I was toking on my i stick and about to set it down to reach for the deodorant bottle and the cat chose that very moment to give me a tail hug.  I tripped on the cat, sent the deodorant and i stick and the cat and myself flying. Something hit with shattering crash and I thought never mind broken bones was it the PV?  After picking up the pieces, the only casualty was the deodorant bottle which lost a corner and contents.  Hard to believe because that deodorant bottle has glass as thick as a submarine port hole so as to cheat us on the contents I'm sure.  Before cleaning up I checked and yup! The i stick and tank were totally fine and so was the cat and myself.  Following the advice of so many here, I also had backups for that deodorant bottle  Happy that the outcome was good for you too Earthling.

I so agree with that.  I can't believe the propaganda I hear around school and the pubs and coffee houses that vaping is worst than smoking.  I have no idea where they hear these things but the stories are so ridiculous.  Doctors need to get on board with this because it's certainly better than all their other completely ineffective tools like gum, patches, anti depressants or whatever weird drugs they now prescribe.  And fun too!

Apparently, I'm known as the "authority" on vaping at work   A co-worker tracked me down today and told me he was ready to make the switch to vaping (per his doctor's recommendation), before he ended up with the stroke or heart-attack his doctor is predicting for him in the next 5-years, and he heard I was the guy to talk to (which was news to me, since I don't have a sign on the back of my chair, lol).

Anyway, he said he had $200 to spend, TODAY, and wanted to get started.  He knew prices were going to be better online, and he'd get more bang for his buck that way.  He had tried with a basic eGo and Ce4 years ago, and gave up on it quickly because of the poor life of the clone batteries and he didn't care for the hot vape of a top-coil.

Sooo... we went shopping (and educating)

I talked him into buying an iStick 50W (but he bought two), and he also bought two AnyVape Davides and two AeroTank V2's... and of course a 5-pack each of single and dual-coils for the tanks.  All together, he still didn't spend all of his $200... barely broke $150.  After work, I took him across the street to the local vape-shop and helped him pick out some juices (he bought 4 bottles (and a sampler-pack)... and the guy behind the counter gave him a KPT3 mini and EVOD twist (clean, used equipment they keep for those in need) so he would have something to use until his vape-mail arrived (hopefully on Monday).

I wish more doctors would recommend vaping to their smokers... but at least his doctor has some common-sense and suggested vaping as an alternative (to save his life).

Thanks everyone. It's wonderful friends like you that make the forum fun. That, and it's so rewarding to watch a new vaper learn and then turn around to help another new vaper and so the gift gets passed along. I love seeing you guys hit milestones and anniversaries.

Well, it's been three years ago today since I bought my very first eGo-C pass-through and CE4 tank with a bottle of Orange Cream, Blueberry, and Vanilla juices in 40/60, 24 mg. It took me five days from then to start vaping full-time. After all the times I've tried to quit smoking, I can't believe it was this easy and fun.

Discovered Vapor Talk about six months later and met a bunch of great people who have made this journey lots of fun! The folks here have also made sure that my bank account is never too full at any one time too.    Sharing information, getting and giving recommendations, spending other people's money... it's all been quite an adventure. Just wanted to say thanks for sharing this journey with me so far.

Have you noticed that all your tanks leak when on an airplane? LOL i took 3 devices last time i flew. ALL 3 leaked out their fluid while in air. I purposely changed the coils in my turbo to make sure they were good. The clearomizers leaked too. It was frustrating.

Thanks for the congrats!  This time I really deserve it.  I do so admire people who can quit tobacco no matter how they do it.  But I love doing it this way enjoying my days and my relatively new habit.  Note: Habit, not Addiction. Quitting smoking without any feeling of deprivation and adding a whole new dimension through vaping is a win win!

There once was a smoker named Jon
After years realized smoking's a con
    He changed his ways
    Now engulfed in a haze
Of vapour with flavours tres bon.

