Rixter thanks for the video.  I wish i could hear what he says, he sounds informative.  Maybe my next purchase should not be vaping gear but a hearing aid as my wife keeps yelling at me and my responce to her  is what did you say?  ;-)

i am  not an expert in temperature control but my basic understanding so far is  that nickel wire has properties that its resistance changes with heat.  The chip continuously monitors the resistance of the coil and determines the temperature based on on that.  If you use Kanthal, wire temperature control wont work since the resistance is constant.

So since the unit wont let the coil ever get hot enough, in theory you should never burn your cotton.  As your wic holds less juic, the heat rises quicker and thus the unit stops current flow.

Formaldehyde and acetaldehyde are believed to be by products when PG|VG break down from high temperatures, again in theory temperature control should eliminate this.
As your wic dries up the pg/vg left over/residue will burn at higher temperatures if the temperatures are high enough you get the unwanted byproducts.
My question is what is the magic temperature you should avoid.  I cant seem to find any research paper done with a qualified testing procedure.

Sorry if i went off track, perhaps i should have answered this  prior to my scotch.

so we have all played with these coils, the question is what rda do you prefer to put them on.  Some of the good rdas have some small holes in their posts.
Also i like a plain simple coil cause it has the least amount of warm up time, am i mistaken here?
What are your thoughts on battery drain?

if he was a smart owner he would have offered some incentives to keep hanging around or a job even a buy in partnership.  Employees always need to be trained and kept up with the times.  Ever business owner should invest in that theory it will come back 10 folds in sales.

i think it was a little boy clone in black n silver carbon fiber wrap i saw and it looked  pretty nice.  Also i saw a hellboy square rda on one with some crazy drip tip but it did look wicked. but im not paying 125 for it, i just wont do it.....

I like the derringer on it.  for some reason the 80 dollar price tag is holding me back from pulling the trigger on it. But every time i take the tank off my artic to fill it and see just the base and coil it remindsme how nice the derringer looks on the 150.

i put the doge 2 on the sig 150 and ran it at 100w no issues with burning lips or chuff getting hot. here is a pic sorry i wrapped mine so you wont get the full look of white on black

    As promised...pics.
    The Hyon Ruga - #35 (of 50)

The Royal Hunter RDA (the scuff mark is actually on the case, not the atty)

I forgot to take a pic before I wicked it, but it's a basic dual coil. 5 wraps with 26ga Kanthal around a 2.5mm screwdriver. Metered at .27 ohms. It definitely gets the job done. That would be some of Comp's PBFB in max VG.

    And finally...

I had lots of time today and was tidying up some of my vape supplies and ran across an old friend. His name is Russian 91%. I dusted him off, washed him thoroughly and threw in a 26ga 8 warp .8ohm coil, added some raspberry and cream ejuice and I'm in vaping nirvana. Wow! This brings back so much memories. Of course over the past year my building has gotten much better as well as my wicking which leads to such a great and satisfying vape. No huge clouds here just full on flavor.

When has been the last time you have dusted off your shelf, found a trusty old friend and had a satisfying vape reminiscing the days past? If you haven't you might be in for a pleasant surprise.

    Have a great Friday everyone.

i believe you can purchase  either  box mods now for under 100. 100w can fire down to 0.15 ohms while the 150w can go down to 0.1 ohms  the are so close  it would be a personal choice, perhaps go and hold both and see what you like.  They are almost identical in size.  I have the i2 intellicharger and the  luc 4 charger, both work flawlessly.  The luc 4 also comes with a dc plug for using the charger in your car. I agree with all mention batteries, they all seem to work well.  remember to  pay attention to the power your tank can handle ie arctic can handle  up to 100w with the 0.2 factory coil and subtank mini can handle up to 30w with 0.5 ohm coil.

I cannot recommend the IPV-mini enough, paired with Samsung 25r batteries and you get a full day of heavy use (two days of moderate vaping).  If you want something a bit smaller, the Cloupor mini is excellent (and portable), and it also uses an 18650 battery.

30W is plenty for most users, and most tanks, even sub-tanks.  You'll need more than 30W only if you are sub-ohming below 0.5 Ohm coils.

For the price, only a few bucks more, the IPV-mini2 (70W) is a great deal, and will give you that extra power when you need it, if you need it later.  Either of the IPV-minis feel GREAT in your hand, too....

If you don't want a replaceable-battery APV, the Eleaf iStick 50W is a good choice too.  Plenty of power, huge battery life, and capable of firing sub-ohm coils... and you can get them for under $50 (with nothing more to buy).
