DarthVaper got a reaction from Judy A in Looking for a Good Caramel Macchiato
    Hi folks,

Since I'm not ordering from Juicy Vapor anymore (if you don't know, the co-owner was arrested and charged with some pretty abhorrent crimes. I'm an attorney and I resolutely believe in innocent-before-proven-guilty, but if he turns out to be guilty, I don't want to be funding his legal defense), I've been hunting for a good Caramel Macchiato or equivalent.

    I've tried:
Vapor Talk (of course) - sorry Chris, maybe I got a bad batch, but it doesn't taste good and I don't want to bother you with a support ticket.

Virgin Vapor's "Organic Caramel Kona Milkshake" - the best so far, but a strong alcohol flavor mixed in that I'm getting tired of.

DIY Flavor Shack - tastes like burnt coffee, no caramel flavor at all.

Any other Caramel Macchiato lovers out there? Where can I find a good one?

    Thanks in advance!

Just took a quick look and it seems like there are only two resistance levels to choose from: the 1.5 ohm and 1.2 ohm coils. There could be others but I didn't see any. If the 20W works in voltage mode, I'd stick with that until or unless you get a different battery.

If I remember correctly, it was Earthling who told me to set the iStick 20W at volts instead of watts. The 20W doesn't read wattage well and burns hot. At volts, it works much better. Also, since it runs hotter than what the display reads, you'd be better off with a higher resistance coil like 2.0 or 2.5 ohms. Less chance of burning up a coil that way.

I have two 30w Isticks, a 40wTC and a 50w. I love them all. The 30 and 40s are the perfect size to carry around (the 50 is a little big) I don't use the TC,, I only bought it cuz the price was right and thought I might someday try the temp control... Haven't felt the need yet. They last two full days and recharge pretty quickly. I get mine from Vapor Authority... Great prices and super fast shipping.

    Hi folks,
In the market for a good mini device to carry around with me.  I'm not looking for sub-ohm.  And I'd like to go as inexpensive as possible with the best quality.
My eLeaf iTaste 20W has been so unreliable since I bought it early this year. Now it's not holding a charge for long at all.  I've been using the GS-Air tank on it with 1.2 Ohm coils.
    Many thanks in advance!

I have a Sigeli mini 30w. I love it for the small size. One 18650 battery and I'm good to go. It can be charged with a USB, that I only use when I'm in a pinch.

I love my Cloupor Minis... I have several of them in 30W size and they are very reliable, rugged, and portable (small).  They are roughly the size of two 18650 batteries side-by-side, but they only use one, obviously.  You can pick them up from several places online for under $30...  101Vape.com, VapeNW.com, GearBest.com, just to name a few.
They also have the 50W-TC version out called Mini-plus, which is the same size as the 30W mini.
Another great small device is the Wismec Presa 40W or 40W-TC... they are smaller than the Cloupor and have a built-in 2600mAh battery.  I have 3 of these as well, and they have been VERY reliable workhorses for the past few months!  They run from $28-33 for the standard, and $36-42 for the TC version.

The Eleaf iStick 20w was the worst of the lot. I love the 50W version I now have nine of them...
Are you looking for something that has the battery integrated into it like the iStick or do you want to buy the batteries (and charger) separately?

Switched to 50/50, 3 mg juice and it's working great at near 30 watts.  Thanks again for all the advice.  I'm part of the club!

Nicotine is absorbed faster as heat increases.  This has been proven by researchers many years ago when testing the patch...   Yes, this has been discussed in several threads, but always warrants re-stating
You are not technically increasing your intake by sub-ohming, but your body processes the Nicotine faster when sub-ohming, which is why you should reduce the Nicotine levels in your juice.  You get more volume and it is absorbed faster (hotter), so it takes less to do the same job, so to speak... Think of it like shot-gunning a beer, or taking shots of Bourbon, rather than sipping...

If you're use to 6mg at 1.5 Ohms, you may want to dial on down to 1.5 or 2mg   You'd be amazed how much a difference it will make to drop your nicotine levels by 50-90% when you sub-ohm (depending on how low you go).
Since your dropping your Ohms by 66%, and increasing your heat (dramatically), you'll probably find that 3mg is still too much, since it is only half what you were using at 1.5 Ohms?

Excellent advice, Earthling.  I failed to mention I'm vaping 6 mg in both instances.  My main reason for going sub-ohm was to further dial down my nicotine intake.  Seems paradoxical that I'd be absorbing more nic by sub-ohming a lower mg content, but it makes sense the way you put it.
I'll brew up some 50/50 at 3 mg and post back.

