As Rixter already mentioned, Kanger makes nickel coils for the sub tank "family", plus I think I read (or saw a video) that mentioned Aspire is making or will be making nickel coils for the Atlantis tanks.Looks like Im gonna have to get a tank that uses premade nickle wire coils lol I dont have the mod yet and its costing me money lol
I'm sure we are about to see the market flooded with more nickel coil tanks in the near future and I will likely end up being the proud owner of several more tanks...lol.

I use so many different tanks I couldn't recommend just one, although lately my Arctic is my go-to tank for higher vg liquids (such as my max vg PBFB from Fadora). But I routinely switch things up depending on which juice and the PG/VG blend. All of my tanks hold somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 to 3.5 ml of liquid.

Not sure what you mean by airflow below the drip tip. Coil must be between airflow and drip tip.
I think he means something similar to the new Atlantis V2:

The size difference actually makes sense. Both of my mech mod's are larger than 22mm in diameter and a 23mm atty would look great on either.
I haven't built any vertical coils on any of my rba's. From what I remember though, the Herakles coils are vertical and the Kanger OCC coils are horizontal. I get better vapor and flavor from a .6 ohm coil in the Herakles than I do from a .5 ohm coil in the subtank
I still have a brand new UD igo w8 in it's box that is a prime candidate for vertical coil builds. I'd be more than happy to do a vertical build comparable to my typical horizontal builds and check the differences though.

Just throwing ideas out there. My brother, (who has absolutely zero interest in vaping but fully supports my vaping as long as it keeps me off analogs) has already asked me if I'd like him to take a look at my Arctic and my Herakles because he knows he can replicate and combine the best features of each into a single tank.
Also forgot to mention in my other post that I agree with Tug on the 22mm. It seems to be the "standard" most are shooting for.

I was actually sitting in my favorie local vape shop last night with a couple friends when the shop manager (also a friend) showed me a couple of rather innovative looking rdas that are getting ready to hit the streets. I won't mention names, but I will tell you this much...both had side screws in the base rather than the traditional posts. They both looked like they would be a lot of fun to build on. The problems...one is going to sell for $150, the other has no juice well. Literally no juice well. Just a flat deck. But if you want to think that direction...side screws in the base for the coils with the coils mounting in the base (but with a juice well), it might be something worth looking into.I considered starting with Teflon drip tips, but enough of them out there already. It will defiantly be a challenge to build a better RDA.
Even better would be a RDA that converts to a RTA
Other ideas I have been throwing at my brother (who is also a machinist) basically involve top fill sub-ohm tanks with two completely separate bases...one that uses factory coils (a la Kanger sub tank, Aspire Atlantis, Horizon Arctic, etc.) and the other base would be an RTA, like the Kayfun or Lemo. Literally two completely different bases, not like the sub tank that uses factory coils but has the rta option that goes in the same base.
Just some ideas.

Sometimes you just need to take a step back, take a deep breath and clear your head. You'll get it. And that first successful build will be one of the most satisfying builds you will ever do.
And sometimes the best advice to follow can be your own.
I edited my own comment from a couple of weeks ago to shorten it, but part of it dealt with me having a helluva time getting a consistent coil on my Lemo. The ohms would jump all over the place. In frustration, I shelved it for a bit.
Well, I unshelved it last night and decided to troubleshoot the issue. Turns out the problem was a loose post [emoji15].
I tightened the post, built a coil and it fires consistently every time now.
Sometimes you just gotta take a step back and let your brain regroup. 😄

Corrupt examples of administration in all states. Yes, in spite of all these bills being pushed "in the interest of public health", it's really about filling the state coffers. If politicians and departments of public health were truly interested in public health, they would have banned tobacco products entirely long ago.Absolutely it's about the money lol. This jas got to be one of the most corrupt examples of administration ever.
*sarcasm on* public health is such an altruistic endeavor. *sarcasm off*
It's flat out criminal
Yep. DIY or black market, one way or another people will find or create loopholes.Bootleg ejuice will become very popular in Indiana.

