  1. Zero in stock and I've never heard anything about them, but it looks to be an alternative to all the current direct-drip tips: http://www.madvapes.com/Dripper-Tips_c_68.html Not necessarily as attractive as the premier drip tips from Super T Manufacturing or the D-Tips from Nhaler, but we as consumers always benefit from competition right?
  2. I haven't used enough of them to really add much merit to this statement, but I'll say it anyway: I've had a similar experience. Bought 4 of them, and have actually only used 1 (which I think I've now lost it; just went on a search and came up empty handed!!!). Even after a rigorous cleaning and several hour soak in pure vinegar, it just never seemed to perform the same as the first couple of days. For the first few days, I was in pure bliss. But then things started to go down hill. I haven't touched it since discovering the 510 cartomizers, but that's just b/c they're so cool, not necessarily that the low resistance atty is bad. I'm saving my other 3 for rainy days, and will probably whip them out some night after I've had too many beers. Also, we have to consider these things are still incredibly new, and haven't even hit their second generation yet. I'll betchya these problems will be sorted out very soon. P.S. I too blow from the mouthpiece end. In theory, the other way (putting your mouth on the battery threads) would be better but I haven't noticed any difference besides getting a lot more juice in my mouth.
  3. I'll mirror what Brian mentioned in regards to the adapter not having proper airflow. Many vendors have their own version of a 510 battery to 901/808 adapter. From the tiny bit that I read before making my purchase, it seems kind of hit and miss in regards to finding a vendor that has a properly designed and machined adapter. Since I couldnt' find any specifics, I ordered adapters from 2 different vendors: Cigtechs and Madvapes. Fortunately, those from both vendors are designed perfectly and I've not had any airflow problems. I mainly use the ones I got from CigTechs b/c they're gold plated, instead of just silver like Madvapes. But they work the same. Now that I've discovered the 510 cartos, and bought nearly $90 worth of them, I feel kinda silly for paying so much for the KR808 adapters that I'll hardly ever use again
  4. Mine would say: "I miss our time together.... You've been spending so much time with HER lately (glares at new 510 cartomizer) "
  5. Saw a video of refilling a KR808 carto pushing the mouthpiece down into the condom. Seems to work so I kept at it. Oh, one thing I didn't mention was how slow I go. Compared to the video, I push the carto down into the condom at a snail's pace. Slooooowwwww..... I think this also helps the juice to fully absorb into the filler. Right. Isn't everclear used as an additive to get good throat hit? I wonder how far you could go with adding some.... Hmmm...
  6. Not yet. Everything I have is 11mg or less except the free sample I got from WordUpEcig awhile back, which is just too strong for me (24mg... buzz and headache!). I've got 2 zero nic juices that I use sometimes, but neither of which have a throat hit at 11mg anyway (Rath's Banana and Pina Colada). I just placed a big order for some 6mg juices from WordUpEcig too (have to special order it at that low of a nicotine strength), but I don't think they'll arrive until saturday at the earliest.... I'm really taking my time backing down to zero nic. Oh and BTW, Jeff's juices from WordUpEcig have the best throat hit of any juice I've ever had; and I've only bought VG 11mg or less from him. They're better than some stronger nic PG juices I've had. Whatever he adds to get the throat hit works like a freaking charm. That's correct. I actually stick the mouthpiece end of the carto into the condom instead of the battery end. I don't stop until I see a bubble of juice come up out of the battery thread's air hole. Which usually equates to a full 2 condoms or a little less. But, it is a little messy. That's why I clean and then put both condoms back onto the carto and sit it upright (mouthpiece up) for a minimum of 30mins so that the juice fully soaks into all the filling. After that, there will be just a bit of juice in the bottom battery condom (excess leaked out), but it's good to go for several hours of solid and constant vaping. Definitely not the most clean or efficient means of filling, but damn if you can get a lot of juice in there.
