The Joye 510, M401, and Kr8 models do not go into their respective PCCs without unscrewing the parts. It isn't really a big deal. Consider screwing the pieces together like pulling out your lighter and lighting a regular cigarette.

Almost all of us started with a list very much like yours. We wanted something that looked like, acted like, and tasted like a cigarette. After a week or two almost all of us changed our minds! (That's isn't a recommendation but rather just information to let you know that you are not alone!)

I normally recommend that people start with a Joye 510 or a Kr8 cartomizer type unit. The Joye 510 produces bunches of vapor and the Kr8 is really easy to use. If you are dead set on the idea of mimicking the size of a regular cigarette then the M402 is a good model. The M401 and M403 are the same model just with different length batteries.

I buy my Joye 510 products from Cignot. They have great prices and good customer service. And they carry a PCC (that is the case that charges the batteries on the go.)
LiteCigUSA has good prices and customer service for the Kr8 model and the M40x models. They do not carry the PCC for the M401 or M402 yet. (Those are different PCCs - one is taller to accomodate the longer battery.) You can get the PCC for this model from Sharp Smoker.

All of the cartridges and cartomizers (combination cartridge and atomizer) can be refilled. Be sure to buy at least three small bottles of liquid... in different strengths. I suggest around 12 mg, 18 mg, and 24 mg. You don't know what strength will be best for you until you try them for a while. AND... I also suggest that you get a couple of different flavors. You won't know what you like until you try it. And not all flavors with the same name from different companies taste the same!

At this point the most important thing is to try something! Chances are you will end up buying at least one more model in the near future. Each model has strengths and weaknesses.

    Good luck!

Okay - I was going to be a DB because I've tipped a few. Guineahill gave fantastic advice though. I have to say, I never understood folks who had to have it look like a cigarette. I've taken every drug and device under the sun, I've actually done acupuncture. I didn't care if if I have to place something in my ear and flap my arms to get me to stop smoking, I would do it.

So get the 510 with a PCC, there will be a learning curve, it will sometimes be a pain, if you need to, by all means keep a pack of butts next to you while you play and figure it out. My entire point is, when you find something that hits the sweet spot and puts you in control of the monkey instead of the monkey all over you, its truly liberating. Open your mind, you will be so amazed...

Once you start getting bored with that, and you will, play with the mods. The amazing thing is after a week or two, if you can drop the analogues, you'll actually forget about the monkey and become obsessed with the e-cigs (that's a good thing).

nana is correct on all counts. An empty cart should have dry polyfill in it. If it is wet, you have liquid. Either rinse them out (and dry), drip or just go ahead and try them. So my question is, did you get the lipton tea bag filler? Looking back, I see you were thinking of getting them, I think for a beginner, they are the best option, easy to fill again, easy to make, just a great option. So if you didn't get them and you're not sure how, PM me with an address, and I can get a bunch to you by Monday probably. I have TONS (kind of mis-ordered off of Amazon). If you can't figure out how to PM, send a note to homerrulesall@yahoo.com. Junk account but I'll be checking for your email. Let me know, thanx. I just don't want you getting frustrated before you even really get going.

I have to disagree to some extent. Like any addiction, there is a pavlovian component. The brain knows when you smoke, you also get something that makes you feel good. When you are stressed, you want to smoke because you know it it will being you something that feels good. When you vape, even 0, your brain is satisfied by the action because it has connected the act to getting the "good stuff", nic or THC, doesn't matter. This is an alternative, should never be a choice. IMHO

I don't think people smoke out of some desire to do so, they do it because it was cool at the time. Then you find, well, you really can't stop.

Vaping is not the exact opposite of smoking, it is the lessor of two evils (I use that word loosely). We also do not know its safe, we certainly hope so, and we are pretty well convinced even if its not, its safer than smoking, certainly smoking cigarettes. But much of the juice comes from China, they put poison in dog and cat food and baby milk. I'm a trusting person, but only so far...

I know, I paint a gloomy picture, but that's my point, we need to be aware and vigilant.

Can I just say after only a year and a half, I would give serious thought to just turning away. I have to give you props for looking at alternatives, and I am not dis-respecting your level of addiction. But I think you are in a position to be able to get a decent substitute like a 510 kit, pick it up to replace the ugly cigs and then work your way down to 0 mg and be done with this barely before you started. Respectfully, Joe. If not, we are here to help in any way we can.

If you have that many get a 30 day pill pill organizer, throw them in there and write or label what you want above them on the usually clear/opaque plastic.

If you have the 18 still around, get some 6, mix them up evenly and you should have 12mg, also will let you do 6 straight as well. If the 6 seems good and you still have 18 left, see if you can get some zero to mix with the 18, that will bring you to 9, lower if you use more of the lower strength. You can also get some VG juice (links are all over the place to see where to buy) and cut it down but flavor will be cut as well. Bottom line is are you sure the headaches are from vaping too much higher nicotine? I started at 24mg, but I stuck to my old smoking regimen, going outside, take about 5 minutes, try to go an hour between, etc. I was afraid of how much nicotine I was getting. Once I started bringing the level down I vaped like a fiend. Also, I see people using different strengths throughout the day. High in the morning and a couple times during the day, lower for the constant vaping, etc. Feeds both addictions.

I've seen two theories, start high and bring it down, start low and bring it up. Both have problems, I believe the issue with starting low is not feeding the nicotine monster ends up coming at you sideways, in other words it's subtle. Long story short I don't believe smoking is a direct result of your body calling for nicotine. Your brain has related good feelings with nicotine, and so when stressed (perhaps because of nicotine withdrawal) it relates the hand to mouth and vapor with getting calmer and calls for you to do it. One of the reasons vaping is almost a stress free substitute.

Yup - I just wanted to put it out there that my first post wasn't meant to suggest nicotine is bad or people should get off it. I wanted to get off it as I have a major artery that's in jeopardy of blowing (dissection). It was pretty much after the fact and discussions with speakeasy I realized it probably wasn't that big a deal I'm zero now and can probably get a nice rate on my life insurance just in case my gut doesn't blow right away!!

I think the one major rule is do whatever works. Goal is to get to no analogues but even one less is good. Now having said that, I think some might argue holding on to the old queues might make it more difficult to quit the old habits (smoking) but it sounds like you were struggling a little anyway. Keep on keeping on!!!

I posted a comment, that was shocking listening to the video. My comment:

I'm a little stunned someone presumably educated would publicly makes comments such as these. Did I just hear a doctor say that if you were to stop smoking cigarettes and replace them with e-cigarettes you MAY lower your risk of getting lung cancer a LITTLE bit?

There is one thing the good doctor is absolutely correct about, that there is someone with an agenda and they are trying to get your money from you by incorrectly representing an alternative. You only get one guess who that is.

In my opinion, go a little cheaper right now and get a 510 kit. Basically two ecigs so you have a backup. Spend the money you saved and buy some 24 and 11 mg juice. This way you an mix them to see what is good for you. 50/50 mix gets you 17.5 mg, so this way you get a nice range of nic. Plus you can do what alot of folks do and go 24 in the morning, and a little less later on. If the 11 is too little, oh well. My point is, and I own a spade and think it is great but if it fails, you will have to go to analogs waiting for a repair. Certainly not the end of the world but if you vape for more than a week without analogues, going back is GROSS. So my vote, as if it matters, is to get the 510 kit, save some bucks, and the 510 will be your backup for the spade later on when you get that. All interchangeable parts by the way (510s).
