  1. Thanks HOOKER. I didn't know they made them for the PT3 mini either. Don't need the same flow as my Subtank mini, as it's more my "nic fix" tank, where the Subtank is becoming my "relaxation" tank.
  2. Just curious if anybody has drilled out the airflow holes on a KPT3 mini to open up the airflow. I love the tank and I'm probaly going to pick up a couple more, but after using and getting used to the airflow on my Subtank mini, the Pro Tank mini feels like I'm trying to suck a frozen milkshake through a coffee stirrer.
  3. Maybe in a couple weeks. Waiting for my tax refund to come in [emoji1]
  4. From one newbie to another, welcome to VT. You came to the right place. There's a lot of great, friendly people here. I just picked up the subtank mini with a Sigelei 100w last week. Loving both. I had an issue with the subtank "spitting", but I think that was operator error because the "spitting" has stopped.
  5. I got started with the Kanger EMOW. It has a 1600 mAh battery and an adjustable airflow tank. The batt is VV (3.2 - 4.8 volts) and is threaded for both 510 and ego tanks. In my opinion, it's is a great setup for a new vaper. I honestly credit it for me being able to go "cold turkey" from the first day I started vaping.
  6. I'll do it Tam. But only if I can get a blue one too.
  7. ^^^Might have to add that to the list of all the other toys in my sights.
  8. I actually went with a Sigelei 100w plus. That's what I meant by I wanted more. My EMOW is great for my commute, but the Sigelei is nice for longer vape sessions and gives me plenty of room to grow. Of course, I have plenty of other "toys" in my crosshairs also.
  9. I get that effect if I drop my airflow without adjusting the wattage on my mod. Still being new to this myself, I also start my day at a low wattage and gradually step up throughout the day. By the time I have a seat in the mancave and crack open a beer after work, I'm blowing clouds big enough to obscure the TV [emoji1]
  10. Welcome to VT. You came to the right place. A lot of good people here and I've learned a lot just in the last few days.
  11. I'm just curious how many people either mix different mix pre-mixed juices or, like me, have decided to switch flavors when a tank is running low. Still being new to the game, I didn't even consider whether I should completely empty a tank or clean it when I decide to switch up my flavor. Case in point - I had a raspberry lemonade juice that I was vaping. It got low and I decided I wanted some blueberry. Both are 50/50 pg/vg with 12mg of nic, but the end result is nowhere near what I expected. What I expected was hints of raspberry, lemon and blueberry. What I'm actually getting is something more along the lines of cinnamon red hot candies. I'm not complaining by any means. Simply curious to find out if others have had similar experiences.
  12. Add me to the list getting liquid in the tip when I use my Subtank mini. In fact, I would go so far as to say my mini is actually "spitting" juice when I take a drag. It even sounds like it's spitting. Not the typical sound one quickly learns to relate to vaping...the sound of the juice being vaporized by the atty...more like sucking the last bit of liquid in a glass through a straw. At first I thought it was technique, but I'm not experiencing it on my Protank 3 mini or my EMOW clearomizer. In fact, I didn't experience it through my first three days of use. Then I swapped the 0.5 ohm OCC out for the 1.2 ohm OCC. Still getting the spitting. The only thing I haven't done is put the RBA base in yet, but I need to do a bit of research before I do that.
  13. I know the comment I'm quoting was an old comment and the info can likely be found elsewhere in the forums, but that precise question is one I had. I figured I'd go ahead and answer it for other newbs like me in my the future who make check this thread. RBA is a ReBuildable Atomizer RDA is a Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer RTA is a Rebuildable Tank Atomizer From what I have gathered, and vets can feel free to correct me, RDA's and RTA's are both RBA's
  14. Add me to the list of those who both smoked menthol and were looking for something that mimiced the taste and sensation. The idea of inhaling something like lemoade, raspberry lemoade, blueberry pie or ice cream sundaes simply didn't appeal to me. The only thing the b&m where I got my first setup had that even has menthol in it was a lemon flavor. But it ended up simply being mind blowing. Since then, I have kept an open mind and tried other flavors. Some good, some not so good. My advice, even as a noob, is to give non-menthol a shot. Every b&m I've been into has been more than happy to let me sit and sample flavors for as long as I wanted. Sure, there are certain flavors I look for when I check out their menus, but I also try to step outside my comfort zone and try somethig that I don't think I'll like. Just food for thought.
