  1. Thanks Bushwick. I'm finding that the double barrel build at .8 is a pretty good sweet spot for my Russian.
  2. Another double barrel build in my Russian. I made a mistake and it ohm'd out at .5 so I got rid of it immediately, but it was a much cleaner build. I must admit though this one produced a ton of vapor.
  3. Hahaha....don't worry. I have to use my phone camera after I wrap each coil to take a pic and zoom it in just to make sure that both coils have the same number of wraps. Damn old eyes...I can shoot a fly's turd at 15 meters but seeing a coil up close makes my eyes to go crossed.
  4. Have any of you guys/gals seen this or have one yet? Now this looks really cool, a tad on the expensive side, but I love my rebuildable tanks. Now if they ever come in stock again I may have to pick one up. http://www.vapordna.com/Orchid-Kayfun-Styled-Atomizer-by-Aethertech-p/or0001.htm *I'm thinking hard about the squape reloaded (stock issues), fogger v4, and the Taifun GT.
  5. Agreed^^ I do the same. I also make sure that the screws are down nice and tight. I found that a loose one sometimes creates an uneven burn.
  6. I change my wicking every 2-3 days if its the same flavor. Every flavor change gets a new wick. I tend to keep well built coils for up to 2-3 weeks at a time. I wash my coils every time I change wicks. Wash with warm water, dry burn and then wash coil again when its red hot with cold water. For coils I'm not too hot about I change every couple of days.
  7. Thanks. Things are very dicey over here and we are constantly doing very dangerous high risk road missions. I've got another 10 days before I leave for home (nearly 5 months this go around).
  8. It probably took me about 30 min from start to finish. I have since done another and I found that using the side hole on the Russian deck for one side of the legs is a bit easier. In fact a few other builds I used that hole as well and it works out greatly. When installing each microcoil its important to keep the coils pinned against the screws and once both coils are in then sort of unravel the coil just enough to keep it off of the screws, and of course raising the coils off the deck. It takes a lot of playing with. Good luck. You will get it eventually. I do find that it is my favorite build thus far creating a nice warm vape with plumes of vapor. On that note one thing that bothers me with my magma is the fact when I'm installing coils that have only 8/7 wrap. The post holes are so wide apart that if forces my coils apart. So I am learning to tweak the coil legs to adjust for this (this is not really a factor when I use 24ga kanthal as I have to use many more wraps.
  9. I also think that the kayfun is known for its flavor due to its tank design. As a dripper (without trying it out), I think at best it would be equivalent to a lower cost/performance rda, but with that being said it all really depends on how you build and wick your rda's. The cost does seem a tad on the expensive side imo for the conversion kit.
  10. Here is my first attempt at the double barrel build on a Russian 91%/kayfun hybrid (parts from both) using 26ga kanthal and a 1/16 drill bit. I forget what it ohm'd at but it was under 1ohm. It was a tight fit but as you can see it did fit. For me this was a very difficult build as the space was cramped using 26ga kanthal. I'll try again to make it more clean in the future and probably use 28ga kanthal.
  11. My first attempt at a vertical coil build on my Russian 91% using 26ga kanthal. It came out to .7ohms. The build is easy enough but I'm still experimenting with the wicking.
  12. I think I am about ready to drop my nic level to zero. I have been reading that 0 nic in ejuice provides the truest flavor, however that flavor might seem off a bit because we have become accustomed to nic and that nic itself has its own distinct flavor. I will buy some sample flavors of my favorite ejuice and test this out but I would like to know what anyone else's experience is with vaping zero nic ejuice. I may have to up my VG to compensate for the throat hit right?
  13. Just got my magma really up and running (dual 26ga .4ohm) and I am tasting flavors I never thought that I would. I get so much more flavor from this dripper in comparison to my beloved russian 91% (by a large margin and I swear by my 91%). I may have to pick up a clone from Infinite and compare it to my authentic one.
