From one newbie to another, welcome to VT. You came to the right place. There's a lot of great, friendly people here.

I just picked up the subtank mini with a Sigelei 100w last week. Loving both. I had an issue with the subtank "spitting", but I think that was operator error because the "spitting" has stopped.

I know we do a little tongue in cheek about these toys.  But as I approach my 2 year vaping birthday, it gives me pause to think how serious these 'toys' are.  I could have had another 2 years of hacking up 2 packs a day.  Maybe choked to death, maybe a lung cancer diagnosis, (of course still could get that one I know) .  Another two years of wheezing, not great feeling in fingers and toes, arms falling asleep while the rest of me not sleeping because of that. On and on it goes.  Instead, I've had two years of nothing but improvement in breathing and circulation and feelings of well being all because of these 'toys'.  I like to joke about my new toys too but deep inside these are a serious business.  I for one feel the need to thank again Vapor Talk and the folks here who are so encouraging, and the engineers and chemists both professional and amateur for the fantastic equipment and juices.  Thanks for a great two years and looking forward to a few more

Well Tam, pass this on to your co worker.  I'm 7 years from 70 and I'm rapidly acquiring the lungs of a 30 year old  All because of vaping and not smoking.  Great stories here all.

Here's adding to your story. A co-worker came to me because someone told her I was the "expert" on vaping. She got some bad news from her doctor who said she must quit smoking. She's only in her mid-thirties yet her lungs were that of a 70 year old.

Just so happens that I have an extra back up of a back up with me. I gave it to her along with a charger and AC adapter, a 10 ml bottle of 24 ml juice that she fell in love with at first vape. When I got home tonight I went through some of my back up stuff and got two more eGo T batteries, another two chargers and one AC adapter, seven various tanks with extra coils... those all went into a goodie bag that will be gifted to her tomorrow. Then, I'll take her to the local B&M to get her more 24 mg juice so she can switch off. Might've saved her over a hundred bucks and got her off on the right foot.

Are you ready to take the plunge? I found them available at Avid Vaper. They get around $200 of my money every month in HH.357 atomizers so I know they're a good, trustworthy vendor with only quality goods and great customer service.

Why'd you back out? Here. How about I do it with you? I'll buy a blue one and you can get another color of your choice. If we buy them together, it won't hurt so bad.

None of the above... I just grab my spare rig, and worry about re-filling later   If I'm on the bike, I'd first have to wonder how I was vaping and riding at the same time... I'd worry less about it being a "dry-hit", or at least worry about it secondly!

^^^Yup Yup!!! No you won't have to endure at all. With a vv/VW mod you can adjust the power. If you go straight to a mech mod watch out...lol Or just take small hits at the start. Also if you don't build sub ohm it won't hit as hard either...At least from my experience...

Learn to walk before you try to run. There's nothing wrong with a pen-style battery, they're good, dependable no-fuss batteries perfect to get to know your way around. When you're more comfortable and have learned about different coils, ohms, cleaning, maintenance, etc. then, you can easily move to the next level.

Fitst, congrats on a week smoke free. I'm a vape noob myself and those first few days were rough.

Second....I learned a TON just by reading this thread. I was (and still am, to an extent) experiencing a lot of the same things. As I was committed to going "cold turkey" when I got my starter set, I started with an 18mg, 50/50 PG/VG juice. The throat hit was killing me...much more than I ever experiened with analogs. And the hits in general were making me cough with almost every draw. Even short ones.

Here I am 15 days later. Still no analogs. I have already dropped to 12mg nic that I use in my EMOW, and I'm using 6mg in my new Sigelei. I have also started looking for higher VG juice to cut down on the throat hit. I'm not looking for big clouds, I'm looking for satisfaction. But the bigger clouds are kinda cool...lol.

In any event, you aren't alone Lee. But from my personal experience over the last couple of weeks, it does get better. I'm getting more draws that are longer and more satisfying than I was when I started.

6!  Sounds like you will fit in good around here. @Earthling789 can only buy things in multiples of 2!  He will be around in a bit to help you (and the rest of us) spend money.

The safety thing is most important, but, a close second is that it will be nice to have someone to answer all of my geeky electronic questions!

@Jason - I already plan on backups of backups of backups. Heck...I bought 6 batteries when I bought the Sigelei...lol.

@Tam...I totally get the SAFETY FIRST idea. Fortunately, I have a Master's degree in electrical engineering, so I'm kind of familiar with Ohm's Law and I already feel confident with the idea of building my own coils. I still need to do a lot of research on different batteries and some other things, but I'm sure I'll turn into a coil building junkie before long...lol

Like Jason said, get some back ups. I recently went through four of my back up batteries before one of them finally worked for me. Well, that and two different coils. You can never have too many back ups. Seriously.

Right in line with the back ups will be us repeating SAFETY FIRST! We really do go on about doing research before jumping in, especially when building your own coils. You can never do too much research and always remember to put safety first.

As for being friendlier than another forum... we get that a lot. It helps that most of us are pretty much nuts, it makes us appear friendly. At least on the outside.
