  1. i tried the smartvapes dripping atty and didn't like it. it took a crazy amount of juice to keep from getting dry hits, and was extremely leaky, drip shield probably would've helped that.
  2. the name isn't descriptive enough to tell what it tastes like without having tried it, what does it taste like?
  3. it is kinda fiddly at first, but it's easy enough to get used to, what i really don't like about it is the chrome finish, as soon as any liquid touches it, you have to clean it off with a damp rag, or have oily hands for the rest of the day. they do make it with the rubberized black finish, but i've not found one as a barebones kit, only with the batteries and charger, which i already have
  4. hmmmm, i may wait to try this out then, i watched a review where the guy used boba's bounty and he said he went through 3 tankfulls and it worked great. I'm finding lately that high-vg juice works great in dual-coil cartomizers for like an hour, then it takes a continuous 20-second draw to get anything out of it, except right after you top it off and still have some of the gurgle, once the gurgle's gone, so is the throat-hit. I'd hate to give up on vg, because i vape coffee and chocolatey flavors, which just taste kinda cartoony and ridiculous with more than 30% pg (IMO). Dripping works well with vg, but i simply have no patience for it, plus i'm out driving around all the time. If only it wasn't a $60 barrier to entry to try the ego-c
  5. that's way easier than taking a calculus class, thanks kitsume
  6. so i've been looking into trying tanks again, i was severely disappointed with the ego-t, and ended up giving the atty and tanks away, been solely on cartomizers since, but i've been taking a look at the ego-c, i like the idea of replaceable atomizer heads, and from what i hear, the c is a vast improvement for tank systems, and apparently works great with high-vg juice. however, no amount of digging has managed to turn up any actual tanks for it, you can buy the atomizer base and cone thing, and you can buy the heads, but absolutely nobody sells ego-c tanks. i figured it just uses ego-t tanks, but i can't find any confirmation of that anywhere, not in any stores, not on any forums. do people really buy the kit and use the same tanks forever? or is it just so obvious that ego-t tanks will work with it that nobody bothers to mention it? i'm not going to buy a kit, i have 2 18650-powered ego-style mods and 5 18650 batteries that i cycle through, so buying puny little batteries would be silly.
  7. yeah, i tried it when i first got it and it doesn't have the 5-click, this is also a newer style than the original e-power, also, the tube and button are one big piece, the bottom battery thing with the spring is the only part that comes off, here's a picture http://sweet-vapes.com/2011/12/02/ego-e-power-barebones/
  8. so after having this for over a month, my opinion has changed a bit. after about a week and a half, the button lost its "clickiness" it still works, but i'm unoptomistic as to how long. i've looked up forum threads about it and the general consensus seems to be that the button/control unit is crap, many have been doa, and many more lose their clickiness after a week or so, seems like joye rushed this out to compete with e-power and didn't thoroughly test it. i've since bought an e-power ego 18650, which has a regular ego-style button, but it lacks the 5-click protection, but does have a cut-off, i think it's probably gonna be a better device all-around, i still use the joyetech 18650, but only because there's no cut-off, so you can take a 30-second drag if you want. hopefully they'll release a new button/control unit soon that'll fit on the same tube. for now, it's probably best to avoid this mod and go with an e-power instead (sweet-vapes sells it barebones for $24)
  9. there is a pdf manual you can download, also a video at provape.com
  10. thanks everyone for the input, i think i'll switch to 24mg and more pg for the time being, and once i can afford a provari (or artisan vaping releases the mpv), i'll try lowering the nic and upping the voltage and going back to high vg kitsume: i'll have to look into this flash stuff, sounds interesting, got any links?
  11. well i've settled on flavors, i know what i like and all that, and it's more throat hit than nicotine that i'm missing, hell, i haven't smoked in nearly 8 months and i don't really get cravings for analogs. i know that part of it is that i use high-vg juice, which doesn't hit as hard and clogs up cartomizers really fast, i just hope that once i'm using 24mg, it'll eventually be too much and i can move back down.
