  1. I bought another PV today (like I needed another one, right?). I got a matte-black eGo-V LCD Variable Voltage Passthrough and matching cone from ecig-parts.com. The main reason that I got the eGo-V was because I got tired of having to pull my atty and cone off every time I had to charge my eGo-C Twists, and the eGo-V is a passthrough, so I can charge it with a USB cable with the bottom USB port. The LCD display should be a little easier to see than the Twist's almost invisible markings, too, and it has a wider voltage range (3v-6v). The entire order was $30.90 and shipping was free (on orders over $30). In other news, I received my package from Empire Mods today, which included a Cherry Vapes "The Universal" drip tip, a shorty sealed (stealth) 510-901 adapter, and a freebie flat-tipped drip tip. The 510-901 adapter is great because it doesn't add any height to my 901 atties, but the Cherry Vapes "The Universal" is TOO HUGE! As you can tell from the picture above (that's a Smok Tech 510 LR atty), it sticks out really far, and looks ridiculous. It will probably look a little better when using a 306 atty since it would be fitting over the 306 atty's body and down inside the cone, rather than sticking out of the top of a 510 or 901 atty. On a 901, which is inherently longer than most 510s, it looks really crazy. By the way, it does not fit over an IO6.
  2. Hey Dan. Well, you've had a little time to try this thing out now...how do you like it so far?
  3. I don't know about the 901s from Empire Mods, but I recently bought a IKV 901 LR Atomizer 1.5Ω from IkenVape - $8.49, and although it's a bit pricey, I really like it a lot. It's got a really easy draw, which I like, and when I use it with my Empire eGo Spiral Drip Shield - $12.99 or eGo Drip Shield Cone - $4.99, I drop in 10 drops at a time and vape like I'm using a really great tasting carto...no more 3 drops at a time. I just ordered a 510-901 Shorty Adapter (Sealed) - $2.99 as well so it wouldn't add any extra height to the atty...standard 510-901 adapters add about 3/8".
  4. Same here with the hot water. I run a glass of very hot water, drop in my juice bottle, shake it up occasionally while the water temperature drops to room temperature, and it's done. Tastes just like juices that I put up to "mellow". Try it yourself...put some of your newly purchased juice in a small bottle and try the "hot water steeping" method...compare it to the juice you don't soak and you'll notice a difference.
  5. Glad you like 'em...best price I've found anywhere on atties. BTW, the Chocolate Frosted Donut from Sweet Vapes is great! Thanks a million!
  6. Sorry. OCD...couldn't help myself. lol
  7. Absolutely. Everything depends on wattage. V²/R = P, where V is your battery's voltage, R is your atty/carto/tank's resistance, and P is power (in watts). There's an online calculator at http://www.sengpielaudio.com/calculator-ohm.htm to help you achieve your desired power level. Remember, "safe" is between 4 and 8.5 watts...the higher the power, the hotter the vapor.
  8. When I try out different flavors, I usually just vape out one flavor and then just move on to the next without cleaning at all. Sometimes there might be some residual taste, but only for a few pulls. Like blucavvy suggested, rinsing in really hot water should clean an atty up nicely unless the last flavor you vaped was something very strong, like VaporGod's Arctic Wolf, which, in my opinion, will absolutely RUIN an atty...permanently!
  9. I find that as long as you're not "showing off" by trying to fog up a room, most people don't mind at all. Just hold your vapor in for a couple of seconds and you'll get your nic-fix while exhaling virtually no vapor at all.
  10. I've noticed that my nic-juices darken (or redden) and "mellow" to some degree with steeping (aging), so there must be something to it.
  11. Same here sometimes, but I figure the USPS shakes it up enough in transit.
  12. I just posted a basic review of (and links to purchase) several reasonably-priced atties that I've tried over the past few weeks in search of "The Best One". You can find it
  13. So far, I've tried several reasonably priced atties and listed my results below. Although the ohms ratings were different, I adjusted my voltage to provide the same wattage to each atty so I could be as objective as possible. I also tried several different juices to see if that made any difference, and with and without a variety of drip shields and drip tips. 1) IKV io6 LR Atomizer 1.8Ω from IkenVape - $8.49 - Great taste and performance, but little harsh at times. 2) IKV 901 LR Atomizer 1.5Ω from IkenVape - $8.49 - Just got it today so it needs to break in a little, but the great flavor and easy draw definitely suits my taste. 3) Vapage 510 Hybrid Atomizer 1.5Ω Universal from Clouds of Vapor - $8.99 - Good taste and draw, but popped after only 6 days of moderate usage. 4) Smok Tech 510 2Ω Atomizer from Sure Vapes - $6.49 - Got this one a couple of months ago, and it still tastes great despite some decline in airflow from major use. 5) Boge 510LR 2Ω Atomizer from Vapelite - $3.50 - At such a low price and with such good taste and performance, this one just might be my favorite. All the atties that I tried provided comparable taste and performance, and I can't really call any out as being "The Best", but if I had to pick two, they would be the IKV 901 LR Atomizer 1.5Ω from IkenVape for the easy draw & capacity, and the Boge 510LR 2Ω Atomizer from Vapelite for the excellent price. ...and the search goes on...
