Rixter got a reaction from DarthVaper in Looking for advice on a new PV
I gotta say that it looks like variable wattage box mods are the future of vaping. There are many to choose from and they're comfortable to hold. I paid less than $50 shipped for my M50 and it'll handle any delivery device you want to put on top of it. I have a dozen (or so) tube mods, but this is what sees the most action lately, and it's what I take with me on the go.
Smok's Xpro M50 65 watt VW box mod and Dripper RDA.

For those of you who haven't seen this, here's a very cool little mod with a really innovative magnetic "joystick" fire button. I've included a couple of vids because a picture just doesn't do this mod justice.

I so want one of these!

Yes the JOC wicks so much better. I have proven that to myself with the testing I have been doing. It doesn't seem to matter what brand either so don't get hung up any brand.

I must agree with Rixter, Temco for the wire. For small amounts of Japanese organic cotton, the VT store has a very reasonable price. If you just want cotton balls Walgreens will work fine for Organic cotton balls. One bag will last you a year or more.

My Veritas RBA arrived in today's mail. I wasted zero time when I got home from work and set it up with dual vertical sleeper coils (2.5mm diameter, 28g Kanthal A-1, .5Ω total) and Japanese organic cotton wicks. As expected, it vapes beautifully.

Take the O-ring off the drip tip, put a wrap or two of dental floss in the O-ring channel, and replace the O-ring. That should tighten your drip tip up a little. -

Not the most pretty coils I've ever made, but like I said, I was kind of in a hurry.

I can't disagree with the fake Sony issues. But, that makes me nervous too when Efest is re wrapping them... Are they legit... and by no means am I saying they are not. I just think the vaping industry has enough issues without adding to them. It can't really be stopped so, As Rixter said, best we can do is do the research and make sure what we are using is right for the job we are using them for. Even though there is not much I can do, I still can't help but think of the person that didn't do the research and blows their hand or face off because of irresponsible markings. Having said that, I use what EFests I have in my APVs. I just "personally" would not trust it in a mech and a low ohm build. I would much rather use what I know is safe for what I do with them. That's all I'm saying

I agree with this... I have built coils below 0.5 Ohms and did not care for the results... now I stick above 0.5 (usually 0.8 range), and for me, any 20A battery is going to give me ample lee-way
I've almost bought Efest batteries in the past, but when I can get Samsung 25r's for ~ $6.50 each from the local shop or from Amazon, I'm calling that a win-win... cheaper than Efest and guaranteed reliability/performance. I also use Sony VTC4's that I bought from Comp, but I would not have bought them from anywhere I didn't trust... like the Efest issues, there are way too many Sony's sold that aren't Sony!

Rixter got a reaction from T-Bone in Walking Dead Fans?
Glenn is a good egg in both the TV series and the graphic novels, but there's no way to avoid spoilage if I say any more than that on the subject. Let's just say that having read every issue, I'm glad that the TV series doesn't exactly follow the timeline and events of the comics.
Say hello to Negan.

There's some controversy as to whether or not Efest's labeled discharge rates are accurate or not. With the purple 2500mAh battery, they claim 20 amps continuous and 35 amp pulse (momentary). With the 2100mAh version, they only state 30 amps, and it's unclear as to whether that mean continuous or pulse. Since the store you're getting them from suggests .5Ω and above, I'd stick with that.
Personally, I've found no need to make coils any lower than .5Ω...that creates plenty of vapor in an RBA with airflow like the Plume Veil has. Remember that if you plan on using a dual-coil setup and want to achieve a .5Ω total load, you'll need to make two 1Ω coils, since when using two coils, you half the resistance of each coil. That's why having a meter is so critical...it's the most important piece of equipment you can have.

Both this site and this site contain some pretty good information on Ohm's Law and how it relates to vaping, and you'll need to pick up an ohmmeter so you can know what your RBA's coil resistance is at any given moment (yes...it can change over time).
