  1. It is certainly a classy looking product.
  2. Wow, is it really 14-20% of smoker who have switched? I know smokers make up around 20% of the general adult population. So if your figures are correct, that's huge. I agree with Uma we must do anything and everything we can.
  3. Try cleansing your palette between juices. I find it helpful.
  4. Dedicated Vape shops are not yet that widespread but I think they are growing in number. If you have one near you, even though they may be overpriced, do what you can to support em.
  5. Free shipping. I've order mine already.
  6. Glad to see you! I'm really just a noob myself, been vaping maybe two months, but I have been reading and learning everything I can.
  7. It does seem the technology is getting better and better and this will in turn attract more and more people to vaping. Hopefully. I think the glass tanks are on the rise!
  8. Looks like Boba's and Pluid are some of the most coveted e-liquids out there. I Want to try both out of curiosity Though I don't like the bright neon green color of Pluid, which tells ya automatically it is very likely artificially colored. So wouldn't vape it on a long term basis.Just to taste. Tried a whiff of Gorilla juice. Didn't like what I smelled. Though I am not really a fan of tobacco flavors.
  9. I'm sorry you had a bad experience. And I hope we do see more vape shops opening locally so we don't have to travel so far. Hey, like I say, just buy a small bottle of juice or something, expecially something they have let you taste or smell. Can't really go wrong with that. When Alter Vapes opens in Greensboro, I will definetely be hanging out there, if only to talk, vape, and relax.
  10. As of today, the closest exclusive vape shop to me is about 30 minutes away in Winston-Salem. I did however visit them anyhow to give them my support and a good amount of money too (I got a bit carried away perhaps). Of course they were expecting me and knew who I was. Thus, my experience was very good, so I must mention them for those vapers in the area: http://southernvapesllc.com/ They have graciously given our little group our own discount. It's all about working together.
  11. I like it much more than the original Protank. You put this thing on a mod, with a high capacity 18650, and your good for awhile. It may very well outlast a 2900 mAh battery. I've run two Efest 800 mAh hour batteries through it and the tank is still 3/4 full.
  12. From wiki: Solidarity is unity (as of a group or class) that produces or is based on community of interests, objectives, and standards.[1] It refers to the ties in a society that bind people together as one. This is particularly important in these times of growing regulation worries and bans popping up all over. We must stick together, support and look out for each other. We are a minority within a minority (smokers/ex-smokers) A subculture of a subculture. Vendors and vapers, vaping and support groups, vaping media outlets, etc must work together. If your lucky enough to have a B&M vape shop in your town/city, please support them. While they might not be the cheapest place for supplies, by making purchases we show our support and encourage others to open up shops of their own. Even if it's just buying a small bottle of juice (something all vapers need). Support the vendors in your state and your national vendors as well. And of course join CASAA. Not sure if this is a rant. Maybe.Just wanted to express my feeling on the subject.
  13. I'm not an audiophile, but I do like music (who doesn't?). I also record audio books, you can find my recordings here: https://catalog.librivox.org/people_public.php?peopleid=8087 I have made recordings in Latin, Spanish, Italian, and English. Sorry didn't mean to go off topic. It's audio related anyway.
  14. I use the calculators here: http://www.ecigvape.com/pgvg_calculator.php Also lets you compute your cost per ml to make. You can also find my first few recipes there as well. If you prefer to download software, there's a bunch to choose from.
  15. My Dbox Puritank arrived yesterday, so I thought I'd share my experience and thoughts. I purchased mine for akavapers.com http://www.akavapers.com/ Was the lowest price I could find for a US vendor at around $15 and some change. They also sell the Davide and Davide Mini, but they are sold out of the Puritank for now. Here are the things I like about it: Capacity: I'm not certain whether there are different versions or not, but this bad boy holds at least 4 ml of juice. I measured using a 1ml syringe with .10 ml graduations for accuracy. Lovin the capacity. Filled it up to the top of the center post. Solid and Durable: It appears to be very well contructed and sturdy, just like the original Protank. The pyrex tube is as thick, if not thicker, than the Protank I have. It has a good heft to it, just like the Protank. It's Pyrex Glass: Nuff said. Great Drip Tip: The included metal drip tip is stylish and fits very snuggly into the top cap. No wiggling or wobbling and is unlikely to come off in your pocket or case. It looks great on the tank. It is also removable so you can use your own tip Get a Grip: The bottom cap/plate has knurling just like the Protank, which makes it easier to twist off without spills. It also has airflow channels cut into the bottom just like the Protank. Versatile: I've tested it and it works perfectly with Evod and Protank heads. And I've heard it works with other heads as well. Overall: I'm lovin' it. Only one bad thing to mention: The included Evod style heads were both duds. One was DOA, the other had no/very little airflow. Was like trying to suck a watermelon through a straw. Luckily though I have an Evod and a Protank and when I put those heads in there the tank worked flawlessly. Good flavor, good vaper. I think the draw is a bit tighter. Thankfully though the folks at Akavapers worked to make things right and I have a set of Evod heads on the way. You can find it at Vaporbeast for 15.99 with free shipping. I highly recommend this tank for those clearo tank and glass fans among us. Now, I want something larger!. Maybe something like this: Here's some pics of the box and the Puritank on my Vamo v2 in shorty mode:

