And also, I'll just add - that set up is designed to used with a direct to lung hit instead of a typical drag like you would on a ciggy. If you try to drag it like a cig and then inhale it's going to choke you out. You want to open up the airflow and inhale directly into the lung in one smooth hit.  It's a little counterintuitive if you are used to pulling it in to your mouth and then sucking it in to your lungs. Try a small direct to lung hit. You should notice a big difference.

There are a few members who are into clouds but not that many. Most of us are more into getting off analogs and staying off and helping noobs to do the same.

Wow, I didn't realize you were sold a mechanical mod and dripper!  B&M's really chap my behind when they sell an advanced set-up to a beginner!
Comp is right, what you need to be successful is a simple, variable-voltage/variable-wattage battery like the iStick 30W or 50W, or an MVP 2.0, 20W, or 3.0.... something with a self-contained battery.  For tanks, the Nautilus mini or a Kanger ProTank2 or Kanger AeroTank V2 would server you far better, IMO.  I know many that use the Aspire K1 tanks, and love them for their simplicity and price (~ $10 retail).  Tanks are a matter of personal preference, so you will probably have to try a couple, but ANY tank is better (for a beginner) than the dripper you're using right now
8mg level of nicotine on a dripper (depending on how low they built your coil's resistance) would be equivalent to 18-24mg of Nicotine in a standard tank/clearomizer/glassomizer.  So, when you decide to move to a tank set-up, keep that in mind.  A typical 2-pack-a-day smoker will need a minimum of 18mg of Nicotine to be successful at quitting.  Go even higher if you need to... it will cut the urges to smoke.  You can always taper off in time.  Nicotine is not the enemy.... it's the 4000+ chemicals and carcinogens in cigarettes that are the problem!

I have been vaping for over 2 years now and I never had the desire to get a mechanical, Comp is right when he said these B&Ms for the most part do not know what a beginner needs. In my opinion most B&Ms are run by cloud chasers.

I should say as well that a mech is really not for someone just starting out. I hate when B&M's don't get the idea that everyone don't need a mech.

I hope you have luck kicking the stinkies habit, vaping did it for me. You would have been better off with a regulated mod rather than a mechanical like you have, but with the savings by quitting cigarettes you should be able to get one before very long.

Rich is correct... MAX-VG means the only PG used is in the flavoring, but there is no way to know the % of flavoring.  Generally, flavorings constitute between 15% and 30%, so the VG content could be 70% or as high as 85%... or even higher (as mentioned above) if the flavorings are VG-based (not very common though).

Hard to say for sure, by the looks of it you have 8mg nic content, and the max VG could be 100% minus the PG used in the flavor, or possibly they used VG based flavor too. Hard to say for sure. If you get a 80VG/ 20PG ratio with 8mg nic it would be close. Looks like mango flavor to me.

Welcome!  This is the only method that's worked for me, and I've got almost 50 years of Marlboro Reds under my belt, but been smoke free for 2 years.  With the right battery, tank and liquid you get to replace the throat hit, nicotine, and imitation smoke exhaled which is a huge part of the smoking addiction.  I just offer this 'beware' advice because I wish I'd known about it when I started vaping.  The FDA and congress made a big deal getting big tobacco to admit the addictive nature of nicotine but the FDA and congress were incredibly naive and stupid IMO.  They failed to get big tobacco to address the other addictive properties of tobacco which again IMO and experience are far more difficult to overcome than nicotine.  If nicotine was the real bad guy, we'd all be able to quit with nicotine patches and a fake cigarette for the hand to mouth habit.  It seldom works; most of us here have tried it again and again without result.  This works if you make yourself aware of the other sneaky cravings that are in tobacco.  It feels like they lace the cigs with things that work as bronchodilaters , steroids, narcotics just enough to make you want to keep smoking and not feel the effects until you've gone a bit without cigs, like a night's sleep and you wake up feeling all the damage that you've done.  Notice how bad your lungs feel when you wake, and how quickly they feel better with the first cigarette.  I mention these things because if you're aware of them you can know what you're feeling and be prepared.  Most here advise using higher nicotine levels when those cravings hit and I totally agree.  It does work for some reason.  However after two years, when for some reason I can't vape because of location or social issues, I don't miss it any more than I'd miss a second coffee.  I really don't think nicotine has any kind of hold on me compared to the other unknown additives to tobacco.   Best of luck to you,  It really works. And best of all, it's fun and you can still portray that bad boy image if you like that as I do without risking your health!  Win Win!

Yabaadaabaado reacted to Earthling789 in New to Vaping. What to buy
    Sorry, Cesar... I gotta disagree.
Buying a cheap starter kit may seem like saving money, but cheap is usually poor quality and poor performance - think gas-station vape-pens.  These things will almost always discourage a new vaper and send them running back to analogs.  A good starter kit with reliable batteries (Kanger, Vision, Joye) and replaceable-coil clearomizers work far better... and usually only cost a few dollars more than the cheap-o, no-name, garbage.  There is also nothing wrong with your "starter" set-up to be intermediate gear.  I often recommend KPT2's, Aerotanks, iSticks, Kbox-minis, and other "intermediate/advanced" equipment to new vapers.  Nothing is written in stone that you MUST start vaping with an eGo 650mAh and a Ce4 disposable tank!
Also, smokers are always drawn to tobacco flavors as new vapers, because it is a mental-thing to think you need/want "tobacco", but in my experience (and listening to a lot of vapers), the vast majority will agree that finding a good fruit or bakery flavor (not a tobacco flavor) is what kept them vaping and away from analogs.  There are exceptions, sure, but they are very low percentages.  One of my ADV's has a small amount of Cuban Cigar flavor in it, but the main flavor is fruit/sweet (the cigar flavor adds the right amount of spice to compliment the fruity flavor, and does not add the nasty tobacco flavor at all).   Vaping works as a smoking cessation tool because it satisfies the hand-to-mouth action, provides a mouth/lung filling vapor, provides a "visual" of vapor on exhale (that reminds the eyes of our former smoking), provides a flavor that we like (to keep us vaping), and finally... provides Nicotine to our body which reduces the withdrawal that quitting cold-turkey or using ineffective gums or patches provides!
