That is weird. I know we all like different tastes, but since I've had such a terrible time tasting any flavorings at all over the last year and the only one I've really been able to taste is Lorann's and you don't think it's that "potent"...amazing. But that's why we have to be careful and let new vapers know how individual tastes are.

Most vendors will not allow eliquid to be returned. They cannot sell eliquid that has been used (they could, but it would be bad for business if anyone found out). And since taste is subjective, they can't allow people to return eliquid just because they don't like it (they would probably get lots of returns). I would recommend going forward that you always try smaller bottles first until you know if you like it. Again, taste is subjective so even if you see a good review on eliquid, that doesn't mean you'll like it. I've had tons of eliquid that I didn't like and it's piled up in a box. I gave away a lot of it here on the forum, and still have quite a bit left. You could put it up for sale (or trade) in the classifieds.

In your case, where you ordered menthol but don't taste any menthol, I see no harm in contacting Jeffrey and letting him know you're disappointed with the taste. I don't know if he'll do anything for you, but no harm in asking.

    Dear family and friends,

I know that you were eager to accept our family's invitation to Thanksgiving dinner when you found out that the famous Martha Stewart would be joining us. However, due to scheduling conflicts beyond her control, Ms. Stewart finds that she is unable to grace our table this year. With that in mind, there will be a few minor changes regarding the meal and decor, as outlined below. Please be aware of them, and adjust your appetite and dress appropriately.

    Thank you

    1) Our driveway will not be lined with homemade, paper bag luminaries. After several trial runs and two visits from the fire department, it was decided that, no matter how cleverly done, rows of flaming lunch sacks do not have the desired welcoming effect.

    2) Once inside, please note that the entry space will not be decorated with swags of Indian corn and fall foliage. Instead, we included our dog in decorating by having him track in colorful autumn leaves from the back yard. The mud was his idea.

    3) The dining table will not be covered with expensive linens, fancy china, or crystal goblets. If possible, we will use dishes that match and everyone will get a fork. Since this is Thanksgiving, we will refrain from using the paper SpongeBob dinner plates, the leftover Halloween napkins, and our plastic cup collection.

    4) Our centerpiece will not be a tower of fresh fruit and flowers. Instead we will be proudly displaying a hedgehog-like decoration hand-crafted from the finest construction paper and pine cones. The artist assures me it is a turkey, albeit one without wings, legs, or a beak.

    5) We will be dining somewhat later than planned. However, our daughter will entertain you while you wait. I'm sure she will be happy to share every choice comment her mother made regarding Thanksgiving, pilgrims, stuffing choices, the turkey hotline, and, especially, her husband. Please remember that most of these comments were made at 7:00AM upon discovering that said husband had only remembered to pull the turkey from the freezer at 6:00 AM, and that the thing was still hard enough to cut diamonds.

    6) As an accompaniment to our daughter's recital of these events, I will play a recording of Native American tribal drumming. Curiously, the tribal drumming sounds a great deal like a frozen turkey in a clothes dryer, but that only enhances the holiday appropriateness. If our daughter should mention that we don't own a recording of Native American tribal drumming, ignore her. She's only nine; what does she know?

    7) A dainty silver bell will not be rung to announce the start of our feast. We have chosen to keep our traditional method of assembling when the smoke alarm goes off.

    8) There will be no formal seating arrangement. When the smoke alarm sounds, please gather around the table and sit where you like. In the spirit of harmony, we will ask all the children to sit at a separate table. In a separate room. Next door. And I would like to take this opportunity to remind our younger diners that "passing the rolls" is neither a football play nor an excuse to bean your cousin in the head with bread.

    9) The turkey will not be carved at the table. I know you have seen the Norman Rockwell image of one person carving a turkey in front of a crowd of appreciative onlookers. Such a scene may occur somewhere in America , but it won't be happening at our dinner table. For safety reasons, the turkey will be carved in the kitchen at a private ceremony. I stress "private", meaning Do not, under any circumstances, enter the kitchen to laugh at me. Do not send small, unsuspecting children, or older, helpful grandparents into the kitchen to check on my progress. I have a very large, very sharp knife. The turkey is unarmed. It stands to reason that I will eventually win the battle. When I do, we will eat.