  14. That, my friend, is the $64,000 question. I've heard about dry-burning, soaking in Crest Pro Mouthwash, PGA or clear liquors, Coa-Cola, and many other methods, but I still haven't found anything that makes them perform like new again. Those methods may clean up residual taste issues, but I still can't figure out what will make the airflow improve on well-used atties. I recently went on a quest to find an atomizer that provided great taste and longevity, and in my search, I came across a really great deal on a atty that meets all of my requirement...for $3.50. It's the Boge 510LR 2Ω Atomizer from Vapelite. As cheap as it is (about half of what comparable atties cost) and as long as it lasts (several weeks so far on my first one), you can't really go wrong with it. When the airflow bogs down and you can't restore it by a good soaking or dry-burning, then toss it and grab another. By the way, Vapelite has the best prices by far on Dekang e-liquid that I've seen anywhere, and if you want something from Dekang that they don't have, they'll order it for you and let you know when it comes in. Most juices are $10 for 50 ml...try to beat 20¢ per ml. Dekang DK-TAB is one of my absolute favorites, and usually out of stock at most places, but not at Vapelite...they even have 0-nic for mixing down to your desired strength.
  15. Dammit, mse12! Now I gotta buy something else! And I just bought a new Twist today!
  16. Ordered a blue eGo-C Twist, a matching blue cone (and a stainless one for my other Twist), a clear blue drip tip, and an eGo quick-charger from myvaporstore.com today. I also ordered some 1.7Ω Resurrectors in XL and standard sizes from CCV.
  17. 1. Find your battery's voltage on the top row. 2. Pick a number in the body of the chart between 4 and 8.5 (the higher the number, the hotter the vapor). 3. Find the resistance level in the column on the left side that lines up with steps 1 and 2. 4. Order an atty/carto/tank with that resistance. 5. Wait on the mailman. 6. Vape 7. Repeat steps 4 - 6 when it dies. Some juices taste better at higher power (wattage), and some juices taste better at lower power. Some people like a hotter vapor than others. Since taste is in the mouth of the beholder, I'm afraid that a little trial and error will be necessary. I'd start with around 6.5 watts and adjust to your individual liking. may help (or frustrate the **** out of you...not sure).
  18. The only places that I've seen that sell flavored 36 mg juice specifically state that it's intended for dilution only...not for vaping full strength. For instance, if you have some low nic juice and it's just not enough nicotine for your liking, you can purchase the same flavor in a higher nic strength and mix up to your desired nic level. I was a two-pack-a-day smoker for over 30 years, and 24 mg literally makes me high. I'm talking room-spinning, cold-sweat having, "I don't feel so good" high. I can only imagine what 36 mg would be like.
  19. WOW! Gluttons for emotional upheaval...much? How about "What Has Been The Most Uplifting Thing You've Personally Witnessed?" for a thread?
  20. Have you tried Dekang DK-TAB 0 mg? You'd never know it's 0-nic by the TH. Granted, 18 and 24 mg has a marked TH increase, but the 80/20 PG/VG DK-TAB 0-nic provides me with plenty of TH.
  21. Yeah...I forgot to put that in my list of things I've tried. Since I work in a cabinet shop, I use a neti pot to flush my sinuses with warm saline as opposed to a nasal spray, so my sinuses stay pretty clear. Does it make any sense when I say that I can smell the juice but not taste it? I know it sounds weird, but when I get vaper's tongue, I can still smell the juice in the bottles, but the "taste" is just not there. I know that the sense of smell adds complexity to the four basic tastes, sweet, sour, salty, and bitter, but here lately, it seems that the only thing I can't taste is my e-juice. I thought the problem was solved when my IkenVape's RY4 Gold PG arrived. It was as if someone turned the switch back on for a couple of days, and all of my juices immediately tasted good again, but it's gone now. It's really too bad because that just might have been the best tasting RY4 I have ever tried, but now it's bland, too. Hmmm...wish it would come back...I miss it.
  22. Since I made the switch on April 8th of this year, I've had a sore throat once for about 24 hours, but no respiratory problems or cold symptoms at all. I can't be completely sure that it's because of vaping, but I'd really like to think that at least one of my vices is actually good for me.
  23. If they're single coils, I'm pretty sure they're the same thing that CCV branded "The Resurrector", and if you've never tried one, you are about to have your world rocked! Hit 'em easy the first time because they truly are little fog machines...I've yet to find anything even close. FYI - Keep them topped off and don't run them dry as they will definitely burn the filler material inside if you don't keep it saturated. Nice to see you have your finger on the vaping pulse. I've bought all of my Boge Leo 800 mAh PVs from ecigarsenal.com and they are an excellent company to deal with. I've been very happy with both their products and their service, and would recommend them to anyone looking for a very reliable, solid, and inexpensive PV. I love mine. I also have the Leo to 510 adapter from avidvaper.com you're referring to (in polished brass) and although it's a little pricey, it's definitely superior to others I've tried. Don't know about the other flavors you ordered, but their Chocolate Malt is one of my absolute favorite juices.
  24. This week I bought a stainless steel 650 mAh eGo-C Twist from myvaporstore.com to replace the 1000 mAh Twist I dropped to death last week. The 1000 mAh Twist was just too long, so I decided to go with the 650 mAh this time around. It's the same length as my Boge Leo 800 mAh batteries...perfect. It cost me $24.34 including shipping. Not only is it the best price I've been able to find anywhere on a Twist, they have them in Pink Pearl, Green, Blue, Black, Stainless, Red, and White. I ordered some stuff from VapeLite as well. I got 100 ml of Dekang DK-TAB (50 ml 18 mg and 50 ml 0 mg to mix down nic strength with), a Boge 510 LR 2Ω atty, and a 510 to eGo adapter for one of my Leos. The entire order from VapeLite using the discount code "takeoff10" was $30 including shipping. I order a lot from them because their prices are unbelievably low and I've yet to be dissatisfied with their products.
  25. And whatever you do, don't drop it! I dropped mine today while sitting on the couch and it fell about 18" to the carpeted floor...now it's dead.
