  1. I'm interested in knowing how the SO is doing in puppy school. I'm interested in the puppy, too...but the SO in puppy school sounds so much more fun.
  2. Honestly, I normally run the .15 ohm coils in my baby beasts at 75-85 watts, depending on the juice. The vapor I get from that isn't as warm as the smoke from a cigarette (to me).
  3. How did you burn your lips with a delrin drip tip? Vaping 24mg @1.8 ohms vs vaping 3mg at .4 ohms can definitely make a difference. With the .4 ohm coil, you're vaporizing the nicotine more efficiently and you're also producing a lot more vapor than what you do with your preferred setup.
  4. I suspect one of two things is going on (or possibly both). #1 - A classic example of "what is hot to one person isn't necessarily hot to another" or #2 - Psychology is coming into play. It's possible you have "psyched" yourself into believing that sub-ohm vaping is supposed to be hot, therefore your experience is a hot vape. As far as harsh vapor is concerned, it might be the PG/VG ratio. I know I prefer 80% VG in my liquids for sub-ohm purposes. Some juices I can vape at 70% VG, but anything lower and it does tend to be a little harsh for my tastes. Also, since I don't know what nic level you are at, if you didn't drop the nic level by at least half (and I know you normally like vaping at 1.8 ohm), then suddenly vaping 3mg nic liquid will be mind blowing, and not in a good way. As high as you normally vape ohm-wise, you should probably decrease the nic by 75%.
  5. There's still that one thousandth of a percent where I'm not positive. However, since SMOK doesn't make drop-in coils with SS wire, it doesn't make sense that they would be sending SS coils with their RBA decks.
  6. But has he survived this "family"? Ya gotta get him on here, @Foofightervapegirl. We promise we'll go easy on him.
  7. The fire department shows up because one of your neighbors thought your house was on fire...
  8. The Baby Beast, if you decide to go that route, is currently available from Vapor Talk's own store for $21.95. Replacement coils are currently available for $15.95 to $19.95, which is right in the range mentioned above.
  9. I keep shop rags around. In my car, in my work laptop case, in my desk at work...places like that. My leakage issues are typically limited to the things I mentioned above; warm days or drastic altitude changes. When a tank starts to leak, I wrap a shop rag around the air holes or slots and blow into the tank to blow out the liquid that has leaked. After that, I fire the mod to heat the coil and simultaneously blow. That will burn off any liquid that didn't get blown out. Then I return to my regularly scheduled vaping session. Preventing leaks in the first place is key, as you know. Keeping your tanks in good working order (regularly inspect O-rings and gaskets, check glass integrity, proper installation of coils, etc.), don't over-fill, keep tanks upright (even the best tanks will leak when they are on their side), and keep in mind that thinner liquids are going to be more prone to leaking will help prevent leaks from happening in the first place. Also, one other cause of leaks is NOT vaping a tank completely. If a tanks with liquid sits for a couple of days without being used, the vacuum that is created through the act of vaping will slowly release and liquid WILL leak out.
  10. Based purely on the wrap, I would say that's an LG HE4. It's a good battery. As your family member how old the battery is, though. The LG, Samsung and Sony batteries last quite a while if cared for properly, but they do eventually run their course and won't take a charge anymore. Even if the battery is brand new (and from the looks of the wrap, it looks fairly new or your family member takes care of his/her batteries), I would do as @Earthling789 suggested, go out and buy at least two more. Put dates on them (preferably with a label maker if you have access to one, but a Sharpie or other permanent fine tip marker will do). As far as the mod itself, it'll fire down to .1 ohm (up to 3 ohms), so your range of options as far as an atomizer just increased a little bit. The Kanger Subtank mini or Toptank mini, as have already been suggested, are both excellent choices. Currently I'm partial to the Baby Beast, which the Koopor mini 2 can handle quite easily.
  11. Leakage is actually an issue that can arise with any tank, not just the "Beast" line. Atmospheric conditions, drastic altitude changes, VG/PG ratio, coil priming method...all of these can lead to leaking. I have Baby Beasts and Cloud Beasts in my daily rotation and, with the exception of the occasional extra warm day or trip to the mountains, I don't have any leaking issues with any of my tanks. They both have their advantages and disadvantages over each other. The Cloud Beast has a larger capacity, but the Baby Beast is slightly more convenient due to its more compact size. They are both workhorses and I really wouldn't rate one better than the other.
