DragonGunner got a reaction from Patricia in Have yall seen these new carved wood batteries?
I could see these things flying off the shelf big style if it were a mech mod or mod with a dna20. I wonder if its even possible? From my puny perspective I think it could be done. I mean wood is way easier to customize than stainless steel right and much more cost effective. Damn if only I paid more attention in wood class.

DragonGunner got a reaction from ChrisP in Happy Thanksgiving Vapor Talk
I want to wish everyone on Vapor Talk a Happy Thanksgiving. I want to take this opportunity to give thanks to all those VT members who have helped me successfully quit analogs and for helping me improve my vaping experience over the past 8 1/2 months. I'm missing Thanksgiving this year (overseas) so please have a huge plate of food for me.
May God bless you and your families.

DragonGunner got a reaction from 3Rutez in Cloning Clones
Bummer dude sorry to hear about your misfortune. At least you weren't buying what you thought was an original and paid big money for a clone. That would truly suck and I'm sure there are those out there who have had that happen. Posts like this although the misfortune of the one who got duped, is a staunch reminder for the rest of us to make double certain what we are buying and where we are buying it from.

Personally I love the ritual of making my own coils. I LOVE making coils. For me this is my Zen moment.

DragonGunner got a reaction from Havamal in The ProTank 2 is the BOMB!
I only have 2 in my rotation but I will buy at least another 2. I love them now that I have gotten into building my own micro coils with cotton wicks for them. They work and taste flawless and provide huge clouds for me.

DragonGunner got a reaction from spydre in Looking to Upgrade SUGGESTIONS!
If your looking into variable voltage and variable wattage the Sigelei Zmax is pretty awesome and will not break the bank. I dont have the Innokin MVP V2 but from what I read its a solid unit that can do everything that the Zmax can.
If your possibly looking to get into mechanical mods, possibly with a "Kick" (small device that fits into some mechanical mods that makes it into a variable wattage device) and want to toy with eventually rebuilding attomizers, then you might turn towards a clone of some type if you dont want to break the bank. Many clone mods are in the $30-$75 range. Mechanical mod clones that come to mind is the EHPro Electrical Angel mod (great review and one that I use daily), or the new Nemesis clone (I just ordered from Fastech), or the KTS telescopic storm, or even possibly something like the Silver Bullet which is a very solid and time proven mod that takes a kick. Please do keep in mind that there are a couple accessories that you would need if you go this route (batteries and a charger).
Good luck. I'm sure you will find something that suits your needs. Never feel shy to ask questions because everyone here does an awesome job at helping. Take that from someone that still a newb and learning every day.
edit: If you do get into a mechanical mod please read up on how to use them properly.

DragonGunner reacted to bcartervol98 in The down side of properly steeped juice...
I am experimenting with steeping again with my ECblends "Dragons Tear" for Vape Night", but as I have said many times, I have never noticed any improvement or difference between steeping and not steeping in anything but one tobacco flavor that I havent used in months and donated to a military vaping group that ships unwanted vaping supplies to those stationed around the world.

DragonGunner reacted to IMEDICx90 in Proper kick usage
While it's a good practice to let it rest.... There has been no conclusive evidence that it is a bad idea or a good idea one way or the other. It would stand to reason that if you put a bunch of energy into something you should let it rest and stabilize but that could also be personal preference. -

DragonGunner got a reaction from twilightbloom in Eliquid/Batteris on airplanes?
I never use or have used quart sized baggies. I always use gallon size bags. They dont care how big the baggie is as long as its a clear bag. At least in my experience. I would never put any of my vape supplies in my checked luggage. I consider it too valuable for that.

DragonGunner got a reaction from Tam in Eliquid/Batteris on airplanes?
Nope never once has TSA said anything about my bags. I have seen other passengers with larger baggies than quart size as well. My trips come in from Baghdad/Kuwait into Dulles, Washington. From there I fly to Tampa. And the same way out from Tampa to Dulles and back to Kuwait/Baghdad again. I've never had any issues on the legs between Tampa and Dulles. I have yet to fly a different route since I've been vaping.
Good luck but if you want to test the gallon size baggie, take a few extra 5 quart size baggies just in case the TSA who check you have a problem with the gallon size. It will give you guaranteed place to still carry your liquids.

DragonGunner got a reaction from Rixter in How To Rebuild A KPT Head - A Pictorial Tutorial
Thanks for that tip about removing the needle before inserting the bottom grommet and pin. It makes sense. I wasnt actually removing the needle until after the entire assembly was put together. I will most definitely give that a shot. And as in your edit I did notice on earlier attempts that I did in fact push the wick up a tad when inserting the grommet and pin. Seriously though getting a consistent 1.5 ohms was super easy. Almost magical IMO.
I'm using 3.5mm wick just like you have described in the OP.
Thanks.

DragonGunner got a reaction from spydre in Protank has flooding issues.. thinking of trying something else. Opinions?
When I went about cleaning my PT 2 I removed the flavor wick because it was slightly burnt. When I reassembled my tank I replaced the flavor wick. When I began to use my PT 2 I did notice some seepage and gurgling that I had never experienced before. I immediately disassembled the head and noticed that when I assembled the stem to the head that it crushed my flavor wick. It was not laying flat on top of the wick and coil assembly. It was skewered off to one side, which would allow fluid direct access to the wick and coil assembly. I made another flavor wick and used as much care as possible to avoid what I just explained. It apparently worked as my PT 2 has not leaked. This leads me to believe that the leakage that I experienced was due to the improper placement of the flavor wick. As a side note whenever I have replaced the the old head all together with a new one, I have never experienced any leakage or gurgling what so ever. YMMV

DragonGunner got a reaction from Uma in Mod question
Thanks Uma, but do you know if its safe to vape without the kick using standard cartomizers in the 1.8-3.0 ohm range?
*edit* or will it burn them without the wattage regulation?

DragonGunner got a reaction from spydre in Vaping around Kids and Pets
I vape indoors and in my vehicle with my son present. I've read somewhere (but I could still be wrong or read the article inaccurately) that nicotine when hits the air almost immediately dissipates rendering anyone in or around it highly unlikely being able to ingest it. That being said I still make every attempt to blow the vapor away from my his face if he is sitting nearby. As far as the vapor (minus the nicotine) is concerned I personally do not think that it and of itself is harmful. It does bother me some that he see's me vaping and on some level might find it cool and eventually when he gets older might want to imitate me, as he does with everything else. His mother still smokes analogs and occasionally vapes. She never smokes inside the house and when she smokes in the vehicle the window is always open/cracked. I have told him that what both of us are doing is not wise and if I ever catch him that there will be repercussions. As far as vaping around my cat, I'm not bothered in the slightest as I feel since I dropped nearly 5k on his hip replacement I have earned the right.
