Tam got a reaction from unoflux in over vaping (sore throat)
What is the resistance of the coil you're using in your tank? If possible, what I would do is to get a higher resistance coil (above 1.0 ohm like a 1.5 ohm or 1.8 ohm coil), and that way you can lower your wattage/power to it. If you use a higher VG liquid, that will increase more vapor output.
How you vape also can affect how much vapor you're getting. You can push the button for a second before you begin the inhale, then inhale (more of a puff really), two or three quick puffs to get the vapor going before you inhale the last one. Did that make sense?

Are you sure it was a mod and not just an unprotected battery? Most of these stories include people putting batteries into their pocket with change that shorts out the battery until it explodes.

Is In N Out really that good? I've seen pictures and it looks absolutely decadent. And I'm not overweight, I consider it either under-tall or just fluffy.

Tam got a reaction from spydre in Getting weird side effects from new juice
Sorry, without doing some serious testing I doubt there's any way anyone on a forum could tell you what's causing your symptoms. If you want to do a test yourself, you might get some of the juice you've always used and customize it to a higher VG level to match the juice that's giving you problems. If you get the same symptoms, I'd say it's the PG ratio. If not, then it's probably just the juice and you should buy from a different vendor. I would go with the juice you always use for a few days until the original symptoms go away then start your experiment. If the symptoms continue, I'd go see the doctor, it might not be the juice at all and could be that you're coming down with something else.

Regulated mods (ones where you set voltage/wattage/temperature) have a really good track record, but there's also that rare one that has a fault, or one that someone has modified or done something stupid with...
Mechanical mods (where you press a button that makes the battery contact and complete a circuit) have a good track record too... IF THEY ARE USED CORRECTLY, and people aren't being stupid... like trying to fire a 0.05 Ohm coil, or using batteries that cannot handle the Amp demands their coil is pulling. Explosions were still uncommon even years ago, before battery technology became better!
Like @Tam said, most problems are with cheap Chinese batteries, knock-off batteries, damaged batteries, or where someone pops a battery into their pocket or purse (unprotected) and loose metal manages to make contact between the positive and negative posts, creating a run-away discharge/venting.
There's no reason to panic... your mod is 99.9999% safe if used correctly AND you are using a good, reputable battery of the correct Amperage specification for your coil needs. Stick with Samsung, LG, Sony, etc. batteries, and make sure they are at least 20A... and you should be fine for all your vaping needs.

Moved to General E-liquid discussion. Hopefully, you'll get more replies here.

Tam got a reaction from leadpipe58 in Would it be okay to add 1 or 2 drops of 100% pure nicotine to my eliquid?
What is the desired amount of nicotine when you're going for? In other words, when you buy premade eliquid now, how many milograms of nic do you get? I'm vaping 3 mg of nic now so even 1 drop of pure 100% nic inside a tank would probably be too much for me. YMMV

Yea I figured that was the case. I had to read it twice and thought, nah, Tam doesn't seem that high on the forum lol

Tam got a reaction from Walt in Pins and needles wakes me in the night
You know what else it might be? You said that you're still on cigarettes and are going back and forth. When I first started vaping, I used both for about five days before going strictly on the vape. The withdrawal symptoms I got from getting away from all the carcinogens in cigarettes did some pretty funky things to my body for about a month until they settled down.

Tam got a reaction from Christopher in Do you snore less now?
Yes, I make far fewer mistakes when I sleep now compared to when I smoked.
All joking aside, when I smoked and was very, very tired, I was told I snored quite a bit. Now that I vape, it's pretty rare that I snore at all. My sleep is much more restful now too.

Tam got a reaction from VapingVagabond in PG/VG Ratio Preference
Thanks for putting in the "other" category. For the most part I use 30/70 but do switch off to 50/50 or even 60/40 when stealth vaping. The little cartomizer for Vapor Talk's Ace of Spades cigalike won't take more VG than that.

Tam reacted to Christopher in Is the coil junk?
The liquid that's usually in the atomizer, is normally zero nicotine, unflavored e liquid. They started doing it years ago when users would put an atomizer on without adding e liquid. (this was back when the devices were simple). These days however, it doesn't do much to help if someone forgets to add eliquid.

Tam reacted to Walt in PG/VG Ratio Preference
A lot like @Tam I use different blends. For a lot of my attys I use 70/30 but I have a Templar I love that works best with 50/50. Sometimes a flavor is a bit subtle and I will move toward 60/40.

Tam reacted to Christopher in Is the coil junk?
Sometimes it can be a bad coil but it's usually (there are other factors) one of two things. One, you didn't let the coil sit long enough to soak up liquid (that doesn't sound like what happened). The other issue is that the device you purchased is new and often is set on the highest wattage. The wattage on the device may have been too high for the coil and thus burning it out. (Sounds more likely to be the case).
Generally speaking, when you use a new device you should always start the wattage low and slowly work up. (start at 8 watts and go from there). At some point, it will start to taste "off" and you can pull back the wattage a little. Then you have your sweet spot.

Yep. Like @Squid said, I'd get new batteries too. Anytime I have any trouble at all with a battery, it's just safer to start with new.
