  1. All I know is there are some folks over @ ECF that like it. Others replace the top with Evod's (? I think) or tape up some of the air vents. I just rather not bother having to hack my tank. At around $15, that tank BETTER give a good hit IMHO. There are a few clones on the market now though that I'm curious about that are worth testing out for their reduced prices. Maybe someone thought to change the vents. Right now though, I'm pretty happy with my Odyssey tank. It was over 2x the price of the Pro but worth every penny. I just hope the glass viewing windows never break, hahaha. And I'm so not bashing the Kanger Pro. But when someone asks about it because they're considering a purchase, they should know all the facts, not just the hype. That comment seemed strangely reminescent of the Provari threads... "I can't really tell you why it's so great except I like it, if you haven't tried it you have no valid input in this discussion, just try/buy it and then you'll know how great it is and agree with me." Even if someone here hasn't tried a particular product, when it's a popular one like the Kanger Pro, they have certainly read enough about it to have some valid input as an objective observer. When I was trying to figure out whether to buy a Provari or not, I actually had to start a semi-troll thread just to find out some actual facts about it... line up some similar products, then ask what made the Provari so unique, then deal with getting flamed over and over again while saying "sorry, you didn't give a valid answer there... I want real logic here." It was quite annoying. It's so hard to find out anything factual about products now days... the users are rabid fans that are out to destroy any criticism, the sales people know nothing but hype, the reviewers are often afraid to say anything bad about a product lest they get sued for slander... I almost have to chew off one of my own limbs to get a solid picture sometimes. :-/ ALL good products have faults of some kind to go along with their great features. It's a matter of what you're willing to trade off for what... what you're willing to hack... etc. Buuuut... back to the Vivi/T2 discussions... that was what the OP asked about, not the Pro. Another issue has came to mind that I have with the Vivi Nova. The heads don't always align right with the top while screwing it on, which leads to leaks. Sometimes you have to use a screwdriver or needle nose to keep the head straight while screwing on the top. That's annoying. I've narrowed it down to somehow being related to the tube you're using... my STVs ALL do this ALL the time, while it's a rare occurance with my aluminum or plastic Vivi tubes. You also have to make sure you screw the heads on MEGA tight, otherwise they have a tendency to start coming unscrewed while unscrewing the cap, which also causes leaks. And also make sure when you're taking it off your battery tube that you aren't in fact unscrewing the Vivi's tube from the base. That can be a real messy situation right there, LOL.
  2. Yeah, it's attitude alright. Some people just can't allow other folks to have preferences different from them. I can't speak for everyone, but I can speak for myself: there are two major things that have kept me from giving the Protank a try. Number one and the most important: everyone that owns one reports that it puts a lot of air in to your hits. Now some people may like this, but I myself am not at all fond of any more than the bare minimum of air when I take a vape. Number two is that I can't seem to find any replacement coils for it that are less than 2.4ohm! Considering I use an Evic which only goes up to 5v, that's a pretty big deal, because it means to get the maximum vape out of it I'm going to have to use no more than a 2.0ohm coil. And as for my comment about most tanks not being that flavorful, I've already figured out it's a build materials issue with them... which is why when I want a lot of flavor I switch to a stainless steel tank. I'm sure glass may also help the flavor issue, but I really don't want to tote an extremely breakable tank around for regular daily use, especially when I have a 5 yo son. Any plastic or metal otherwise is going to leech some flavor and/or mix in some subtle taste of the material being used - that includes Pyrex.
  3. Banana... so you get a peanut butter banana sandwich flavor.
  4. Just note there are aluminum tubes available as well, which are what I mostly use since I vape a lot of acidic flavors. The Vivis are very easy to maintain/refill/care for, break down well, and give a good strong vape with a balanced TH (not too much, not too little, and there's some adjustability through unraveling, fluffing, or leaving the wicks as is). The heads last a looooooong time too. My only complaint is they don't seem to give you as much flavor as carts do, but that's pretty true of any tank system I've tried.
