  1. I am one of those people who was so addicted to cigarettes and cigars that eventually I would have died with an oxygen mask in one hand and a cigarette or cigar in the other. Smoked for decades, eventually developed emphysema, trouble breathing and associated issues. Within months of quitting, no more medications, breathing is now normal, no other issues and my pulmonary doctor can't believe it. My energy and stamina have returned to normal levels and I can now do anything I could do decades ago. I recently had a complete pulmonary workup and testing that took several hours, and the technician performing the tests was amazed that my breathing, oxygen levels and other functions are completely normal and appropriate for my age. I still have the lung damage, however the rest of my lungs are working so efficiently, that my functioning is completely normal. My pulmonary doctor now says "See you in a year." All of this is from switching from analogs to vaping. Congratulations on making such an important change; it is a life defining decision!
  2. Welcome and congratulations on quitting smoking. You won't believe what a difference it will make in the way you feel in as little as two weeks and continuing to improve over the next few months. Everything gets better, taste, smell, energy, breathing and a bunch of other great benefits. Plus you now won't smell like an ashtray, won't burn your clothes, car seats, won't have bad teeth, bad breath and a bunch of other benefits. I have a friend who vapes so much cinnamon juice, that he basically reeks of it, and women flock to him like a magnet. Another benefit and it works equally well for men and women. Anyway congrats for making such an important decision in your life. It is a defining moment you'll never forget!!
  3. Instead of washing in hot water and waiting for 24 hours, I use 91% isopropyl alcohol from WalMart. I simply drop the atty, cartridge, clearomizer or whatever into a jar filled with the alcohol, swish it around a few times, drain it and it dries in minutes, instead of taking all night waiting for the water to evaporate. If the wick is really caked up and won't wick up because of the sticky residue, I'll leave the atty in the alcohol all night, take it out the next morning, and it looks and works like new. The alcohol dissolves the residue inside the tank much quicker, dissolves the sticky residue on the wick much better, cleans the coil better and is odorless after it completely evaporates. For my dripping atty, I simply squirt in some alcohol, swish it around a little, drain it, let it dry for a few minutes and I am good to go for another flavor or e-liquid without waiting. I rarely can ever taste the previous juice. About the only flavor I have trouble with is menthol and cinnamon which take a little more cleaning to remove the aroma of the flavor.
  4. Congrats on quitting tobacco & welcome to the forum. You'll find that the first couple of months, you'll go wild buying all kinds of stuff and e-liquids. It'll taper off and you'll eventually have what you need and only buy a few products now and then. With the e-liquids, once you get into making your own for pennies, it's tough to fork over 5 to 8 bucks for 10 ml. There are some great juice extracts, that for five bucks, will make 200 ml of e-liquid. Additionally you'll find some home mix that you can make for pennies with ordinary home extracts, like cinnamon vanilla, maple etc. Vegetable glycerin & propylene glycol are dirt cheap and 4 bucks each worth will make enough juice for a year. Have fun, and enjoy vaping twice as much as you smoked with zero health consequences!!!
  5. I have noticed that the mint and menthol liquids do affect my clearomizers. in my CE-4's they cloud up the plastic within a couple of days. I also had one come apart at the top very similar to what happed to yours, except mine was a clean break at the top chrome ring.
  6. The more I hear about what people do, the more I like dogs.
  7. The e-liquids are extremely potent and just having a small amount on your fingers, lips or nasal openings can remain pungent for days. I mix a lot of my own liquids, and sometimes can still smell the aroma on my hands after multiple hand washings. RY-4 was probably not the best liquid to try first. When I first tasted it, I hated it, and thought it tasted like cologne mixed with used motor oil. I now actually enjoy the flavor, go figure. If the atty they used had a burnt wick, the taste is terrible, and again can linger in your nostrils for days. Similar to firefighters who say they can still smell the fire days later. Although none of the e-liquids taste exactly like tobacco, some come very close and are very enjoyable for those who enjoy the tobacco flavor. My suggestion is to try a variety of different ones until you find one you like. When I first started tasting the different tobacco flavors, some were so bad it was enough to make you gag. Ultimately I found some that were actually quite nice and tasted very close to real tobacco. it's a shame your first experience was not pleasant, but don't give up. You'll find it very enjoyable and if you're like most, you won't even think about quitting tobacco, It will just happen.
  8. That is great news!!! I am similar, smoked for decades, cig's and cigars both. Got my first e-cig kit and never touched tobacco again. Now I have lots of vape equipment, and in addition to saving my life, it's become a fun hobby!
  9. A simple way to drip is to take a standard cartomizer (with the exception of Boge, which had a vertical coil). Remove the cap, carefully remove the cotton wadding, and center tube by gently pulling on it, and you now have a nice drip atty. Typically takes about 6 or 7 drops which gives around 20 puffs. Too much liquid and it will leak from the bottom. Most of the cartomizers have a covering that is easily removed revealing a nice stainless steel tube. Remove the covering, and glue (hassle) and put on a drip tip or the one that came with the cartomizer and you have a nice atty for dripping. If I accidently burn the cartomizer by running it dry, I do this and convert it for dripping, giving me a double use.
  10. That's good to know. I am anxious to try their liquids. I've heard from several others that their flavors are very good

  14. Does anyone have any experience with Azure vaping e-liquids? I found them on the web today and ordered some liquid. Prices are fantastic $8.00 for 30 ml, and $16.00 for 120 ml. they also carry tobacco absolute for four bucks. Their prices on the limited equipment they stock is a little high, so it looks like they specialize in liquid. A family business here in the US. I'll report back with my opinion after it arrives and I try it.
  15. Ryan, Congrats on your decision to quit tobacco. You're gonna be amazed at how much better you feel, and all the other benefits, taste, smell, money etc. After slowly poisoning yourself with tobacco smoke, you are now going to enjoy smoking vapor with virtually no health consequences. shortly, you'll never even consider going back to tobacco. There are lots of people here with lots of experience who have all experienced everything you are going through and I can assure you were are thrilled for you and willing to help in any way possible. Read everything you can about equipment and I am sure you'll find just the right PV (personal vaporizer) for your needs. Best of luck to you, and again, congratulations on a wise decision.