I just did an extensive search and found nothing on this being signed by the Governor yet. As far as I can tell it is still in the "Being Fought Stage."
https://iga.in.gov/legislative/2015/bills/house/1432
Check that link. When you hit the page, click the link on the left side of the screen that says "Bill Actions". The very first "action" listed is: "H 05/05/2015 Signed by the Governor"

This bill (HB 1432) was signed by Indiana Governor Mike Pence yesterday.

This was my very first successful attempt at a Clapton coil (second attempt overall).
It's a little sloppy, but I'll get better. Even with the sloppiness, I've had two friends make requests for coils. This one took me a total of about about 5 minutes from start to finish. That time included swiping a "Hello Kitty" band-aid from my youngest for my thumb (be careful when wrapping wire around wire for a Clapton coil...you CAN cut yourself, and cutting yourself can put a huge damper in making Clapton coils).
This one was 30g wrapped around 22g. I was using it as a learning experience, not for function. I have some 32g and some 36g wire on order. Should look a little cleaner with the smaller gauge wire.

Yep. Once I got my first sub ohm tank (subtank mini) I pretty much had to lower my nic. I had already dropped from 18 - 12mg nic, but I had to go down to 3-6mg nic max because anything higher made me sick to my stomach and/or lightheaded. To the credit of the guy at the B&M where I bought that my subtank mini, he did warn me about nic levels while sub-ohming. I personally haven't noticed much of a difference between the 50/50 blend of my ADV and the higher VG juices I use, but PG affects different people in different ways (as does nic level). Most people who sub-ohm lower their nic (to something like 6 mg or 3 mg), and increase the VG content of their juices to keep from getting too harsh a throat hit.

Great review Earthling. This Arctic has been in my daily rotation since I picked it up about 3 weeks ago.
I agree with the 4.5 out of 5 stars, but for a different reason.
First, the Arctic can be disassembled...at least mine can:
Yours isn't the first review I've seen where the specific tank being reviewed wouldn't disassemble, so that leads me to wonder if there was a first run and then a second run after fixing the assembly issue (essentially a v1 and a v2 of the same tank.
The half point it loses in my rating is due to the fill slots. It's awesome with a plastic bottle and a tip, but using a dripper to fill the tank is a pain in the butt and can get messy if not careful. Personally, I like to fill and go. I don't have the time to try and be patient while filling.
Again, great review. I don't know why I never thought of doing my own review. Maybe I'll do that with my Herakles.

My neighbor is a volunteer firefighter [emoji1]Hope your neighbors don't call the fire dept. when all that vape rolls out the window.

I got 5x 100' spools of kanthal in the mail today. 100' each of 22, 24, 26, 28 and 30ga. I have a three day weekend ahead of me.This stuff is way too technical for me, I'm still in the kpt2 stage. until recently I thought dripping was when you had a leaky tank. But I did get something in my vape mail yesterday, I got some flat ribbon wire and a coil master. Now I'm tearing apart perfectly good KPT coils so I can rewind them. I know it doesn't make sense but I have never been the most sensible person.
Cordless drill is charged up, TwistedMesses is queued on YouTube, three RDA's waiting to be experimented with, the wife works all weekend, the kids will be on a trip with grandma and grandpa, PBFB ready to be vaped....
Oh yes...it's going to be a good weekend.

I'll second that one! One of the first things I did for my mother after I got out of college ... I bought her a new stove... That harvest gold stove from the early '70s HAD to go... LOL. She's also lucky we got a new washer/dryer when I was in HS... those dull green ones from '77 were an embarrassment to wash your clothes in
Don't forget the "burnt orange" from the 70's. Several years ago I "inherited" (read - I was given against my wishes) 3 crock pots from my grandmother - harvest gold, avocado green and burnt orange. Yes, she had one in each of the "in" colors from the 70's. They were meant to coordinate with the décor in her condo at the time - avocado green carpet and her furniture was burnt orange and harvest gold.
I still shudder at the horror of it all.

Or an over-tightened screw that cut through one of your leads.Could be as simple as a loose screw to one of your leads.