  5. The 5v limit is due to several things. First of all, more than 6v would require a bigger battery for decent battery life... and the Evic is meant to be one of the smaller APVs. Second of all, 1v of that is dedicated to operating the computer side of the device, which is a lot more sophisticated than other APVs and as such it requires more power. BTW, the max wattage is 15, not 10. How high the wattage will go depends on the resistance of the atty you're using. Lower resistance results in higher wattage abilities, but the max voltage remains the same. So, if you want a juicier vape from the Evic, get a lower resistance atty. I've had my Evic for about 3w now and I really love it, especially the vape. I heard so much from the Provari fans dissing the internal hardware for being China made and "like everything else" that I was a little concerned I wouldn't get a better vape from it than I have other APVs. But they're dead wrong on that one. The vape is very smooth and consistent, and quite powerful even with a 3.1ohm atty despite the 5v limit. I don't even feel like I need the extra voltage available on other APVs with the Evic. And every vape is the same... it quits vaping once the battery power gets inconsistent from being low every time. But then again, I use 50/50 ratio juice... so I don't have the need to crank up the voltage to get more vapor like you have to do with heavier PG ratio juices. The body is very sexy, sleek, and lightweight. I'm quite proud to show it off. And since it IS a more fragile design, I take MUCH better care of it than I have other APVs, which just lends to its attractiveness since it doesn't get scratched up like my black chrome Vape-Pro did for example. And the light weight design makes it very easy to carry in my Zmax lanyard, while the heavy Vape-Pro just about broke my neck, hahaha. It's also been my first "set it and forget" style device. I never have to change the voltage, it seems to have the perfect sweet spot going for it.
  6. Make sure you're getting high quality CE4s from reputable brands and not the cheap no name knock offs.
  7. Try raising the VG ratio on the complex flavors you like. This will help mute the flavor if standard is still too strong for you since VG doesn't carry flavor as well as PG does. You may also like complicated tea flavors, such as Mt. Baker Vapor's "Dream Tea".
  8. Personally I think the atty/tank combos like what you find on cigalikes are probably the easiest refilling method I've ever used. Just fill the plain plastic cap and snap it on the atty - EASY. Ex.: http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/products/tornado-and-titan-tank/titan-tank/titan-accessories/510-titan-tank-atomizer-2-2-product.html http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/products/tornado-and-titan-tank/titan-tank/titan-accessories/510-titan-tank-empty-cartridges-clear-2-product.html
  9. Heya, I am so sorry to hear about your loss! I knew sooner or later the thieves would start stealing people's vape gear once it occurred to the criminals how much money really goes in to mods/APV purchases. I want to thank you though for this head's up... it definitely has got me thinking I need to take more care with my gear. I know I've lost my APV before and even had one shipped to the wrong address in a bad neighborhood and felt safe in the assumption even if someone ended up with them they wouldn't know what they were, how to operate/maintain them (like charging the rechargeable batteries), or what to do with them. This shows me those days are about to be long past, if they aren't already. I have a few suggestions for you: - Get a couple of cheap 510 e-cig batteries... you know, the cigalike kind. I know the vape isn't as good as a mod/APV, but at least you'll have something to get you through this. - Try purchasing from a site like fasttech.com. The lowest prices, and priority shipping is only a few bucks. - In the mean time, instead of getting a pack of smokes and risking getting in to that habit again (especially with how expensive it is in comparison to vaping), get disposable e-cigs. Wow I really wish I still had some spare devices and parts to send you, but I just gave away my last homemade kit. However, if you want I can check with someone I gave a Titan Tank kit to and see if they are still using it (I don't think they are). If not, I can send it to you, because I just want to know my old devices are being put to good use. And in the future, remember it's always better to buy two cheaper devices than it is to buy one expensive device. One for regular use, and the second as a spare/backup. You'd be in a similar boat right now if that device needed warranty service.
  10. Egos are great for beginners... I definitely second that recommendation! Another device I would recommend is the Totally Wicked Tornado, or the Titan Tank if you are fond of the ecigs that look just like real cigarettes. I also highly recommend Totally Wicked as a vendor to those that are just getting started with vaping. Their customer service will pretty much go to the ends of the earth to make sure you're able to get exactly what you need and get it working. I bought my first APV from them and it came with old school drip atomizers. I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to get them working. They ended up sending me a clearomizer and adapter for it free of charge just to make sure I was able to use my device. Their tech support is top notch as well, and warranties are fulfilled in house so you don't have to wait a long time for shipping to a Chinese manufacturer. Any of the above options can be done for significantly less than $100. Please don't go the Blu route. IMHO Blu is a total rip off. Their juices don't have any throat hit and taste awful, and the prices are seriously jacked up.
