  1. Uwell's honesty and analysis is thorough and refreshing. I respect that, I might have to look at more Uwell products again, when I'm back in the market for a tank.
  2. Max VG could literally mean anything ranging from 70/30 to say 95/5. I hate it in fact, it's a cop out (imo) from actually having to tell us what the actual numbers are. And it's possible that you just got a poorly made coil. Since they're mass produced, that does happen on a occasion. Personally I'm more than fine paying two dollars a pop online for my coils. I visit local B&M stores on occasion, but they never have my coils, which I pretty much expect at this point. I use a not so popular tank, the Eleaf Lyche (primarily). I have a baby beast tank and a uwell crown that I use for testing my own personal juice mixes, but that's pretty much all I use them for these days.
  3. Yeah I figure it'll be interesting to see what comes out of this. lol I have this raspberry blue berrywith a hint of orange cream floating around in my head. We'll see...
  4. Awesome, thank you! Yeah I figure there's a learning curve, once I find something that works, I can vape that for a while until I work some other flavors out.
  5. Yeah that's the ratio I was thinking with this orange ice cream and (as of yet) unknown cream, a 15/5. Bavarian eh? Sounds like it might be just the thing. Do you Steep it or let it sit rich? If so, can you tell me for how long? I appreciate the suggestion!
  6. Thanks for posting! I read it earlier, but as educated Vapers, are we really surprised at the findings? I honestly wasn't. I don't Vape in the house because my wife doesn't want it around the kids, I understand that, respect that, and agree with it from an exposure and ethical standpoint. But considering the ingredients of what goes in our juice, by and large there's not a whole lot of "harmful substances" to begin with, especially when you compare it to the alternative. I want to see more studies like this for sure, because once enough study has FINALLY been done, maybe people will finally see the light, that Vaping isn't anything like big tobacco, not even remotely close. And to lump us the same category as that nonsense is imo, absolute nonsense. Keep, on vaping guys!
  7. So I mixed up a small batch of orange ice cream earlier, some with and some without sweetener. This flavor was my main concern on how it would work out, so I wanted to start with it first. I wanted to start out with a baseline, to know exactly where I am with the flavor I'm working with. It's an 80/20 VG/PG mix. Followed it up with some steeping. I just got done testing it on my old kanger Kbox with a baby beast and it's pretty much what I expected. The orange is over powering and while the cream is THERE, it's not enough to tame it. The erythritol sweetener helped to a point, but not enough to cut the orange to a manageable point. I'm going to need a cream of some sort to cut it with. Any suggestions on some sort sweet cream to cut it with? I'm figuring on something like this for a second go on this flavor (10 ml mix): 1.5 ml Orange Icecream (in PG) 0.5 ml of some sort of sweet cream (presumably in pg) 0.5 ml of Erythritol (5% sweetener mix in a VG base) 7.5 ml of a the VG/Nic mix I have should land me at an 80/20 that's cut enough and sweet enough to work. (I hope)
  8. I like Walt, have found that over time, the "throat hit" part vaping is no longer a part of what I am looking for. I started off with some 50/50 stuff at 18 mg of Nic. These days, I lean heavily towards the max VG stuff. Problem is, some Max VG's are like 70/30, which doesn't really cut it for me anymore. I want 80/20 or better from my Juice and I am down to 6 mg of nic. Hell, I use temp control these days because I don't like how hot the vapor gets on wattage mode. I don't need or more importantly, want a throat hit anymore. All I desire is a nicotine system that delivers my vice and brings some nice smooth flavor with it. The end goal is to be done with nicotine completely by the time I turn 40. That leaves me 21 months to work my way down even further on the Nic usage. But definitely, the more Propylene Glycol and the higher your nicotine level, the harder it will be on your throat, regardless. Though personally, I don't find the first few vapes say after sleeping or a long session of being busy at work, to be any different than when I'm in the middle of a chain vape session. But I've been steadily refining my experience over the last 18 months or so. And I'm really glad I finally upgraded to a TC mod, it really is brilliant (to me at least).
  9. Sucks it didn't work out. It's a nice tank if you can get it worked out. I so wish I had the desire to build my own coils, but I really don't have any desire...at all. My wife was already like, what the hell, you're mixing your own juice now? Once I gave her a break down of the cost analysis vs buying premium juice and making my own, the tune changed. It became, as long as you're keeping it out of the way of me and the kids and doing it safely, it totally makes sense. LoL. I've prepared a place in the basement for my "lab experiments". :D. I should finally have all my stuff when I get home tonite. Very excited!
  10. I have the Lyche, been using it for a while. I know a lot of people have had issues. (imho they gave up too soon, because I'm a huge fan of it) I even had some of my own early on. It have the SS316L notch coils at .25 and I use it in TC mode. I usually vape it at somewhere around 400 to 500 F at 40 to 50 w (honestly, that completely varies from juice to juice). I had my own spit back issues at first, mainly because the default TCR for the SS coils was waaaaay off. It was at like .00108, but the sweet spot for me ended up being at .00138. Once I found it, the incredibly hot spitback went away completely. Absolutely no flooding issues at all after that. I love the cup tank, it's so amazingly easy to clean, and unless you overfill the using the side fill, there's NEVER any leakage. The clouds are nice and the flavor is great. Will the tank require a LOT of fidgeting to get it working right? Yeah more than likely, but with some patience, it can really shine. In fact, I definitely prefer it to my Smok Baby Beast tank, which a lot of people seem to love. I had way too many issues with it personally. That however, is a topic for another time in another thread.
