - some say wear goggles when doing this
    4. reattach to battery and vape gently to see whether or not you need to add juice;
I typically do not - I picture the liquid resaturating the coil/bridge/wick (if you leave yours in tact) from the bottom
up as I blow through. I can vape on that several times before needing to redrip.
    * note: I know it seems like a lot. This took me at least a couple of minutes, if not more, when I first started but I'm now able to do it all in mere seconds.

I've found that dd'ing into a hot or very warm atty immediately warms (thins) the juice and that will almost always cause a flood. In this case it's not necessarily about over dripping.

Also if you remove the cone for a while you may be able to better gauge how many drops your atomizer can handle without leaking. With the cone on you don't always know when you've leaked. If you remove it then you'll figure it out pretty quickly. Another thing to consider is how thick liquid is. VG will vape longer because it requires more heat (I think I said that right). This means that it sits in your atty longer. Sooo .. if you're vaping PG or more PG than VG, etc., then you may have to drip more often or stave off redripping as often for higher VG. Again it's easier for me to gauge this without the cone.

Ok I hope I didn't overwhelm! Good luck though. I like the experience of DD'ing but it does require more .. um .. TLC

If you can I would suggest the eGo. If you've spent much time reading around the forum or in chat you'll see most of us really do love ours. Honestly, you can't go wrong with it. Many people have bigger, more powerful devices, etc. but their eGo is their "go to" device and it's the best when you're out and about as well. Jolly did the math and I think it has either 9 or 12 times the battery life of those little ones, it's not much longer or bigger for that matter. It is a well-built device and can handle some wear n tear. I've had mine for almost 6 months now and I still love her. You'll want to make sure you have enough juice to last you, and perhaps a spare atty/carto to start off with and you'll be well on your way. You may experience a craving for a cigarette every now and again, but vape that eGo and that urge will subside much more easily than it ever has in the past when trying to quit.

    Oh yeah!

When you say "mid level"... what is the mg of the nicotine. For some suppliers mid is 24 w/ high being 30+ That's insane but everyone measures it a little differently.

Also, some people tend to vape more than they smoked. It's a mental thing ... maybe afraid of not getting enough or thinking you can vape all you want since it's "healthy".

Try to cut back on your nic level and purchase some zero nic juice for those times you just want a casual vape but not having the craving for the nicotine. VT's Mentha and Dulcis both come in zero nic. And their flavor is the same with or without the nicotine.

Keeps us up-to-date on how you are doing. I have a feeling this is a question many people have had.

That's funny you mention your eGo... because what I was thinking about giving you is 2 standard eGo batts, 1 Mega batt, a USB fast charger for the batts, various atomizers, and whatever else I find to throw in.

What do you think about something like this package? I mean, someone could honestly start vaping right away with nothing else to purchase right away.

By the way, just so you know... there was a guy on this forum who started up a discussion about how he was a soldier over in Iraq with a bunch of his "brothers",etc. Then he started sweet talking everyone and acted all upset about running out of supplies, etc.... to the point that a bunch of us honestly felt sorry for him and were totally ready to open ourselves up to him and give him a bunch of free crap!! Well, come to find out, the guy was a total FRAUD and was only there to collect a bunch of supplies at our expense. Luckily, we have a lot of smart people on this forum and they traced his IP address to FLORIDA instead of IRAQ and we were all warned in the nick of time. This is just one of many reasons that I'm reluctant to "help someone out" that is telling a really great story. I guess I will need to sleep on this and let you know.

noXious reacted to HyOnLyph in Stores That Carry Ecigs And Vapors
    Hey HookahMan,
I'm pretty surprised that someone hasn't jumped in to answer your question. The problem seems to be that the stores carry the brands that are cheaply made but very expensive. And certain products online (as recommended in this forum) are better quality and cheaper but you don't get the benefit of "hands on".

IF you can find someone in your area in this forum, I'd see if you can get together.. I think that's your number one best bet.

The only thing I'll say about "hands on" is that IF you must have a store to go to AND the cigarette look and feel is important to you.... the only "over the counter" eCig that I would recommend is SmokeStik. (Avoid Blu, SmokingEverywhere, SmokingAnywhere, Mall Kiosk brands, etc etc.) SmokeStik are expensive, ($99 for a starter kit w/ bonuses) but at least they are not cheaply made. I've used them and I know their quality and their customer service is great. They have a few locations in KY. https://usa.smokestik.com/show_locations.php?state=ky

If the cigarette look and feel in your hand is a little less important, I'd take the advise of most people on this forum and just go with a 510 or eGo. You will invest less money and you will be happier in the long run. More likely than not... if you like vaping, you'll experiment with a variety of options. But at least your initial experience will be a happy one... and you will have spent less on the startup.

