  1. Okay, all my AVPs have had the low voltage/no longer working stop at 3.2 volts. SOMEONE told me he wouldn't vape the battery any lower than 3.4 - of course, he uses a mod, so he has to be careful about checking the voltage left on his battery himself, or, well, I don't know how he decides that it's time to change the battery, but I know if if the voltage drops below 3.2, chargers won't charge them anymore, correct? So how low should be the stopping point?
  2. Wait - just to clarify, are you looking for an iStick, or an Eleaf? You thread title says Eleaf, but the post says iStick. As far as don't seem to be around, what is it that you mean? That you've tried to contact them but haven't heard back? What have you tried to contact them about?
  3. Yeah. From what I've seen, they test just a couple out of a run - a run that could potentially be thousands of items.

Mplough, can I ask the origin or your user name? When I see it, all I can think of is "Mr. Plow" from the Simpsons.
  5. The article did seems specific to say "liquid nicotine" - to me, that's different from e-juice, that's the nicotine solution put into the juice - like a DIYer (my SO has some unflavored, um, I can't remember what the mg is in a PG solution, but then he further dilutes that with VG). Of course, it's possible that the reporter doesn't know a darned thing about vaping, so is just calling e-juice as a whole "liquid nicotine". At one year of age, there's no way this baby could have gotten a child proof cap off, but at 1, those suckers are climbers. You should see the towers my youngest son erected in order to to get to the cookies kept in the top cabinet on a weekend morning. We had to keep moving the cookies, it scared the piss out of me when I would get up to giggles and see whatever tower he built (the cookies eventually ended up being hid in my dresser, to avoid the tower thing). It says a one year old, so that's anywhere between twelve and twenty-four months, so yeah, on the later end of the spectrum, climbing is a definite possibility. And at that age, it would take much to poison a kid - especially if it was "liquid nicotine" - undiluted. One hundred percent nicotine on the skin can kill an adult. If for some reason a kid of one ate a cigarette, it could make him/her severely sick, if not kill them, as well. Yeah, it's a tragedy, but I'm sorry, the blame lays squarely in the lap of the parents and whoever's home it was. For not watching the child (I know, you can't watch them constantly, you have to pee sometimes) and for god's sake for not putting that up in a secured cabinet. If it happened at the parents' home, then, yeah, I'm sorry, they should be shot for leaving it where a baby could get it and either get it on them or in their mouths. If it happened at someone else's home, the first thing that person should have done should have been to make sure the kid didn't see the stuff and couldn't get to it. But the article is full of fear-mongering/fanning the flames of, frankly, ignorant, hateful comments. If they are thinking about banning juice because of this, they need to ban bleach, ammonia, anti-freeze, and any of a number of chemicals found around the home that kids have accidentally ingested and died from. Except, with those chemicals, the danger to kids isn't so much in the forefront of people's minds, despite the fact that antifreeze smells so sweet - sweet enough that dogs lick it up unbidden and die every year from it.
  6. And good stuff can still come bad. Had it happen to me - my first Zmax - V3. Loved the damn thing, but the button trouble popped up, and the place that I got it from agreed that it needed to be replaced, after I had to explain to them that no, it didn't just happen when the battery was low, they finally tested it and were able to replicate the problem, but they no longer carried it. Did some research, and the button problem was sort of frequent, but since I got it at a REALLY good price from Discount Vapers, I couldn't find any other site that had it for what I got back. So I moved on. Now after close to a year and a half, I'm back to a Zmax V5. But yeah, sometimes, good stuff just comes, essentially, DOA, or flawed for whatever reason. That's why there are return policies.
  7. Okay, so I know just a little about it. How did it end? I hear you about dumping it. It's what - shoot, can't remember which network it was, I think CBS, they doomed Firefly to failure from the beginning - didn't air the episodes in order, and just cancelled it after less than a full season, so no series finale or anything. They filmed Serenity to sort of tie up loose ends (and unfortunately, well, if you like Firefly and haven't seen Serenity, I'm not going to spoil it for you).
  8. Hmmm, sounds interesting, and I'd love to try it, however, I wouldn't want to try a full sized bottle - I didn't see any options on the site, but I just gave it a VERY quick scan, do they have an options for sample sized bottles or sample packs? I would hate to order a 15 ml bottle, and then hate it on the first draw.
  9. Very cool, if I were into mods.

Even IMR batteries work fine, they are just on "lower" end of mAH rating, at 2000. Which, considering the amount of battery life I go through on a given day, now that I have the Zmax, I'm considering upgrading to a higher rating. At least, I assume that will last me longer. Experts, am I right or wrong there?
