How long do you think it will take before this thing is nicknamed the Penis Pump mod But all joking aside, Cartos are cheap to replace. To me this is like putting plastic utensils in the dish washer.

I'm also willing to be $10 bucks palermo that you are the owner of Micronix. Especially because that video was posted on Youtube less than 48 hours ago. It was just barley indexed on Youtube and the name Cartojet doesn't even pop up on Google.... You've gotta give the Vapor Talk members a little more credit than that

At 28 years old, (and smoker for 10 years) I was experiencing a "shortness of breath" along with "smoker's cough." It was time to start taking care of my body. That is when I switched to vape (e-cigs) and started feeling better. After 6 months of "vaping" exclusively, this transition (from cigarettes to e-cigs) helped me breathe better. Although it seemed to be helping me "biologically" I also experienced a higher level of productivity in my daily roles. Just then, I realized that e-cigs carry a benefit that is not commonly discussed.

One morning, I was struggling to make it to an appointment on time. I was rushing through my chores, and it hit me. While I was ironing my clothes, I put the e-cig down and continued ironing. There is a fire hazard for non-smokers associated with "regular cigarettes." Just then, I researched some facts. This is what I found:
    http://www.usfa.dhs.gov/downloads/pdf/smoking/GeneralAudienceFactSheet.pdf
    http://www.usfa.dhs.gov/campaigns/smoking/

The #1 cause of house fires is cigarette smoking.. and approximately 1,000 deaths per year are attributed to the same. This information is provided by The U.S. Fire Administration, which is part of FEMA and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

I'd like to know why this/these agencies aren't becoming part of the fight against the FDA's investigations. If I am reducing the risk of burning my family by switching to electronic cigarettes, I think it should be considered in any of the FDA's findings.

Cartos have a built in atomizer, so no. They aren't meant to last as long as a normal atty, but you get 5 for roughly price of one atomizer. To fill, simply load the larger rubber cap (condom) about 3/4 and slowly push carto down into it, threads first. Let it absorb, remove and wipe threads.

It most certainly does affect the taste! I found that, for me, anything over about 12mg and I could really taste the nic. It can be a pretty harsh taste too... depending alot on the nic that is being used. You just need to try different levels and see what works/tastes best to you. The other main thing affecting taste is the PG/VG content. PG tends to carry flavors better... and VG tends to mute them a bit.

If you're just looking for 3.7V, look at the Silver Bullet or Omega from Altsmoke or maybe the Bobmshell from Hotvapes. There's also an eGo style 18650 mod available.

Or you could go with the Provari and have a vari-volt that uses an 18650.

You know one thing I noticed. Even though I'm now a none smoker, is just how appealing a pack of cigarettes is. Any time I go to a gas station to grab some soda etc I can't help but notice the wall of cigarettes. I'd never buy a pack and honestly I just don't crave them anymore, but there is something subtle and attractive about the art work. I can't help but think we're getting mind screwed every time we see a pack. I don't know if it's the colors or what, but I'm willing to bet there is some type of physiological research that goes into those boxes.

That is strange. I would speak with the supplier. I know that VG e liquid does not play well with cartomizers.

hmmm yea I would check it anyway. But honestly if it was the center pole the unit would normally still light up. Basically the center pole is the positive current and the outside (everything else) is the ground. When that piece is pushed to far down, it hits the outer rim. This of course creates a small short and the unit shuts down.

As for the support, July 9th is a long time. It shouldn't take that long to answer you. Have you checked your spam folders?

Most of us(maybe all) had our first smoke when we were very young. As each of you with a few years knows, youth is invincible. As a youth i tried and did a great many things that when i look back, were extremely foolish and dangerous. Smoking cigarettes was one of them. I don't believe that these pictures would have had a nit's worth of impact on me at that age. I could do anything and survive.

