  1. **UPDATE- I'ts all been claimed, mods may delete this post** Hello everyone I have a box of SmokTek XXXL 2.5 ohm cartomizers (510 connection), 3 clear, 2 stainless, that i have no use for, as they don't work at 3.7 volts, also 4 regular Boge 3.0 ohm cartomizers, and 3 unbranded cartomizers (2.6-2.8 ohm). All are unused and unopened, first to pm me gets it all (if you don't have a variable voltage or high voltage device, the smoktek's will not work). Also, i have a box and a half of CE2 cartomizers that i'm giving away Jon
  2. if it's a new atomizer, it probably has primer fluid in it that needs to be cleaned out, what kind of atomizer is it, which kit did you order?
  3. dual coil carto's tend to have a tighter draw than boge's or atomizers, so the cone isn't really necessary, i haven't used mine in some time
  4. i got 3 18650 trustfire "flames" batteries (2400mAh), and they took about 5 hours to charge brand new with a partial charge, i've yet to drain one, but i'd imagine your battery and charger are fine
  5. for future reference, it might be a good idea to try boiling them 3 or four times for 10 minutes, blowing them out each time. or pick up an ultrasonic cleaner and clean them with vodka 3 or 4 times, just running hot water through them never seemed to work for me. i only use cartomizers now, which don't clean out too well
  6. i bought a couple of 1000mAh batteries around the same time, and neither of them last as long as they used to, that's just sort of the nature of batteries. getting half a day out of 650mAh batteries is pretty good with lr stuff. If you're looking for better battery life, you might want to take a look at the 18650 eGo tube mod http://www.vaporgalaxy.com/main.sc it's fairly enormous, and you have to buy a dedicated charger, but at 2400mAh it lasts a crazy-long time between charges, plus replacement batteries are like $8, so if one fails you're not out $20 for a new ego battery, i just bought one of these with a charger and 3 trustfire 18650 "flames" batteries for about $70. also the base is bigger, so it's far less likely to fall over if you stand it up on end like i do.
  7. i've had that flashing problem before when using cheap cartomizers, but not with boge's or smoktek's
  8. if you don't need variable voltage, the 18650 eGo tube mod is pretty awesome, lasts about 3 times longer than an eGo battery http://www.vaporgalaxy.com/main.sc
  9. wow, riva 1100mAh starter kit for $38.50? sounds pretty good.... not that i've ever used riva stuff, but still sounds like a pretty good deal to me
  10. i get almost all my cartomizers from sweet-vapes.com, dayna always has good prices, everything's always in stock, customer service is excellent, and her e-juice is amazing
  11. one of the best things you can do is go through a bunch of the topics here on the forum, keep reading and getting info and opinions, it really helped me out when i was just starting out. i spent a crapload in the beginning, as i'm one who learns through failure, if i'd taken more time to read forum topics, i'd likely have spent a lot less at first.
  12. the prices look kinda average to me, at least on the stuff i buy, in fact, trustfire 18650 flame batteries are about $4 more than vapor galaxy. eGo batteries are about $3 more than goodprophets. their eGo starter kit is about the same price as puresmoker. their emdcc's are the same price as sweet-vapes. boge's are about a buck cheaper per 5-pack. regular xl dual-coil cartomizers are the same price as sweet-vapes. I'm not seeing the huge savings everyone is talking about, maybe i'm just late to this party
  13. i use cartomizers almost 100% of the time, i use brand new ones with new flavors, i use regular dual-coil cartomizers for new juices, and emdcc's for my favorites. almost all the juices i use are high-vg (at least 50%), but for thinner fruit flavors, i use boge's. i don't think i've dripped for at least 3 months
  14. do you specifically want variable voltage, or are you just looking for the bigger battery? i just got the 18650 eGo tube mod, and i'm loving it, it hits just like an eGo, but lasts a very long time between charges http://www.vaporgalaxy.com/main.sc
  15. nicotine percentage is the main factor in throat hit, but flavor can play a role too, for instance, fruit flavors seem to hit much harder than everything else (that i've tried). pg is known for "better" flavor, but i think it's more of a case of it needing less flavoring, and lending itself well to certain flavor families. VG can be tricky to get right, not every juice maker knows what they're doing, and not every flavor can be made with vg. Fruit flavors, for example, are terrible when made with vg, but coffee and tobacco flavors are awesome with it. PG will make less vapor than VG, that is one constant, but pg will not always have "more" flavor. It all comes down to the right mixture, and the skill of the juice maker. Boba's bounty is the most obvious example of VG done right, it's got a ton of flavor, throat hit, and vapor, and it's 100% VG. pg is easier to use, it'll wick easily into any filler material, so that's a plus for it, whereas vg is more difficult, you have to use the right kind of cartomizers, and clean them more often, but it's well worth the trade-off when you find that perfect juice with a lot of vg in it.
