  1. Okay, at or around July 21st, we purchased our dual starter ego 900 mah kits at a new local shop. We believe them to be knock offs, but we don't think the owner knows, as HE purchases them from St. Louis. THEY (husband/wife) were just a vaping couple that noticed a hole in market where there were no shops on this side of the river, and opened up their own storefront, so people didn't have to drive to St. Louis County to get their supplies (they didn't realize that their main juice supplier, Better Vapes, was planning on opening a storefront in Jerseyville just like a month after them, but while they sell mostly the same juices, they sell different hardware). Anyway, luckily, the staff are all vapers, and some are extremely knowledgeable, since the owners both have full time jobs, and like I said, just fell into this job. So about my knock off eGo stick batteries. A week ago Friday, I pulled a freshly fully charged battery, made sure it was turned OFF, and put it in my case, as well as all my tanks, and carried the current battery and clearomizer I was using. Went to a graduation/going away party. I knew the stick battery I was using wasn't going to last the whole party, and it DID surprise me, as I stepped outside quite a bit (a couple asthmatics at the party, didn't want to cause a problem, plus the party was at a banquet hall, hadn't previously asked the person the hall was rented from if we could vape in there). Anyway, I guess about 7:30 or 8, it just up and died. No blue flashing light when I pushed the button, just nothing. But, no big deal, went, switched out the batteries, and went back to vaping occasionally at the party, but not as much, and some at home, but I was having trouble with the power on that stick, so I asked hubby to take a look at it, and he said it wasn't firing because the center pin had dropped. He raised it up, so to speak, and it worked fine. Not sure how long we were up that night, but certainly not the 12 hours I was used to these batteries lasting. Just as I got up to go to bed, that "fresh" battery died. Wasn't a MASSIVE issue, because once we go up, we are usually awake about an hour, talking, watching TV, screwing around on our phones (it's our down time, as one doctor put it) before we go to sleep. So I would just occasionally hit from my husband's. He had his inferno with him that night, yum. Since, yay, I slept through the night (that has been known to be an issue in the past), I didn't have any issues with waking up and wanting a hit while I do whatever it is I need to do (pain killers, powder room, sudafed, whatever). Woke up early the next morning, the one that died with no warning worked fine, then plugged the one that died just as I was about to go to bed in. THIS morning, slept in, got downstairs about 10:30, switched out last night's battery for the freshly charged battery that had charged for a good 9 hours overnight (regular, eGo charger for that model). This was 10:30. At 3:30, it flashed 5 times every time I pushed the button and wouldn't vape, signalling it was dead. So I switched battery sticks. No difference in vaping time, amount, or style of vaping, and that not yet fully charged battery is still going strong, seemingly, after only 5 hours of charging. Also, how long are these supposed to take to charge? It's been 7 hours since I put that last one on to charge, and it's still not showing fully charged yet. Anyway, I'm hoping for some input, what you guys think. I've now NUMBERED the battery sticks, to see if there are any trends on short cycles, When we first got these (close to a month ago), with the amount I was vaping, one of these batteries would last me about 18 hours. But I've started vaping more, so I'm hitting both batteries every day, so I guess that's why I've noticed it.
  2. Epoxy for tanks and small stuff, for everything else, duct tape it, lol.
  3. Okay, now I really, REALLY can't wait to get paid. TAsted hubby's e-juice - same as mine, running on a provari out of a cartomizer. It tastes SOOOO much better with the different voltage and resistance! But not going the cart route. Don't want to have to go the needle route to fill. Oh, and forget what I said last post about the needle nose stuff to fill the Protanks....that's for his cartomizers.
  4. Right, Medic. I was speculating that it could be faulty. Or I guess could have gotten knocked into a faulty position.
  5. At least around here, e-cigs, even if they look like real thing, since they aren't actual tobacco, burning 4000 chemicals and carcinogens with second hand smoke, most places are fine with it, as long as you ask first. All bars here are good with it at least.