    10) For the duration of the meal, we will refer to the gravy by its lesser-known name: Kraft Cheese Sauce. If a young diner questions you regarding the origins or makeup of the Kraft Cheese Sauce, smile kindly and say that you know the answer, but it's a secret that can't be revealed to them until they are 18.

    11) Instead of offering a choice among 12 different scrumptious desserts, we will be serving the traditional pumpkin pie, garnished with whipped cream and dog tongue marks. You still have a choice: take it or leave it.

That concludes our list of alterations. Again, I apologize that Martha will not be joining us this year. Come to think of it, she probably won't come next year, either.

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Too much vaping? I don't think there is such a thing. LOL Actually, I do vape a lot more than I smoked. But I would have smoked a lot more if not for the cost. I have noticed nothing negative about vaping too much other than when I was vaping high nic and vaping too much. I got lightheaded and a bit dizzy then. I fixed that by lowering my nic level. Now I don't have any problems at all. I do drink a lot of liquid while vaping and maybe that's why I'm doing okay with it. I don't know. I just know I enjoy vaping, I vape whenever I feel like it, and it works for me.

The main difference between the 510 kit and the eGo is battery life. The standard 510 batteries will last 1-2 hours between charges (unless you're a very light vaper). The eGo batteries are bigger than the standard batteries and will last around 8 hours (most report 8+ hours). The eGo also uses the 510 attomizer so performance is similar. Also, if you're looking for better throat hit, you can use an LR atty on the eGo, but not on the regular batteries. The LR (Low Resistance) atty heat up faster and will give you more vapor and throat hit. It's designed to simulate vaping at higher voltages without having to buy a more expensive 5V device.

I would definitively check into getting a drip tip and try direct dripping (vid link below). Personally, I was never able to get good performance using carts. The eliquid would just stay in the cart. More often than not I was having to remove the cart and add 3-4 drops to it after every 5-6 drags, which is basically direct dripping. You don't have to have a drip tip to direct drip, but it helps.

    What is Direct Dripping

It takes about 20 drops of eliquid to make 1 ml. Everyone vapes differently and uses different amounts of eliquid per week. I'm using about 15-20ml per week. Once you get started and see how much you use, you'll have a better idea how much you need to keep on hand.

Do you know what nic strength your carts are? What nic strength juice did you buy? I smoked about 1 1/2 packs of Marlboro Lights per day and I vape 24mg. If you don't feel like you're getting enough nic, you may want to step up a little.

With all the no smoking band wagons out there, more and more people are looking at alternatives. Was talking to one of our security guards at work--apparently, they are implementing a new policy that they are not smoke at all during work hours, they are not to bring cigarettes with them to work at all. needless to say--I think I may finally be able to convert him. I have even loaned a spare unit to an occasional patient that is climbing the walls.
even the die hard non smokers I work with have no problems with my e-cig and vaping. still keep it a bit on the DL while at work.

Way sweet!!! Nothing worse than seeing a nic fit nurse coming at you with a needle or enema eh. Now if we could just get the hospital interested enough to do free tests on the before, during and after smoking/vaping. This is so cool, I'm really happy for them for discovering a great alternative. They're lucky they have such an opened minded and caring person such as yourself to share the alternative method with them.

    Hopefully Last but not least......

    Supplies:
1.Empty dropper bottles- 3ml, 5ml, 10ml sizes are great for mixing.
    2. Pipette or syringe with blunt needle. Personally, I prefer using a syringe for mixing--More accurate.
    3. paper towel or rag for handling any spills or messes
    4. Labels are good for identifying your new mixes. If using paper labels I have found that applying scotch tape over the

    label keeps the label legible.
    5. mixing calculator helps with acheiving the correct nicotine strength. There are other calculators out there, but I

like Todd Muellers: http://www.todmuller.com/ejuice/ejuice.php . I usually put my flavor at 30 - 40%. I like lots of

    flavor.

