  1. When I pull on my e-cig, it actually consists of three smaller pulls. I pull in a mouth full while exhaling through my nose. Then I pull that vapor into my lungs. Then I pull another hit into my mouth, again exhaling through my nose. Each time, the smoke gets a little hotter. By the third time, my lungs are full of nice warm vapor. PG and VG are diluents added to e-liquid to get the desired nicotine strength. Flavor and nicotine both come in a carrier base, often PG, VG, or a mixture of both. PG increases throat hit, while VG decreases it. As stated above, VG is pretty thick and has a sort of sweet taste. This taste can often overpower your flavor, and is often thought to decrease flavor.
  2. Think of voltage as "electromotive force." It describes the potential for current, not the actual current itself. If we use the formula E= IR, then we know we need to replace the E with electromotive force, and the R is obviously resistance. I, then, must be the current. Generally, you have the voltage as determined by your battery. And you have the resistance, as determined by your atomizer. How do you figure out how much current is flowing through your atomizer? Think of an Eagle, a Rabbit, and an Indian. When the indian looks out over the mid-western plains, he sees an eagle soaring high above a rabbit. So, I equals E over R, or I = E/R. This works no matter which property you are trying to solve for. Anyway, I hope this little picture sticks in your head and makes you life a little easier one day
  3. Just wanted to let everyone know that I have finally finished the DIY E-juice section of my website. I feel that I have done a pretty good job explaining everything you need to know in order to make your own e-liquid, but of course, I am always open to suggestions. Click the banner in my signature and follow the link on the left for DIY E-Liquid.
  4. This could be caused by several things. Are you getting juice in your mouth? Just a little bit of unvaporized juice in your mouth can cause a burning sensation. Also, what pg/vg ratio are you using? Some people have an allergic reaction to pg and have to switch to an all vg e-juice. Finally, depending on how the burn feels, it could be the resistance on your atomizer is causing the smoke to get too hot, although I can't imagine it getting hot enough to burn you for several breaths afterwards.
  5. Congratulations on making the switch! When I first started vaping, I still clung to my analogs like they were a life raft. I bought a carton just a couple of days before I got my first e-cig, so I told myself I didn't want them to go to waste. Really, I just didn't want to part with them. Over 2 years later, and I can't stand the sight of analogs. When I was smoking analogs, all I wanted to do was quit. Now that I am vaping, I enjoy my habit and no one else has to pay the price. Sure, the nicotine is still slowly killing me, but no where near as fast as the analogs. The nicotine alone puts about as much stress on your body as caffeine. I can live with that.
  6. Not only do mods have the advantage of holding a constant voltage, some also allow you to change the voltage. I am currently using a Vision Variable Volt mod that allows me to adjust the voltage from 3 to 6 in 0.1 increments. If I get a cartomizer that doesn't burn as hot as I want, I increase the voltage. Get one that burns too hot, decrease the voltage. Want to try high resistance or low resistance? Just change the voltage. Also, my Vision Volt takes a IMR 18650 battery which has 2000 mah. Much longer battery life than any non-mod battery on the market.
  7. To clarify, mah stands for milliampere-hour. It is a measurement of electrical charge. The more mah, the longer the battery will last in between charges. This only affects the battery's size, not the threads on the end of the battery. I don't know of any eGo product that does not use a 510 thread.
  8. There really isn't much to it. Just replace your cartridge with a dip tip. Drip tips can be purchased from nearly every e-cig vendor on the internet. Get a bottle of liquid and drip 3-4 drops through the drip tip onto the atomizer. As mentioned above, let it soak for a moment, then add a couple more drops. Vape until you can taste the flavor running out, and add a few more drops. Keep an eye on your battery threads when you first start doing this. If there is a lot of liquid getting on your battery, you might want to try one less drop. Also, if you suck juice into your mouth, try less drops.
  9. While I am new to this particular forum, I have been vaping since April of 2011. I currently have a Vision Variable Volt mod that I can't understand how I ever lived without. I hope to answer lots of questions and help others find their perfect vape.