  6. I know you've never tried an Evod, that's why I gave the information on it, lol. Although pbusari recommended it over the T3S (something about the plasticky taste of the Kanger). But I totally agree that if you are going to commit to vaping, glass would be the way to go. Granted, I've never had any "mishaps" with my Davide, other than accidentally taking it apart and spilling 1 1/2 ml of juice all over my lap, but I haven't tested the fragility of it, and I'm a klutz, so that, you would say, is a miracle. But since you can get replacement glass for ProTank 2, I would imagine you can get replacement glass for the Davide, as well, and soon, you'll be able to get larger glass for the Davides and the mini Davides to up the capacity even more. I don't think Kanger is planning on doing that with the Protank 2, and I KNOW it can't be done with the Protank Mini, because that's all one piece, can't be taken apart. The ProTank 2 holds 1/2 a ml less than the Davide, but evidently has a tighter draw. The coils from the Protank can be used on the Davide. Right now, I think hubby said his ohm detector on his Provari on my tank said I have a 2.5 ohm coil in, but I thought it only came with 2.2 ohm coils, you had order the 2.5 ohm coils. Anyway. If you were looking to get into glass, I would refer you to his review on 8/14 of this year - review and compare of protank mini/ProTank2/and Anyvape Davide, but I feel his review may have been colored by his initial coil or something in the Davide causing a problem, making him taste rubber. Trust me, I've never tasted rubber with mine, and he said his was "out of the box" for about 24 hours - taken out of the box, filled, and used while he was watching TV the night before, and while he was doing the review, although he did have to make an adjustment to the mini Protank, but hubby has the mini Protank and didn't have to make that adjustment. If you've tried either an Evod, or a mini Protank, they pretty much, in terms of vaping experience, are the same. Hubby has both, and I have Evods and have tried his mini protank. Made by the same company, same draw, etc. It's just one is glass, so you can put citrus, cinnamon, and I think 100% pg fluids in there (not positive about that last part, but I saw a vendor who would only ship 100% pg juices - in glass bottles). But I'm saying BUNCH of stuff that may be flying over your head. I dunno. Just holler if you need me to explain ANYTHING I said. Oh, and that review by pbusari that I referenced earlier in the post, he put a contest on the end of the video (tasteyourjuice.com), giving away an original protank and about 700 mls of e-juice (different flavors, I think 50 or 100 ml bottles) open to the 8/31. The winner is drawn from all the correct answers. EDIT: Changed the address of pbusari's website. Just realized it was wrong when my contest entry came back to me, lol.
  7. Brian, the unstated "benefit" of xanax, if you aren't having an anxiety attack like I used them for, they relax your facial features enough that if your tell is like a muscle tic in your face, or a certain facial expression, it may hide that tell. People tend to use Xanax to beat interviewers that are like for "lie tells" in the face for the same reason - facial muscles react involuntarily when we lie. As for me, I can't lie worth squat to certain people. I stutter, or stumble over my words....never had much cause to lie to my parents, but I was able to pull that off okay. Can lie to my kids. Can't lie to my hubby - and at one point in time, when I handled money sooo badly, I did lie about what was paid and what wasn't frequently, and for some reason he overlooked it, sweet man. Right. Cigarettes haven't "looked sophisticated", since about the '80's, I think, so successful has been the marketing against them. Come to think of it, even the latest Bond movies I can remember showing a "Bond girl" smoking were either late '80's, early '90's. That is, if your casinos still allow you to smoke inside. In my state, Illinois, you can't smoke inside the casinos. Not sure about Missouri, right across the river from me, which most of the bans on smoking are by local ordinance and not the state - but I know they have loopholes for bars, and probably casinos, as well.
  8. I was going to say, it could just be a faulty tank. When I watched pbusardo's review of the PT2/mini PT/Davide (and comparison), he kept talking about this rubbery taste he was getting. Finally he switched out the coils, and he was still getting a little bit of the rubbery taste, but not as much (I guess whatever was on the first coil causing it could have left residue in the juice?), but I've never had that problem. Also, same review, the PT2 that he was provided with by Kanger, if you screwed it down all the way on the APV, it's like all the air holes were sealed up, he couldn't vape with it at all. BUT, the PT2 that one of the vendors provided him with, if he screwed it down all the way on the APV, it was fine and he could vape with it nicely.
  9. Odd. I went to do this tonight, and it tried to charge me for shipping ($3). Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but with 3 people in the family starting school next week....so I submitted an inquiry asking why I was going to be charged for shipping (I hadn't inputted my cc info yet), and I won't complete the order until they respond and assure me I DON'T have to pay for shipping.
