  1.

I received this product at no charge from the manufacturer because I joined their “secret society” and for the purpose of conducting a review.  That being said…I would gladly buy some of these e-liquids again.

I will admit, I have been eagerly anticipating the release of this particular line for quite a while.  This particular line of Dead Presidents (there is at least one other line I know of that goes by “Dead Presidentz”) is manufactured in Southern California and is distributed by Paradise Vape.

The line currently has four flavors: Washington, Lincoln, Roosevelt and Kennedy.  Each flavor is an 80/20 VG/PG blend and each flavor is currently available in three nicotine levels: 6mg, 3mg and 0mg.

I was notified when the items were shipped so I had time to prepare for their arrival because I knew a review would be in the works.  The liquids were sent to me in 3mg, as that is my preferred dripping strength.  I put fresh dual coil builds at .25 ohms and fresh cotton in two different RDA’s (mutation X v3 and v4) with a re-wicking after each of the first two flavors.  The v3 was on my Infected Mod while the v4 was on my Arthas as these are both solid copper mods with very similar performance characteristics.  This was simply to ensure my taste buds were not affected by residual liquid in the cotton from either of the first two liquids and that I got similar performance from the mech mods I was using.

I decided to vape each one in the same order I listed them above and the reviews of each are listed in that order.  Without further ado….

If you are a fan of dessert liquids, then this whole line might be a line you will enjoy.  Each of their flavors (described below) is a different type of dessert that may appeal to different palates or they could appeal to a single palate.  To me, they were all enjoyable, even though some weren’t typically what I would go for if I were sitting in a B&M trying different flavors.

Washington – Peaches and Cream – This was the first of the four different flavors I tried.  Most of my decision on the order in which to try each liquid had to do specifically with the order each man served as POTUS.  But I can assure you, I was not disappointed in the least that “peaches & cream” was the first flavor that would be dancing across my tongue in this particular instance.

Washington is a very pleasant “peaches & cream flavor”.  On my palate, the peaches take precedent on the inhale while the exhale consists mostly of a very pleasant creamy experience.  My personal rating on this flavor on a scale of 1 stars to 5 stars is 4.5 stars  It’s yummy.  There’s simply no other way to describe it that would do it justice.  Vaping this liquid makes me wish I was sitting on a Georgia plantation eating fresh peaches & cream while drinking any mixed drink made with Southern Comfort.

Lincoln – Butterscotch – This was the second flavor I vaped.  Again, my order of vaping was almost purely based on the order each man served as POTUS rather than what I thought would be the most pleasant to the least or vice versa.

I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not a huge fan of butterscotch.  I personally don’t like butterscotch even when it comes to ice cream sundaes.  I just don’t like it.  Give me chocolate, peanut butter and/or caramel.  This liquid might have changed my mind.

I’ve tried other butterscotch based flavors just to see if those flavors would appeal to my personal taste buds.  Honestly, even when vaping I have never been a fan of butterscotch.  This butterscotch flavor is a game changer.  It wasn’t overbearing.  It was a consistent flavor from initial inhale until full exhale.  Part of that may be due to the 80/20 VG/PG blend and the fact VG isn’t a flavor carrier or it may be due to a very careful formulation of this particular flavor.  Would I buy it?  Probably not.  Butterscotch simply isn’t my thing.  But it is a very nice vape and if you like butterscotch I would highly recommend it.  My personal rating on this flavor would be a 4 stars out of 5.  That rating is purely based on the fact that butterscotch simply isn’t my cup of tea.

Roosevelt – Lemon Meringue Pie – I am a lemon fan.  I am a HUGE lemon fan.  My normal ADV is a lemonade/menthol liquid that is made locally in San Diego by a local shop.  I love citrus and I love tart berries.  I had high expectations of this flavor and it certainly didn’t let me down.  If you are a fan of lemon meringue then this won’t disappoint.

This vape consists of a mild lemon inhale.  Slightly tart, slightly sweet.  Just the way a lemon custard in lemon meringue pie should be.  The exhale is a perfectly balanced meringue.   A bit sweeter than the lemon inhale, but that should be expected.  Delicious.  Simply delicious.  Try it.  My rating on this flavor is 5 stars out of 5.  I love lemon, though.  My “go-to” drink is just about anything with bourbon and lemon pairs very well with bourbon.  I love this particular flavor.

Kennedy – Churro and Ice Cream – Do you remember those churros you used to get at amusement parks as a kid?  Or perhaps those churros you still get at an amusement park as an adult?  Well guess what…now you can get that in a vape.

I think I was about 12 years old the first time I ever had a churro at an amusement park.  Churros…those cinnamon flavored pastries found at vendor carts around places like Disneyland.  Sugar and cinnamon…what kid wouldn’t like that?

Top that off with a little more than a hint of vanilla ice cream and you have a hit.  This vape is delicious.  The cinnamon takes the lead in this particular vape, but it isn’t a hot cinnamon like cinnamon candies.  This is like the cinnamon you would expect when you make cinnamon toast or when you get, well…a churro at your local amusement park.  Sweet yet spicy.  I may have found a new dessert vape.  This would pair well with a dessert coffee or…bourbon.  Imagine that.  (Of course, I can find an excuse to vape anything with bourbon.)  This one gets a 5 stars out of 5 from me.

