Lyrical reacted to Uma in Is Nicotine the killer?
Stress is the number one cause of constricted blood vessels, heart failure. Tar & other toxins build up & cause constrictions, yes.
Studies show that eCigs (nicotine without the tar & crapiolie) do not constrict, & the veins remain flexible.
Studies show that nicotine actually promotes healthy cells. Smoke kills cells, nicotine multiplies thriving cells.
Studies show that nicotine restores brain damage, cognitive skills, focus, and relieves Alzheimer's, ADHD, Parkinson's, and more.
Until lately, they were always baffled by the smokers paradox. Smokers survived when non smokers died.
Today, they want to delete the nicotine from real cigarettes & are doing their darnedest to ban eCigs and I'm sure the NRT's will be next. They now KNOW it's the smoke & tar that kills, & nicotine is the beneficial life saving aspect.
Most smokers who died from smoking related diseases were in their 70's & 80's. They lived 20 years LONGER than their age groups life expectancy. There is STILL no link between passive smoking and lung cancer. It's environmental & some even swear it's from the cancer laden vaccinations. Smoking is the scapegoat. Smoking is down, cancer is up.
Nicotine is FDA approved. Find various nicotrol and Nicorette studies like http://www.nicorette.co.uk/help-and-support/nicotine-myths. And. http://www.pfizer.com/sites/default/files/products/uspi_nicotrol_inhaler.pdf

Lyrical reacted to Tam in Please help me decide
At first I thought I'd have a problem with the weight of the VTR but it doesn't feel so heavy because of the shape, I think. Anyway, it's good to know I have a weapon handy should I need it. The only downside is having to hold back from braining someone who is begging for it...

Lyrical got a reaction from HaWaIIaN in Have E-Cigs helped you quit smoking?
I played around smoking cigarettes and GreenSmoke e-cigs for about a week then gave up cigarettes altogether. Feb. 3nd will be one year.

Lyrical reacted to Joshuab3687 in Obsess much?
So, I'm not even two weeks into vaping and I'm reading most, if not all, the posts here and info I can! My first purchase 2 weeks ago was a VaporKing Storm 2.0 Clearomizer kit. Not super satisfied with it. So, I have purchased about 40 different juices from various vendors. And then I bought 3 different 510 batts and 4 different tanks/clearos. Now I get the reference to "vapemail". I won't get home from the road till friday so, the mailman is safe! Lol! Not sure if I'm obsessed or posessed!

Lyrical reacted to CascadianExotics in One Year Smoke Free! Thank you everyone here on VaporTalk!
Woo-Hoo!!! I made it!!!
One year ago today I received my first kit, and started an amazing journey. Thanks to everyone here on VaporTalk, the transition was made much easier than I thought it would be. Never did I think that quitting smoking could be so much fun, nor did I anticipate the amount of new friends I would make.
Cheers to you all!!!
Let's keep on vaping!!!!

Lyrical got a reaction from Uma in Vote For A Reason You Choose E-Cig
To stop smoking cigarettes to stop harming myself and my family, the flavors and the convenience. So far, it has cost me more than twice the amount my banner says I've saved on cigarettes, but I'm sure that'll work itself out once I get settled in the equipment I use and the flavors I like the most.

USB uses 5v however they are capable of higher current than the usb port from your computer. If you notice the chargers you buy have different amperage ratings. tablet chargers are normally around 2A. Phone chargers around 1 Amp. The computer is normally limited to around 500mA.
The heat is from I2R losses basically it's from resistance to current flow. When current flows it generates heat and that heat can cause the battery to explode. Most batteries have shut offs for overcurrent.
so if your not using a charger with overcurrent protection (the joytechs have it) then your asking for this to happen. Rapid charging can cause gassing.
Charging a battery past it's capacity can cause damage also.
This is not limited to e cigg batteries. It's true of all batteries including cell phone and tablet batteries. There was a big ta do about the iphone batteries doing something similar a few years ago or maybe it was android i can't quite remember.