Mixing -can be simple (combining premixed liquids to create a new flavor) or more complicated, mixing from scratch. Or

    somewhere in between.

    1. Always start your mixing or experimentation with small amounts. Its much easier to throw out a small amount of liquid

if it turns out bad. The 3ml bottles are great for experimenting.
    2. Its a good idea to keep track of what and how much you have added to your mix--just in case you want to make more.

**It is easy enough to mix 2 or more premixed liquids together to get a new flavor. This is easiest if you are using the

    same nicotine strength.
i.e.- Tobacco 18mg/Watermelon 18mg/menthol 18mg/pina colada 18mg. The amounts would depend on taste.
Start with 5 drops of each in a 3ml bottle, shake and vape--can adjust the flavor as you want by adding more of one of

    the flavors.
with the menthol--using just 1-2 drops/3ml will give a nice cool throat hit without tasting like menthol.

** Can use PG/VG or both to cut a higher strength liquid. i.e.- 24mg premixed liquid 1ml can be mixed with 1ml PG or VG

to make 12mg/ml liquid. If cutting a premixed flavor, keep in mind, it will also decrease the flavor. If you don’t want

the flavor loss you can cut with 0 nicotine strength in the same or a different flavor. You can also use flavorings to

boost the flavor. use the calculator to determine how much PG/VG to use to achieve the desired strength. Just put 0 in

    the water and flavor boxes.

** Adding Flavoring to premixed liquids
This is actually one of the easiest forms of mixing and is a great place to start the DIY journey. We all have flavors

we don’t really care for, but by adding flavoring you can create a flavor you like.

Keep in mind--when adding flavoring it will dilute the nicotine strength of the premixed liquid. one way around this is

to get some unflavored higher nicotine liquid- i.e. 36mg that can be added to your mix to keep the nicotine strength at

    your desired level.

My preferred nicotine level is 12mg/ml--so I will use that dose for mixing examples.

    i.e.-- cappuccino 36mg/ml, 1.7ml + FlavourArt apple pie flavoring 1.5ml + VG 1.8ml for a total of 5ml 12mg/ml.
This is where the calculator comes in handy. Just put in the numbers, hit enter and the calculations are done for you.

This is where having a syringe is helpful.
However if you are using drops, I have found that 30 drops of PG = 1ml and 20 drops of VG = 1ml.
    You can use more than one flavoring: cappuccino 1.7ml + apple pie flavoring 1ml + Vanilla 1ml + VG 1.3 ml = 5ml 12mg/ml

Don’t be afraid to mix more than one flavor. When cooking, most dishes require more than one flavor to get the right

    taste.

    ** mixing from scratch
You will need PG and/or VG
Unflavored Nicotine liquid ( I usually use 36mg/ml)
    Flavorings of choice

    i.e. Easy
    Watermelon 12mg/ml
    3 ml PG or VG
    1 ml Lorann Watermelon flavoring
    2 drops Menthol flavoring (Flavourart)
    2 ml 36mg/ml Unflavored liquid

    i.e. using multiple flavors:

    Apple Pie (6ml) 18mg/ml

    3 ml 36/mg unflavored
    1 ml FlavourArt(FA) Apple Pie
    6 drops (Flavourart) Irish Cream
2 drops (FA) perique black (tobacco)
    3 drops (FA) menthol
    .5ml PG
    .5ml VG
    3 drops hazelnut
    6 drops vanilla

    ** Misc Notes
Tobacco Flavorings are very, very strong--a little goes a very long way. A couple drops to 5ml will give a nice

background flavor. If using more, add a drop or 2 at a time to taste.

Lorann flavorings are very concentrated. You would use less Lorann than you would with other flavorings.

