Would you expect anything less from me Sharon??

I can say with 100% certainty that I was in no way TRYING to be eloquent anyway... BUT, if I offended you in any way Sharon, I do apologize for that. I do however, take serious offense when people are knowingly taking advantage of beginners, all because they are not educated on all of the devices. I mean heck... look at what you can get eGo/Riva/Tornado kits for now! I'd for sure have much more respect for him if he was offering something akin to those... or at least something that is advertising TRUTHS about the unit and vapinng!! I'm sure we will here next that 'he is not in it for the money, he just likes helping others'... or 'it is the best device out there for new vapers because he researched all the others first'. Heck, I thought it was a joke at first, until I saw his 'website' in his signature and went and saw just exactly what kind of "deal" he is offering out of the kindness of his heart! What an uber-super kind of fella he must be! This tells me everything I could possibly need to know just what kind of person his is... I don't care to discuss anything with him in the future.

As a matter of fact... I did actually 'research' this thing you call an e-cig! I am not quite in the market for one at this time though.
By the way there are plenty of other kits that are far superior in what all is included and the quality of the e-cig itself. Trust me... I don't really think this is a great place to push what you feel is the best thing out there right now, just not going to get great responses I don't think.

    I caught this as funny:
"The safe cig also has an extremely sophisticated flow sensor allowing you to automatically turn itself on only while you are inhaling." So, you think that this 'extremely sophisticate sensor' is only being used in the 'Safe Cig'?? If I recall, that is what is referred to as the 'Auto Battery' that you can get in a kit. I personally prefer a manual button of any kind over the 'extremely sophisticated sensor' that you speak of. To each their own I suppose... and good luck in your venture!

Sorry, but I'm not really in to the little/tiny 'stick type' e-cigs anymore, moved on from those after about a week or so once I discovered MODS.

That is one PRICEY P.O.S. "e-cig starter kit" you got advertised my friend! Wow, I hope nobody falls victim to that crap!

Must be kidding... right? Look at ALL THAT STUFF you get with this "KIT"! WOW!! I'm curious to try out the 'one of a kind carts' that these use... sounds like any and all worries we have will be gone forever with these bad boys! And a 5-pack of refill cartridges is only $12.50 every time you need more... what a deal.

Not trying to bust in on your conversation.... but I couldn't help but notice what you said.
The eGo Passthru would be an excellent idea for you!! They are very reasonably prices as well. Not only can you vape while at the computer... you can unplug it and take it wherever! Battery will last a long time for you since you aren't a 'heavy vaper'. Check it out!

    PG = Propylene Glycol
    VG = Vegetable Glycerin

They are used as bases for e-liquids... you can buy it with or w/o nicotine.
I would buy some plain PG or VG to thin your stuff down till you prefer it.
You can buy VG at many drug stores and walmart type stores... typically in the Beauty section I think.
Its actually used a skin protectant, etc. I dont know where to buy PG except for online... many vendors sell both and are quite cheap. Remember that the PG is much thinner than VG... so decide what you need by looking at how thick your juice already is.

Of course Beans and her mad typing skills beat my cclumbsy fingers.

My guess is that since you are knew to vaping you are probably hitting it a lot...like we all do when new juices arrive, etc. It will more than likely slow a tad when the new wears off... maybe.

    On a side note:

If you guys find that your 510 batteries arent lasting you long enough and you are constantly charging them.... keep the "eGo"/"Riva"/"Tornado"/etc. in mind as your next unit. (they come in all sorts of names due to the fact there are knock-offs abound.) The great thing is all of your 510 'stuff' will work on the eGo batteries. You are basically just upgrading to a much better battery that will provide a more consistent 'hit' throughout its battery life. They dont tend to drop off nearly as quick as the small stick type batts do. So, it will feel like its providing a 'fully charged battery hit', for a lot longer time before dropping off. Just something to keep in mind for the future.

    My two cents:
I have been vaping for almost 3 years and during that time I have been on several different airlines. I try to think about it vaping from someone else's perspective because I don't enjoy conflict. So for example, say you're a passenger on a flight who has no idea what an ecig is (many people still have no clue) and you see what looks like a huge plume of smoke 5 rows up. In our current state of "terrorism" high alerts that can freak someone out. They may think you're the next "shoe-bomber!!"
I know it sounds ridiculous, but that's the current state of Mainstream Media and whatever MSM projects the general public ingests.
So you and I know you are blowing essentially harmless vapor, but Grandma 4 rows back thinks you're BinLaden reincarnated (side note-he died years ago IMO) and freaks out. Do you really want to deal with all that drama???
    Of course not.
If you're like me, you stealth vape a lot in planes and typically non-smoking areas....simply to avoid hassle and misunderstandings.

I could not have said it any better. That was pretty much exactly how I would have put it as well! I know for certain that I MUCH prefer vaping over smoking for many reasons. The main one being that there are so many great flavors out there... how could anyone possibly say that the taste of their cigarette is awesome? What the hell ever... there was nothing that tasted or smelled wonderful when I was a smoker. Now I don't have to deal with having 'ashtray mouth' or nasty smelling clothes either! Oh yeah, and I'm what some would say a MOD JUNKIE at this point, even over a year later. I'm like you Ripple, I call it a 'hobby', but some say I just traded one addiction for another. Those are just the dumb/uneducated individuals that I run across though... so it's all good.