  11. I just loaded up some Namberjuice Glacier Banana today. It was the first juice I ever bought when I purchased my original setup a year and a half ago. Hadn't been able to find it since then, but the other day when I was washing out all my empty bottles prepping for mixing my own juice, I came across the empty bottle I originally bought back in the day. I was like damn, I remember that being awesome, so I broke down, hopped online, found a website that was selling it and ordered a couple of 60 ml bottles. It's every bit as delicious as I remember it! (once I found the right temp to vape it at, apparently 500 F at 40w is the winner, for me anyway). And it kicks out some pretty nice clouds on my Smok Alien with my Eleaf Lyche tank.
  12. Haha! That's great! Someone has to put this stuff to good use! :D
  13. Smart thinking! My kids both recently got one. I figure I'll wait for them to be forgotten and then I'll repurpose them also! :D
  14. Thanks cany! Glad to be here! And @Tam, LMFAO! That's hilarious AND apropos!
  15. At this juncture, I can only comment on what I know. I placed the order last Tuesday on their website. The site is plain, but well laid out and easy to navigate, which is good. Shortly after i had placed the order, I had to call them because I had forgotten a flavor I wanted to add to my order. They answered right away and the person who answered the phone was pleasant enough. She didn't wow me with her customer service skills by any means, but she got me taken care of. Later that day, I logged into my account and could see that my order had been modified. The following day the status moved to "printed for mixing". By Friday my package was in the hands of FedEx ground (their ONLY cheap shipping option). According to FedEx tracking my product should arrive tomorrow by "close of business". So all in all, including terribly slow shipping, I should have my product from California to the East coast (Maryland) in a total of 7 business day or 9 days all together. I'll update after I have my items and have begun mixing to give you a better idea of what I think of the actual product itself. This I will say however, the place I got my Erythritol from Nude Nicotine, they may not be overly fast in mixing your product, but their response time and customer service is ABSOLUTELY top notch. I only wish they had better prices on their products. Their VG/Nic base is about 4x the price of e-liq, unfortunately. However, they even offered to answer any questions regarding mixing, which I took advantage of since I'm new. And they were getting back to those in most cases within a half hour, sometimes within minutes. And I only spent what? $7.50 I think. Can't say it often enough or loud enough, that Nude Nicotine's Customer Service is absolutely TOP NOTCH!
  16. Thanks Mama! Glad to be here! I know I've only been here for about a minute, but I'm already feeling like a chose the right community to join. And looking forward to connecting more with my fellow vapers!
  17. Well, it wouldn't be a true forum if topics didn't get derailed at some point. >:-D
  18. Thanks for the welcome all! I've been looking through the forums a bit, looks like there's some great discourse going on around here. Glad I joined
  19. Hi all. I've ordered some stuff to start mixing, most of it coming from e-liq.com. Their prices compared to a lot of places are surprisingly cheap. So I took the plunge with a small batch of flavors and and a premixed VG/Nicotine 6mg base. with shipping I spent about $50 on 16 oz of the base and 8 oz of concentrated flavors (Raspberry, Blueberry, Green Apple, Orange Ice Cream I believe). I also ordered some Erythritol sweetener from nude nicotine, as I wanted to have some sweetener on hand to try out, but choose that one specifically because of it high temperature tolerance and because it's not OVERLY sweet. According to Fedex, my shipments should arrive on Thursday. Looking forward to it, I'm like a kid waiting for Santa arrive on Christmas. Since I placed that order, I have found there are a handful of popular flavor makers that everyone seems to use. I'll have to keep those in mind for later, as I definitely have some concoctions in my brain that may or may not work out. Anyway, just wanted to stop in, say hello, introduce myself and ask my question. I'm sure I'll be back with more questions later once I have everything in hand.
  20. Thanks Tam, I appreciate the welcome!
  21. Hello all. I am new to the forums. I have been searching around online for some time now, because I'm moving into the realm of DIY e-juice. Which is eventually what lead me to signing up here. I started off a year and a half on a Kanger Kbox mini and finally made an upgrade last month. My new setup is a Smok Alien mod with the Eleaf Lyche tank that I had been using previously. I tried using the baby beast tank that came with it, problem is, they don't make a coil for that supports TC. That and the little rubber ring that goes into the top will soak up everything and then expand and not fit right, then the tank starts leaking. So I broke the Lyche back out and with the .25 ohm SS 316 notch coils. I'm actually rather fond of TC mode, as my coils seems to last longer, they don't burn out as quickly and I don't ever run into dry hits if I run low and forget to check my juice level. It took some fidgeting to get it working the way I wanted it to., TCR values were the main problem. I know people say that making your own coils is better for a plethora of reason. To that, I say, I have neither the time nor the inclination to dive into all that. But juice, making MY OWN juice, and experimenting with it, now that sounds like fun! Anyway, I'll stop yacking. Looking forward to starting some convos in the DIY Juice area, might go to do so now actually.