On piece of advice... Take the money that you would spend on cigarettes and put it in a jar. If you are a pack-a-day smoker then put away $6-7 every day. Every time you would purchase smokes... instead put the same amount of money in a "kitty" somewhere so that you have cash to spend on ecigs. eCigs are consumables just like cigarettes. They don't last forever. Besides juice... Stuff wears out and burns up. Not nearly as expensive as cigarettes but you are going to need to spend money to keep it going. If you save the money, you'll have a lot of cash to play with other brands and mods. If you don't, you'll wonder why you have to keep spending $X every month or so to keep this going. So save the money for awhile until you get an idea of what you will want to spend on ecigs.

Blessings ... and have a great time doing this.

(Please only post questions OR additional noobie info in here to keep this thread clean. ie: no thank you, good post, etc, posts)

This is to help you play catch up on what the veterans know.

    Basic ecig Parts

A.) Cartridge - holds the ejuice and is also a mouth piece. this part can be replaced with a drip tip and is what most do
B.) Atomizer - has an element that heats up the ejuice and as you pull air threw it vapor is produced.
    * sub B section - you can also use cartomizers, they are atomizers with filler to hold juice and are a tad shorter in size.
C.) battery - these will be 3.7v Lithium Ion batteries, they supply the power to the atomizer. they come in auto (activated by suction) or manual (activated by button)

    Common Ecigs

    What's the best ecig
This is more dependent on how you vape and your needs for vapor, throat/lung hit, battery life needs and other factors.
Most people will advise the ego/tornado/riva as they all have a nice battery life and are built good (ego being the favorite of the three)
this is the ego mega and regular batteries with manual buttons

    Ecig Model Numbers
These are based on the atomizer they use
when one says 510 kit, they generally are referring to the cigarette shaped ecig. like the first picture of this post.

Why we tell you not to get cigarette shaped ecigs
A cigarette shaped battery runs $12 for a normal manual 510

    9hrs at $20 (ego battery) 540mins
    45mins (510 kit battery) 540 ÷ 45 = 12
    12 (batteries) x $12 = $144

so for mAh (Milliamp hours), it is a lot less expensive to buy a larger battery.
this will also keep you from having to buy more batteries. explained after next set of math.

510 kit batteries needed for 9hrs
    9hrs (540mins) ÷ (45min run time + 2hr charge time = 165mins) = 3.272727273 batteries needed to run 9hrs on 510 kit
    3 x $12 = $36 - 1 ego battery = $20 = $16 saved. that is initial cost only!!

45min x 2 is what you have ready to go after your first needs charged (90mins).
your first battery is going to take 2hrs to charge so by the time you run out the other two the first is done charging.
so just to keep going you would need at bare minimum you want two 510 chargers, this means more $$.
why you ask? at night when you don't have a single battery to use, you will only be able to charge 1 while you sleep. it would be more ideal to have 3 or one of the larger chargers that do more than one and have no less than 10 batteries ready to go.
on top of this when you go out you will have a pocket full of batteries, making this not a very portable device to bring with you.

other than that you have to recharge more often and the more you charge the more you replace. batteries have an # of recharges before they start failing to keep their charge. now you may say by logic that you are only charging once on those small batteries in that 9hr time, so there isn't an issue on life, BUT, the smaller the battery the less times you can charge it before the failing starts. also consider that you have 3 batteries that will fail

    First Order
When you get an ecig make sure that you have spares of everything.
the atomizers, cartomizers, batteries, and juice are all going to need purchased at some point again.
Your first cart should consist of NO LESS than, 5 atomizers, 2 packs of cartomizers (5 in a pack), your kit, 2 extra batteries (i would advise mega batteries), 1 extra charger, and a nice amount of juice.
the last thing you want is to have to wait on something you didn't buy enough of to come in. if one thing is missing you will go right back to smoking, nobody wants that.

    Mods and Why
Mods are usually over looked or not even known to noobies of the ecig world.
these devices can be anywhere from 3.7v to 8.4v.
the point is that some people need one of two things, longer battery life with less cost and/or an aggressive throat hit.
as a newbie i wouldn't advise a mod above 3.7v that doesn't have the option to go as low as 4.2v
if it is not a variable voltage you are stuck on that till you get something lower if you don't like it.
i say 4.2v because any 3.7v battery charges UP TO 4.2v. most people love vaping that initial fresh charged battery. voltage drops after usage to as low as 2.9v

Mods will use batteries like these

these are all 3.7v batteries with a much longer charge life vs a kit ecig.
you can find almost all of these batteries from US suppliers for $5 each.
a 3.7v mod using the largest battery (18650) can last you 4+ days @ $8 for the battery.

some mods can last up to 4+ days before needing to be recharged.

