Had even more bad luck, had the Riva on the couch and it snapped in half. I went to Artisan Vapors in Plano and got an Ego-C-Twist. I am MUCH happier with this one.

I used to read autobiographies and biographies when I was younger. I just wanted to know how successful people became that way. I took a little bit of knowledge out of everyone's books and tried to use it in my life. Funny thing was though that the spectrum of different personalities was crazy. I would read about, Bill Cosby, then Tupac, then Rush Limbaugh, then Dennis Rodman.

You are right about the books becoming movies thing. I am a big fan of all of Max Barry's books and I just found out they made a movie out of his book, Syrup. If Hollywood would look to literature instead of old movies and t.v. Shows from the 80's as source material, the movies out right now would be ALOT better.

It is my ex brother-in-law's, he sent me a pic of it when I was asking him some questions about mods. He offered to let me come over and check out his stuff and educate me on it. I'm DEFINATLY gonna take him up on the offer. I was just wondering what it was because I forgot to ask him when I was talking to him.

She said 8 to 10 hours before having to recharge it, and I miss understood her. On the very first battery I got she said it had to die completely before recharging it, but on the passthrough it can be charged at anytime. I went in today and showed Wendy the button sticking issue and she gave me a new RIVA passthrough. The Vapor Bar is a good store and good people work there, I recommend going there if you are in the McKinney area. Ask for Wendy.

Riva's are a clone of the original eGo, more affordable but not near as well made. Vaping for 6 hours is normal between charges, unless it's a large battery, then you should be getting anywhere from 6-10 hours. (hard to pinpoint when we all vape so differently). The sticky button is unfortunately the most common complaint with the Riva's. I would exchange it right away. They should know about the button and be more than prepared for it. When you can afford it, (which happens overnight once you realize you have enough flavors, attys, and batteries and you don't need to buy any more smokes either), I would invest in the eGo Twist or the Vision Spinner either one. That's not saying they don't have occasional quirksr, but your chances of not getting any are better.
The original eGo's will last a good 6 months before needing replacement, but don't be surprised when you're still vaping them a year or more later.
Sorry you're having problems, that really sux. (but that's life, even in the world of vaping. Fortunately, the Vendors and posters usually more than make up for it).

She also told me the new one she gave me would be good for 18 hours of straight vaping. I got it at 7:00pm and it is now dead at 11:45pm. I'm not a mathematician or anything but it's not 18 hours yet, I'm pretty sure. :-/

The RIVA battery I just bought on July 3rd already died. It would only hold a charge for like 4 or 5 hours. I went back to The Vapor Bar and Wendy was real cool and explained to me why the battery crapped out so soon. A combination of not letting the battery die completely before I charge it and using my cellphone wall plug on the USB cord charger they gave me. Because of bad information her employees gave me when I bought it she gave me a new RIVA battery, this one has a passthrough charger. She also gave me a new cord for the passthrough and a wall plug as well. Now an hour after I get it, the button keeps sticking and I have to keep pushing it in order to get it to stop. I just can't win! :-/

I like the DEW too, I drink Mountain Dew like crazy so I was thinking no way is it going to taste like the drink but it is very very close. I do not know how they mix this stuff up but it actually taste like it has carbonization in it don't it? Not sure about vaping it all day because it is so similar to my drink but from time to time I will vape the DEW.

Avid reader here too. Mostly mystery action novels. Clancey, Patterson, etc.. but I enjoy all forms.

Hey Mark! If you only read Non-fiction, how will you ever learn what NOT to do when you're faced with a monster of whatever magnitude?
Top 10 lessons learned from scarey novels:
    1. Never look back while you're running, or you will trip over something.
    2. Never say "Who's there?" as you're sneaking around looking for whoever is there.
    3. Oh crap, I forgot...

At some point you may want to get a second battery if you're wanting to permanently replace analogues/snus with vaping. Waiting for that one battery to charge can suck. Someone mentioned this in another thread recently and made me realize I never thought of it... make sure to back up your charger at some point as well with a second to keep on hand in case it dies. Dead batteries you can't charge suck too, LOL, and I think a LOT of us remember to have back up batteries and devices but NOT backup chargers.

I'm not really sure that I agree a mild fruit is the way to go if you're used to analogues. I tried a lot of the more subtle fruit flavors like kiwi and watermelon when I was in the quitting process, and my numbed out taste buds just couldn't taste them (pack a day smoker originally here, Camels). If you do get a subtle fruit flavor like that, I would recommend that you make sure it's mentholated or that you add menthol to give your taste buds a little kick in the butt so they can taste the fruit. Heavy flavors that are slightly bitter/spicy and menthol flavors are probably the best route to go IMHO... also the very sweet heavy flavors might make you sick, so keep it low on the sweetener. Of course, I agree that the tobacco flavors are always a good bet when you're coming off analogues.

Welcome to vaping & this forum! The health & pleasure benefits are HUGE with vaping vs. smoking. Congrats on taking your first step towards a healthier and happier lifestyle!

I was recently given a ECG (Electronic Cigarette Generation) brand e-cig from a friend at work because he didn't like it. I found out why he didn't like it...it sucks...lol. I stopped by a local Vapor shop in my city called The Vapor Bar. I bought some e-juice (one of their in house blends) called, Beach Bum. I really like how it tasted when I sampled it in their shop. So, I charged the ECG and took it to work, it worked about 2 hours before the battery died and I bummed 3 analogs and had about 5 Camel Snuses while I waited for it to charge. After work I was headed to St Louis ( from Dallas Texas) and I will be in Missouri till the 15th on vacation. There was NO WAY I was using the ECG piece of crap for a week and a half. I bit the bullet and bought one of The Vapor Bar's one battery set ups for $68 with a manual battery, atomizer, charger and one 30 ml free flavor (I chose cotton candy...that was a mistake). I have been vaping with it since 5:00pm and haven't had any desire for a Snus or analog. Hope I can stick with it. I'm doing it in the car now and wife and kids don't mind it.

Hang in there, Tex. it might be a little rocky at first til you find a flavor that suits you. Sometimes when you are trying new flavors they can be great for a couple of drags but quickly cloy on you. I suggest starting with subtle flavors at first. Maybe a straight tobacco flavor or something subdued like a mild fruit or a cafe mocha. Hang on to the cotton candy because you can add a touch of it to other juices to sweeten them up a little if they're too dull.

If you have a smart phone or an iPad do a search on your travel route to locate a place that sells e-juices. Lately, more and more smoke shops and cigarette outlets are carrying some juices if you can't find an actual vape store.

If you want to post pictures you have to upload them to a third party site like Flickr and then link the URL. There may be other methods.

    Good luck!

Welcome aboard man! And don't discount the cotton candy just yet. The longer you vape the more your taste buds change. I bought a Jamaican colada and couldn't stand it but after a week I tried it again and couldn't put it down. You will probably like the tobacco flavours at first since that's what your used to. I have been doing more fruity and dessert style flavours as of late although I like sweetmint too. So just hold onto it for a bit and if you still don't like it you can always buy a 0mg nicotine flavor and mix it in to overtake the cotton candy. And if all else fails... I'm sure there are people who would take it off your hands around here. Anyway happy vaping man!