As a side note, I’m actually surprised the company didn’t go with something cherry related for Washington.  Who doesn’t remember the story of young George Washington chopping down a cherry tree?   If they do want to follow that logic, I could easily see them introducing additional flavors.  Perhaps a Peanut Butter flavor for Carter and/or a Jelly Bean flavor for Reagan.

There is only one thing I honestly don’t like about any of these liquids…they are all green.  I don’t mean simply tinted green…they are green.  Like Crayola Crayon green.  It might look really cool in a tank and quite frankly I haven’t tried any of the liquids in any tanks, only in RDA’s.  What makes them green?  Is it simply a food coloring or is it something else?  I want to know what I’m inhaling so adding that to the ingredients would be nice.  The labeling does  a fine job of letting people know the product designed as a “smoking cessation device”, which is appreciated in light of the current situation with vaping in general.  They are also very careful to let us know the PG/VG is organic.  But tell us what else is in it.  Admittedly that is the advocate in me coming out, but I’m sure there are non-advocates out there who would like to know what they are inhaling as well.

If you’re a cloud chaser then the 80/20 VG/PG blend should appeal to you.  I’m not a cloud chaser, although I enjoy the clouds.  These liquids all produced very nice clouds for me.  To give you an idea, I was taking 1 to 3 second drags with each of these liquids.  I was in my “mancave” (aka garage) and the ambient temperature was close to 100 degrees with minimal humidity.  I was still producing clouds thick enough to block my computer screen and TV screen.

All in all, all four of these flavors were a very nice vape all the way around.

  2. California voted not once, but TWICE against gay marriage.  Those aren't necessarily my personal views, but statewide the voters voted against it two different times and it was still overturned.  All a moot point now with the Supreme Court's recent ruling but still...you're right FXRich...what ever happened to "Government of the people, by the people, for the people"?

  3. I've been saying we should do away with the representative democracy we have since i was 13. With the access to internet we have these days theres no reason at all we don't decide collectively as a nation our large bills, problems, elections etc. A direct democracy is really the only true form of democracy. Representatives were important 300 years ago when people had to ride in a wagon 4 towns over to cast a vote. They're simply not necessary anymore.

The "representative-to-population" ratio also wasn't skewed 250-300 years ago the way it is now.  445 idiots making sometimes life altering decisions for a nation with close to 350 million people?  Seriously?

  4. I can't see that happen thought, they will have to ban each ingredient individually....PG, VG, Nicotine, and the artificial flavour. They " may " ban nicotine in e-liquids, but that won't stop vaping, as for nicotine isn't a necessary ingredient in e-liquid.... also... they won't ban pharmaceutical grade nicotine neither, for obvious reasons.

As for the Vaporizers, without the e-liquid they are just a device, a gadget, hard to see how they going to ban those...

I can very easily seeing it going to a black maraket system just like prohibition in the United States in the 1920's.  I speak to a number of people almost daily, certainly weekly, who are already prepared to obtain the ingredients to make their own e-liquids should e-liquids and refillable tanks be banned.  I'm prepared to do the same.  This is the first method I have tried that successfully kept me off of analogs and I'll be damned if I'm going to go back to supporting Big tobacco in any method.

I know this is an older thread, but since it has been resurrected, there are some other things I think lobbying/advocacy related some members may not be aware of.

I saw a comment regarding lobbyists, CASAA and CASAA not having a presence here on the forum.  We may not have an actual CASAA presence, but we do have CASAA members.  I think Comp is a CASAA member (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).  I'm a CASAA member.  There may be other CASAA members.  I certainly won't speak for any other VT members who may be also be CASAA members, but for me, any member with a legitimate advocacy idea is more than welcome to PM or message me and I'll do what I can to get those ideas out there.  I mostly use social media in the form of Instagram and occasionally Facebook, but just this past week I registered a web domain name and have secured web hosting for an advocacy website...not lobbying, just advocacy.  Now I just need to start building the site.

In addition to CASAA, there is also the AVA (American Vaping Association), The Vaping Militia and Not Blowing Smoke who are dedicated to vape advocacy and vapers' rights, small businesses and even lobbying to an extent.  Not Blowing Smoke was originally formed as a reaction to California's "Still Blowing Smoke" campaign, but I they are doing what they can to take their message and provide support nationally.  CASAA shares a lot of "Calls to Action" for each state and the FDA, but I think their primary focus is on the FDA.  The AVA has interests on both a state and federal level.

In addition to those groups dedicated to vapers' rights, there is SFATA, the Smoke-Free Alternatives Trade Association.  They represent manufacturers of devices, e-liquids, distributors, B&M's and to an extent, consumers.  There is also AEMSA, the American E-liquid Manufacturing Standards Association.

