  1. eGo is a great way to go, i'd also suggest picking a flavor that you're likely to enjoy, and get it in several nicotine strengths so you can dial in the right strength.
  2. also, your habits will change, since you won't be lighting something up and feeling like you gotta smoke the whole thing anymore, since you can just pick it up and puff whenever then set it back down. i applaud your vigilance, but i've been vaping for 3 months and would have a hell of a time telling you how many ml i vape per day. i just buy big bottles of juice, and order new ones when they get low, lol.
  3. nope, drop away, it seems like most of the entry-level ecigs are old models of joyetech or other manufacturer ecigs that are underpowered and outdated. for example, i'm pretty sure the blu is essentially a joye 302 with some paint on it, lol.
  4. you might want to look at going with the regular eGo first, and then later getting a tank atomizer and some cartridges, reason being, you can try direct dripping and cartridges, see how you like that method. I tend to dissuade people from tank systems, as my personal luck with them has been pretty bad. no leaking issues, but for me the taste was absolutely unacceptable and gave me a massive headache. from the videos i've watched, it seems like people who use menthol flavors like the tanks, and people who don't, dislike them. perhaps the menthol affect masks the burning plastic taste. hell, if you want, i'll send you my eGo-T LR tank atomizer (i can't bring myself to say atty either) and blank cartridges as i don't use them, then you can get a regular eGo kit, and try dripping, cartridges, and tanks (picking up some cartomizers wouldn't be a bad idea either). I don't wanna sound like a commercial, but puresmoker.com sells the regular eGo kit for $50 (it's the kit i started with), I've had very good luck with them, and their prices are generally a bit less than most on cartomizers and atomizers. just my $.02
  5. i think the fact that your sense of smell, sense of taste, and lung capacity come back are strong indicators that it's certainly better for you than smoking, but without the aid of long-term testing, it's hard to say exactly how safe vaping is for you. but when you look at things like fast food and car exhaust, it sorta becomes relative. the dangers of smoking are well known, and the obvious benefits of vaping are reason enough for me to continue, regardless of any unforseen dangers.
  6. congratulations and welcome ron, i believe you'll be infinitely more sassified with the 510 than you were with what i can only assume was an entry-level e-cig.
  7. yeah, juice is the hard part for me, i've gone with 4 or so different vendors, tried about 80 differend juices, and i've only come accross 5 or 6 that i like, and they're completely different in cartomizers than they are in atomizers. Jon
  8. come to think of it, i recently had that same basic issue, but it was because an atomizer was dying. Jon
  9. to answer your question, yes, all your 510 stuff, and ego stuff will work with an eGo-T battery, the only 2 differences are the click protection (which is awesome), and it has eGo-T written on it. i have 2 regular eGo batteries that came with my kit, and 2 1000mah eGo-T mega batteries, they all do the same thing, and work with the same stuff, the mega's just last longer. Jon
  10. not feeling obligated to finish a cigarette when i don't have enough time to, when i get where i'm going, i just put it down. also, no more lectures from self-righteous non-smokers who could smell it on me Jon
  11. no vapor at all sounds wierd, even at 100% pg. i guess if you're holding it in for a REALLY long time, it might all be dissipating into your lungs.... who knows. There's certainly less vapor with pg, but not a ridiculous amount. from what i've discovered so far, the difference in mix of pg and vg has a greater effect on the end result of taste than it does on vapor production. certain flavors lend themselves better to different mixes, for me personally, anything fruity needs to be lots of pg, very little vg, or it tastes chalky or a bit like tree bark, with coffee flavors, it's kinda the opposite, depending. i've only had one 100%vg juice that i liked, and it's a coffee flavor. 100%vg will make more vapor than a high-pg juice, but it feels about the same, which to me is what matters. sure i could get my cherry and watermelon flavors in 100% vg versions for more vapor, but they'd taste awful (and yes, i've tried). both of those flavors are just right at 80 pg / 20 vg, and the low vg content doesn't impact throat hit or vapor production in any really significant way. Try different mixes, find what works best for you Jon
  12. i'm gonna throw in another option, the smoktech dual coil cartomizers, they're 1.5 ohm resistence, so they hit a bit harder than the boge's, and they do change the flavor somewhat dramatically, but with certain flavors, it's a good change, and they're big and hold a lot of juice, i've gone a full day with one full carto. some people don't like these, but i've had good luck so far, just avoid the clear ones, you have to be super careful or they'll crack. I use dual-coil's for coffee flavors mostly, the vapor is too hot for fruit flavors imo, i stick to boge's for fruit flavors. Jon
  13. puresmoker.com, sweet-vapes.com, vaporkings.com, goodprophets.com, just to name a few Jon
  14. at this point it doesn't even take the whole song, just the intro and in my head i hear "we're no strangers to loooooove, you know the rules and so.... do i, a full commitment's what i'm thinking of, you wouldn't get this from any other guy, iiiiiiiiiiiii just wanna tell you how i'm feeling....." and on it goes. Jon
  15. i think my favorite thing about goodprophets is all the information they give on every product, most other retailers seem to expect you to already know what everything is and what it'll work with, I've ordered from GP several times after looking elsewhere simply because they explained the products so well Jon
  16. the eGo kit is $50 at puresmoker.com, and comes with a free bottle of juice. Jon
  17. son of a.... now that'll be in my head the rest of the day Jon
  18. you'll be hard-pressed to get anything going on the weekend unless you're handy with a soldering iron and can wire up a generic battery to the connector and button, 2 batteries going bad at once seems a bit odd, try cleaning the connections with some isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip, might just be really dirty and preventing a power transfer. Jon
  19. when i'm out and about, either boge lr cartomizer with drip tip and cone, or dual coil cartomizer with no drip tip or cone, generally sweet-vapes kona cream at a 50/50 mix. when at home, ego mega cylinder style lr atomizer with derlin drip tip and puresmoker's mellonica or bananaca. Jon
  20. as an emerging resident budget-minded individual (cheapskate), i always recommend cleaning things out thoroughly and keeping them going for a long time. i have a complicated, tedious and time-consuming method for keeping cartomizers going if you're interested. Jon
  21. or, use a plastic or derlin drip tip with the cartomizer, that way it won't be hot on your lips Jon
  22. i didn't start vaping to quit smoking either, i still do both, although i don't smoke very much at all anymore, vaping is just more satisfying.... except with the first cup of coffee in the morning, when i do quit completely, that'll be the hardest one to overcome, i think. Jon
  23. 1- find a vendor website (forevervapor.com, puresmoker.com, dfwvapor.com, goodprophets.com are ones i go to regularly) 2- order an eGo starter kit, throw in a couple bottles of juice that sound good in a couple different nic levels and a 5-pack of cartomizers (lr is generally preferred) 3- press the buy button 4- formulate questions and post them here Jon