  7. Thanks for the insider info Chris. That actually helps me feel a little better about the situation.
  8. Sorry the throat hit isn't to your liking FTJoe. It's actually perfect for me, though I haven't tried one during a night of heavy drinking. That could be a caveat for me, so I'll keep the LR attys handy just in case. For a final comparison, I whipped out my last blank KR808 carto today. The 510 cartos still beat them in every respect, except flavor. The flavor seems identical, which is fantastic, b/c I can't imagine flavor being any better on any device than a carto. As far as amount of juice, I've actually been filling them waaaaay more than just one condom 3/4 the way full. I guess that's why I get juiced sometimes and have a little bit of a mess to cleanup. I go 3/4 condom full, then another 3/4 condom full, then about 1/4 to 1/2 and that's the absolute limit... That's a lot of juice! On the KR808 cartos, I max out at about a 1 and a half condoms full. I'm going to try Cmdryker's filling regime next time and see how that works for me.
  9. They're in stock at Vapor Kings. I wanted to order 10 packs, website allows maximum of 5, I called and spoke to a nice gentlemen who fixed it to where I could get 10 online, and ordered a KR808 PCC to play with as well (got some other stuff too). The site may still be configured to allow you to order up to 10 if anyone wants to stock up before they're out again.
  10. Thanks Mark. There's a pretty lengthy thread over on the ECF about this, but I just haven't had time to read through all of it (work is actually very busy lately). But to be safe, I placed some fairly large orders during my lunch break I hate to feed in to mass-hysteria, and I wasn't one of the folks that lined up at the gas station right after the NY bombing. But this was stuff I needed anyway, so I just kinda doubled the orders in size from what I would have normally got. And speaking of which, Vapor Kings has the 510 cartos in stock. I had to call them to increase the maximum order size that the web would let me, but they were cool with it, and it only took like 60 seconds on the phone (normal max is 5 packs of them, but they increased to 10 for me; it may still be like that now if anyone wants to stock up while they're still available).
  11. Okay, so if I'm understanding it correctly then this is just about as bad as it can get (besides making them illegal to posses). Someone please clarify if I'm getting the picture here. The importation of juice and parts are banned indefinitely. Meaning all of our vendors, when they run out of something, won't be able to get anymore. They go out of business due to not being able to replenish their stock, and we start going macgyver-style to keep what parts we have left in our house operating. So at this point the best we can hope for is that the FDA decides to allow PVs under restriction and regulation. Meaning tax tax tax, and fewer choices. Which will take them a year or more to finally decide, and by that time many vapers will have already had to switch back to analogs. Am I getting this correct?
  12. I've not had one really leak yet in the sense that juice has exited the cartomizer and found it's way on down onto the side of the battery (on either my BB or regular 510 batteries or VP PT) and thus onto my hand. But I do find more juice down in the recess of the battery. No big deal there, but it may be b/c I'm not filling them properly as Cmdryker mentioned. I have the same experience with the D-Tips. Exactly the same. I haven't actually used them since Saturday just b/c of that And I still have 2 more that I haven't even opened yet. Dang I was thinking the same thing tonight on the way home from wally world. Now that these 510 cartos have brought cartomizers up into the same level as direct dripping on normal attys (and exceeded it imo), the next step would be a low resistance version... Very interesting to think about!
  13. I've only tried the condom filling method, which is used the same as the condom method for KR808s. But when full, I also put both end caps on and let them sit for 1/2hr. Otherwise, I get juiced. I think Sarge posted in another thread about dripping directly into the bottom hole (on the battery threads). I've not tried that, but it could be easier or less messy? I'm on my 3rd refill of one right now. The first fill is fantastic (I bought blanks; not prefilled ones), but for the 2nd and later refills the vapor production is very poor for the first 10-25 drags. But after that initial breakin period, it's fantastic again. I filled a second one for my sister-in-law with some PG juice (Essence from ELiquid planet) and it leaked quite a bit after filling. I suppose that's b/c I overfilled it and also that PG liquid is much thinner than the VG that I normally use. EDIT: Now that I'm back on my BB instead of strictly on the VP PT, I'm thinking the 510 cartos may taste better at a lower voltage.... Or perhaps it's just this juice. Hard to tell, but they're fantastic on either.
  14. Okay i figured out the problem. I tried a couple other regular 510 attys on the BB and they were all misfiring or just giving basically *zero* production. Measured the voltage from the battery terminals (came out to 4.21v) and then from the BB's atty terminals (came out to 3.11v) so I started freaking out thinking the button was about to die. Turns out the spring and positive battery terminal on the inside were dirty. Cleaned them both very well and it's working like a champ again. The 510 cartos don't actually fit on my BB like a normal 510, but once you lock them down well it all works out ok. It's just a little harder to line up the threads and get them to lock together. Besides that, everything is super sweet.