  5. Rats. Tapatalk app wont let me post a photo. But, I finally got a Cherry Bomber wood box mod (clone). Just can't get a pic of it to upload.

Tapatalk should let you post photos. I do it all the time, including the following pic of some recent acquisitions that I haven't shared yet. 013494f8636fa4c1d651136ffc16ef82.jpg

  6. Just get a Windows tablet, they are surprisingly good for social media and browsing..I can even play PC games on it, a bit hard with a touch screen... but how cool is that ? It will even run program's like photoshop....

I'll take my Linux based Android devices all day long over a Windows tablet. My iDevices are work issued or I would never have even touched them. :P
  7. Well, that's interesting. I'm on iPad now and my safari browser is identical to what you have posted there except I do not have the very top where I do not have the same address bar and I do not have the three vertical dots.

ive hunted around and I can find nowhere to switch to desktop mode.  :(

Bebop, if you were referring to the second pic with the three vertical dots, that's the Google Chrome browser for iPad, not Safari.
  8. Disregard my comment about it not working in Safari.  It does.

From Safari browser: after bringing up the website, tap the address bar to bring up your bookmarks/favorites.  Drag down and you will have the option to "Request Desktop Site".   This works for both iPad and iPhone, though if you want to chat, I highly recommend landscape mode.

    Safari screenshot:

Most will probably stay with the native Safari browser, so that should work.  If you do use Chrome on an iDevice though, the following should help you out.

In the top right corner of the Chrome app there will be three vertical dots.  Tap those dots and a menu will open that will include the option to request the desktop site:

    chrome.thumb.PNG.229f77a554fb2d544e1fb7b

I'm normally a PC user at work or tapatalk on an Android device when mobile, but I'm familiar with most Android browsers and I'm pretty sure they all have an option to switch to desktop mode somewhere.

  9. Welcome to VT

I've only been vaping 4 and a half months.  I can't think of any negative side effects unless you count the sore leg muscles because I can actually get out and run more than 100 feet without getting winded.  No negative side effects unless you count an enhanced sense of taste and smell.  No negative side effects unless you count not smelling like an ashtray all day long.  No negative side effects unless you count "hobby" expenses.

In all seriousness, this is the best I have felt in 27 years.  I should have started vaping sooner.  I really have started running.  I'm getting ready to buy a road bicycle to start training for a duathlon, which has always been a goal of mine.  The support I have had from family has been top notch.

Like Earthling said, most of the mis-information (and in some cases, straight out lies) being told about the "dangers" of vaping are ultimately related to dollars...whether they are dollars in the pockets of Big Tobacco or dollars in the coffers as a result of taxes.  Are there dangers?  Sure.  But studies are starting to show vaping is nowhere near as dangerous a traditional tobacco in the form of cigarettes, snuff, chewing tobacco, cigars or pipe tobacco.

  10. The bill had actually already passed the Senate and was being evaluated by a committee for movement into the Assembly.  This particular battle was won.  Certain amendments to the bill were proposed and the committee voted to move the bill forward with those amendments.  Senator Mark Leno, the primary author and sponsor of SB140 did not like it with the amendments and he has essentially walked away from the bill, taking his support for SB140 with him.

The bill is now "being held in committee", which I think is legal-ese for "it's going to sit here and collect dust unless someone else wants to re-write it".

Basically, this was a battle won for vapers in California, but we know the war is far from over.

  11. For those interested (and Californian vapers should be):

California Senate Bill 140, which would redefine all vaping devices and e-liquids as "tobacco products" under California State Law is set to go before the Assembly Governmental Organization Committee today at approximately 1:30 PM Pacific time.  I believe members from the Northern and Southern California SFATA chapters, NotBlowingSmoke.org, CASAA and possibly some other vape advocacy groups will be in attendance to speak before the committee.  I will be watching it stream live provided I can find the link.

  12. Two thumbs up for the review on the Evil Monk, Everyday Vaper.  I think it's great how Hyon's little stunt has backfired and now the Evil Monk RDA reviews are starting to multiply like rabbits.

For those of us who were following the pi squared, the Evil Monk is similar in nature in that it is postless, but it isn't a true flat deck like the pi squared.  So the little stunt by Hyon was really a sad display of a company over-reacting.  It isn't like Hyon was the first to come out with a postless deck anyway.

Even sadder about the whole situation, because of the way Hyon gone about this, they have not only alienated non-customers over the stunt, but they have also alienated some of their customers, including me.

  13. That's completely subjective and you're likely to get several different responses.

Technically, I would say the "healthiest" wattage would be zero watts...as in not vaping at all (while also not smoking).

Different liquid flavors, different PG/VG blends, different nic levels, different coils...all are going to have some effect on the wattage. Personally, I usually vape between 3.8 and 4.2 volts on my regulated devices.  That is usually determined by the particular liquid I'm using.  Some I like a little cooler, some I like a little warmer. The wattage ends up varying a great deal for me based on which tank or RDA I'm using and the coils in those tanks or RDA's.  I use anything from .15 ohm coils in my RDA's to 1.2 ohm coils in some of my tanks.