  11. Any delivery system will be fine with a water only rinse... in fact, this is the only method I know of for cleaning any delivery system. You don't want to really use solutions as they can make differences in flavor AND you don't really want that stuff in your lungs anyways. When I clean my Vivi Nova though, I usually squeeze dry the parts in a towel, especially the wick... sometimes the flavor can be a little weak with the first few vapes if the wick has water in it. Just make sure if you do this it's a towel with no lint or shedding so you don't get fibers all over your parts. If you change flavors very frequently though you're right about the switching out CE4s thing. I mostly change flavors using my Vivi Nova, but that's because I vape the same flavor throughout most of the day. If you change flavors more frequently than this, it would be a lot less hassle for you to just keep different flavors in different disposable cartos/clearos and switch them around.
  12. Just not Wine... you'll need a virtual machine to do the job (I'm using VirtualBox but I'm sure it'll work in VMWare and others too).
  13. Easy method for telling the max voltage on your attys: ohm+ohm=max volts It isn't exact, but it gives you a good idea of what you have to work with without having to square things in your head.
  14. I've noticed my complexion is a lot rosier/healthier looking since I quit smoking. I feel a lot more confident without makeup now. Pic comparison (sorry for the lighting in the most recent one, I don't do sans makeup very often so it's the only recent one I have with none): This was about 2 years ago. I vaped, but my go to was still analogues: https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=CBEBBCF0A3A5EEA3!2753&authkey=!ADgJxmB9V3ynP84 This one was earlier this year. I've been smoke free for a little over a year to date: https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=CBEBBCF0A3A5EEA3!1265&authkey=!AI2TG0qg1ytsoQg I dunno, I don't see much of a difference, but maybe there's something I'm missing someone else can shed light on. Sorry the links won't post right. The forum doesn't accept Skydrive for pictures.
  15. Ugh, just noticed the heads... not very friendly in regards to stopping leaks. I wonder if you can use the standard Vision heads in them though?
  16. http://www.madvapes.com/pyrex-3-5ml-vivi-nova-tank.html I think it's awesome... wish I could just get the tube and not the whole device, though. Has anyone tried these out yet?
  17. Good deal. I read your other post, and it sounds like you're on the right track... keep up the good work!
  18. I'm just going to ignore the rude remarks in this thread... they're way nastier than anything I have said myself, and as I mentioned previously, I had no intention of this becoming a big blown out drama, which is why I abandoned the thread as soon as I saw it was getting out of hand. I just came here to give a little update. Jennifer (one of the business owners) and I have been talking through email, and it seems I got the wrong impression of this vendor. They have removed the deceptive advertising statement from their site, and we've been discussing ideas for improvements. So it all worked out in the end.
  19. Ditto. I mostly use my Vivi Nova, but I keep a package of Boge cartos on hand at all times as well. Their strong flavor and vapor production is just phenomenal. It's just a shame that I'm so paranoid about breaking my Odyssey tank, because if I wasn't I would be using Boges all the time... forget the Vivi Nova, LOL.
  20. I got lost in all the person As, Bs, Cs, etc.... My two cents: for some odd reason, perhaps control (stupid people are easier to manipulate), our county seems to value idiots so much that it is interested in protecting them to the point of dictating what everyone, including the educated/intelligent, can put in to/do with their bodies... regardless of whether or not doing so affects the rest of the populace... If you're over 18, anything goes. You should have the educational background and matured intelligence by then to determine what you want to do with your body and your life without anyone else's input, including the government's. Everyone makes mistakes, but most will rectify those mistakes if the issue at hand matters enough to them to do so. If they don't have these qualities, they normally live very short and unproductive lives, thereby taking care of "the problem" themselves. It is the nature of the universe for individual living organisms incapable of survival to die out, thus removing their genes from the gene pool completely over time... thus resulting in living organisms that are better and better equipped for survival as time passes. Science has shown that as the years progress, the population overall is becoming more stupid instead of smarter... less capable of survival on their own instead of more capable.... Case in point: - A cup of coffee that has printed on the label "CAUTION: contents are hot" along with all the other blatantly obvious warnings on products in our country - The lack of existence of brilliant minds the whole world recognizes like Einstein, B. Franklin, etc. in recent years - The lack of U.S. presidents that are greatly admired... when was the last president you could say genuinely deserved his position and won by popular vote because he really was popular and not simply because the most money was spent on his campaign? We even had a U.S. president that didn't even run for that office that got elected just because he really was that popular. It was our 11th president, James K. Polk, which is hardly ever mentioned but was one of our most influential presidents to date. - The overall disintegration of the public education system... evident in how employers now value a college education just about as much as a high school one, with emphasis being placed on things like certifications and work experience instead. - Over 70% of the population when surveyed were more interested in the next episode of Dancing with the Stars and the release of the Xbox One than they were in the HUGE NSA scandal in which a leak uncovered that our government has been massively wire tapping us and collecting everything the U.S. population shares over the internet and phone... even private emails. I'm sincerely concerned about the future of humanity as a species, and frightened by the downward spiral we seem to have been traveling. The opposition to vaping is merely a symptom of this massive problem.
