  1. So is the Surefire Knurled King the clone or the Loki V2? And what would be the original counterpart? I posted a pic of what I believe is a Surefire King and Loki cartomizer. I found the King (Surefire) for 230.
  2. I don't mind clones either, I just don't want one for this. I am only getting one and I want it to be an original. Pay homage to the original. I like how brass ages. This surefire is at the very top of the range I am saving for. I saw it set up with that tank and it LOOKS perfect for my style but I know nothing about the product. Thanks again for helping out. Its appreciated.
  3. I appreciate that very much. To be upfront I do not want any clones. I am going for an original no matter which I decide on. So if this is not a good setup, thats cool and I want to know. Just don't want clones.
  4. king-brushed-brass-knurled-striker by Richstag, on Flickr Thanks for any knowledge. Looking for a review. Please move this if its the wrong spot. I want a setup like this. Need some opinions.
  5. It appears the insulator seals the wire against the tube. At least on the one I just pulled apart. As for counterfeiting I went to the address on the box listed as www.szkanger.com and typed in the authenticity code and it told me, "The products you purchased are authroized by KangerTech" Thanks
  6. I just pulled my insulator out and it looks like its trying to seal up at least four wires. Tomorrow I will look at it closer and maybe post a picture.
  7. BTW, I am glad to hear its not the norm because I bought quite a few of these now and for that reason I also really hope its not a counterfeit issue. Thanks for the help in this thread.
  8. Try really hitting the insulator with the inside thread of the 510 battery connection and twist that insulator around with it installed. Im pretty certain it was these two acts.
  9. Yeah, after Ry took it apart and explained how the coil wire gets covered under it I believe the silicone insulator is getting torn. I don't believe these are counterfeit but if they are I would like to know to avoid these sources. Based on how these work without wrecking the insulator I believe they are real. I run the tank dry without a leak and it works perfect. Its been the occasions where there was a little careless handling. I think Ry hit the nail on the head. Just use them and don't mess with them.
  10. Really? From two different sources? Must be hard to avoid if this is the case. Can't imagine either source intentionally doing this.
  11. Nice write up Ry. You will super sub ohm.
  12. Daily by Richstag, on Flickr Trying a cell pic of the low key daily carry.
  13. It doesn't seem to matter which battery. With a new coil in now I have zero issue. Running tanks empty. No leak.
  14. Now on one of the occasions I agree, it was probably from fiddling with it in pieces.
  15. The only weird part about that logic, IMHO, is nothing was changed except unscrewing it from one battery to another. Know what I mean?
  16. My guess is they are tearing underneath against something. Ryan has the bad one and I am not ripping apart my good one yet. Maybe someone can pull this apart and see what it could rub against to tear the inside walls.
  17. Maybe but if you go direct to Kanger's site (I think its actually their site...) The tiny picture doesn't seam to look identical. 80950278_scaled_227x209 by Richstag, on Flickr

  19. Thanks guys. They look the same as the ones pictured on Kangertech's site.
  20. I bought a pack of 2.0 ohm in a pack and the 1.5 ohm came with the Evod glass and Protank 3 mini.
  21. Yes, they are supposed to be 1.5ohm dual bottom coils. I sure hope these aren't counterfeit because one is from a very well known online dealer and the other is from a very well known local lounge.
  22. Well it was different for the Evod2. That one just leaked a little all the time. Then when the seal got nicked it would empty the canister quickly. You could sit it off the battery on a table fully 'sealed' and it would empty onto the table. This Protank 3 Mini has been awesome. It didn't leak, gurgle or anything even using it until it was empty. Then today Ryan took it off and to try it on his battery and back on mine it emptied out into the battery. Sorry for my confusion at the beginning. I haven't ripped one of these apart yet. I would be curious too. It is proper form to mention vendors on this site?
  23. Yeah I was very wrong. It looked like an O-ring then Ryan showed me its actually an full sized insulator. Got the picture to upload. Its the seal closest to the foreground in this attached pic. Now that I know its not just a flimsy ring it makes less sense. image by Richstag, on Flickr