I'm not going to go into mods or pictures of mods. you can do that on your own, also watch youtube videos about the mods before thinking its large.
the standard ones people use are
    silver bullet
    mako
tekk mod (prone to cracking at the top unless you find someone that knows how to make them correctly)
some sort of wetbox (check reviews of these missys wetbox fails quite often due to her under rated buttons and cost $15 to fix)
(there are a crazy amount of mods out there, this is just a small list of the most talked about)

Pursha, I actually have some things in mind for you so you could completely set up 1 friend of yours. I guess my only question/concern is how to go about something like this? Please, don't take this wrong, but I WANT to trust you and everything... but you have to remember that this is basically your first post to the world.

I am really busy today at work... so please allow me some time, and I will send you a PM later this evening, and we can see if we can get something worked out between the two of us. Take care.

Just keep vaping. When I got my 510 kit last December (on a Tuesday) I vaped in the evening only and smoked by day at work. By Thurdsay I found myself missing my vape while I was at work. On Satuday morning I woke up and smoked my last analog with my coffee and then started vaping. For the first couple of months I continued to go out to the "smoke shack" at work to vape, but eventually ended up just vaping at my desk. Best advice is that when you get a craving, vape heavily. I did quite well early on, but found I got some killer cravings a few months down the road. The weren't often, but when they hit - oh man. I was able to vape through them and get through it. I'm pushing a year now and can say that over the past few months I don't recall having any cravings at all.

I'll just add - don't beat yourself up if you need a cigarette once in a while. It's not a big deal.

Congrats on purchasing the eGo, it's quite a remarkable pv which will make the switch over to vaping from analogs a delicious endeavor. (been there, done that!). It took me a week of vaping before the analogs were history. I had accidentally quit smoking analogs, like many others. All except 4 of those stinky little pestery cancer sticks. I had to make mental effort to rid myself of those... but my heart, tastebuds, satisfaction, and mind won that war as well. I counted the analogs I DIDN'T smoke and added one more to the list each day until VOILA... no more analogs! Give yourself some leeway and a plan. Don't try to quit smoking... just relax, start vaping, and see what happens. You'll be pleasantly surprised. (and then go kick butt with any remainders lol). Good Luck and Happy Vaping!

I have become so engrossed in my whiskey overdose I have gone mad and built my second mod and even though I do say so myself, it looks like a vape of perfection!

Suddenly my whiskey flavour has a whole new life (and taste)

I want to make more! how about a budweiser one! king of vapes!

tell me I'm wrong and it's not perfectly beautiful? well I love it and thats what matters and more to the point, it should get me through my weak whiskey stage

Today is the day! Ive tried cold turkey, switching to chewing tobacco and chewing enormous amounts of gum but for some reason i keep going back. Ive smoked for 19 years and I am getting tired of the smell and my lungs hurting when I wake up in the morning. First thing this morning I woke up took a puff off the e cig and was amazed. The taste and feel of the vapor was almost like having that first puff of the day. Really hope this works. Im getting tired of feeling like an addict and throwing my money away. Thank you for all the videos that have been posted. They are very helpful. Wish me luck

A cabbie picks up a Nun. She gets into the cab, and notices that the VERY handsome Cab driver won't stop staring at her. She asks him why he is staring. He replies: "I have a question to ask you but I don't want to offend you." She answers, "My son, you cannot offend me. When you're as old as I am And have been a nun as long as I have, you get a chance to see and Hear just about everything. I'm sure that there's nothing you could Say or ask that I would find offensive." "Well, I've always had a fantasy to have a nun kiss me." She responds, "Well, let's see what we can do about that: #1, you have to be single and #2, you must be Catholic." The cab driver is very excited and says, "Yes, I'm single and Catholic!" "OK" the nun says. "Pull into the next alley." The nun fulfills his fantasy, with a kiss that would Make a hooker blush. But when they get back on the road, the cab driver starts crying. "My dear child," says the nun, "why are you crying?" "Forgive me but I've sinned. I lied and I must confess, I'm married and I'm Jewish." The nun says, "That's OK. My name is Kevin and I'm going to a Halloween party.

I'm not sure whether you guys are the same, I read a lot of questions of what to buy first time and it brings back memories to when I first started.

    my priorities were:

must be shaped like a real cigarette
don't really care about battery life cause I can charge it
    must have lots of batteries
    reliable atomizer
    end colour doesn't matter

now after almost a year my priorities are:

    doesn't matter about shape
    doesn't matter about size
must look like anything but a cigarette
    battery must last all day
    holds loadsa juice
    nice throat hit
who cares about attys, they are consumable
    nice big batteries

have other vapers priorities changed over their vaping years ?