  14. This doesn't make any sense to me. I own a 2 Russians, Kayfun Lite black edition, Kayfun lite from from Tobeco, and an Aqua clone and use them all regularly and haven't ever experienced what you have described. That being said I prefer my Russian & Kayfun lites over my Aqua. Sorry I can't help out more. I do know that when I tried a very tasty cinnamon red hot flavor for about a week afterwards I couldn't taste any of my other juices. This may even happen if you smoke a very intense menthol flavor as well. Now I stay away from very spicy or very strong menthol flavors.
  15. I feel the same about hiding things from my son Earthling. I try to protect him as much as possible but without hiding anything from him. I want to expose him to the dangers in life but in ways that are safe or in a safe learning environment. Keeping things hidden from children just toys with their curiosity (children are curious by nature) and puts fuel on the flames so to speak, leaving more chance for them to try something when you are not around. That being said I vape around my son but make sure to blow the vapor in a direction away from him. The comments above are my opinion only (and sometimes vary from my wife). I respect others opinions to feel otherwise though.
  16. So I finally met up with my wife and son in Europe and received all my new toys. Rather than messing with my new RDA I kept things simple. I just put my 91% on top of my new copper Viggo and what a world of difference between this and my V3 Tronix flip (ready to sell that bad boy when I get back to the states). Anyways we go to a coffee shop and they have an outdoor area that they still service but you are allowed to smoke (wife and mother in law both smoke). The place was crowded. So I fire up my 91% (rocking a .5 ohm parallel coil) and was in vape nirvana when I got an evil kick from my wife under the table. I was promptly warned that the vapor from my setup was producing way too large clouds and people were glaring at me. Damn was I annoyed and irritated as hell, stating the obvious that we were outdoors in a smoking area but I calmed down a bit (not wanting to fight about it) and from there on out only took 1-2 second hits and kept the vapor in my lungs longer than I prefer. It still pisses me off thinking about it and the fact that I smelled like an ashtray when we left. I mean large clouds from my 91%....really??? Ugh....I swear! I guess I'm lucky I didn't choose to fire up my new Magma RDA rocking a dual coil sub ohm set up. Anyone else get friendly or unfriendly nudges or warnings about your vapor production when vaping in a vape safe area?
  17. When I first began with mods I used a kick as I was still not good enough with coil building and didnt have much confidence with the limits of my batteries. Now that I am more experienced I do not use my kick anymore as I just build to get the wattage that I want to vape at. Personally speaking I think a kick is a great way for newer vapers who want to get into mods but are a little on the inexperienced side. But I'm sure there are plenty of vetran vapers who use a kick all the time with a mod. I still like to buy mods that have the option of using a kick and I would love to see the day that someone comes out with a 30-50 watt kick, because I would buy one in a heartbeat.
  18. Very nice Bushwick...very very nice builds. My 28ga kanthal 8/7 wrap coming out at .8ohms gives me the best flavor. The 7/6 wrap at .5 is just a wee bit hot for me. The 8/7 is the limit (length wise) imo for my 91%.
  19. Seems put out some decent clouds for this style of tank.
  20. This is interesting. Thoughts? http://www.joyetech.com/product/details.php?gno=187
  21. My Wood Fairy Mod and Copper Viggo both arrived yesterday in the mail. Wife departs for Europe today. I know its cutting it close but thank God they both arrived before she leaves. Now for me to get out of Baghdad in 3 days time to meet up with her and the boy......................and my vape mail (which includes 500ml of juice, various kanthal wire sizes, a Kayfun lite black edition v3 and an authentic Magma). I think I should be good until I get back to Fl in August.
  22. I did not order the drip tip this go around. I will see if I can pick it up in August. I also plan on getting some rda/rba's gold plated when I get back as well to start matching things up. As far as the idea's WOW. As twisted420 would say that's a metric **** ton. hahaha I really like the ivory, stacked leather, and stingray but getting ones hand on Ivory and stingray is probably difficult (I will research it later). All the sleeves I will get done will be through a professional as I don't have neither the skills nor equipment. Thanks again for all the idea's.
  23. Antler, Ivory, and Damascus titanium! That's the spirit...OMG....keep those idea's coming. I love it. I was excited when I bought it...you all have tripled that excitement.