  15. It's Spikey and a few others from Vapers Forum. The VaporCast crew talk about it on their latest episode.
  16. Episode 19 listening complete! Love the 'desert island' talk. Freaking funny stuff! I'm not a huge fan of the new intro music, though I do think it's fitting. But I'm partial to pianos anyway, so that may be why. But the short prequel intro is an excellent addition!
  17. Checking it out now! Jack sounds like crap. Wonder if Adam has been coughing on jack's pop filter. Shoutout to TheGreen around 17:20 or so. TheGrink (sp?) will be doing show notes on vapers forum (that's awesome!)
  18. Okay, so is anyone having issues with their 510 cartos on their BB or any other mod? I have trouble making full contact on my BB. I have to tighten the carto down to a very uncomfortably-tight level for it to make contact and fire. It works fine on my standard (and mega) 510 batteries, but something's going on with my BB. Perhaps these cartos fit differently since the threads are not 'gold' plated, and the center post is of a completely different design. It's not that the center pole is loose, or out of position like I've had with one of my regular 510 attys. In fact, the center pole is solid as a stone.
  19. Oh sweet. Yes this is the best April Fool's joke ever! But ya know, this really is feasible. Maybe not anytime within the next couple years, and certainly not for less than a couple grand, but most of the technology is already here. Case in point, Amazon's Kindle. The E-Ink in the Kindle works off the same principle; alternating a very weak DC current to change the orientation of the black and white ink microcapsules underneath a clear electrode film. Once the electric current has been applied, and the microcapsules are all aligned into the image that's needed, no more electricity is required to keep them where they are. When you turn off your kindle, it actually displays a "screensaver" (a cool picture to let you know it's turned off) and doesn't drain the battery at all. Dang battery lasts my wife a week before needing to recharge, and she reads more than anyone I know. This tattoo thing is totally doable. And I'd buy stock in the first company to market it LOL
  20. I can't lend much knowledge in regards to carts, b/c I only used them for about 2 days before I started direct dripping. But I know just a little bit about cartomizers. As was stated before, cartomizers are an atomizer and a cartridge all rolled into one. So it makes your e-cig a 2 piece unit instead of a 3 piece. The KR808 cartomizer is what everyone is most familiar with. I've got some, and I enjoy them. Cartomizers are great b/c once you properly fill them (or you can buy them prefilled if you prefer not to mess with that yourself) they can last a looooong time. They'll most likely outlast your standard battery, and most likely 2 or more batteries before they start getting dry. Excellent for being on-the-go, or if you just don't like to drip. Another thing that I love love love about cartomizers is the taste: they really help the full effect of your juice's flavor come through. The flavor is stronger, and you pick up more of the subtle undertones than before. The downside is that vapor production and throat hit are pretty dimished. But this may not be much of an issue if you use high nic juice. The newest and most hopeful cartomizers are the 510 cartomizers. They'll work with any 510 battery or device. So if you have a 510 e-cig, you don't have to buy any adapters or new batteries (like I had to do with the KR808 cartomizers). I've been using these for just a couple days, but I'm totally converted now. These 510 cartomizers are better than the KR808 cartomizers in nearly every way. They hold a ton of juice, last a very long time, have great flavor, and the vapor production and throat hit are a TON better than the KR808 cartomizers. It's a total win-win scenario here. The only problem is that they are brand new, and only a few vendors have them. I bought a 5 pack of empty ones last week (b/c i wanted to fill them with my own juice) and they're already out of stock again. So until more vendors start carrying them, I'll have to stay on my toes to see when they come back in stock. If you don't want to go that route, there are plenty of "Cart Mods" you can try to increase the amount of juice you can hold.
  21. Oh sweet, thanks Brian! Yup, plenty of room for a 510 battery plus adapter. Yup, I tested them out last night on a regular battery and also a mega battery this morning. They vape great. Not as good as on the VP PT of course, but still fantastic. I'll be taking a trip over to ******** this afternoon. ***** has the KR808 PCC on sale Thanks so much Brian! EDIT: I edited my post to exclude the vendor name. Sorry, but I don't like to get too specific. Plus, I found someone else that has them cheaper.