  15. For me, smoking was always about more than just getting a "fix". In fact, I actually enjoyed the act and the sensation more than the nic fix. The nicotine was obviously addictive, but in just a couple of short weeks I've dropped from 18mg nic to 12mg nic in my "commuter" setup, and I'm at 6mg in my "kick back with a beer or three in the mancave" setup. I have every intent to get to 0mg, but I'm a gadget geek and I legitimately enjoy the sensation. No, I have no intention of stopping vaping.
  16. 27 years for me....to the day. Started 2 days after my 15th birthday, bought my first setup as a belated birthday gift to myself 2 days after my 42nd birthday.
  17. I'm loving my Sigelei 100w. One and a half days of moderate vaping and still at 49% on the batteries.
  18. Fitst, congrats on a week smoke free. I'm a vape noob myself and those first few days were rough. Second....I learned a TON just by reading this thread. I was (and still am, to an extent) experiencing a lot of the same things. As I was committed to going "cold turkey" when I got my starter set, I started with an 18mg, 50/50 PG/VG juice. The throat hit was killing me...much more than I ever experiened with analogs. And the hits in general were making me cough with almost every draw. Even short ones. Here I am 15 days later. Still no analogs. I have already dropped to 12mg nic that I use in my EMOW, and I'm using 6mg in my new Sigelei. I have also started looking for higher VG juice to cut down on the throat hit. I'm not looking for big clouds, I'm looking for satisfaction. But the bigger clouds are kinda cool...lol. In any event, you aren't alone Lee. But from my personal experience over the last couple of weeks, it does get better. I'm getting more draws that are longer and more satisfying than I was when I started.
  19. Somebody might have to hold me by the hand there....
  20. @Jason - I already plan on backups of backups of backups. Heck...I bought 6 batteries when I bought the Sigelei...lol. @Tam...I totally get the SAFETY FIRST idea. Fortunately, I have a Master's degree in electrical engineering, so I'm kind of familiar with Ohm's Law and I already feel confident with the idea of building my own coils. I still need to do a lot of research on different batteries and some other things, but I'm sure I'll turn into a coil building junkie before long...lol
  21. Thanks everybody for the warm welcome. Much warmer than another forum I joined. @HOOKER...Thanks for the advice about hanging onto the protank mini. I want to try as many as my wallet can afford, but I do like the convenience of the smaller tank. I may find myself with three more protank mini's before long. @TugBoat...I thoroughly enjoy my EMOW for the commute, but I am loving the Sigelei/subtank setup. I like the options of the basic RBA deck as an avenue to start learning or the OCC head for convenience.
  22. I'm admittedly a noob, but I'm quickly finding that some flavors taste better warmer, others taste better cooler, even when the PG/VG ratio is the same. Case in point...I have a blueberry that tastes awesome at a cooler setting with higher airflow, but not so good at a warmer setting no matter what the airflow setting. I have another one...lemon flavored...that simply rocks on a warmer setting no matter what the airflow setting is. Both are 50/50 and 12mg nic. I still have a lot of learning and twerking..er..tweaking to do, but that's part of the fun.
  23. Greetings all, After 27 years of on and off smoking...mostly on, by far, I gave up the analogs 15 days ago in favor of vaping. I tried the convenience store e-cigs a few months ago, (blu), but they simply didn't do the trick. Nasty taste and nowhere near the satisfaction. So I started doing some research and as a birthday gift to myself I took the plunge and went and bought a Kanger EMOW. As far as satisfaction goes, it definitely does the trick for thoae 65 mil. ecommutes I make between home and work, work and home. It also keeps me going and satisfied during the work day. I quickly found myself wanting to try different ejuice flavors, so rather than put just a few drops in the stock clearomizer, I went and got myself a Kanger Protank III mini. I love that as well. So that solved the urge to try more flavors in a quicker fashion, and I'm quickly finding flavors that please my palate and flavors I can just ignore. I also quickly found myself wanting more. I really have no desire to go cloud chasing, but when I drink beer, I quickly found myself wanting more out of my vaping experience, much like with analogs...I smoked more when I drank. I now want to vape more when I drink. Of course, my inquiring mind led me to even more research, more videos on youtube and more questions. Regulated box mods, RDA's, RBA's, sub-ohm, PG vs VG and the advantages/disadvantages of each. It can definitely be overwhelming to a noob. Thankfully there are a ton of great people here and a ton of great videos and reviews on youtube. I have now taken the plunge and purchased a Sigelei 100w and a Kanger Subtank mini. For the record, I'm not sold on Kanger, but I haven't been disappointed so far in my youthful vaping experience. In short...thanks to all the vets here and elsewhere around the web. It definitely makes a seemingly overwhelming world of choices a lot easier to deal with when there is such a vast amount of knowledge at our fingertips.