    Hey Chris,

The only topic I've been following since I've been away were your announcements. I've been seeing them in e-mail, and now I see the what you've done to the place. Thanks for keeping the forum alive and well. Even with the new look, I still sense some of the old FEEL, and I want to commend you on that. I'll be retiring from the Air Force in one year and moving back to San Diego. Hopefully, someday we'll cross paths and talk about your outstanding achievements all beginning with this Forum.

And I'm loving it. Probably because the only other e-cig I have tried was the blu, and I was not impressed. Yes, the blu has "sex-appeal", but I don't care about the appeal as much as the performance.

I definatly recomend the eGo. I can usually use one battery the whole day without recharging, and the starter kit comes with two batteries.

Cartridges seem to run out faster than with the blu, but I would mainly attribute that to the overwhelmingly better performance of the eGo.

Time is a pretty meaningless concept when applied to atomisers and cartos - what actually reflects true "life" is the amount of juice put through one before it wimps or dies. A good atty should take around 40ml of juice at least before needing replacement. (I know someone who vapes 10ml a day - so that's a "life" of 4 days! I vape 2-3ml per day so life is between two to three weeks or more...)

This is probably one of the best and most interesting posts I've read so far on the forums. I have to say I agree with not only your concerns but your point of view as well. The bottom line is, nicotine is a vice pure and simple much like alcohol and caffeine. The good lord never intend that we ingest these toxins however in one way or another we have been introcuded to nicotine and over the years have become sadly Dependant. Essentially the electronic cigarette is a pacifier (or a dummy if your in the UK) for adults, it is what we use to help overcome the every day stress called life. I find it to also be a great past time. It's extremely relaxing.

That all aside I can't agree more that safety is our number once concern. It is for many suppliers, at least the good ones anyway. Why do you think Vapor Talk was one of the first liquid suppliers in the United States to add child proof caps? Because there is a very real threat of a child getting a hold of something that looks like apple juice and smells like a grape. Unfortunately there are some real "winner" parents out there and we as suppliers have to protect their children. You said you where concerned that a child may some day get a hold of juice and drink a bottle, guess what, it's already happened. (Yes you heard correct) I won't say where and what supplier was involved because it's not needed but it's happened. As far as we know, the child is fine. Luckily.

Truth be told liquid bottles in loose form will cease to exist should electronic cigarettes stay on the market for the long run. Everyone will end up using cartomizers. 2 piece units. Why? Because it's a way to not only control the nicotine levels, but it's sealed thus preventing the cotton from falling out, which of course could be eaten by a dog, cat or child.

Quality control is another major issue that is being worked on continuously. Is PG safe to vape? Let's be honest with ourselves we are on the front line of this new invention, although PG is general recognized as safe by the FDA and is used in many products such as baby wipes, vitamins etc it's never been tested in long term vapor form inhaled by humans. Granted there was a study done on monkeys for over a year, which concluded positive effects, but we really don't know the VERY long term effects. Essentially only time will tell. The general common sense assumption is, traditional tobacco is so bad that you could probably smoke tea leaves and still be better off than smoking tobacco leaves.

I think overall this product is a real step forward in helping dependent cigarette users leave traditional tobacco. Leaving nicotine however is not the ecigs best trait. The original designer of the electronic cigarette (who was inspired after his father died of lung cancer) wanted people to quite smoking with the ecig, however the units worked SO well that people instead, just replaced the delivery form. He never intended persons to use PG over a long period of time. Right now it's up to the user to have the self control to step down. Lucky this is happening more and more often, in fact ex smokers now known as vapers are starting to become more health conscious than they ever where before.

We are still in the early phases and so long as we can get the support of government agencys and watch groups we can perfect the electronic cigarette into a true NRT. Something it isn't now. Many people on the board state "I don't want to stop vaping" to me that's the nicotine talking. I think if we could make it as easy to quite as it already is to switch delivery, we could really see some massive health improvements in society. Something I one day hope we altogether can witness.

Anyway I'm getting off course here, awesome post and some very valid points.

I switched to those LR cartos last summer, but you should be getting better results with regular atomizers. Maybe try varying your drawing style? Try slowing it down a little?
