  1. Good one, Jeff. I always forget to ask the more obvious question. Not familiar with this set up so I'll back out and let others who are more versed on it take over.
  2. Before we can troubleshoot this for you, we need to know what kind of battery and what tank you have. Name brands and models will be very helpful.
  3. For the most part, I agree with what you've written, but here are a couple of other things to consider: Rarity and scarcity of the authentic. The K100, an Empire Mod clone made by Empire Mods. It's an exceptionally rare mod and only becomes available once every God-knows-when because it's hand machined by one man. When they do become available, they run about $160 or a little more vs. the clones that go for under $50. The higher price is more than worth it due to the high quality and craftsmanship. I've been on their "notify" list for the past couple of years. In the mean time I got the clone (won it as a door prize at my first vape meet, actually). It's a solid workhorse, if a little on the heavy side. Another thing would be that the authentic has a few flaws. Customers have been contacting the original manufacturer with requests to fix these flaws and have been ignored. Clones are made with the flaw fixed, which makes the clones better "quality" than the authentic. I know I've heard a couple of RBA/RDA in this category but can't remember the specific name at the moment. In these cases, wouldn't a clone be acceptable? In my opinion? I think so.
  4. When things get stressful, it's also very helpful to up the nic level for a bit. That's why I keep juices in everything from 3 mg (my usual ADV these days), up to 24 mg when I really need it.
  5. How does it do with dark, sweet juices? Does that gunk up the nickle coil just as fast as Kanthal?
  6. Despite all the fancy toys I have all over the place, when things get really stressful and I need something simple that just works... I reach for my trusty Vision Spinner with an Anyvape Davide mini (a Kanger Pro Tank mini is nearly identical) and vape away. Sometimes simple is beauty beyond compare. I hope things smooth out for you soon.
  7. Like the others said before. Drink more water. Not coffee, tea or soda... just plain H2O.
  8. If your coil is performing the way you want, giving off flavor and vapor... then I'd say leave the coil in until it doesn't anymore. Three months though, holy cow!
  9. That's one heck of a review, Jason. I'm looking forward to hearing more about it when you've had a chance to put it through its paces.
  10. Are you aware that you will find PG in asthma inhalers? It's also used in hospitals because it's an effective anti-bacterial agent.
  11. Nope, unfortunately, even that won't be enough. There's just not enough hours in a day. @Christopher Let's see if the Bat signal can draw Chris out. I never got the notice that Cany made this quote in my email.
  12. I almost exclusively use Firefox (on latest version 38.0.5 right now), and it's very rare that I have problems. If I remember correctly, Chris mostly uses Chrome. Might try that instead of Internet Exploder.
  13. Buried in work and spending insane hours there. By the time I get home, there's only been time for a quick shower then bed. Being an adult sucks.
  14. Funny that you post this today. I was just reading about it this morning but I don't remember where...
  15. Are those who get the errors on desktops, laptops or mobile?
  16. Very nice review, Jason! You'll have to comment back in a few days to tell us if you still like it as well.
  17. Good for you! And glad to see you back.
  18. Yes. It would also apply to personal mobile fog machines -- just in case you'd want to act out a dramatic night scene with the scary fog from Dracula or something at the spur of the moment.
  19. Many members here just keep more than one tank around just for this purpose. We put a different flavor in each tank so all we need to do is change tanks when we want to change flavors.
  20. If that comes to pass, I can see someone marketing an RDA as "New Age Art" or some such to bypass the restriction.
  21. "Medicinal alcohol" tends to leave a film on parts that I prefer not to vape. Vinegar wouldn't taste very good should some remain on the wick so that's a no. Boiled water would be okay as long as you don't leave rubber O-rings in it too long (might melt it or damage other parts if it gets too hot). My preference is to use warm to hot water to rinse and then soak in Vodka for a few hours then rinse well under warm/hot water and let dry overnight.
  22. They're into what they can sell. All too often, it's not about what's best for the customer. When you do find a store that really takes into consideration what the customer really needs, it's pretty rare but a precious find. When you go back to the store, see about maybe getting a Kanger Pro Tank 2, an air flow controller, and some 1.8 ohm coils. I think you'll be happier with the much simpler set up until you're ready for something more advanced. ETA: And while you're there, think hard about getting a back up. It doesn't have to be anything fancy or expensive, just a stick battery like a Vision Spinner (the first one, not the version 2), a charging cord and AC adapter, and some more tanks. You can never have too many back ups. That's what keeps you from going back to the analogs.
  23. You really can't go by just looking at the coils alone. There could be a short like Bebop and Earthling said (more than likely there is a short), and that wouldn't be visible to the naked eye. Since you're new to vaping, I would also advise you to take it back to the store you bought it at and have them troubleshoot it for you. In my opinion, they should've set you up with a simpler tank and coil system, more a plug and play kind of thing to get you started like a Kanger Pro Tank 2 or 3, Aerotank 2, or Anyvape Davide. This one that they sold you is for more advanced users.
  24. What's strange is that it's not very sweet but it feels very sweet, if that makes any sense.