  12. i'm wondering if anyone else has had this experience. I started out at 6mg-8mg with my original eGo, that was great for a couple months, then i moved to 12mg because 6-8 wasn't enough anymore, i was at 12 when i quit smoking and it was fine for a couple months, then all of a sudden 12mg didn't cut it and i had to jump up to 18mg, which was fine for a couple months, but now it's not hitting the spot anymore and i'm having to move to 24mg. I use a new cartomizer whenever i change flavors or they get warn out, so it's not a matter of diminished vapor production, i have 5 nearly-new 18650 batteries and 2 devices that use them (the joyetech 18650 tube mod and the e-power ego 18650), also a viper vv passthrough that goes up to 4.2v. i'm at the point with 18mg now that i have to take a 15-second drag to get any satisfaction out of it (24mg juice is on the way). Is this a normal thing? will i reach a point when i need less, or will it always be more until i'm vaping 36mg at 6v?
  13. well, i started with 8mg, went to 12mg, then that wasn't enough so i went to 18mg, now 18 mg isn't hitting the spot anymore, even in a brand new cartomizer (dual coil 1.5 ohm) on a fresh battery, i've accepted that i'll eventually have to go with vv so i can turn it up when it's not enough, unfortunately i can't afford a provari, the mpv by artisan vapor isn't out yet, and i've heard nothing good about the lava tube with dual-coil cartomizers (plus it's plasticy and chinese). I know it's not a bad device, i have a joyetech ego 18650, an e-power ego 18650, and a viper vv passthrough (only goes to 4.2v), the only one i can use is the joyetech 18650 because there's no cut-off, and it takes a 15-second drag to get the job done, the pass-through and the e-power cut off too early and i don't get enough throat hit. I've already ordered some 24mg juice, but i have 2 full bottles of 18mg, and it's sweet-vapes juice so that's $40 i'd hate to not use. i guess i could let it sit there until i get a vv device, but that could be a long time, adding some nic juice just seemed like a logical fix
  14. greetings diy'ers, the time has come that 18mg is no longer enough, i have to take 15 second drags to get anything, the problem is that i've got a bunch of 18mg juice that i still want to use, i was on sweet-vapes and notice the nicotine in the diy section and figured i could just get some of that and make my liquid stronger by adding some of that.... i did some research, came accross a few calculators that were clearly designed for mathematicians and are way over my head. is there a simple formula ? or do i need to take a math and chemistry class?
  15. hey mega, what size bottles you need? i got craploads of 10, 15 and 30 ml *EDIT - nevermind, i'll just send a bubble mailer full of various sizes Anyone else need empty dropper bottles?
  16. well dang, i may have to get one, unless the mpv comes out sooner
  17. i wonder if it'll work better with lr stuff, like dual-coil cartomizers, that's the main reason i haven't bought a provari
  18. sweet-vapes sells them for $5.99 for a 5-pack (they're trying to get rid of them), i was sorely disappointed and gave them away, had to wait 4 hours between puffs so they could re-wick, it's likely i was doing something wrong.
  19. well it looks good, but i wonder how portable it'll be might be hard to use in the car, guess you could just roll down the passenger window
  20. sorry it was too late, but sweet-vapes does have ce2's on sale for like 6 bucks for a pack of 5, http://sweet-vapes.com/2011/06/05/xl-clearomizer-r5/
  21. i got the eGo 18650 tube mod and love it, it takes 18650 batteries, so if you get the trustfires, it's 2400 mAh, http://www.vaporgalaxy.com/Genuine-Joye-eGo-eGo-T-Series-Batteries_c29.htm
  22. Don't give up on vg, i only use cartomizers and use almost all high or 100% VG liquid, Boge's are no good for vg because they're too dense, and CE2's aren't good for much of anything IMO. Any cartomizer made by smoktek will work with high vg as their filler material is less dense, ego mega dual coil cartomizers (emdcc's) are good for vg, but i've been sticking to just regular old xl dual coil cartomizers and having great luck with them. As far as vg gunking things up more than pg, that is definitely true, but individual juices will behave differently, for example: "sv101" from smartvapes will totally clog up any cartomizer before you even fill it a third time, but "mostly vg" juice from sweet-vapes doesn't, i've gone through more than half of a 30ml bottle on one cartomizer, by comparison, a boge with 80% pg juice can last me for more than 60ml before i need to clean it, which is great, except i don't really like high pg juice (except for fruit flavors). It is more difficult, and more expensive to vape vg with cartomizers, but far from impossible, and if you love vg as much as i do, it's well worth it.