  11. It's a good thing you tested it, then. I wouldn't buy any of that type of hardware from that store from now on.
  12. Where did you get the switch from?
  13. Woo-hoo! The needle nose bottles are going to work! Now I just have to order two (2) - one of each Kayfun 3.1 clone I'll be using - Cactus Juice and Smurf's Blood. Once I clean out tanks, I can move my Honey Wood out of my Davide into a ProTank (drip tip has gotten waaay too lose, as Davide drip tips start out loose, and vaping from that while walking can be hazardous). So after I do the dishes, I'm sitting down, ordering myself some new coils for the probably one ProTank I'll be using, and the needle nose bottles, so we don't have to run out anywhere. And hopefully, if I fill it correctly, it will stop the gurgling I get after a top fill.
  14. Yeah, Earthling, mine is more like the air bubble is half the circumference, thereabouts, maybe more, maybe less.
  15. Pretty sure what Earthling is saying is correct, in the amount of juice I'm actually able to load into it, filling it from the top, just from what I see when I turn it on it's side after I fill it through the clear section. I may not actually be putting much more than an evod's worth into it.
  16. BTW, I can attest to what Earthling said about top filling being a potential messy operation. Granted, I've only filled it a handful of times, but I've only had ONE fill without some juice coming out somewhere, plus flooding. Thanks for the link, Comp. I'll have to check it out. Anything to prevent the flooding, which always seems to happen.
  17. I would be leery of this - at least of vaping it as a frequent, most of the day vape. If you drink caffeine throughout the day (coffee all day, soda all day), the added caffeine in the vape could overload your system, plus, it's another dehydrator. Nicotine in and of itself is a stimulant (yes, similar in effect to caffeine, plus some other effects), but having TOO MUCH caffeine would be bad. I would say if you were vaping a caffeinated juice, don't drink any caffeinated beverages during that time, since you really don't know how much caffeine there is in the vape. Edit: I say this not only as a person who got INCREDIBLY sick from too much caffeine at once (remember the Vivarin pills? Yeah, don't take more than one of those at a time), but also I had a family member that was on medication that made caffeine overdose more likely - so caffeinated beverages became more of a treat than the staple they previously were. And, although I'm sure it wouldn't get to this level, we've heard the actual stories about people that overdose on caffeine drinking too many energy drinks. I think if they are going to add caffeine, frankly, it should be regulated - in the way that food is regulated, making sure the amounts are consistent and at a safe level, etc., just like with energy drinks like Monster (so the food side of the FDA, not drug). But that is COMPLETELY and UTTERLY my personal opinion.
  18. What I've been told to do is cover the bottom holes while I have the top cap open. Tighten down the top cap ALMOST all the way (enough to prevent leakage) then turn upside down and uncover the holes and finish tightening that little bit, and supposedly that reseals the vacuum. Provided I can find my other plastic needle tip bottles, we're going to try one of those today. But what Earthling said makes sense about it not filling completely - I think I'm getting maybe 2 ml - when you top fill. If you lay the tank flat on it's side after filling, you can see through the window that the top half (remember, it's on it's side), give or take, is empty, which is more than it should be. Which explains why I go through a "tank" so quickly.
  19. What Earthling said. My MVP could usually go about a day and a half between charges, I think, I can't remember, it's been so long. But other than that, I've used 18650's on my Zmax and my VTR. Well, the VTR, it will ONLY take 18650's, I believe. I have three batteries in rotation now, so even if I forget to put one on the charger immediately, there is always a full one, and usually two full ones, and I just keep bouncing a, b, c, so one doesn't get used more than another one. I think I end up going through a TOTAL of two batteries in one day - a partial charge at the beginning of the day, partial at the end of the day, and full one in the middle.
  20. Well, turns out, we don't have a filler tip of the size/type that will work to fill it. The type that come on my juice bottles - essentially the same as the ones on the juice in VT Store, are too big. I have a needlenose squeeze bottle, but we haven't tried it - I didn't really know until, well, I just read your post that it was supposed to be filled from the side. We've been filling it from the top, but like I said, I'm sure I'm not getting a "full" fill in. That thought was cemented again today - I filled it more than my SO had previously, and I still had run through it in a couple of hours. Trust me, I don't vape through 4 mls in just a couple of hours. I have, a couple times, run through a ProTank in a couple or a few hours, but never, you know, essentially two of them.
  21. The cinnamon toast crunch is an easy remedy - take the "crunch" off. Cinnamon toast existed long before the cereal, and that is what the cereal was flavored for. Pretty easy to get around trademarked names in other circumstances, too. Chocolate mint cookie, etc.
  22. A family member (a former smoker who quit at least 21 years ago, never tried vaping) took a cousin into a local vape shop (the only time he's gone into a vape shop, ever, the family member, not the cousin), and he was definitely NOT HAPPY. The same shop I was talking about in my previous post. There were a couple of cloud chasers sitting on the couch watching TV just hanging out, and he said it was ridiculous. He's seen us vape, of course, over the last year and a half, and knows that it's not what we do, but it annoyed him that some people were purposely doing that.
  23. I know with the MVP, it actually would end up shortening the battery life if you charged while you were vaping - as in, it wouldn't take as much use to get it down to where it needed recharged again.
