  1. bacon.... i love actual bacon, and the juice definitely tasted like bacon, but vaping it kinda made me wanna die
  2. you can get any flavor from sweet-vapes.com in 100% VG, and they're all made in USA (their nic is from a US supplier as well). I like their kona cream at 100% VG.
  3. when you buy a replacement battery, it doesn't come with the cone adapter, you can buy them at the link provided below, but sadly, goodprophets doesn't currently have green http://www.shop.goodprophets.com/product.sc?productId=182&categoryId=46 the link below is from freedomsmoke.com, i've done no business with them, so i can't give any sort of recommendation, but it appears that they have green. http://freedomsmokeusa.com/product_info.php?products_id=671&osCsid=cdebef7e39929efe8373bbeedcf056ff
  4. shipping can be unreliable sometimes, and some places are worse than others, there are several ups sorting facilities that hold onto packages for an extra day or 2 for no conceivable reason. If there was a vendor that shipped fedex, i'd use them almost exclusively. i've had usps packages arrive the next day or 4 days later from the same place. once you have it all down to a science, you get a good idea of when to order new stuff so that it arrives shortly before you need it, and you'll begin to learn patterns from different vendors, it just takes time, the first couple months are the hardest.
  5. SV101 - from smartvapes.com, it's an amazing blend of excellentness, comes 50/50, and is crazy cheap at $11.99 for a 30ml bottle wild cherry from dfwvapor.com is another good one, so is black cherry from sweet-vapes.com
  6. Welcome to vaportalk! I get my juice from sweet-vapes.com, dfwvapor.com, and my all day vape (sv101) from smartvapes.com
  7. cleaning cartomizers well is a fairly intense process, in an effort to save a buck, i refined my cleaning regimen until it became a ridiculous 12-hour process involving boiling and an ultrasonic cleaner, and they still didn't work very well afterwards, you're always better off (IMO) buying new ones and making them last as long as you can, then tossing them when the flavor and vapor diminish. if you're in a tight spot financially and need to get what you got going again, pick up a nose bulb and force all the water/juice out of it (will take a good 20-30 pumps) and let it dry for 48 hours, it'll be usable, but not ideal. if you fill one right and keep it topped off, a cartomizer can last you a couple weeks or more. For the first 6 or so months i vaped, i pretty much dismissed the disposable nature of cartomizers and figured i could clean them and use them forever, but after a lot of trial and error, it's nearly impossible for me to justify cleaning cartomizers.
  8. I've found that the smoktek dual coil cartomizers work better for me with a high vg juice, the boge's will work, but not quite as well. boge's are excellent for the thinner juices and last a very long time, i'm at 3 weeks with one with an 80/20 mix juice in it and it still works perfect. also, with the thicker juices, you really have to spin the juice in, drip-down will not work, you'll get maybe 10 drops and it'll start coming out the bottom, whereas the dual-coils will (slowly) wick to the bottom with just gravity (i still spin them, because i'm impatient). As for cleaning, after 7 months of refinement, the cleaning regimen i ended up with consists of 4 or 5 boiling cycles, then about 15 cycles through the ultrasonic cleaner, blowing hot water through them with a nose bulb after every cycle. After this day-long death march and 48 hours of drying, they still aren't quite as good as when they were new, plus the taste of the last juice in them never really goes away completely, and they don't breathe as freely, if i value my time against the money i save by cleaning, i can look at it as paying myself $0.65/hour, factor in the electricity for the stove and vodka for the ultrasonic cleaner, and i'd be willing to bet that i'm actually losing money by cleaning them. Now i just toss them once the flavor and vapor drop out, and concentrate my efforts on keeping them working as long as i can by keeping them topped off, and putting the condoms back on when i go to sleep, or switch to a different carto with a different flavor in it. One thing i recently discovered is that it's kind of a bad idea to keep several of them filled and cycle them out, i'm probably the only person who ever did this, but basically they'll get nasty a lot quicker if they're full but not used frequently, so i just use one at a time until it dies then crack open a new one.
  9. Even if you end up not liking the tank system, all it takes is ten bucks for a 5-pack of cartomizers, or about the same for an atty and a drip tip. I personally didn't like the tank system, tasted like burning plastic to me, but i was probably doing something wrong. I basically just use cartomizers now, once you get the hang of them, they're great!