  22. Ok Brian, for some reason my brain is not working right today. If a 510battery to 901/808 atomizer connector will work, then I'm all set! I actually bought 4 of them (2 from 2 different sites) so I could run my KR808 carto on my 510 batteries. Once screwed down onto the 510battery, the adapter adds an extra 8mm in length. And on a sidenote, I have one 510mega battery, which measures in at about 90.5mm in length (98.5mm with the adapter). Think a 510mega battery would fit too?
  23. LOL! I should have known you'd have one! Can you fully tighten down the battery into the charging slot and measure how much room is left at the end? In the mean time, I'll be looking around for battery-battery adapters. Would be cool to be able to use an adapter instead of having to dismantle it, rip out the 808 threads, and try to solder in a 510 thread.
  24. Hmmmm.... Brian, your idea got the OCD juices flowing so I took some measurements (and since it's easter sunday, I'm just sitting here twiddling my thumbs "at work") and looked up some tech specs online for some of the missing holes that I can't actually measure: 510 Cartomizer Specs: Body Length 35.5mm Thread Length 4.5mm Overall Length 40.0mm Overall with both end caps 44.0mm Diameter 9.3mm (taken else-where; not measurd myself, but it looks accurate) Resistance (new, dry unit) 6.0ohms??? Resistance (wet, slightly used) 3.7ohms 510 Battery (regular) Length 65.0mm KR808 Cartomizer Specs: Body Length 34.5mm Overall Length with both end caps 38.0mm Diameter 9.5mm (taken else-where; not measurd myself, but it looks accurate) Resistance (new, dry unit) 3.4ohms Resistance (wet, very used) 3.4ohms KR808 Battery (regular) Length 84.3mm (derived measurement; i don't actually have one to measure) From pics I've seen of the KR808s PCC, changing the battery thread to a 510 looks doable but very difficult. Fitting the 510 cartomizers into the KR808 cartomizer sockets may be doable too. Eyeballing the best picture I could find, it seems as though there is an extra 2-3mm in length of "wiggle" room for the KR808 carts in there little slots. So a 510 carto without the end caps may actually fit! I'm not sure if I'm up to the task of trying to mod that battery thread, but considering the fact that a 510 battery looks to be almost 20mm shorter than a KR808 battery, there should be enough room for error! Unit width measurements, and derived measurements taken and calculated from: http://www.liberty-flights.com/product.asp?ref=froogle&ad=975&variationid=975&id=24#183 and http://www.liberty-flights.com/product.asp?id=31 Good pic of a KR808 PCC in use: http://www.electronicstix.com/images/DSC00048.jpg P.S. That 6.0ohm measurement of the 510 carto (dry and unused) is a little worrisome. But perhaps that normal. I didn't want to take anymore of them out of the sealed air-tight plastic wrap to measure another, so for now I'll stick with that b/c I checked and rechecked it several times. EDIT: I just now started getting a burnt taste, so I decided to refill. I added 18drops and run time for this first carto has been a SOLID 5hrs. That's like 5hrs of chain vaping. If you weren't chain-vaping, I can see this thing lasting 8hrs+ if you use it as you would an analog cigarette (taking smoke breaks).
  25. Oh geez! I used one of my 510 cartos last night for about an hour, and this morning so far for about 2hrs. Everything I've heard about them is totally true. These things are incredible! Vapor production like a normal 510 and flavor almost like a KR808 cartomizer. The throat hit is tame compared to a normal 510, but that's no issue for me b/c I chase flavor and vapor. I'm not sure how long it will last, but I got 23 drops of VG juice in it before it started to overflow (used the condom-fill-method). That's a lot! And even more than the few KR808s that I've filled (those averaged 15-19 of the same juice). If they ever make a 510 cartomizer PCC that's like the KR808 PCC, then I'll betchya this will be the new wave in the PV world. Seriously. In fact if I can find a dedicated 510 cartomizer PCC (that's not all sharp and pointy like the regular 510 PCC) I'd buy one right now. EDIT: Wonder if the 510 battery with a 510-901/KR808 adapter would fit properly in the KR808 PCC. Hmmmm.....