Avoid flavorings with oils or sugars--both can damage your atomizer.

If you find your mix needs to be sweeter there are a couple of options:
    1. Loranns cotton candy or Marshmallow flavorings are great for adding sweetness.
    2. DIY flavor shack carrys Eythol Malto which is a sweetener.
    3. I actually prefer the Lorann--overall sweeter tasting.
    4. I add a few drops of Menthol to all my mixes-adds a cool throat hit and enhances the flavor. Just a little does not

taste like menthol. If you like menthol, just add more.
    5. always start mixing with small amounts and keep track of what and how much.
    6. For taste testing--dripping works best.

Mixing is a lot of trial and error in the beginning.
Add flavoring a little at a time until you find the balance you like will help keep waste to a minimum.

I am hoping others will be able to add their tips and ideas. the above is just my own opinion and my own experience.

If all or part of this is confusing please let me know-writing documents is not my strong suit !!!!

    Merry Mixing

    DIY Tips and Info

I know this is a lot of information, but I hope it helps those looking at trying their hand at DIY. Keep in mind, This is just my own experience.

PG- Propylene Glycol : It is a colorless, nearly odorless, clear, viscous liquid with a faintly sweet taste,
    http://en.wikipedia....ropylene_glycol
VG-Vegetable Glycerin(Glycerol): In foods and beverages, glycerol serves as a humectant, solvent and sweetener, and may
    help preserve foods. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glycerol

PG and/or VG are both used as the base of the E-Liquid.

PG/VG can be purchased from most E-Liquid suppliers with or without Nicotine. Unflavored PG or VG with Nicotine can be purchased for the purpose of mixing your own liquids and can be purchased is many strengths.
PG/VG without Nicotine is necessary for mixing your own liquids.

Glycerin can also be purchased from most pharmacies-over the counter. Humco is one brand of Pharmacy Grade (USP) glycerin. It is sold as a skin protectant. It is a clear, slightly thick liquid and has a sweet taste to it.
There is also a Food grade VG- Wiltons- sold at Craft stores in the baking sections. Can sometimes be found at Walmart in the craft section.

The information will have to be put into a couple posts--The server doesn't like the long version....

Yesterday I contact my employer's benefits office to make sure they had received my fax about my choices. I don't take their ins. but do take a few suppliments, anyway they are starting a smoking penalty so I wanted to make sure they knew I was a non-smoker. Lady tells me I don't have to worry as I have other coverage, I say you don't understand I am 101 days smoke-free I just want that known(ok pretty happy about this). She asked how I did it, I explained, she was very excited and said she is going to pass this along to others. I explained it isn't a smoking cessation device, LOL, but for me I didn't want to smoke anymore. She was very excited anyway. Then my director stopped in office, asked how I was doing with my electric thingy, I told her. She has been recommending this to other smokers in our network. Then I find out that one of our cardiology nurses is using ecig and having the same success as I am. I have had several people stop me in the halls or call me to inquire where to get these. Small steps I know but like a ripple in pond it can grow. Just wanted to put my 2 cents in about medical community using or recommending vaping.

Jolly Got you pretty much covered.

I will add my 2 cents about a couple of things:
    1. One of the hardest things to stop doing is comparing vaping to smoking--The number of draws, amount of nicotine etc as compared to smoking is kinda like apples and broccoli. It ends up boiling down to what works best for you. you will have a period of trial and error ahead of you trying to figure out what works for you.

    2. My personal preference really is dripping--I get a much more consistent flavor, throat hit and vapor. It does take a bit of practice to get the hang of dripping, but overall it gives me the best experience.