  10. Sweetie, I'm snarky all the time.
  11. I personally prefer the Evods to the T3S style, but that's my personal preference.
  12. Brian, okay, just a suggestion (but this is one we've had a good experience with) - head over to BetterVapes.com, try out their Inferno flavor. When we first got married, I used to gobble up those red hots and such (until I was about 4 months pregnant or so an my pregnancy heartburn kicked in, and for those of you that know what heartburn during pregnancy is supposed to foretell, yes, he was born with a lot of hair, which fell out in days - jet black hair, which never grew back as that color). My mother in law would buy me huge plastic containers of them (which have now been repurposed to hold doggie treats after many, many washings. To me, that's exactly what Inferno tastes like. If you go for lung inhales, hold it in your mouth for a minute before you lung inhale it or you'll cough your butt off (watched someone doing that sampling it in the store). Since I only have the one glass tank for now, I'm not using it actively, I just take hits of hubby's when he's using it, but once I get more glass, I may start using it in small amounts - not enough to dull my tastebuds, but some at time for a little kick in the day, maybe when I get tired. That's just the one "red hot" type flavor that I've had experience with. The only thing about BetterVapes.com is, they don't have sample packs, AFAIK, except 2 set tobacco sample packs, but they have both inferno, and red hots, and you can get them in bottles as small as 6.5 ml if you aren't wanting to lay out a large cost on something you may not like. (The Chi-town vapers store that we ordered from, unless you get a sample pack, the only size bottle they sell is a 36 ml.) Then again, Chi-town vapers sells an atomic cinnamon, but to avoid that 36 ml bottle, you would have to get it in a sample pack, and come up with 2 other flavors you would like to try, or the wife would like to try. That's where I got my honey wood which sometimes I can't hardly put down, and I waited too long to reorder, so now I'm going to have quite a bit of time where I'm without while it steeps - it shipped today. They also have an Irish Creme that I ordered this time (I LOVE the Bailey's, but I can't drink alcohol, doesn't mix with some of my meds, and actually, now, drinking alcohol provokes an almost anxiety attack response in me, where it didn't used to) that I can't wait to try. I'm hoping that by the time the Irish Creme arrives and steeps, I'll be able to have my new stuff ordered and in, so I won't have to empty a clearomizer to try it. Thanks to the shipping insurance, when my post office lost the first package we ordered from them (they literally LOST it in the local post office building for four days), after I guess, the second or third day, when the postmaster at our local branch told us to call the vendor to see if they received it back, even though there was no tracking indicated it had traveled anywhere, been scanned anywhere other than "forwarded), they waited a day to see if we called them to say we got it, and then they send us another order, free of charge. So when the local post office finally FOUND the first order, that came on one day, and the second order came the day after, lol.
  13. We have a fusion. Granted, it's better than the last couple of cars we drove after the Elantra got totaled thanks to a semi trucker changing lanes into us. (And a far cry better than when I was driving a Dodge Spirit back and forth to work each day in St. Louis, with a broken a/c, and having to transport elementary aged kids that same route to the doctor - at the end of that car's life I had to turn the engine off at stop lights, or even in fast food drive thrus so that the engine didn't overheat.) Love, love, love the USB port that you can plug in the mp3 player. But we usually don't CHOOSE to buy domestic, lol. This morning, I'm pretty sure it was the flavor throwing me for a loop. Last night, I emptied some space in the tank, and added my french vanilla to it, which I used to do to the regular 618, let sit overnight while I vaped on something else before bed and when I got up before I came downstairs (an evod tank), and picked up the Davide and I appear to be a happy camper. The airiness isn't bothering me - but I'll notice the difference when I go to vape out of an evod later. So like I said, I think that may have been the problem all along. Our brains, well, at least my brain, searches for solutions that may not be there. The biggest improvement I see of the Davide of the PT2 is two fold, well, three fold - it holds more than the PT2, and eventually, you can buy a bigger glass tube, both for the minis and the normal size ones, to hold more. And even the minis come apart, unlike the PT mini. Finally, I didn't want to have to buy a needle nose or a needle to fill my tank. With the bottles I have NOW, I can hit the holes in my Davide without a problem. I had my price sheet all listed out for hubby down to each Davide and Davide mini, down to the drip tips and replacement coils, and including how much shipping was estimated to be, lol. Not that he would be doing the ordering. My Discount Vapers account, my stuff, my order. EDIT: Now I just have to find a box to keep my stuff in. My desk, with all the necessary stuff desks collect, is becoming overloaded, and I can't fit anymore bottles in the cabinet, as the cabinet holds the original CD's for the music I loaded on to my computer (and thusly, my mp3 player), some game programs, my emergency candy stash for when I have that odd analog craving that vaping and playing with a pencil don't take care of (but now that I'm past the first two weeks, vaping usually does the trick), and my digital camera. Decent Cannon camera, still a PHD (push here, dummy), but different features on it, and auto stabilization for my shaky hands. So it's the size of my mom and dad's digital SLR (by Cannon of course) but doesn't have the SLR functionality. But anyway, if any of you, especially girls, were around during the '90's, and remember the caboodle make-up boxes/storage boxes? I was thinking that would work just fine, maybe, I'd have to compare the sizes of all my stuff - if they still make them. LOL, my mom and I both had those.