Today I celebrate the forty second anniversary of my twenty first birthday, and more importantly the completion of two whole years without cigarettes because of vaping.  This is a great opportunity to thank y'all for reading my corny poems and stories and song parodies, but mostly I want to thank y'all for the advice, encouragement and support over all these days.  You folks here have made this incredible (in my mind) journey so much more enjoyable and rewarding.  I can now say with confidence that I am a former smoker, and a current vaper. (I won't say reformed smoker, I won't join THAT club)

When I started smoking back in 1964, I had no idea that I was joining a lifelong club committed to one thing.  That one thing was to make sure day after day, year after year, and in my case, decade after decade that there were always enough cigarettes and matches (or zippo fluid and flints, or bics or crickets) to make it through the day or night or party or weekend or holiday or occasion. or activity to the point of obsession.  It was never far from my thoughts.  I learnt from my grandfather to always tap my pockets before leaving for the day for wallet, keys, cigarettes, matches.  If all were stocked it was ok to go.

Now because of vaping, I've been two whole years without worrying about where the next pack is coming from.  How far am I to the nearest seller of cigarettes.  Is there a store still open.  OMG I'm down to my last three.  I hope they sell cigs here.  Better stop for cigs before we start on this trip.  Better go to this club instead, they sell cigarettes in case we run out.  I wish the bell would ring so I can smoke.  This plane trip will never end and then the horrible immigration line, so let's see ... how long til I can smoke?  Damn! This airport doesn't have a smoking lounge?   On and on.  Vaping doesn't do that to me.  I'm much more serene and less ocd.

The side effects of this?   No more morning coughing up a lung when waking.  No more scrambling for, "where the hell did I leave the cigarettes" when waking.  Lower blood pressure and cholesterol.  Better sleeping. Climbing stairs without feeling the need to make a heavy breathing phone call.  (JK)  Less colds and respiratory infections. No more limbs falling asleep or cramping while sleeping. Male function    Dramatic improvement in taste and smell.  Still can use vaping stuff to have that bad boy James Dean type image without jeopardizing health.  No more panic attacks because of not being able to catch breath, or get to the top of the breathing cycle. No more obsessive worrying about this chest xray will be the killer even though of course everyone, especially x smokers are still statistically more likely to get smoker's ailments, the worry isn't there thus improving every day life.

It has truly been an incredible journey and again thanks with all my heart to the folks here on VT, and the countless engineers and chemists, both professional and amateur who work so hard to make this activity better and better every day.

Finally a huge French Connection United Kingdom off!!!!!!!!! to the FDA, Congress, and Big Tobacco for all their attempts to impede our progress and success.

I know exactly what you're saying.  While driving, a cigarette used to be in my hand most of the time.  Since vaping, I've taken up the habit of instead of drinking water, eating ice.  Whenever I stop for gas or make a pit-stop I fill my big go-cup with ice and nibble on ice instead of drinking so much water.  More often than not lately I notice my go-cup getting pretty empty before reaching for my equipment.

Yesterday in a moment of insanity or senility, I left to fetch lunch and go banking I forgot my vaping supplies.  When I got to the first corner I felt in my pocket and found ........... nothing.   I a quick fit of panic I headed toward the roundabout to return to get my stash. But as I approached something crossed my mind and that was I really don't need it.  I can go about my business and vape when I finish.  But another thought crossed my mind, and that was that banking isn't a finite timed activity.  I could have to wait a long time before getting waited on.  And then another thought:  This is a great time to see how I feel without vaping at my disposal.  So I went for it.  It turned out quite ok.  I fetched the lunch, went to the bank did my business and they even screwed up my plan as usual.  As I was leaving the cashier shouted over, "Do you want any 1 ringgit notes?"  I said, I'll have to see if there's any extra money at the shop."  So I had to drive to the shop, get money, go back to the bank, get the notes and THEN go home to my vaping stuff.  And you know what?  I mostly forgot that I didn't have my stuff.  It turned out to almost be a non issue.  I didn't even think of buying a dreaded pack, or even really keep reaching for my missing equipment.  I got wrapped up in what I had to do and just got on with it.  It's a great feeling to know that after almost 50 years of two packs a day, I'm really over it.  I have no intention of stopping vaping, because I do really enjoy it, but I think I don't NEED it.  So cool!

Isn't it a great feeling to go hours and hours without a vape before you realize you haven't "needed" it?  I've been finding that out more and more lately, too... even when I have it with me, my activities occupy my mind more than "where's my pack and lighter" feeling... although driving in the car for long distances are still a tough spot, where I "need" my vape gear... or a snack, or cola, or all three
