DragonGunner got a reaction from Vapor Guy in Let's Talk Temp Control
Ni200 vertical coil in a subtank mini verdict after 2 days and 4 tanks gone and a wick change compared to the same ohm horizontal coil............ HOMERUN! Very little to no spit back like a horizontal coil. Flavor imo 50% better and the vapor production is out of this world. Gonna stick with the vertical coil for a while.

Don't worry brother. Just put it down for the day. That's why we have prepared built coils. I have many days like that myself. I just got lucky and had a good one myself. Next time I'm sure I won't be so lucky.
Oh and I misquoted on my new coil. Its .13ohms not 1.3 ohms. Sorry.

Hi all. I lied. I found myself bored and decided to rip out the 1.1 ohm coil i just made and start with a new vertical coil (practice makes perfect right), plus I wanted to up the ohms a tad. Again 29ga. This time an eight wrap on a 3mm bit for 1.3 ohms. Here's a couple of pics of the build. Enjoy and attempt at your own frustration....just joking. Have fun with it. It's not that hard.
Note: Sorry for the order of the pics. I tried editing to get it right and then it gave me a double pic post and I almost screwed it up even more. The system is wonky.

Made my first ni200 vertical coil for my subtank mini. 7 spaced wraps with 29ga ni200 on a 3mm coil jig bit came out to .11 ohms. Wicking it was obviously a tad more tricky and I can improve but this is a pretty good build for my first attempt. Happy vaping days ahead. I had really steady hands and a good eye today. Wish all days were like this.

I made a great kanthal on my Zephyrus yesterday and vaped it for a few hours (only takes a couple hours to drain that bad boy) and found myself missing my Subtank mini with ni200 and TC. I don't think my Zephyrus will get much action anymore, as I'm really loving my TC. I should have my new Subtank mini v2 next week and look forward to trying it out.

Yeah Bebop. I also notice that the difference between the Kanthal vs the ni200 builds. I also feel that the kanthal tastes better, however I'm not sure if its just because that's all I've ever vaped before. Just doesn't feel like it hits as hard as the kanthal. More experiments will be coming up with pics of ni200 builds.
You are gonna have so much fun with the Zephyrus tank. I can't wait to hear your opinion.

I am trying one of those right now, in my SubTank mini. I took some 32ga Kanthal and some 30ga Ni200 and twisted them. I put about 5 or 6 wraps on 3mm and it ohmed out at .12. It is working pretty good.

In my experimenting I actually found that if I make a tight contact coil with the coil master, then take a small mini screwdriver (not phillips) and place it between the coils and gently twist the screwdriver making a tiny gap. I do this to both the top and bottom of the coil until I get nearly perfect spaced coils while the build stays nice and tight (small length wise). If I just make it spaced from the beginning then gaps between the coils tend to be too far apart. Just my funky way of keeping tight spaced coils to fit in some of these tiny decks.

I must be a noob as well. I never heard of it before. For me its about a dozen hits on a new coil for it to get broke in properly. I normally taste cotton until its broke in properly.

I think the Billow 2 has a longer chimney neck. Reviews of RTA's have shown that the shorter the chimney neck the better the flavor (of course taste is always subjective).

DragonGunner got a reaction from Tam in Are rebuilds going to be dead?
Rebuilds will always remain in hot demand.....at least for me

DragonGunner got a reaction from jasonculp in Bump Everytime You Buy Something New
Its gotta be larger and perhaps a tad bit easier to build on as it has two 3mm airholes on each side of the deck as opposed to just one on the Goblin, making it at least 3mm wider in diameter. I agree with you in wishing this was a single coil setup. Did you see those juice channels? Holy mother of all juice channels. Talk about using every mm on the deck.

I got my Stillare RDA out the other day and built a dual setup.I forgot about how much flavor this thing gives off,not huge clouds but that is ok with me.Thats what my Darkhorse is for.

Oddly enough, the other day I pulled out my old octopus RDA and fashioned a coil myself and enjoyed a 15min dripping session which I hadn't done in a long time. It was good.

2 days ago I found my hobo atty in a box in my closet. As you said, now being more experienced building I threw a serious flavor build in there. The combination of these coils and this tiny atty.. the vape is amazing! No massive clouds but the strawberry creme vape from the CFJ warning shot juice is so amazing. Loving this set up!! Vape on!

Just ordered a Kanger subtank mini, 8 Samsung INR 18650-25r's (for my Flaskman vapor flask), one pack of subtank mini nickel occ coils, and tempered ni200 (29ga, 28ga, 26ga) from the UK (couldn't find tempered, anywhere in the US at the time).

I think I may pull out my Magma RDA sometime soon. I haven't touched that thing since I decided that I'm an RTA guy almost a year ago, but I do remember that the Magma had awesome flavor.

DragonGunner got a reaction from vaping_jake in Visited an old friend
I had lots of time today and was tidying up some of my vape supplies and ran across an old friend. His name is Russian 91%. I dusted him off, washed him thoroughly and threw in a 26ga 8 warp .8ohm coil, added some raspberry and cream ejuice and I'm in vaping nirvana. Wow! This brings back so much memories. Of course over the past year my building has gotten much better as well as my wicking which leads to such a great and satisfying vape. No huge clouds here just full on flavor.
When has been the last time you have dusted off your shelf, found a trusty old friend and had a satisfying vape reminiscing the days past? If you haven't you might be in for a pleasant surprise.
Have a great Friday everyone.