  14. Matt, that reminds me, the night of my son's party, I took a battery fresh off the battery charger (ego stick 900 mah battery), plus the battery I was currently using to the party. When the battery I was currently using died, it was out of the blue, no blinking blue light, nothing - that was about an hour before the party ended. So I switched to the battery that WAS freshly charged when I took it off the charger. Didn't vape that much, if at all, for the rest of party. I guess we got home about 10:30, went to bed around 2, and my "fresh" battery died, despite having been turned off when it was in the carrying case.
  15. I'm still up about it. I mean, in the last - oh, I'm not sure how long, other than the first year we moved into this house (I think that was 10 years ago?) I've never made it to 24 hours. The time before that, with the aid of the patch, I made it a few days...but then I couldn't successfully deal with the psychological what do I do with my hands when I should be smoking....and then I figured out that the mg of nicotine in the highest patch dwarfed my usual nic intake on a daily basis, so I would have one here or there....and it was all over from there, lol. See, that's the thing. My brain is trying to make sure I know the smoking IS either/or. Either I quit, or I don't. I don't quit, my MS can/will progress faster. I've known that for four years, and been working on quitting for four years. Plus, frankly, added to that, it makes my fibromyagia worse. I had started having an occasional cough (that I haven't had since Jul 29, I believe. It was two days after we smoked our last analogs together (July 27 at 2 am, not the ones I cheated with). So yeah, there is part of me going "you have to do this, you have to do this to get better" - or at least not get any worse. But this WILL happen, this IS working. Frankly, I give anyone the challenge of going through what I was going through, that newly off analogs, being around people WITH analogs, and not pick up an analog, and frankly, with what she had been told before, her last episode, my whole family was given the impression that she was going to lose her leg. BTW, she's good now. The doctor managed to be able to angioplasty the 100% blockage in her bypass, and she's coming home today. So no more fear, no more stress, other than the normal anxieties, stress, and getting used to my son having moved into college yesterday.
  16. Once I get the custom 618, and if I still have questions, I'll have to work with hubby with his provari. He used it on his provari earlier, but I think he had the voltage turned up too high (comes with 2.2 ohm coil, right?) because he said on his Provari he was getting a slight burn taste to it, but not on the stick batteries....shoot, and I need to find a chart that shows what what voltage or power with what resistance produces x, because I have no idea what I should be pushing through this, once I get my Zmax. I've heard some juices burn easier than others? Or there are some guidelines or something?
  17. I know, but I'm saying maybe I'm noticing it more because the flavor of the 618 is no longer "right" for what I was used to. Does that make sense? I mean, I went directly from my Davide with the non custom 618 straight to the POS clearo from my starter kit that had the custom 618 in it, and didn't notice anything about the draw, just about the flavor that I hadn't been getting before. Same vaping technique (okay, had to alter the vaping technique for the Davide slightly to make up for the time it takes the coil to warm up), same amount of vapor, but the flavor that, I guess I crave(?) isn't in the Davide, so something in my mind went looking for what is there that could be wrong? Again, this is a HYPOTHESIS. Also, take into consideration WHEN I first noticed it. In the middle of my son's graduation/going away to college party (the cookies of which are ALL GONE now, and he's gone to college and didn't even take any of his cake, which we have half of still....more of the chocolate side for me, I guess). Stressful night, and the beginning of what I knew would be a stressful week (didn't realize the stress going to quadruple by my mom having a medical emergency). Look, I LOVED the Davide, first thing I put into it was the custom 618. Then I didn't touch it for several days except a drag here or there or short session to retain what 618 I had left. So Friday, the uncustom 618 came home and went in. And then I start noticing differences. So it may be purely psychological is what I'm saying. It wouldn't be the first time with me. And that reminds me, pbusari's latest contest, for a ProTank 1 and a buttload of e-juice, is on the tail end of that video review/compare dated 8/14.
  18. See, the only top coil/wicking devices I have are the original clearos that came with my starter pack that amazingly still work. I have them laying on their side, too, to keep the wicks wet. And I don't think I ever let them get down past 1/2 a tank or so, maybe more, but they have VERY long wicks. But as a rule, I prefer bottom coils. Maybe just because the clearos that come with starter packs are the disposable cheap ones, the evods that I got next tasted sooo much better.
