It looks a little loose and I wouldn't have that much bend so quick right after the coil. Your wick tightness should be just short of moving/bending your coils as you pull it through. In fact, you may need to put a little counter tug with your other hand on the opposite side as you pull to "stretch" the cotton a little. Once through, you should do a light combing/fluffing of the tails before you bend and place them. Juice them up really really well and let them sit a little so the juice saturates completely through. Juice a little more and pulse fire a few times. Juice a little more and you should be ready to go. You will probably need to drip juice around every five draws. Try not to chain vape so as to give the juice time to resaturate to the middle of the coil. As a side note, I usually go with larger ID coils (3mm and larger) as this also helps with not getting dry hits and greater surface area in contact with the wicking for more vapor production.

It's possible that the drop broke the coil in the atomizer or possibly something internal in the battery when you dropped it. As Tam said first thing to do is change the atomizer.

I googled, "smok v8 stick blinks 4 times" and got a link to this information:
    1. 8 seconds protection:the LED light will blink 5 times when the power button is held for longer than 8 seconds, and the battery will automatically shut down the output.
    2. Resistance protection:when the atomizer resistance is lower than 0.1 ohm or higher than 2.5 ohms, the LED light will blink 4 times and the battery will automatically shut down the output.
    3. Low voltage protection:when battery capacity is lower than 3. 3V,the LED light will blink 15 times and the battery will automatically shut down the output.
If LED light blinks as below, then it is malfunctioning.
    1.LED light keeps blinking.
    2.LED light keeps lighting.
    Solutions:
Please try to use coil or tank which resistance is between 0.1 ohm and 2.5 ohms.
This means that the coil in your tank is too low in resistance and needs to be changed.

Joined these forums back in 2013, when vaping was still new. Took a long break from vaping but have started back up vaping CBD. I no longer vape nicotine but love vaping just the juice. What's the best vape liquid now? Nicoticket was my favorite but it took a down turn.

Just for fun, what's everyone's favorite e-juice and why?
I'm a big fan of Vape Wild e-liquid. Prices are very reasonable! My current favorite flavor is their Hannibal Nectar e-juice. Love the blend of tropical fruits, especially the taste of peaches and berries. Haha

If you change your settings from TC to watts, you might get a better vape from your mod and tank. I'd start around 20 watts and take a puff. If that's not doing it for you, go up a few watts and try again until you get a harsh vape or a slight burnt taste. Back it down a touch and you should have your sweet spot for that coil. Just a thought.

Another thing you could try is to thin out your new eliquid. In your original post you said you used the 60VG/40PG with no problems. Your new juice is 70/30. If you can get some regular PG, I would take a little of the 70/30 juice and put it in a separate bottle to experiment so you don't screw up your whole bottle. If you don't have access to plain PG, get some distilled water (don't use tap), and add a few drops to 1 ml of eliquid and mix well. Then, try to vape to see if you're still getting dry hits. If so, add another few drops of distilled water to your eliquid and try again. I've done this with some of the old set ups when I first started vaping, it works well but you have to do it only a few drops at a time or you risk getting watery eliquid you can't fix or vape.

Hello everyone. I'm Derek and I'm new to vaping. I've been at it for about 3 weeks now. I started vaping because I want to quit smoking. I started with a Mi-pod recommended by my local vape shop. And I'm kicking myself for not switching sooner lol. I then wanted to try better things and was also suggested and bought a Vaporesso Switcher with the NRG tank. And I love it too. So with that being said, can anyone help me get the most I can out of it and still be safe? Like what battery to use, etc... Thank you in advance for all the help. Here's a pic of my stuff too.

My first question is: What does the label on the LiPo pack say? Send a Pic?

First we need to determine the packs electrical and physical characteristics.

Welcome back!  I'd guess just about everything, lol.  Layers upon layers of sophistication along with every gimmick people could think of.  Flashing lights, touch screens, vibrators, clocks.  I heard one unconfirmed tale of an mp3 player.  But the basics are the same.  Still dangle some cotton in juice.  Push a bunch of electrons through a wire to heat up the juice.  Inhale the vapor!  Have fun getting re-introduced.  You may be surprised at the options.

Looks real sharp to me.  Glad you got a lot of "take home" experience though.  I think about learning new joining configurations in wood working.  Oh my.  A lot of wasted wood and some hair loss.   But once all the techniques are down, some damn nice results.

Welcome back! Well, he isn't far from wrong with respect to inexpensive mass produced China Mods (generally speaking). Personally I have had fairly good luck with most of my Mods with the exception of those made by iJoy. I'm fairly gentle with mine and most of them have lasted.

As far as the latest and greatest, I really can't say for sure. Part of it depends on what you are looking for. Personally, I prefer just about any Mod with an Evolve DNA board or a YiHi board. In addition to that I like the Geek Vape Ageis and VOOPOO DRAG. There is a bit of a stir about the Gene chip, which seems to be very good.

Hi, I thought I'd post in the introduce yourself section since I've been away so long.  I used to be a member here back in 2014/2015, but the temptation of cigarettes got the best of me.  I finally decided to give vaping a second chance.
I got a Mi-One a little while ago and have been extremely satisfied with it.  Man, vaping has come a heck of a long way since 2014, the Mi-One beats the hell out of an ego battery with a CE4.  I feel way more confident this time around.
Anyway I just ordered a Charon 218w and a wake tank and am really looking forward to it.  I am also looking to re-connecting with old friends here as well as meeting all the new members.