  10. So i usually vape 12mg in 2.0 ohm resistance cartomizers, and 8mg in 1.5 ohm cartomizers, which is about the same general feeling (throat hit). i recently got some 18mg juice for free for reasons unimportant to this post. it was, as expected, far too violent for me in 1.5 or 1.8 ohm atomizers, but it's quite good in standard resistance boge cartomizers, hits just like the above combinations. Foolishly assuming that the idea is to use less nicotine, would i be getting less nicotine by using lower nic juice with lower resistance, or higher nic juice with higher resistance? i realize that few studies have been done regarding nicotine absorbtion through vaping (except one silly one done by idiots with crap devices), but i'm curious as to the pros and cons of each method. I couldn't help but notice that a single standard resistance cartomizer kept on working with one fill for 8 hours straight last night (i know because steam told me how long i'd been playing fallout new vegas), my 2.0 ohm cartomizers are lucky to last 2 hour before needing refilling (my 1.5's last a long time, but because they're enormous), is it conceivable that by going to a higher nicotine juice, and using standard resistance cartomizers that i would end up using less juice as a result? I suppose this is more thinking with my fingers than actual questions, but i am curious about the opinions of people who've vaped for a long time, and what sways them in one direction or another, or do some of you do a mixture of the two? such as lr atty's for dripping lower-nic juice and sr carto's for higher-nic juice?
  11. when you first start vaping, and quit smoking, your tastebuds go crazy, and fluctuate wildly. what i do is have several very different flavors on hand, and change often. there are only a couple that i can buy in large quantities because they remain very good, but even with those, i have to take occasional breaks from them. and keep trying new flavors, if you don't like them, put them on the shelf for a while and try them again later, you never know what you'll end up liking in the future. for the 4 months that i was vaping and smoking, the flavors i liked remained constant because my tastebuds barely worked, now that i quit, the consistency has gone out the window, and i have to keep changing it up (also i have to keep a rubber band on my wrist and snap myself a lot because cookies taste amazing)
  12. eGo + 306 atty + 24mg sweet-vapes.com organic kona cream at 100% vg, that'll hit a thousand times harder than your xhale02
  13. DISCLAIMER: this is based on my personal tastebuds, everybody's are different, and this may not necessarily apply to yours. a lot of the juices i use are about 70pg/30vg from dfwvapor.com or puresmoker.com. high vg juices can be good, but only in some flavors. for instance, sweet-vapes' organic kona cream at 100% vg is awesome, same with their starbuckets mocha. it seems to be coffee flavors that lend themselves well to vg. lighter, fruity flavors are just plain terrible with a lot of vg, and end up tasting like tree bark. vg by itself has a very bark-like taste, and i suspect there are a lot of ways to make a bad tasting juice out of it. most vg-heavy juices i've tried have been pretty terrible. sweet-vapes seems to really know what they're doing with vg, maybe they just use a higher-quality vg? not sure. pg doesn't have much of a flavor on it's own, so the flavoring is all you're really tasting. getting the mix right was one of the most difficult (and expensive) for me in the beginning. I've tried a couple of 100% pg juices, but there was just something a bit off about them for me, hard to put my finger on, but i think at least some vg is necessary in almost any juice. plus pg is very thin, and more prone to leaking than vg, which is very thick, which makes it challenging to use with cartomizers, as it takes forever to fill them. at the end of the day, it all comes down to personal preference, just don't box yourself into one mix, or you might be missing out on something that you'll really like.
  14. my guess would be no, i never disconnect before going to bed, and haven't noticed any discernible drop in battery life, i did the same with my blu when i had it, which had auto batteries, and didn't notice any difference with it either, though admittedly i only had it for 2 weeks before getting an eGo.
  15. yeah, that's the primer you're vaping, and yeah, it is rather aweful (I always wash new atomizers out before using them, for me, the primer taste doesn't fully go away until you do). if you don't have any e-liquid, unfortunately you can't really start vaping just yet, so getting some is step one, once you've got it, fill your cartridges by dripping liquid into the polyfill until it stays wet-looking, then put the cartridge into the atomizer, give it about 15 seconds to wick, then vape it. this is probably the oldest method of vaping, some people still like it, though most direct drip or use cartomizers or tank systems, but it's good to try everything. when you order your juice, it may be a good idea to pick up a 5-pack of LR cartomizers, give those a try as well, there's a ton of videos on how to fill them. also grab a drip tip, they're about a buck and a half, and allow you to drip right through them into the atomizer, you'll be able to tell when it's time to drip more when the taste gets kinda burny, in time, you'll be able to tell before you get a mouthfull of terribleness. There's a lot more to all this, and you'll form questions as you go, post them on this forum and you'll get good answers, but step one is get some juice!