  19. I THINK I may have narrowed down what's causing all this to go through my brain on this. I had my hubby try it out, he said, yeah, it's pretty airy. We watched pbusari's review/compare of the Davide the PT2, and the mini PT while I was hitting the non custom blend of 618 that we have. Then I switched that out with one of the original clearos that came with the starter pack, and that had the custom 618 blend in it. I NEVER had non-custom 618 blend in the Davide, up until maybe Friday (when I first noticed this problem) when hubby picked some regular stuff up to tide us over while the custom 618 was steeping. So it very well may be that the problem isn't my adjusting to the different airflows, it's the flavor of the juice in it. Hubby wants me to "empty" my current tank before I add the custom blend in (extra flavor shot). If I get the custom blend in, and it feels back to normal, then I'll know I've solved my problem. Because it's just weird that I would suddenly notice the extra airiness on Friday, unless I was associating it with my batteries acting funky. Otherwise, we'll see. We had the one hole taped, after cleaning the post and the bottom of the tank off with alcohol, and it fell off.
  20. The friend that started me smoking smoked usually marlboro, or camels, if they were on sale 2 for 1 (well, camel lights - they were about equivalent to marlboro reds), or even gpcs. We were 15, it's whatever we could get our hands on for the money we had (and yes, we had no problems buying it, even though legal age is 18). Since that was before I had a job (nearly 2 years, I think, maybe less), at some point I would swipe 2 cigarettes out of my dad's pack in the morning while he was getting dressed or in the bathroom or whatever, light one up when he left (one time he turned around and came back home when I was in the living room with one; I booked it back into my room, but the smoke was still in the air, so I was busted, but that didn't mean I stopped swiping them). Once, heck, I don't know if I was 17 or 18, but I was able to smoke in front of my parents, I remember I was out of cigarettes, and I talked mom into giving me a few of her smokes until I could get the gas station and buy more (since I had to borrow the car to do that). Mom gave me a pack and just said, "Hide the pack from your father, and don't tell him I gave you any, I get the Salem points off the pack!" Up until I got a job at um, 17, my high school allowance was $10 a week. So, cigarettes, gas money, and date money (back when a carton of Marlboros was $20). I didn't smoke that much then. First thing I'd do when I got paid when I started working was get a carton of cigarettes and I'd be set ALMOST the next payday (at least, I believe we got paid on the first and 15th, or was it every two weeks? It's been 20 years, do I really NEED to remember?). My sis smoked menthols because she would swipe from mom. Of all of us, mom quit smoking first, because her cardiovascular health demanded it. Back in early 2000. Then followed my brother within a year. My by the time my brother started making comments about both me and my sister quitting, we were both diagnosed with, ironically, the same mental illness, and we said something back to him like, "We're crazy. Would you like to see us WITHOUT our nicotine?" Now, my sister and Dad are the only ones left smoking. Sis knows about the e-cig option, and says that's probably the way she's going to go pretty soon, but despite all the health problems, Dad's not willing to let go of the cancer stick. But considering the medical things that run in Dad's family, and he's lived past the age of 60 (and his brother, as well, they are setting records of their own), there are other familial illnesses that are lurking other than a heart attack at or before 60. (He's 68 and counting so far. His brother's getting ready to turn 70.)
  21. I answered, but from the prospective of once my Zmax comes in. I'll tell ya' know, it's interesting, I might be interested in it, but I can already tell you I vape more than I smoked, so I'm not saving nicotine there.
  22. I think Empiremods.com has a pretty large selection of drip tips as well. But, Ithink in another thread you were looking for the push in drip tips? The link I gave you there was for Discount vapers. They have a LOT of different colors. I noticed on Empire Mods, the ones that come in like, 11 different colors, they would only say, have 1/2 of them when I looked at it. Say, like this one: http://www.empiremods.com/product_p/driptcer.htm Pictured are seven different colors, but you can only order pink or red. Like, there's no note that say other colors are out of stock, but the drop down menu only lists two colors. Edit: And B, when I'm able to make my order, my drip tips are coming from DV as well.
  23. Like I said, I think the only reason I was able to tolerate it was because it's menthol, which my brain no longer registered as "ewww, icky menthol", but flavoring covering up a plain tobacco taste?
  24. Yeah, I think if I switch out to all Davides/Davide minis, I'll get used to it, and it won't bother me. Heck, I didn't even notice it until this past weekend when I was having problems with my batteries anyway, and I went straight from an evod with a thicker mixture to the Davide, with a thinner mixture.
