  1. Just thought I post this. Looks like more heat on the FDA to regulate. http://m.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/e-cigarette-use-among-middle-and-high-school-students-skyrockets-cdc-data-show/2013/09/05/77d1839c-1632-11e3-a2ec-b47e45e6f8ef_story.html
  2. Got mine last night. Will have to give those flavors a spin this weekend over Labor Day. Thanks again.
  3. I couldn't afford to Vape at the rate I do if I had to buy those things. But I guess they are a starting point for people to learn and break into it. That's the way it was for me anyway.
  4. Let's hope there are more of these in the near future rather than the usual reactionary opinions based on no scientific evidence.
  5. Thanks for the links. So once it's all assembled, how do you perform the "drip"? Or do you drop into the atty and then assemble the shield and tip. I may give this a shot next time I order supplies.
  6. I've been wanting to try this as well. Could someone give me a link to the attys or whatever is needed to do this. All I have are batteries with 510 connections.
  7. When you say "AV" do you mean aqua vapor cig? I've only ordered hardware from them and have generally been satisfied with their service but I have noticed that all products suspiciously have a 5 star rating. If I order there I research products else where. I agree that it's shady.
  8. I didn't think the collar would work with 510 only connections. Isn't it only for ego threads?
  9. I'm not sure if your problem is related to mine but I'll let you know what happened with mine because I'm sure you'll run into it sooner or later. I have a v2 vamo. I had only been using vision tanks and had never had a problem. Recently I got a Kanger pro tank and was having trouble getting the vamo to fire it. Here's my original thread. N that thread proteus pointed me to the vamo center pin problems where the pin gets depressed and won't make a solid connection with the tank. That was happening to me. Sometimes the vamo would read the Kanger as 2.2 ohms and sometimes as high as 5 ohms. I was running the vamo in VW mode and burned out a couple of the Kanger coils pretty quickly. Anyway, I fixed the center pin problem and no longer get the random ohm readings. Here's a really long thread with several ways you can fix it. This seems to be fairly common on the Vamo but it's an easy fix. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vamo/375871-vamo-ohm-error-fix.html
  10. Proteus: You were correct. The center pin was pushed in too far. I found several threads on that other forum as to how to fix the center pin problem. I've never thought I was over tightening any of my tanks but I guess it doesn't take much pressure to depress the center pin. So now I know the Kanger wasn't the problem. Now I just need to work on getting some of the air of its draw. Has anyone tried one of the tank air flow controllers with the pro tank?http://www.madvapes.com/tank-airflow-controller.html
  11. I've never heard of the center pin being adjustable. There's definitely no mention of that in the little documentation that came with it. Can you tell me how to go about it? Thanks
  12. I recently got a Kanger Pro Tank after reading all the good and some not so good reviews. I've been using it on a Vamo. As far as I know they should be "compatible" as is since they are both 510 threaded. If I screw the tank all the way in (but not overly tight) the tank won't work. If I hold the right button of the Vamo it shows the resistance of the atomizer as 9.9 ohms which basically means it doesn't think one is there. I have to screw the tank only about half way into the Vamo for it to connect with the atomizer. I have to constantly press the right button until I get close to the resistance of the atomizer. As I get close it could show up anywhere between 2.2 (the actual rating) and 6.0. And then only a slight twist either way could dislodge the connection completely (which isn't hard to do since it's not screwed in tight). I usually run the Vamo in VW mode at around 6.5w. I burned out the first atomizer in the pro tank in only a few hours. I'm guessing this happened because too much power was being sent to the atomizer when the resistance reading shifted from 2.2 to something significantly higher before it became disconnected. I've since started using it on VV mode only to prevent this from reoccurring. I've also noticed the base of the pro tank gets very warm after a few draws. So far I've only used the two atomizer coils that it shipped with for testing. I don't have any of these problems with any other of my three different brand tanks on the Vamo so it seems to be isolated to the pro tank. Anyone have any ideas what could be the problem? Any fix or just try returning it? Thanks for any advice.
  13. My wife and I both got one of these kits. I got manual batteries and she got the autos. It didn't take long for her to want to switch to the manuals. When ever I tried using the autos I found that you have to pinch the seam with two fingers between the carto and the battery in order to get the battery to activate reliably. I'm quite happy with the manuals, however. I use them when away from home when I need something very small and discrete.
  14. Thanks for all the great info on the KPT. I just got one and can hopefully try it out tonight. I ordered a clear one from a place online and they accidentally sent a pink tinted one. I couldn't bring myself to use a pink one so I've had to wait a couple of extra days for the replacement. I've only been using vivi tanks and cartos so far so I'm looking forward to the new one.
  15. Yeah that thread is huge. That's where I got the link above. They aren't slow to ship like the guy in the other thread posted. I ordered yesterday and got shipping confirmation this morning. I did learn quite a bit about all of the different types of batteries in that thread. The way some were talking about risks of battery explosions, I'm expecting someone to eventually post that their Vamo went bamo :-)
