  1. Many of the people I have turned onto E-cigs (actually ony two) seem to like the mini Ego's. You can get a kit for around 30 bucks that includes 2 450 mAh batteries which are greater capacity than most stick batteries yet are still compact. The kit in this link also includes clearos: http://www.valuevapor.com/VV/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1365
  2. I'm sure I'm capable enough to clean contacts and such. Why does one say "Uma 18650"? Hmm, you gottem free. No wonder. They are like two hundred bucks each (for the Poldiac).
  3. With regard to number 8, is that TFA's Tobacco Blend? Ok, so at 15% flavor to base, it would probably be something like this by total volume: Tobacco Blend(Alc) - 3.75% Cinnamon Danish Swirl - 3.00% Almond oil - 1.50% Cherry - 2.25% Graham Cracker - 3.00% Cotton Candy - 1.50% Are my figures correct? Wonder if I could replicate it using strictly TFA stuff, since that is what I mostly have.
  4. Nice mods Uma. How much did they run you and where can they be purchased from? Yes, having a locking feature on a mech mod is great. Wish I had one. But like I say my button is pretty stiff, so it is unlikely to fire in my pocket. I remember seeing a youtube video about what happened when a guy fell asleep with his mechanical mod. He rolled over on the button in his sleep. Oh, here it goes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hIHyS5KK6M
  5. That's cool. Which mod do you have again? Mine is basically just a battery tube with a 510 connection on top. It's solid, very little button rattle and seems to last forever with my 2900 mAh battery inside. Much better than the plastic Bolt I think. And possibly better than the Bauway torpedo mod. If your on a budget it's not bad.
  6. Yes, ya gotta be careful unscrewing alot of these tanks, especially the ones that don't have knurling (so you can grip it good) on the bottom. If you don't grip the atty or bottom cap portion, you end up with a mess. I used to think spilling/knocking over my ashtrays was terrible. E-cigs can be just as messy. Ha.
  7. The Pyrex Vivi Nova's seem to be working pretty good, though the coil in one of the heads seemed to have gotten gunked up rather quickly or else burnt out. The capacity of these is 3.5 ml. Although I think the sheathing on the outside is a good idea, I really have problems with determining the amount of liquid left, peeping through the slits with the wicks in the way and what not. I am on the hunt for 4 or 5 ml glass tanks/clearos (not the carto tanks). I think the Dbox is 5 ml.
  8. Uma had asked me earlier whether my mod had a master on/off switch. And that brought to mind bottom firing mods that don't have an on/off switch but do have a reverse threaded locking mechanism on the end cap to keep it from firing in your pocket, Sorry if I confused you. Yes, the side mounted button ones don't have any lock. But I have seen button protectors that might work, although I think they were for Egos.
  9. I have asked the same question myself, should we be vaping these caustic/acidic juices. There may be an issue with leaching, where some of the plastic gets disolved into the juice, so you are in effect vaping plastic residue along with your juice. I generally avoid these types of juices, but in small diluted amounts they might be OK. As for glass tanks, others I have seen include the Dbox, the Anyvape Davide Glassomizer, and the one I am using now the Smoktech Pyrex Vivi Nova. At least I hope its Pyrex. Best bet is to keep any suspect juices in glass bottles for long term storage. I prefer glass to plastic myself. I think the days of plastic tanks may be numbered as glass is a superior material, though not as cheap.
  10. Especially for you Uma, I have snapped these photos of my metal tube mech mod with the protected battery inside along with my (totally redundant) one time vape safe fuse. On top is a Smoktech Pyrex Vivi Nova. You really cannot see any exposed threads and the end cap is not hanging off the bottom. Looks fine. I tested the resistance of the fuse with my multimeter which gave a resistance reading of 1.0 ohms, however the meter has an internal resistance (checked by touching both probes together) of 1.0 ohms. So effectively no resistance was measured. I would like to state also that there is no decrease in performance with the fuse in there. Also while the mod doesn't have a locking mechanism as you see in some bottom firing mech mods, the button is quite stiff and is not likely to be activated by accident if in my pocket, For 17 bucks, its pretty nice and as simple as you can get. They also make a shorty version for use with a single 18350.
  11. 90 mAh, ye gods! But at least they include a PCC. PCC's are great accessories for the smaller and stick batteries. Their usefulness diminishes of course when you get into the higher capacity batteries. I like that Blu is out there and getting awareness out. I see Blu disposables almost everywhere.
  12. Welcome. Haven't tried any of the brands you mentioned but did find this interesting product on the white rhino website: Synthetic Urine http://www.whiterhinoproducts.com/#!white-rhino-synthetic-urine/c1476 A Kanger Protank will not crack.
