I totally agree with the hex screws, and lack of a magnets. Mine came with both hex and phillips screws. I did the 165 watt upgrade and the ohm meter is spot on to .01. (more accurate than my RBA tester) I took it to a buddy who checked it on his fluke, and a much more accurate 4 wire resistance tester used for instrumentation. The battery springs are terrible as they will tear up the covering on the batteries (if you aren't careful). Another problem I found is a nick in the positive wire leading to the battery. Overall I just don't care for it. It is too big for me, and totally un-necessary for the type vaping I am doing. I rarely drip any more, I don't use RTA's any more, and I very seldom go over 15 - 16 watts. It is fun to use though. My nephew came in on leave over the holidays and it was fun to watch him try to hit it maxed out with a .33 ohm dual coil setup on it...lol

If you are looking for cons i have one. I had an IPV 2s for about 2 months, i screwed an atty on it one day and it started to auto fire (with the power off). I don't know it this could be a potential problem with the three, but I for one will never buy another product from pioneer 4 you. I bought a sig 100w plus as a replacement and I am loving it. The magnets for the batt cover are so much easier and the batt life is awesome as well. My current fave setup is the sig with a kanger subtank with the stock .5 ohm replaceable occ running 25 watts with crunch berry juice at 3mg. Simply awesome. I havent tried the atlantis yet but really find no reason to buy one, if this kanger keeps performing the way it does. Hope this helped! Vape on my friend!!

Naolox works great on threads..buttery smooth, helps conductivity and works good as anti seize.. I use it on all my copper mods and Atties and never had them get stuck anymore...lol

Dual parallel 24g coming in at 0.12... Lowest build up to date and I don't dare testing lower. This thing is a freaking beast! Thanks for suggesting it!!!

whats up peoples!!! long time no talk...anyways I purchased the sigelei 100w about 2 months ago and its been great. it is annoying to carry around being as big as it is. Id like to find a case to carry it in on my side. Curious what batts you all are using in your boxes. I chose efest "35 amp" purple batts(I put that in parentheses as im sure they are not 35 amp, and yes iv peeled the covering off of one to see if it was a sony or Panasonic and there was nothing showing it to be either one). I only chose those cause of availability, two of my fav b&m's were all out of sony vtc4 and don't dare try to find vtc5's around here...lol. anyways so far so good, these batts on a full charge last 2 days using my nautilus with a 1.8ohm vertical coil and wattage set to 15watts on my sig. though I change batts when my sig tells me they are at 50% which when I put them on chare my efest luc v4 tells me they were at 3.7 volts. It will charge them to 4.2volts before stopping. thought about using the vamped batts but they were too expensive imo for what seemed to me to be a mediocre batt. I bought one a few months ago and didn't see any real difference between that and a sony vtc4 except that the vamped didn't last as long as it is a lower mah than the sony.
in anycase I can vouch for the durability of the sig, I dropped that bad boy recently out of my pocket onto concrete and it survived, a little dinged but still works like a champ. then again it was only a 3-4 foot drop but still. not saying its the toughest thing out I guess but it will survive small bumps.

According to what i am reading, they don't recommend charging either with inboard charging due to the lack of an internal "intelligent" charger to charge the dual batteries.

I went and bought the IPV3. I did the 165 watt upgrade. I am having a hard time liking it. They both have the YiHi SX330 (if I understand correct). They are both HUGE. I would defiantly hold both if given the option. I don't like the feel in my hand. I am going to get a carbon fiber wrap and see if that helps.

I wish the ipv had magnets. It is a pain opening unscrewing the door. I really have not had to do it much because I have not used it enough to recharge. Mine has a delay that is noticeable between the time I hit the fire button and when the coil heats up. Once it goes it goes fast. I have been running the Billow at 20 watts and it is a great vape.

I am also having a hard time with the Memory settings (i think they both have it) It is a pain to me. I need to look at the instructions and see what I am doing wrong. Every time I go to adjust it, it just scrolls through the presets. When I adjust it manually I change my presets.