I'd say the 70% PG, and the Nicotine level is what did you in...  When you go below 1.0 Ohms, you have to really dial back your Nicotine, and up your VG content to 50% or higher.
I regularly use 12mg in my 1.5 Ohm tanks, but when I sub-ohm, even to 0.5, I drop my Nicotine to 3mg to cut back on the burn and the buzz... Nicotine is absorbed faster as heat increases   Also, you're not getting any "real" cloud because of the PG content.  VG is the cloud producer, and sub-ohm coils really prefer 50/50 to 30/70 mixes so you don't fry your throat...

Triangle Vape has the SmokTech Xpro M50 65W Box Mod from for $46, and the Efest 18650 2500mah 20A/35A IMR battery for $7. No need to buy a charger for the 18650 battery because the Xpro charges through a USB port and comes with a cable. Shipping is cheap & fast, too.

I've had mine for a couple of weeks now and it has really impressed me.YMMV.

I was digging around today and found them for $29.99: http://vapenw.com/box-mod-20w/cloupor-mini-30w I have bought 3 mods from them and have had excellent luck! I have been digging around to find an enclosure to put a DNA 25 in. I am stuck between the cloupor mini and a VS DNA30.

FYI, CVapor.com has the Cloupor mini (30W) for roughly the same price as an iStick 20W, and they are only a few millimeters larger than the iStick. Granted, they require a single 18650 battery, rather than being a self-contained unit like the iStick, but it may be something to consider?

I gotta say that it looks like variable wattage box mods are the future of vaping. There are many to choose from and they're comfortable to hold. I paid less than $50 shipped for my M50 and it'll handle any delivery device you want to put on top of it. I have a dozen (or so) tube mods, but this is what sees the most action lately, and it's what I take with me on the go.

Smok's Xpro M50 65 watt VW box mod and Dripper RDA.

i currently run an ipv mini 30w...it works great and low maintanence, and fits my big bear claw hands just great...

    http://www.myvaporstore.com/iPV-Mini-30-Watt-MOD-Pioneer4you-p/p4u-ipv30bk.htm

and that is currently on sale for $49.95 as well... i love this mod it works great for me and i run a mutation x v1 rda at 1.1 ohms @28 watts and can get a soilid 2-3 hours vape time on it. But this is just my opinion, it is clearly your call on what to purchase.

Despite all the fancy toys I have these days, my go-to favorites that I use most are still the Vision Spinner 1300 mAh (not the Spinner II). It's a variable voltage eGo type battery but a little bigger around than a 900 mAh. Just picked up two more at my local B&M today and I saw that Vision tweaked it a little. I like the new changes even better!

Hi all, long time forum veteran Darth Vaper here. Sorry I haven't been on the forums so much lately. I kinda settled into a groove with my Vamo v.5, my Kanger AeroTech tank and making my own eliquid. I haven't been keeping up with the new tech at all.

The Vamo is working just fine for me, but it's too big and awkward to carry around when I go out. I have been using, (and don't laugh) eGo 900 mAh batteries (no, not even the VV ones) and an Evod BCC when I'm out and about.

But the eGo batts are starting to get old and not hold much charge anymore. I'm looking for suggestions for a nice mod that fits well in the hand, is easy to use while driving and fits discreetly in a jacket pocket. The battery can be built-in or take protected batteries, doesn't matter. I generally like the EVOD tank, so something that would work with it or a similar tank is what I want.

Not really into the whole sub-ohm thing as I don't understand it. I want something that's pretty low-maintenance, too - I haven't gotten into rebuildable atomizers, although I expect it's the next step (I mean hey, I'm already making my own juice!).

I love this forum because you guys/gals always give great suggestions. I look forward to reading them!

In other news, March 3rd will mark SIX YEARS since I last smoked an old stinky! I feel like I owe my life to the invention of e-cigarettes, because I never thought I'd be able to quit tobacco.

    Cheers all!

If I never smoked analogs? I'd like to think I would stay away from it but I honestly don't know. As a former smoker of 30+ years I was just happy to have found something that actually worked to get me off cigarettes when everything else didn't.

Vaping is in the headlines, it's Vogue, it's hip, it's rebellious... People rush to buy Converse hi-tops or Sperry's because celebrities are wearing them... The fedora is making a come-back as a fashion statement. You are 100% correct, there are (too) many people that follow the crowd (sheeple), and will try vaping because they see it in the media or one of their "cool friends" doing it. These people vape as a fashion statement, and will likely give it up as soon as the new, "hip" thing comes around.

I vape to get my nicotine-fix, after 30 years of conditioning and addiction. If someone has a love for peppermint and wants to vape 0-nic peppermint, let them (as long as they are an adult, making an adult decision).

Would I try it if I had never smoked? 100% chance of "NO"... I'm not a follower, and I don't care what the celebrities or sports-stars are doing! And no, I don't own any Chuck Taylor's or Sperry's, or a fedora, either