  21. Hi Mark! Now I know where you are at in your journey, LOL. I was a little confused by the "addicted to nic" post you initially made. It's great to hear that you've been able to use vaping to cut down on your dip habit. I've been curious about how effective vaping is for dippers, since they use a different delivery system than smokers. Nice to see this works for other tobacco product users too! Yeah, you can dump a lot of money in to this hobby QUICK. But at least with this, you're getting your money's worth. Not *just* an enjoyable habit, but an entire hobby and community to boot. And out of everything you spend, I bet you have spent the least amount on juice... i.e. the biggest investment goes in to actual devices and such that don't just disappear in a cloud of vapor (or smoke, or spit hehehe). I'm an ECF member too that came here due to the more relaxed atmosphere. I know of at least a few other members here that came from ECF. So you're in good company.
  22. Hmmm... small inaccuracy in this poll I would like to see differentiated personally. How many people that are quitting nic are going to keep on vaping? Personally, I am in it to quit nic all together, but since being exposed to the community and hobby, never plan on quitting vaping itself... just want to use 0mg juice at the end.
  23. Personally, I'm done with this. It's turned in to one big blow out that just started by me asking in depth questions and doing research. That last email confirms that they are profoundly aware that their ideas are not unique to themselves... so they pretty much just made it clear that their claim to uniqueness is false anyways. But instead of rectifying this situation, they're now wanting to get me on the phone. Not very likely to happen. There's nothing that can be said on the phone that can provide more proof than what can be said in an email... although a phone conversation can't be posted here, making anything said about it afterwards nothing more than heresy. Thus the skepticism when someone starts going "let's talk on the phone/in person instead of through email". I'm keenly aware of this because of a nasty divorce I'm going through in which my spouse and ex-inlaws try to ensure any lines they cross are done in person or by phone so they can avoid me having any record of their actions. I didn't mean for this to turn in to any kind of drama. I just wanted answers, that's all, and I'm a skeptical person that likes to have proof what is being said is true instead of just trusting whoever is saying it. Blind trust has led me in to some very sticky situations in the recent past... such as blindly believing that child support check was in the mail just because my ex said it was, even though the CS office said they never received any payment. Sorry for the trouble. I just have never been the type to hold information to myself, especially when it comes to unanswered questions... I always hope maybe someone will find what is shared and be able to expand on it and close the case. Thus is one of the purposes of communication in forums such as these.
  24. To: support@vapedudes.com Subject: Re: Vape Dudes: Update Tracking #6831 References: <3d953df4$167abf3a$81f970e$@com> In-Reply-To: <3d953df4$167abf3a$81f970e$@com> X-Enigmail-Version: 1.4.6 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I'm not trying to "gain" anything. I made my intentions clear on the thread that brought my attention to your company. I just don't like seeing vendors copy other vendor's signature flavors. It's bad business and makes the already confusing vaping industry even MORE confusing. And honestly, if it wasn't for that claim on your site that yours were unique and not found anywhere else on the internet, I would have let it go... just another one in a billion vendors profiteering from other vendor's ideas. But that claim on your website is false. I already pointed that out by linking you to MBV's Ice line. If you just took that one claim down, we would be cool. But instead you seem more concerned with making me shut up than you do with the truth in your website's statements. 25. And BTW, I am not claiming you're not good to your customers or anything like that. I'm just trying to figure out how signature flavors I've only seen on MBV before are all of a sudden seen on your website, some complete with their original names (the Ice line), and am getting further puzzled by the lack of evidence in your extended claims in the email you sent.
