As a result of a recent "reviewers" thread on UK Vapers (which got pretty grumpy in places), I've written an article which looks back on every e-cig I've written about:

    http://ukvapers.com/topic/12281-reflections-on-every-e-cig-ive-written-about/

I plan to do another on all of the accessories and atties/cartos I've written about if this first one is well received

Time is a pretty meaningless concept when applied to atomisers and cartos - what actually reflects true "life" is the amount of juice put through one before it wimps or dies. A good atty should take around 40ml of juice at least before needing replacement. (I know someone who vapes 10ml a day - so that's a "life" of 4 days! I vape 2-3ml per day so life is between two to three weeks or more...)

It's worth pointing out that the word "eGo battery" covers a variety of products - many not "eGos"! Some eGo style batteries will not cope with LR atties and the mosfets in the battery will be damaged, I have also come across others (eg vGo batteries) which will detect an LR atty and refuse to work with it. Even with real Janty/Joye eGo batteries I would advise using batteries bigger than 650mah to give the battery a bit of "room to cope". I've used very low resistance atties with big Janty eGo batteries (eg a Cisco 1.5ohm 306) and had no problems, but you are to an extent "pushing your luck"

Others have experienced that problem (it can happen with other mods). With the SD Mk2 - which it looks like you have got - the 18350 batteries are a fairly tight fit in the little nano-type chargers the SD comes with (the Mk 1 SD uses 16340 batteries which are an easier fit). As a result, unless you exercise care putting/pulling the SD Mk2 batteries in/out of the charger, the bottom edge of the battery wrapper can get worn/ripped resulting in what you have experienced...

Sadly most atties/devices will leak sometimes. I use an Empire Drip Shield on most of most now - they stop leaking completely if used correctly:

They don't work with "mega" atties/cartos though - only regular stuff

I've been using Screwdrivers (Mk1 and Mk2) for over two years - I have quite a collection of them!

I think you will find this article I wrote recently useful:

I think you must vape a lot less than me - I only get about 5 hours out of a Mk2 battery like you are using

Here's another "religious person" joke for you:

The Pope is in the US and is getting fed up with the people like aides and security that constantly surround him.

He says - "I want some time to myself". An aide says - "the President has put a private car at your disposal with a highly trusted driver - why not go for a drive around and chill out?"

So the Pope is in the back of this nice car (with blacked out windows in the rear section) and he says to the driver _ "This is a Jaguar isn't it? - I always wanted to drive a Jaguar - can I have a go?"

So the Pope gets in the front and the driver gets in the back...

The Pope is a bit over-enthusiastic and get pulled over by a traffic cop...

"Step out the car please..." the cop say to the Pope.

    So the Pope gets out...

"Wait there" says the cop - and phones his Captain at the precinct...

"Look boss" he says, "I think I might have stopped someone really important..."

"Not the mayor again!" says the Captain

"More important than the mayor!" says the cop

"oh no! Not the President!!!" says the Captain

"More important than that!" says the cop

"More important than the President! Who is it for ****'s sake?"

"I don't know - I don't like to look" says the cop, "but you won't believe who his driver is!!!!!!"

I have: Screwdriver(s) Mk1 (from trog), Screwdriver(s) Mk2 (from TW), and the Super Six from Super T

They all have been completely reliable - my daily device is my old silver Mk1 Screwdriver which I bought in April 2009 - it is still going strong, shows no signs of wear and has never let me down.

Allow me, as an Englishman, to interpret this piece (reading "between the lines"):

    Man gets drunk in pub

Man has e-cig - staff and customers haven't seen one before.

Customers say"Oi! He's smoking" Staff say "stop doing that!"

Drunk man gets arsy - along lines of "It's a ****ing e-cig you tw*t"

    Staff are pissed off

    Staff call police

    Drunk is arsy to police

    Drunk is arrested

This is a more polite version of a post I made on ECF in a thread discussing big battery devices:

My take is basically that the "vaping experience" is a function of: choice of atomiser and juice (the main bits) and voltage (a matter of choice as that alters the experience of both the atomiser and the juice). The "consistency" of the vaping experience is about batteries.

So the "big battery device" is indeed a means of attaching a reliable power source at the voltage of choice to the atomiser of choice to vape the juice of choice... It is basically that and nothing more.

What affects choice of big battery device? Clearly aesthetics, ergonomics, price, reliability, service and in some cases, it appears, prejudice.

Lets look at a few of these in perspective:

Price - frankly, if you could afford to smoke, all of the big battery devices are affordable - I was spending 50 UKP a WEEK on cigarettes.

So, not price, but possibly "value for money"? This is much more subjective - for me, if I get something that does what I want at a price I can afford, and the device is reliable and I can get it fixed if it should break eventually, I've got VFM

Service - if something breaks - I have two choices - mend it myself or get it mended. I prefer to get it mended. I see no evidence that any of the big battery device vendors don't mend things. Quality of service? It's clear that most of the vendors a) actually provide pretty good service and have managed to p*** at least one or two people off (that's business for you)

Aesthetics? Eye of the beholder stuff - meh (as some say)

Ergonomics - if you like the way it works it's ergonomic, if you don't it isn't. I like "button on the end" a la SD and AdapteveR - others don't.

As for whether something is made entirely from UK, US, Australian, Mongolian or Martian components of original conception, I don't give a monkey - if it works well (for me), and doesn't break, that's the job done.
