Put it down? Stop vaping? What is this of which you speak?

I love vaping. I vape as much as I can. I don't think it affects the nic amount at all. I started out at 36mg nic, but found out I did just fine on the 24mg that I had, so I quit buying the 36mg. Later I had some 18mg nic in sample bottles and I did just fine on that, so I quit buying the 24mg. I worked my way right on down to 0 nic in no time at all. I still use 0 nic most of the time, but I also have a bunch of nic left, so I mix some up now and then and use it. When I try a new juice, for some reason I tend to buy it in the 11-12mg range, but when I mix I tend to go with 3 or 6. But even vaping at 0 for several days or weeks in a row doesn't bother me at all. And going back to the nic doesn't seem to make a difference either. I've found it's a lot easier to not vape than it was to not smoke. If I had to go very long without smoking, it would drive me crazy. Not vaping for long periods of time doesn't bother me at all. But I still vape as much as I can or as much as I want without any worries at all. But that's just me.

At the start of a new year we tend to look back on the past year and reflect on what we've done and look forward on what we plan to do. I've recently passed my 2 year mark here on VaporTalk and wonder where the hell the time has gone.Although I haven't been here as long as some others I have noticed so many changes, both on the forum and with the people.
So many have come and gone, and you wonder where they went and why they left? Chris has said that it's the nature of a forum.
Not being on many I wouldn't know, but I can't help but wonder why? Did they just get tired? Have they gone to other forums? Or did they just give up? I can't imagine finding a better, friendlier, or more helpful forum than VT. I have many people here to thank for helping me when I first started out to quit analogs. With their help and encouragement I'm coming up on 2 years smoke free.
So what all this is leading up to is never forget where you started and who helped you along. If this forum was your first stop in a new way of getting healthier then don't give up on the forum. Stop bye from time to time, say hello, let us know how you're doing and how your e-cig journey is coming along. I myself am guilty of not coming bye as often as I should, but I have never forgotten where I got my start. So stop bye from time to time, say hello, maybe you can help someone else on their way to quit.
The people here really do care and like to help.

Hope to see you all often.

    Good luck and Happy Vaping!

Yippie!!! Thanks everyone! It's been an amazing journey and I'm glad it all happened here at VT!

Wanted to give an update on my wife. You may recall that she had a difficult time trying to vape, but finally did make the switch in March of this year. After vaping for about 7 months the was able to quit completely! Woot!!! She still keeps an eGo handy just in case, but hasn't used in a several weeks.

Welcome to Vapor Talk!! A lot of us have almost the same story. I wanted to replace smoking with vaping because I didn't want to quit smoking and it was just that easy for me. I smoked a pack and a half per day for 34 years and have been smoke free for 2 years now and it still amazes me.

nana got a reaction from Uma in Two Years...
This is a huge milestone in my life. As of today I have been smoke free for exactly two years!! I smoked analogs for 34+ years. I enjoyed smoking (or so I thought at the time) and didn't really want to quit. I thought I should quit and tried several times, but nothing worked. Then I found out about ecigs and just knew that was the answer for me. And it was. I walked away from the analogs with no problem whatsoever and never looked back. I have never had a craving for one, have not been tempted to pick one up, and know that I never will again. What a wonderful feeling!

I feel better. Things smell better and taste better. I can breath easier, climb stairs better and walk farther than I could before - even though when I was smoking, I didn't know those things were impaired for me. I never knew how I smelled when I was a smoker. I couldn't smell other smokers. I can now. I can walk through a store and point out every single smoker in there. And to think I used to smell like that - phew!

This has been a wonderful (continuing) journey and I've been blessed to share it with all of the good folks here at Vapor Talk. In one way or another you've all touched my life and made the journey a whole lot more fun. Thumbs up to all of you!

    Happy vaping!!!!!

You know how every once in awhile you come across one of those funny little stories? The ones that probably aren't true, but could be true? Well, this one was sent to me via email and I laughed so hard I had tears running down my face. I just had to share it with everyone here. I hope it at least brings a smile to your face. Enjoy!

    Hanging by my Boob

While conducting some business at the Court House, I overheard a lady, who had been arrested for assaulting a Mammogram Technician, say, "Your Honor, I'm guilty but.....there were extenuating circumstances."

The female Judge said, sarcastically, "I'd certainly like to hear those extenuating circumstances."

I did too so, I listened as the lady told her story.

"Your Honor, I had a mammogram appointment, which I actually kept. I was met by this perky little clipboard carrier smiling from ear to ear and she tilted her head to one side and crooned, "Hi! I'm Belinda! All I need you to do is step into this room right here, strip to the waist, then slip
    On this gown. Everything clear?"

I'm thinking, "Belinda, try decaf. This ain't rocket science."

Belinda then skipped away to prepare the chamber of horrors. With the right side finished, Belinda flipped me (literally) to the left and said, "Hmmmm. Can you stand on your tippy toes and lean in a tad so we can get everything?"

    Fine, I answered.

I was freezing, bruised, and out of air, so why not use the remaining circulation in my legs and neck to finish me off? My body was in a holding pattern that defied gravity (with my other breast wedged between those two 4 inch pieces of square glass) when I heard and felt a zap!

Complete darkness, the power was off!

Belinda said, "Uh-oh, maintenance is working, bet they hit a snag." Then she headed for the door.

"Excuse me! You're not leaving me in this vise alone are you?" I shouted.

Belinda kept going and said, "Oh, you fussy puppy...the door's wide open so you'll have the emergency hall lights. I'll be right back."

Before I could shout NOOOO! She disappeared. And that's exactly how Bubba and Earl, "maintenance men Extraordinaire" found me...half-naked with part of me dangling from the Jaws of Life and the other part smashed between glass!

After exchanging a polite Hi, how's it going type greeting, Bubba (or possibly Earl) asked, to my utter disbelief, if I knew the power was off.

Trying to disguise my hysteria, I replied with as much calmness as possible, "Uh, yes, I did but thanks anyway."

"OK, you take care now" Bubba replied and waved good-bye as though I'd been standing in the line at the grocery store.

Two hours later, Belinda breezes in wearing a sheepish grin. Making no attempt to suppress her amusement, she said, "Oh I am sooo sorry! The power came back on and I totally forgot about you! And silly me, I went to lunch. Are we upset?"

And that, Your Honor, is exactly how her head ended up between the clamps...."

The judge could hardly contain her laughter as she said "Case Dismissed."

nana got a reaction from fran1959 in Should I Go Lr?
Despite the shorter lifespan and using more juice with LR attys, they are still what I use. I only use the regular ones at 5V now. The extra vapor I get from using LR is the difference between success and failure when it comes to vaping. For me at least. Before they came out with LR, I was perfectly happy with regular, but there is no way I could go back now. I know because I have tried. The only way for you to know what works best for you is to try them. Really, you need to try lots of different things to know exactly what works for you. In the end, that's all that matters.

    Good luck!!

nana got a reaction from Mark in Drip Tips V.s. Cartridges
When I first started vaping, we all mostly used cartridges. We all worked hard at trying to find the best filler and methods, etc., but nothing ever seemed to work well. Dripping quickly became the preferred method for most of us and has stood the test of time. Drip tips added to the ease and comfort of dripping. Although I've moved on to "bottom feeder" types of mods and absolutely LOVE them, I still drip a good share of the time. I have never had problem with juice leaking from an atty when I drip, but then again, I rarely put my PV down or put it in a pocket - if I do put it in a pocket, it's after vaping so the atty wouldn't have much juice left in it.
