Like Aimmee has stated... I think you will be surprised after it has "steeped" for a time. I find that the menthols especially tend to need to do this for sure. I know I've had some fresh juices that tasted WACK at first... then after I came back to it later it was much better. Might try that....

Brian and nana are both right...they are a mass product and being an electrical part are subject to inconsistencies. I've had LR atty's last for almost a month and a couple that only lasted 10 mins. There's just no way of knowing. And although regular atty's are "OK" they just don't deliver the same punch.
I would also suggest to you, since you have an Ego, to look into the LR cartomizers. The 2.0 ones I'm using now are great. Good vapor and throat hit, plus the added bonus of not having to drip all day or while I'm driving.
They take a little getting use to, but once you do it really works nice. But like the atty's there's no telling just how long they will last. But I've got one now that is on it's second week and still kicking strong.
So look around and do some research and ask more questions....that's what this forum is all about.

I second the 2.0 Cartos. I got tired of the LR atty's being so inconsistent and moved to 6 volts and HR atty's, which I've had good luck with, but now find myself setting my V3 aside a lot more in favor of my ego pass through and the 2.0 cartomizers. I've had good luck so far with the Boge's, not having one DOA yet and I have yet to have one go south on me in under a week. Actually, I have one yet to outright die on me anyway. I only replace them after I get careless and burn the filler.

Tip: While pricing the individual stores, be sure to read the description of what comes in the kit. Sometimes they include eLiquid or extra atomizers, etc. Sometimes 10 bucks more will get you the basic kit plus 30ml's of eLiquid or whatever.. and some places might have the kit inside an eGo zipper case instead of the mfg box.. (the case is anywhere from 8-20 bucks and avg 12)

Just remembered the Riva kits. They're an eGo clone, but they're darn good at it, and are reportedly a great subsitute for the eGo on a budget. They vary from 29-49. Liberty Flights had them for 29 not too long ago and everytime they restock they're that price. Oh and I heard that myfreedomsmokes has the Pink eGo kits on sale in the 40's (49?)

One suggestion is to stick a paperclip all of the way through, wiggle around, and make sure the hole is nice a free for air. Sometimes people think they are junk when really they just need to be "adjusted" for max airflow.... or the juice/filler will burn right away.

DIY Tips and Info

I know this is a lot of information, but I hope it helps those looking at trying their hand at DIY. Keep in mind, This is just my own experience.

PG and/or VG are both used as the base of the E-Liquid.

PG/VG can be purchased from most E-Liquid suppliers with or without Nicotine. Unflavored PG or VG with Nicotine can be purchased for the purpose of mixing your own liquids and can be purchased is many strengths.
PG/VG without Nicotine is necessary for mixing your own liquids.

Glycerin can also be purchased from most pharmacies-over the counter. Humco is one brand of Pharmacy Grade (USP) glycerin. It is sold as a skin protectant. It is a clear, slightly thick liquid and has a sweet taste to it.
There is also a Food grade VG- Wiltons- sold at Craft stores in the baking sections. Can sometimes be found at Walmart in the craft section.

Let me start off by saying, I've only been vaping a month. Nothing fancy, just my eGo. After dripping, I didn't think I would try anything else. I've enjoyed dripping, and using attys. While looking for toys I thought I would pick up a pack of the BOGE 510 LR Cartos from www.vaporkings.com. For the price, I thought they would make a nice backup in the event of an emergency. I also picked up a syringe for filling.

As usual, my shipment came in 2 days after ordering. I really like the fact that they are labeled 2.0 OHM on the carto. It's nice to know off the bat what I've received when I open the package.

For my first experience, I loaded the syringe with 2ml of 18mg Sweet Caroline from iVape.net. Popped off the rubber tip and I pushed the syringe down one side of the filler and slowly pumped in the solution until the top started looking like a slush. Held the 2ml perfectly. I like the fact that these can be filled in a pinch without the syringe, but filling time with the syringe was really quick. I added a trip tip on my stainless steel eGo, and it actually looked kinda cool with the black space between the eGo and the stainless steel drip tip. Took the first pull off the carto and...

nothing.

Tried again, and great flavor and vapor. This experience lasted for the next 3 hours of heavy vaping with no signs of any degradation of flavor or vapor. Each pull felt like the first. Today is day 2, I've topped it off w/o the syringe, dripping slowly down the sides, and it's working flawlessly.

Drippers, next time you put in an order for goodies, please pick these up. Thanks to Dayvape for driving this point home over and over on the forum, I probably would have never picked these up otherwise. Dripping is decent for trying new flavors, but I think I've pretty much settled on my go-to's for liquid. Having these cartos is like a whole new experience, and you really can't beat the price.

