  1. Here is how my brass is holding up. KRG_2326 by Richstag, on Flickr About once a week I spray it down with alcohol and wipe it off. Keeps it with some glow but mellow. How about some pics of the results?
  2. That would be cool to know. Which one has better tolerances?
  3. Let me know how your trials work out. Mine is an airflow sound with an accompanying whistle. The whistle tone and level depends on the demanded airflow.
  4. I was just reading you can chamfer the air hole to get rid of the whistle but mine already is chamfered from the factory. Hmmmm. I hate to start modding on this thing.
  5. ^^I wish you could put some kind of baffle and make it silent.
  6. I can recommend this shop after dealing with their customer service on more than a few occasions. http://shop.vaperev.com/rebuildables/svoemesto/kayfun-lite.html
  7. I got mine at a local shop. Second version lite. Made in Germany. image by Richstag, on Flickr The guy actually showed us there's a flat head screw on the base that adjusts airflow.
  8. I have heard this for taking off very thick old patina but I never tried it. I usually use vinegar for forcing patina's due to its acid content. Heating it helps form the patina faster.
  9. My bud met me on my way back from the beach at the Vape Vine and I picked up a kayfun lite. We built a coil for it and it is AWESOME. Thanks for all the ideas, and if anyone wants to post up more I am still interested to see
  10. Just in case anyone was thinking of trying these DO NOT TRY THEM> They are too long.
  11. Thanks again for the ideas.
  12. Gotcha thanks. I threaded my buds on the other day so that's good. Going to check that it will mount flush with battery adjustment good too.
  13. Okay, this is terribly lame. I officially hate cartomizers for this mech. Something happened that I get zero airflow when I thread a cartomizer on. Can be full or empty. Just trashed a pack of them. Best I can tell the cartos have been wearing down the copper contact on my king mod and now it just plus the cartos. Seriously lame. Need another avenue.
  14. I just drilled out the carto air holes. I just don't get why these are so inconsistent from one to the next.
  15. Gotcha. Well I just know these cartos annoy me. When they work they are great. No complaints. But when they feel like being a POS it's infuriating and that's not what I'm thinking I should take away from this hobby.
  16. I will Google them, thank you.
  17. Hi guys, I have a loki tank right now and I'm thinking about a Diver V2 for it but honestly the cartos are kind of fineky for me and the size of the Diver seems like it would be limiting. Is there a type of RDA that you can set up to use all day without having to carry a bottle of juice along? I have a trident clone and man it blows my mind how much vapor that thing can build but I don't really like having to fill it so often and it leaks out the air holes if you don't hold it upright. I want to stick with vaping but I want consistent no nonsense. Willing to learn to build coils and all that. My bud has the kayfun and that thing ROCKS but I don't want something so long. Any ideas? Oh, and I want to stick away from clones. Thanks
  18. I'm looking to try these now. Very excited to try. From the sounds of it I won't be disappointed.
  19. image by Richstag, on Flickr Here is a quick cell pic of the logo on my brass mech. Personally I like what the patina has done aesthetically. I would never polish this with my shop buffer and don't intend to use abrasive polishes either. Both would take away and the shop beffer could kill it. When using high speed buffers it takes a lot of know how to polish detail. The lift of the wheel can destroy contours.
  20. I hope no one took me as trying to knock other people's ways. I have brasso too. When I was learning to make knives and restore/refinish knives of all steel types, including brass and nickle silver bolsters and gaurds I just found there are so many varying levels you can produce. Just trying to be of help. Happy memorial day.
  21. When I get back from the shore I will post some pics of different levels of polish and even grit patterns if you are interested. Depending on the finish you want you néed to pick the right products and procedure.
  22. Check out flitz or go to a marine store if you end up wanting a rag type brass cleaner. also if your into refinishing check out crocus cloth. If you get it break it in before using on your vaporizer.
