You just peaked my curiosity so I got out the very second battery I ever bought: an eGo 650 passthrough. Popped a Davide mini on it and...it works like a charm! This one was bought nearly two years ago.

ETA: How strange. My Davide mini works better -- as in I'm getting a better draw, more vapor, better flavor -- than on my Vision Spinners. Huh. Sometimes it's best to go back to the simpler things.

Another thing I had been thinking of in wanting to get a mod is...I thought it would be more cost effective to just have to buy single batteries rather than buying new eGos or whatever when the old ones wear out.

You can put whatever you want on a mech mod its no different then having a regular ego but you get a better look and replaceable batteries my wife uses my k100 with pro tanks and loves the bigger size and look compared to ego style batteries

A little more info, please! What ohm coil are you using? What flavor, PG/VG ratio, nic level, vendor juice? On what battery? If it's variable voltage/variable wattage, what setting is it on? All these things could be the culprit but I wouldn't know where to start without having all the info first.

I plan on starting with single coil builds, my girlfriend just bought me my first RDA, a Trident V2, which fortunately had airflow for single or dual coils. Again thank you so much.

I love Temco! Cheap wire alll day long! Just ordered another 100 ft of 32,30,28 and 0.5 ribbon each. I've got that RDA itch and I intend to scratch the hell out of it!