  13. I agree. Are some people still doing it? sure! Apparently the danger comes about because in a series, the voltages get out of synch or something and they age differently. The uppermost battery appears to drain faster, which requires rotating of the batteries in the seriies. The rest is too technical for me. heh. But things may have changed with the newer batteries.
  14. I've a Vamo V2 and the Protank V1. Not had any real problems. The center pin on the Vamo V2 I don't think is adjustable.I have heard of issues with the thread/base which have apparently been fixed with the version 2.
  15. Check out this thread on ECF: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/announcements-news/269461-exploding-mods-update-february-2012-a.html
  16. This is the only thing that counts. We should all do whatever makes us feel safe. I would rather see people taking extra precautions than to see an unfornate accident. Most of the mod explosions in the past were apparently due to people stacking batteries in metal tube mods. Some people are/were buying regular unprotected Li-ion cells, not safe chemistry cells. Regarding stacking, it can be safe if done properly (i.e. using and charging as a set, synching the voltage, rotating the battery nearest to the atomizer connection, etc.). As vapers I believe we must stick together. We MUST help one another. So while we may disagree, I still have great respect for you and everyone here, Intentions are what counts. And yours were true and honest and I thank you. Btw: what is CRS? I have OCD, which can come in handy because of the associated meticulousness and painstaking attention to detail. This is especially true if we can channel it, but unfortunately we tend to obsesse.over ridiculous things most of the time. I do think we have a greater ability to filter out external stimuli due to our obessive tunnel-like thinking,
  17. Not meaning to keep this thread alive, but wanted to share my experience with V2. They were the first company I did business with when I started vaping. They came up alot when doing internet searches. I ordered a starter kit and the sampler pack of carto's. I returned the starter kit when I discovered I could buy the individual parts for 1/2 or 1/4 the price.I kept the sampler pack to check out their flavors. Most of the flavors were OK, but their Coffee flavor was spot on. My fiancee who's an avid coffee drinker loved it. I liked it as well. Best of the bunch in our opinion. I did notice a chemical smell and taste on all the flavors which really turned me off though. I do like the fact that their customer service reps are available online (I think GreenSmoke also does this), and are pretty knowledgable about their products (threading questions, carto questions, etc). Never had a problem with customer service. Bottom line I think is this: There are some people who like V2 stuff and don't need or want to look at anything else. So if it works for them, that is the only thing that matters. Even with the relativelly high price of their stuff, you will generally still see a savings over traditional cigarettes.
  18. Want to plug Onestopdiyshop. http://www.onestopdiyshop.com/ I have compared prices on their TFA flavors and have found them even cheaper than the TFA website in the small sizes at least. onestopdiyshop: 30 ml (1 ounce) = $5.44 (before discount code), TFA Website: 1 ounce = $7.00, depends on flavor though. Anyone have a coupon code for the TFA website?
  19. http://www.evcigarettes.com/ When I first started vaping, EVC was my go to vender. I have been very satisfied with everything I purchased, and shipping was freakishly fast (if you order before 2PM EST, your order goes out the same day). They carry a large selection of Dekang juices as well. While they may not be the absolute cheapest vender, they are reliable and fast. Lee is a great guy. Check em out: http://www.evcigarettes.com/ They are currently running a contest to giveaway an Evod starter kit:
  20. The one I bought from litecig was originally touted as being Pyrex Glass, there seems to have been some mistake early on. I think they are probably polycarbonate. The included head was also advertised at 1.8 ohms, but testing showed it was 2.4. This was confirmed by several others (check the reviews here: http://www.litecigusa.net/Vision_Victory_Tank_p/vision-victory-tank.htm) Pros: 1. Lightweight 2. 5 ml capacity 3. Draw is on the tight side, which I like 4. Changeable heads. May or may not be able to use Evod/Protank heads. Cons: 1. I sometimes get some gurgling (juice in mouth) when the e-liquid level is low 2. Like the Protank v1, can't use your own drip tip For the price it's not bad.
  21. I would encourage you to stay away from these "free trial" brand ecigs. Buy your stuff from a dependable and respected e-cig vendor.
  22. Herbal liquid tinctures or extracts can be added to your e-cig. How effective they might be I do not know. I am not sure about dry herb. I would like to see more e-liquids containing herbal extracts. I know that you can get Valerian, Skullcap, and California Poppy in liquid form. Many of these might be a good nightime vape and may assist with those of us who suffer from anxiety disorders. I generally prefer e-liquids made from natural extracts and such. I do not like artificial colors or flavors in anything I vape or consume.
  23. I have seen the movie "World War Z", but am interested in reading the novel and/or listening to the audio book, I understand the movie diverges quite a bit from the novel.
  24. There are apparently two sizes/versions of these: http://www.hoosierecig.com/Vision-VT-EGO-clearomizer-tank_p_445.html This is the one that I have: http://www.litecigusa.net/Vision_Victory_Tank_p/vision-victory-tank.htm