  16. i'll throw in another recommendation for the eGo, great battery life and so on, if you're trying to decide between the "regular" eGo and the eGo-T, remember that they're interchangeable. For example, you can buy a tank atomizer and cartridge, screw it onto your eGo battery, and it'll work, or screw an atomizer or cartomizer onto your eGo-T battery. whichever way you go, i'd recommend picking up a 5-pack of boge lr cartomizers as well, give those a shot. the eGo Maniac kit from goodprophets.com is usually a really good deal.
  17. i have an eGo, and i started out with standard resistance cartomizers and got almost nothing out of them, then i got a pack of lr boge's and it was much better. if you want a hard hitting, but hotter vapor cartomizer, try a dual-coil lr one, i use those and boge's for different juices with different nic levels, but they both work quite well.
  18. i'm right there with you, i'm at week 2, and the dfwvapor wild cherry is less and less flavorful the more i vape it, but other juices that i didn't like at first are becoming far more appealing. kona cream from sweet-vapes (probably similar to yours), was great 3 months ago when i was smoking and vaping, and it's still great now that i've quit. dfwvapor's chocolate hazlenut used to be kinda gross to me, but now it's excellent. the point is, your tastebuds will continue changing, so keep giving them new flavors and eventually it'll even out and you'll have a couple that you can use all the time. if you want a super flavorful juice, try puresmoker.com's bananaca.
  19. i got my ego kit from puresmoker.com, goodprophets.com sells the ego maniac kit which is an awesome deal. if you go with the ego-t, you'll probably want to order some regular atomizers and cartomizers to try out as well. the vapor talk store and forever vapor are good stores, but perpetually out of stock on everything.
  20. my understanding is that the higher the voltage, or lower the resistance, the quicker you go through the juice. the blu is a low-voltage device, so juice lasts longer. keep in mind that the blu uses cartomizers, which are far more efficient than the atomizer/cartridge combo at using all the juice. pick up a 5-pack of cartomizers and give them a shot as well. anything that says it's for the 510 will work with the eGo, btw
  21. a friend of mine got one of those, vapes it constantly, then goes out for a cigarette. most of the entry-level ecigs are like that, low vapor, low battery life. but hey, if it got you off the analogs, then great!! look into buying some different juices and refilling the cartridges yourself, that could save you some $ plus you'd get to try new flavors. if you do decide to upgrade, the eGo is a box full of excellentness, but the 510 or KR808D are also a good upgrade (i'd probably favor the 510 out of those 2). do a bit of research, ask a lot of questions, watch some videos, there are a lot of ways to vape, a crap-ton of devices to do it with, and a near-infinite number of juice flavors to try.
  22. if it's gotta be 100% VG, check out sweet-vapes, you can get any of their flavors in pure vg form.
  23. you may wanna try cleaning the connections with a q-tip and some alcohol.
  24. the conspiracy theorist in me says he probably got paid off by the makers of nicoderm or something to do a bogus study.. but the realist in me says.. if the only negative claim he's going to make towards the electronic cigarette is that it doesn't deliver nicotine, then i just can't see that doing too much damage. even if it is a big fat placebo, and it turns out that the lungs can't absorb nicotine from vapor the way they can from smoke..... who gives a ? the fact is that they work, i've only been smoke free for 6-ish days, but even if i'm not getting nicotine, my cravings are taken care of, and in the end, that's the whole point. the gum and the patch have a 95% failure rate because they don't address the behavioral aspect of the addiction, which i would argue is by far the strongest part of it. so while ridiculous studies conducted in a matter that skirts the scientific process in favor of generating a desired result may be insidious, as long as they're not aimed at an outright ban, i'm not particularly worried about them. But i do agree that a real study should be done, it's just hard for such a young industry to commission one.
  25. kona cream from sweet-vapes.com chocolate hazlenut from dfwvapor.com bananaca from puresmoker.com 3 of my favorite non-fruity juices, dfwvapor's wild cherry is also excellent