    hello

    Welcome aboard.
  17. So how do you know when you have officially become and "e-cig geek" or nerd? For me, although I have always loved gadgets and computers, I think it was the purchase of my multimeter.
  18. I'm a fan of the bigger glass tanks/clearo style ones (not the carto tanks). Though I promised myself I wouldn't buy anything else, I just had to order the Dbox Puritank. However, I am getting conflicting reports on the actual capacity from several vendors. Anywhere from 3 ml up to 5 ml.
  19. I always have to remind myself to unscrew tanks and clearos by gripping em at the base where it meets the battery. Washing hands is particularly inportant after you DIY some juice. So is wearing gloves, but I've been getting lazy lately.

    Igo-L Dripper

Thanks, it looks like the very bottom comes off, the rest of the unit looks like it is a single solid piece.

    Igo-L Dripper

Ok, here's my noobie impression of the IGO L. First time dripper here. Nice box, almost as nice as the Protank box. Included was the IGO L, what looked like two O rings, and 4 peices of wick which were already wrapped in coils (2 wicks each), and a tiny screwdriver. The connection is a sealed one. Testing the built in coil on my multimeter gave me a reading of about 1.7 ohms which is close to the 1.6 advertised by Fasttech. The included drip tip is cool. There is only one air flow hole, but not a problem for me. At first I tried it in my mechanical mod (with low a low battery at 3.58 volts), not much happened vapor-wise. But when I hooked it up to a fully charged VV Ego everything was good. It seems to like higher power/voltages.. Vapor production: Excellent, better than my tanks/clearos Throat hit: I did notice a more intense throat hit with my 50/50 juice than I usually get with my tanks and clearos. So that is good. Flavor: From what I had read about dripping, I was expecting an extravagandza of flavor, but it was more like a little fart. Same flavor/taste that I get with my tanks and clearos. Does seem to be a more intense vape overall. Being new to this, I put to much e-liquid in at first and got gurgling, flooding, leaking through the air hole. But after I removed the excess and the atomizer was "primed", 3 or 4 drops is all it takes to top up and re-saturate the wicks. Any more than that seems to flood it. Overall I like it. A nice toy. How useful is it? Well it is useful for tasting/sampling juices, either other peoples or your own DIY. And a VV/VW device seems to suit it so you can find the "sweet spot". I still prefer my tanks though, but when I have the time I can have the luxury of a drip. Now, need to figure out how to open this sucker up, let me check on this thread and I beleive Pbusardo has a vid on it,
  22. I agree. This is true to a degree (there is some water in most e-liquids but other stuff as well), however I do not know what is in the exhaled vapor of inhaled PG and VG and various flavors and food colorings and sweeteners. If we inhale propylene glycol? what do we exhale? what are the constituents of exhaled vapor? What percentage is water vapor? I need someone to come wipe my nose after I vape. Who will volunteer?
  23. So a thread about this over at ECF, of course cannot find it anymore (buried already). Does anyone else notice moisture in their nostrils or a runny nose, or a dripping nose when using an e-cig and exhaling through the nose? Odd thing.
  24. You know, I have a disposable I keep in my glove box. Probably not the best thing to do. But its for emergencies. I beleive heat is not good for the bat though. Will my car explode? Unlikely. Could it cause a fire? Possibly. Maybe if I put it into some sort of insulated package or something.

    Igo-L Dripper

My Igo L finally came from Fasttech. Looks nice/nice box Have yet to play with it. I do have magnifying glasses I use when I do my DIY liquid so I can read some of the markings. Maybe they will come in handy.