  12. Give me a minute to pick my jaw up from the floor. It immediately dropped upon learning @Tamis pulling the trigger on a Baby Beast. The only coils I've used are the T8 (.15 ohm) and the Q2 (.4 ohm version that comes pre-installed). Both coils provide a nice balance between flavor and vapor. The T8 coil has a slightly tighter draw than the Q2 and as a result, it is easier to mimic the MTL style you prefer. And yes, even though it is a sub ohm tank and is meant for DTL hits, it is possible to MTL with this tank.
  13. I'm the exact opposite from @Bebop. I tend to stick to fruit based flavors as my ADV's and occasionally mix it up with the coffee flavors and "dessert" flavors. To this day, more than 2 years after I started vaping, one of my favorite ADV's is the very first one I ever tried and is from a local shop - Lemon & menthol. I do get "vaper's tongue" though, no matter how hydrated I stay. When that happens, I will typically switch from berry to citrus or vice versa for a few days or I'll vape something pastry or dessert flavored for a couple of days and that will usually take care of it. Other than that, I have never been able to find a single juice that is my "be all, end all". Not even that very first juice I tried. In this case, the only thing I can think of is that, while your taste buds are working again, it's possible you may be confusing the heck out of them with all of the different flavors you're throwing at them.
  14. And here I was thinking that if her "friend" has one, then why not ask her "friend" where to get one.
  15. Hohm Slice by Hohm Tech with a Baby Beast Fuchai 213 with a Cloud Beast Fuchai 213 (different one) with a different Cloud Beast Lost Vape Triade DNA200 with still another Cloud Beast Various Mechs with various RDA's. Yes, those are all currently in my daily rotation. I've had a stressful month at work. Hopefully things will be getting back to normal here in a couple of days.
  16. There is an increasingly large amount valid research to support vaping as a safer alternative to smoking cigarettes and there is a lot of propaganda still being spread based on old and flawed studies. The propaganda is being spread largely by people who are either ignorant to the fact they are citing flawed studies or by people who would rather see smokers continue to smoke traditional cigarettes because of the tax money it generates. Asking on a vape forum whether ecigs are dangerous to your health or not is probably not the best place to get a fair answer to that, though. The vast majority of us, (and by vast majority, I would guess better than 99% of us on this particular forum), started vaping to quit smoking and we will tell you all day long vaping is safer than smoking. We will tell you that because we have seen firsthand how it has helped most of us.
  17. Zero nic makes mixing a LOT easier!! Congrats on hitting that Zero mark!
  18. I'm with @Bebop. Every drop of flavoring is meticulously counted. Milliliters of PG, VG and nic base are painstakingly measured in a tireless effort to achieve the ultimate vape. Except for that whole Zamfir, thing. I prefer something a little more up-tempo. Zeppelin, Sabbath, perhaps some Jethro Tull or perhaps if I'm in a reflective mood, some Joe Satriani or Eric Johnson. Yanni, maybe...but NEVER Zamfir. Oh...and the only thing I use a highball glass for is...well...a highball. Just wait until you start pairing your juices with your favorite adult beverages, @Walt. It will open up even more doors, options and ideas than you ever thought possible.
  19. Check kbeevapes for wire. Free shipping and their larger spools are frequently lower than Lightning. I also use Amazon for a lot of my wire.
  20. lol - honestly, it doesn't mean hot. In fact, I get a cooler vape with my Cloud Beasts with the .15 ohm T8 coils at 125-130w than I do with a handmade 1.8 ohm coil in one of my MTL tanks at 15-20w.
  21. Sub ohm doesn't necessarily mean hot, though. It's all relative: the lower the ohms, the higher the wattage you can go and achieve roughly the same temp. There's much more science to it than just that, but sub ohm should not be confused with "hot".
  22. Yes...yes it is. But that's the way...uh huh, uh huh...I like it...uh huh, uh huh. I'll occasionally build a 1.6 or 1.8 ohm coil for MTL vaping, but I'm usually in deep in the sub ohm area day-to-day.