It's a 3.7v device still though, so I would recommend you got some LR (low resistance) atomizers or cartomizers to use with it. Cartos might work better for you because there is less hassle than messing with attys, carts, wicking, and dripping. They contain the atomizer and filler in one piece... then you vape for an hour (or more for some folks) then top off with more juice. As always, there is a learning curve with everything, and everyone has different opinions and favorites. Just try all the different methods and see what you prefer.

WTF!!!! I'm just beside myself really... not going to get worked up about it, but just shocked that this is happening. Once again, BS is following right along side me... just like it's used to doing. I sent a PM because he asked to be contacted in that way. I did so offering WAY more than even necessary to get someone started vaping, and simply stated what had happened in the past and that it was of concern of mine, and I get this kind of response? I didn't really think that any of what I stated was out of line in the least. I'm actually quite glad that I have a cautious attitude about helping out strangers... otherwise I think I would have fallen victim to trickery once again. I need to stop thinking that all people are honest and good... because that is certainly not always the truth. CARRY ON.

Unbelievable. That is all that comes to mind. I was actually going to send this person 2 regular eGo batts, 1 mega batt, 3 attys, USB charger, and juice. I think I'll hold onto my stuff and stop trying to be nice. It's not worth the effort for what ends up happening. Sad really.

That's funny you mention your eGo... because what I was thinking about giving you is 2 standard eGo batts, 1 Mega batt, a USB fast charger for the batts, various atomizers, and whatever else I find to throw in.

What do you think about something like this package? I mean, someone could honestly start vaping right away with nothing else to purchase right away.

By the way, just so you know... there was a guy on this forum who started up a discussion about how he was a soldier over in Iraq with a bunch of his "brothers",etc. Then he started sweet talking everyone and acted all upset about running out of supplies, etc.... to the point that a bunch of us honestly felt sorry for him and were totally ready to open ourselves up to him and give him a bunch of free crap!! Well, come to find out, the guy was a total FRAUD and was only there to collect a bunch of supplies at our expense. Luckily, we have a lot of smart people on this forum and they traced his IP address to FLORIDA instead of IRAQ and we were all warned in the nick of time. This is just one of many reasons that I'm reluctant to "help someone out" that is telling a really great story. I guess I will need to sleep on this and let you know.

I just wanted to clear up some things.. I am not a guy.. nor am i into scamming people.. Making threats to me only pisses me off enough to make sure My intentions are clear..
They are to help people who can not do it on their own.. I was raised well and I give what I get etc..

This is just the beginning of adding more and more restrictions on e-cigarettes. I wonder if there are any studies or polls on how many underage persons smoke analogs?

I'm stoked you like them as well as I do! That's great! Yeah, I tend to go a bit overboard maybe... but I just can't imagine why others wouldn't have the same great experience with them that I do! I'd hate for people to give up on cartos just because their first try was a bad experience. It seems like there are alot of people that don't think they put out good flavor or vapor... and I just wonder to myself what they are doing wrong! They just gotta try the good ones, learn a couple easy tips to make them perform well, and maybe then those folks that haven't given them the chance will see why Im such a 'fanboy' of them! I get MORE flavor and MORE vapor than a standard atty!

By the way Schlitz... I'm sure you've read about the 'Taryn Spin' method to use with cartos? You can literally do this and change juices with very little cross contamination... and it also works great to just empty it so you can put fresh juice in one! I usually give each carto at least one REALLY GOOD spin during the time I'm using it... allowing me to use it twice as long as normal because of being able to clean it out and use fresh juice.

I'm diggin' my ENS LR cartos! And mine are 2.0 as well. No issues as of yet... hope you get that figured out. Do you let them sit and soak in good before you start vapin' on it? It helps... I let mine sit for at least 30 minutes prior to using.

And see... I can easily get the full flavor and plumes of vapor with a carto... I'm just guessing here, but I bet you haven't tried a carto with anything other than 3.7 volts? Because I would totally agree with that if I were using a standard carto on an eGo for instance. It's a different ball game at 4.5v and up though.

From what others say... 2 - 3 drops gets you 5 - 7 pulls. I think... I don't know for sure since I only use cartos. Someone will help you shortly. I can, though, recommend that you go ahead and grad up some drip tips! Keeps you from getting juiced all the time. You can use drip tips with cartos or attys, either one, and it definately helps with the 'juice in the mouth' thing.