Yeah, if I were you I would try the eGo, along with some 'LR 2.0 Cartomizers'. You can get the good Boge brand here:
LR CARTOS! With these cartos, you can refill them time and time again with the juice of your liking, then just 'top off' every once in a while with juice. Along with the cartos I would also recommend you pick up a couple of 'drip tips' also. DRIP TIPS! They really make using cartos or attys a better experience because they do get quite warm when you are using them. The drip tip will help you in that respect.... not to mention you drip right through it when using atomizers. And with cartos, when you top off with more juice just pop it off and back on when you are done, this is much easier than removing the little white mouthpiece that comes with them.

Other than that... if you want to try atomizers you can pick some of those up and go that route. With atomizers it's much easier/better tasting if you 'direct drip' right on to the coil inside. That gives you 5 or 6 good 'drags' then you just repeat the process when you are ready for more. It's really a personal preference on what method you use... grab both and give them a try.

The eGo is a much higher quality device than some of the really small two piece kits you see. You really want to try and stay away from having to buy prefilled cartridges for a particular device... those really don't get the job done for most people. You can really get a lot more for your money out of the eGo and either cartomizers or atomizers and your own liquid. Besides, the key is to make the transition as easy as possible. This is why I am recommending cartos for you, I just feel like they may be the best option for a new user. You can always try the other methods as well if you want. The eGo is such a versatile device you really can't go wrong.

    Good luck to you!

Give it a easy blow onto a paper towel to clear the airway before you screw it to your device... that should get rid of any juice that you may inhale.

Heck, I'm still trying to figure out why you always tell people "you could use a carto when you are driving or out and about". I guess I'm doing things all wrong then... since the carto is all I use and prefer. Man, someone needs to write up a 'vaping manual', so newbies (and myself) will know what to use where, etc. LOL!

Sorry I've been away for a bit. Here's my method of filling... what works for me may or may not for others, but it never fails for me. Using 100% PG based juices only, works much better anything with VG in it. Trust me, I've tried a lot of blends, 70/30 and 80/20, and went right back to my PG ONLY juices. I know other people say they use blends... but it simply does not wick fast enough for me, not to mention it really changed the flavor and throat hit of my juice... and not in a good way either! OK, now that my PG/VG rant is over I can explain my method.

First, I remove both of the 'condoms' and the little 'buttplug', then put the smaller of them back on the threaded end. I typically push it almost all the way on... but leave a small space. Taking a juice filled syringe, with a fairly small needle, I poke it in to the filler down to the bottom of the carto. When adding juice, gently push on syringe while slowly drawing it up. Repeat this process a few times until filled... don't worry about any juice that comes up through the center or overfilling either. After it's filled to top I take it and give it a good 'thermometer shake'... so that there is a small amount of juice seen in the carto. You should notice that the filler material looks a bit dry after doing this. This helps to spread the juice all through the filler material much better. I then add enough drops till it's to the top of the filler material again and repeat process. Now, the most important part from what I've learned, is to stand the carto up in a shot glass or something (carto still on) allowing it to soak in totally. I prefer to leave it overnight since I already have cartos I'm vaping on. After it has sat, for however long you can let it, it's ready to vape. Remove condom, wipe off any excess juice from it, throw on a drip tip and vape! And as other have said... I toke on it for 10-15 times and set it down for a bit. When it's time for more, I just pull drip tip off and add enough drops till it's nice and wet, and vape away. Some would say: "Why the hell don't you just use an atty then since you have to drip often?" To that, my response is that I actually prefer the flavor/vapor/throat hit of my carto over an atty anyway. And the other reason is that when I did direct drip, I was constantly having to wipe juice up that leaks from the bottom of atomizers. With my cartos... there isn't NEARLY as much of that, rarely actually. It's a hell of a lot easier to over drip and get those nasty 'dry hits' if it's not properly filled. And don't believe em when they say: "I never get 'dry hits' or have leaky atty's"... there lies I tell ya, all lies! Attys just aren't for me... and with cartos you don't have to worry about harsh hits. Especially, if you take the time to 'top off' often, it provides the best tasting/most constancy while vaping for me anyway. Experiences and opinions obviously vary greatly in the 'carto vs. atty' debate... just try to find what works for you and you will be totally satisfied!

Hopefully I didn't leave too much out... I don't know how I could have with the length of this book!

See Sharon, that's the part that gets me to thinkin', the fact that some people actually think I "lash out" at random people as I pass by them on the sidewalks! As a matter of fact... the perception that most folks here have of me couldn't be further from reality. Yeah, I may have 'acted up' a time or two around here... but that certainly doesn't mean that I'm some 'unstable/crazy' person that couldn't "read your kids a bedtime story". (By the way Sharon, that was a good one... had me laughing!) In reality, I'm about as 'normal' as they come if you were to meet me in person. Not to mention, when I type something slightly sarcastic in a reply, I find that I MUST USE emoticons so people don't take me serious and end up pissed off and callin' me out like I'm the Devil. People just gotta understand... this is the first and only forum I've EVER even joined ! I don't let too much bother me... but some people sure do get worked up easily and get all upset at something totally insane that had been typed out in a thread, etc.! I'm fairly certain that I have never threatened to hurt/kill anyone around here either. What is more often than not simply sarcasm in my posts... it never fails what ever I say will end up getting under someone's skin! Oh, and by the way, I actually LOVE kids! I have a 13 y/o girl myself... and I used to babysit my neighbors 4 young girls while they went out all the time! I was even changin' their dirty diapers like you wouldn't believe! Really, I know I seem worthless and mean most of the time, but how can one come to that conclusion from a forum? I mean really... that cracks me up!

If nothing else... I think we must try to not make pre-conceived opinions of others from only interacting with them on a forum, and by what they type in posts, etc.

But thats just me I'm sure... it wouldn't be any fun if we couldn't be that 'internet tough guy' every once in a while and tell someone you hate to shut their mouth. !