  16. i've used 90% vg juice with the regular dual coil cartomizers filling with the cap method, and it takes no longer than 80% pg juice. with boge's on the other hand, even a 50/50 will take forever to wick. if you find a high vg juice you really like, get a couple of emdcc's (eGo mega dual-coil cartomizers), they work great with even 100%vg
  17. that initial waiting period while the batteries charge is torture, i just ordered an 18650 eGo tube mod with 3 batteries and a charger and had to wait 6 hours while it charged up before i could try it out, at least eGo batteries only take 2 or 3 hours
  18. you could always order some ego-c parts from somewhere that they're in stock and make your t a c, or order another couple packs of cartomizers (they are pretty cheap, after all)
  19. a 510 with a pcc (personal charging case) might fit the bill well, i've never been a fan of tanks, but i can tell you that the 510 tanks go through cartridges very quickly, you'd probably be better off with some boge's
  20. $69 for the mod, a charger, and 3 batteries, that's awesome
  21. wooooaaaaah thanks jeff, i had no idea such a thing existed, i might have to go that route
  22. So I've been using an eGo for about 9-10 months now, and i'm overall satisfied with it. I'm considering upgrading to either a provape-1 or a provari,, but i have some concerns, I've heard that neither of those work particularly well with dual-coil cartomizers, and that's mainly what i use. I realize that i could use boge's just fine with either, but the problem is that i use mainly high-vg juices, and the boge's just don't work very well with vg, whereas dual coil cartomizers such as the emdcc or xl, mega, etc. work very well with vg. I understand that for variable voltage devices, a higher resistance is preferable and i would take that into consideration. I think I'd rather stick with 3.7 volts and low resistance cartomizers. I'm looking hard at the provape-1 because you can get the high performance aw batteries for it, which i've heard are a lot better than standard eGo batteries, also it's made in the USA, and i'm into that sort of thing. my eGo 1000mAh batteries fade pretty quickly with dual coil cartomizers and in my head it seems like the provape-1 would just be all-around better. anyone have any experience with these combinations? I'd be fine switching to single-coil cartomizers except that they're too small, all the big cartomizers seem to be dual-coil, also, the taste with dual coil cartomizers with high vg juice is excellent, where the reverse is true with thinner high pg juice. I'm not chomping at the bit to get a mod or anything, but paying $5-$10 per battery is preferable to paying $20, especially when they're higher quality. I have no interest in cheap plastic mods or anything non-cylindrical. I've also looked at the icon and the prodigy (puresmoker.com), but i'm not sold on the bottom-battery thing. Any ideas?
  23. the boge cartomizers have a fairly dense filler material, 40% VG is about as high as i've gone with good results, i use them mainly for my thinner juices. any of the smoktek cartomizers work well with high vg mixes as they have a less dense filler material. the emdcc's are particularly good with 100% vg. I've yet to use a cartomizer that can go more than 3 or 4 fills of high vg before degrading and needing a good boiling, which is an unfortunate trade-off for vg.
  24. that's awesome, i always try to talk up e-cigs, i've got 4 people started on them so far, and many more thinking about 'em, it's a great way to pass on the juices i ended up not liking that much
  25. i have 2 boxes of ce2's that will likely sit on my shelf for the rest of time, you're lucky to get one good hit every 10 minutes with how slow they wick, yet they still manage to go through the juice way too fast. as for the device, it looks interesting, but it's not really doing much more than an ego does, i mean sure it goes up to 4 volts, but that's a negligible difference imo, and having the date and time on your pv just seems silly in a world with cell phones. if you want something with variable voltage get a provari, or the smok box thing, or some other mod. if you just want something box shaped, you're not exactly hurting for choices. there's no shame in sticking with the ego, every time i think i need to upgrade, i remind myself that i use the ego every day and haven't smoked in nearly 6 months.