    3. I am one of the few left that prefer carts to cartomizers (only use them when I am driving or unable to drip). I use the blue foam found at most pet shops in the aquarium section, or you can get some precut foam from strictly ejuice (fairly cheap).
Yes you can remove the filler, wash, dry and reuse. to refill the carts--pull out the filler--add liquid (about 8-10 drops), until below the top the cart--push filler into cart using paper clip, tweezers or what not.--pull the fill back to the top level with the cart rim--fluff a bit--add a couple drops to the top if needed.
Most liquids come in dropper bottles--so you really don't need syringes etc until you get ready for DIY.
topping carts--as the vapor and flavor drop off when using carts--remove the cart--add a couple drops the top of the filler and maybe an extra drop to the atty--replace cart and vape.
It is almost impossible to get all the liquid out of a cart--if you allow 5-10 minutes between draws--more liquid will wick to the atty. The problem most of us have with carts is that we vape faster than the liquid can wick---this is when dripping comes in handy.

Whe using carts I actually end up using a combination of dripping and carts--like stated above I just add a drop of 2 to the atty and the top of the cart and vape--usually I can get about 10 draws before I feel the need to add more liquid.

I know its all a lot to take in at the beginning.
You will soon find there is no single way to do things--its a matter of finding out what works best for you. Trial and error.
You will know when the atty is getting dry--gets a burned type taste to it--just don't let it stay dry and hot and your atty will be fine.

Check out the DIY section--information is scattered around, but there is lots of info. ask away.
I am working on a DIY guide--but its still a work in progress--hoping to have something in the next couple weeks.

Backups, Backups, Backups--Batteries, Atomizers and liquids !!!! always carry extras with you when possible. don't rely soley on carts--always have some extra liquid on hand.

    Happy vaping

    1957 vs. 2010

    Scenario 1:
Jack goes quail hunting before school and then pulls into the school parking lot with his shotgun in his truck's gun rack.
1957 - Vice Principal comes over, looks at Jack's shotgun, goes to his car and gets his shotgun to show Jack.
2010 - School goes into lock down, FBI called, Jack hauled off to jail and never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in for traumatized students and teachers.

    Scenario 2:
Buster and Dale get into a fist fight after school.
1957 - Crowd gathers. Buster wins. Buster and Dale shake hands and end up buddies.
2010 - Police called and SWAT team arrives -- they arrest both Buster and Dale. They are both charged them with assault and both expelled even though Buster started it.

    Scenario 3:
Jeffrey will not be still in class, he disrupts other students.
1957 - Jeffrey sent to the Principal's office and given a good paddling by the principal. He then returns to class, sits still and does not disrupt class again.

2010- Pedro's cause is taken up by state. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against the state school system and Pedro's
English teacher. English is then banned from core curriculum. Pedro is given his diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he cannot speak English.

    Scenario 7:

What a wonderful story!! Thanks for sharing that with us. I've never had any intention of quitting vaping at all. I just substituted it for smoking and couldn't be any happier about that. I vape at least as much - if not more - than I smoked, but I'm okay with that. I bounce around between 0mg nic and 6mg nic most of the time, but sometimes go as high as 12. I'm pretty sure I don't vape for the nic anymore, but for the pure pleasure I get from it. I don't know if I could completely or not. But if I ever wanted to, I know it would be a lot easier than it ever was when I tried to quit smoking before.

That charger will be fine. Those are suppose to have a safer makeup, so over charging and over discharge should not be a problem. Not sure if they "shut down" like protected batteries do, but you'll know when it drops off.

I don't know anything about the crown lion, but I got the same story with the first PV I bought - about the cartridges being equivalent to 2 packs of smokes. I quickly found out how wrong that was. It might be closer to 5 cigarettes. Maybe. It doesn't matter which device you have, I believe you can refill the cartridges in all of them. That's what we recommend to everyone. It's much, much cheaper than buying the prefilled cartridges. And the juice that comes in the pre-filled cartridges is never very good. On the other hand, you can buy lots of different, really great tasting juices other places. Check out all of the vendors listed on this site and you'll see what I mean about the variety of juices available.

    Something like this?

Lists volts across the top, ohms down the side. Watts is calculated based on Volts and Ohm.