All in all it is a good box so far. I am just spoiled to my little iSticks. I love the small size. Since I really only use tanks it works fine.

The only problem now (even though I may not get it until after the holidays) I am itching for a higher wattage, bigger box mod. I know it is just an excuse... It will run fine on my MPV, my mechanicals, or possibly even my tiny iStick, although it will look funny....

Severas things for your to try: is Your switch Spring loaded?, and if so, what type of material is the switch. I had the same problem with a no name mod that had a cheap metal spring. and changed the spring from another one I had laying around made out of brass and solved the problem. Like if the coil of the spring was causing it to heat up. Try removing the spring and fire if you can without the spring to isolate the issue. If it doesn't heat up, then your spring is the issue. You may be able to convert it to repelling magnet switch depending on the design of your switch.

If it's not spring loaded, try cleaning the contacts with a Q-Tip and A tad of polishing compound. Then clean with alcohol.
If your contact are porous that might be the problem.

If you have a dremel you can try to rectify it.

Clean with alcohol to ensure you don't leave particles sitting on the contact.
Let us know if that helped.

christov11 got a reaction from jasonculp in in your opinion, best build?
ive found it tough until i really took my time with each wrap. its a killer build and it will be my go-to with 24g.

Im on a rediculous 22g build 5 wraps around 2mm. it chucks like theres no tomorrow. more than the parallel 24g but its also lower in resistance so you might not feel safe with it. went from 0.2 to 0.16.

Even myself at first wasnt sure if i really wanted to do it. After some research on the batteries i was using and seeing so many people going that low with same-ish set ups. just made sure there was no shorts and the coils were beauties and then hit it.

In no way should someone feel the need to go that low especially if they dont feel ready safety wise. but given that you and I have been following a similar path as long as you triple check any safety concerns, you should be okay.

All this to say that with parallel builds the key to it is patience and taking the wraps slowly to make sure they are pretty :P

When i first went to my local brick and mortar store and asked about a mech mod. The first thing they asked was "am i going to try sub ohm? " I said i was thinking about it. Man let me tell ya, The safety safety safety safety came out. They talked to me about it for like almost 1/2 hour. Glad they did. I do go down to a 0.5 ohm and no less. But i agree care and caution must be taken. I am no expert but i think 0.5 is low enough. I am using a Nemisis clone with a Efest high drain 35 amp battery with a Zenith clone rda. With a dual coil ( 2x 1.0 Ohms ). I have been using this for a couple weeks now so any hints welcome.

I vote for this thread to get shut down before somone takes something personal.

Would rather not see anything more than to have a chance of things escalating. especially since its all being typed and not actually said where you can hear the tone of voice or whatnot.

I can't tell you exactly what it is. But from what I've read across a few communities, it's usually the contact that's the culprit. Any contact that is not 100% flat will create arcing. My guess is that your contact is not completely flat and it's causing some arcing. Judging by the photos, it's pretty far from it. Or it could be the negative on the battery that isn't flat.

Mine was actually a brass button with threads. It has a brass nut on top (to make contact with the battery) that allows for adjustment. It is a poor design. I had to use a file and small brass washers to make it work. I spent hours getting it all to fit correctly.

I then purchased the 4nine clone (with a magnetic button), and it worked right out of the box. So I put the GP Paps (cheap clone) to the side.

Now all I have to adjust is the bottom pin of my 454 Big Block clone to shorten the throw, and it makes good contact. If i get any heat, it is from chain vaping, when this occurs, my head is spinning and I have to put it down.

I wish I could help more, but you have been doing exactly as long as I have, and you probably have more experience!

Hot button means resistance, so something isn't making great contact. I am sure you know that.

I did have one that the surface of the brass contact pin was not flat, so it was only contacting in a very small spot. It caused quite a bit of heat.

I also read this. I am not sure about it, but it seems like "resistance wire" would not be the best thing to eliminate resistance. It seems like something would work better than kanthal. Someone might have a little better insight than I do.
