BirdDog got a reaction from Compenstine in Harsh throat hit at low nicotine levels?
I have actually tried this. A suggestion from some random member in video chat a few years back. I had bottles of VT Clove and Mentha. Both flavors were really good, but not an all day vape for me. This was before tanks and direct drip was the go to. A couple drops of Clove with a drop of Mentha. It was pretty good. I was impressed. Nice throat hit without the big burn. The mentha added a bit of sweet flavor while killing the clove from reminding me of Easter Ham.

I don't regret my days of vaping the cigalike, I got some nice clouds (relative for the day) from dripping a 801. I can say they were not cheap lol there were pricey back then! Prices have come down and quality has grown leaps and bounds in just a few short years. Like Bird Dog we started when Vaping was just getting started. When I signed up to VT there were only about 2.5-3k members and had started one of the first B&Ms with Cigalikes and freshly made USA Juice.

You may have smoked lights, but you were smoking almost 2 packs a day. Light version style cigarettes do not mean less nicotine. Several factors affect how much nicotine your body took in. How large of a draw, time between inhale/exhale and the amount of cigarettes smoked in a day.

I agree with Tam and Troy. Vape what works for you. It is okay that you are using 24mg to start out. You may find you start vaping less than you were smoking. When you feel you are ready take the next step down. It is okay to mix up your mg levels during the day too. You might need 24 mg earlier in the day but find that something lower works better towards the evening.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

BirdDog got a reaction from Compenstine in How long till you needed to replace your battery?
As I get older, my days and years run together. The original eGo batteries are actually older than 2 years. Probably closer to 3 years.

I also have a eGo PT, the larger version (1000?), closer to the 2 years old. The thing will not die. I didn't use it as a PT much, it made my computer act strangely. I also had the same experience that you had not too long ago with an Evod tank. Awesome! I have an old box of LR cartos that I will be using with that battery.

As a side note, I cracked my first tank today. Pretty sure it wasn't the fault of the current liquid. Can't remember what I had in there last. I have a feeling it was due to dropping. Really had to take a good look at it, almost thought a cat hair ended up in the tank. But a milestone in itself!

As a vapor that has been around for awhile, I don't argue with private establishments about their no smoking/no vaping policy. I also don't get my panties in a bunch about it. It is what it is. I can vape in my house, car, outside, with friends and in some public places. If I have to go to the smoking area, I welcome it. I am with people who don't give shit and have been shunned to ends of the earth. Nothing new to me.

If I go to a private establishment and they ask me not to vape, I accept it. This is the unwritten rule amongst veteran vapers. Sure this makes us mad and we feel we are being treated unfairly because the information they have is not accurate. We educate and hope that they look further into the matter. Some establishments have no choice, laws have been passed that lump vaping with no smoking laws.

Vaping does not fall under the category of freedom in regards to religion, color and the broad category of sex. Although I can see vaping becoming a new religion. Private establishments have the right to ban whatever they want, as long as it doesn't infringe on the above. So the courts have said lately to private businesses and in the past.

I don't care how whacked out (my word) the establishment is and whether or not I gave them $20, if vaping is not allowed I don't argue it. I just become smarter. I stealth vape, use the restroom, find an inconspicuous area, or I just don't patronize them again. I also have complete control of my vaping habits. Even if it interferes with other pleasures/obligations I am seeking at the moment. I can go easily 8+ hours without a vape.

Now I want to address some other comments you have made in regards to your post. This forum does not condone or appreciate the mention of physical pain or harm done unto others. We don't care if it is a lifestyle choice, it is not appropriate for this forum and the contents we are discussing. For most people, that join this forum, this is not what they signed up for. I get the comparison to what you are trying to convey, but even BDSM people have a safe word. Obviously vaping is one of them.

BirdDog got a reaction from Tam in Big Rig drivers...
When I was about 12 y.o. I got a ride in a big rig. A friend of the family was a driver and had his truck at home. He demonstrated how it started up, unlocking the trailer brakes and then took us out around the neighborhood. We had a big loop in our development about 2 miles long. It was fun and I got to brag to the other neighborhood kids. This was during the whole truck craze thing in the 70's that you all were chatting about.

I did get to drive a one of those local hauling trucks a couple times. We used it to move merchandise from a warehouse to the University during football games. It was an experience trying to navigate a large truck around drunk students and packed parking lots.

My dad had a CB installed in our van when I was growing up. It was fun on long trips to listen to the chatter. I did talk to a few truckers and a group of people traveling to a Corvette convention while we were out traveling ourselves.

I have to agree with Tam, everyone should spend a some time in a large truck. I also want to add motorcycles to that list. Having done both has made me a better driver.

BirdDog got a reaction from kitsune in who dubbed this term?
It has been around since I made the switch. Don't know how it started or who started it. I have been vaping for over 4 years. It was a term we used to distinguish a cigarette from the electronic version.

Used as an adjective to contrast with digital. Think of a clock that uses hands to tell time vs. and digital displayed numbers.

Cartomizers by themselves are very inexpensive. Why not get a pack and try it out? Just like anything else with vaping -- only you can tell if it's for you or not.

Not that it matters, but I have #92. I think I received mine about 3 years ago. That should be an idea about how many Mark has gifted to people. Each creation is unique and adored by the receiver. Except for Jeff who wants to sell his for $2000.

Attached the coil to the battery. Hit button. No liquid involved. Short bursts recommended. Usually done to burn off residual liquid or water.

Will it extend the life? Not really. You could also burn or break the coil while doing this.

BirdDog got a reaction from Compenstine in Filtered drip tip
Okay guys, the OP just asked a simple question. Even I think it is out of the ordinary and not in the norm of what we call vaping. But he likes and wants to use a filter. To each his own. It is not like he is asking how to stack batteries or something. I don't see how a filter is going to cause any harm to himself or others. So stop giving him such a hard time.

    @Comp - nice video.

I am sorry, but I have yet to see filters for ecigs. You could try these http://www.litecigusa.net/Joye_510_Blank_Cartridges_p/510blank.htm

They are the original cartridges that came with 510 atomizers and were meant to be filled with liquid. They have a poly fill and could work as a filter. The should fit in any tank that uses a 510 drip tip.

This is the closest thing to a filter that I know of.
