I went to visit my dad today and he's been vaping a bit for two weeks or so. He's 72 and been a smoker for around 60 years so he's been weaning himself off of analogs. He bought a regular ego kit last year (batts, Atty, cartridge and cone). It lasted about 2 months and it wasn't working for him. He recently went to the Dr and got a clean bill of health except for the start of emphysema and high BP. So now he's all about it. This time he got an ego with CE5's kit and 100 mils of 0 nic juice. He's excited and can't wait to quit analogs. I'm so proud of him. He said he wants to be around another 20 years so he's go to do something to quit.

Pickled Ginger is a great palette cleanser too. This is why you find a small dish of it at all the Sushi restaurants. It is meant to eat a piece of pickled ginger between different sushi rolls.

    Hi All

I just wanted to outline my journey converting to Ecigs in an effort to help others get rid of analogs..

I have been a pack a day smoker for 32 years, I have gone through the patches, gum, drugs, and even hypnosis in many attempts to quit. I was getting so bad I thought quitting was going to be another career for me. Everything I attempted lasted no more than a week.

Patches never conquered the oral fixation and they just hurt to wear and remove. The gum tasted like crap and left me feeling lightheaded and sick. Hypnosis worked for a day but then I found myself fighting the cravings all over again..

I year ago I found the Ecig, what a great idea it addresses all the learned habits of smoking, the oral fixation the hit of the smoke, the nic addiction, and I can even still go outside if I want and act like it's an analog.

I tried to enter the ecig lifestyle a year ago by buying a greensmoke start set, I had problems right off the bat, batteries would not give me enough juice to last a day and the carts were not strong enough to make me stop analogs, I quickly switched to Blu so I could have a travel charger and take multiple batteries with me.. I thought I had reached the solution but problems quickly arose.. I could never get a decent hit from the carts, they tasted like crap and could never get enough nic to break the analog habit. After a couple of weeks the batteries started to die and I found myself leaving them behind and staying with analogs.... Oh well another attempt failed...

A couple of weeks ago I decided to try E cigs again, When I purchased Blu last year I was also looking at V2. This time I decided to start with V2, "20/20 hindsight I wish I would have found Vapor Talk before buying V2". My attempt this time was much better than my 1st attempt. V2 gave me the option to use other juices and the batteries lasted all day. I was able to get a good hit from them and they did remove all my cravings, I gave up analogs within 4 days and have been analog free since Feb 28th.

I have since moved to Ego with a clearomizor and a whole new world has opened up. Thank you all for helping us noobs and I know that this a new life of vaping not smoking.

I hope this helps others looking to move to vaping, the only thing I wish I did differently this time was to start with the Ego set. V2 did do the trick but restrict the vaping options available.

Hey all, just started vaping about a week ago, and so far haven't touched nor cravaed an analog. Bought an eGo-C Upgrade battery with a clearomizer to get started and I am loving it. Just ordered some more stuff online (liquids, clearomizers, liquids, accessories, etc.) as it is a bit cheaper than getting it in person. Looking forward to talking with you all.

Ever have one of those perfect vaping moments? You come home from work, the mailman leaves you a package containing your favorite juice and some brand new atty's/carto's of your choice. You sit In your favorite chair, the kids are getting along, the hubs is happy, and you are enjoying a perfect vape of the flavor you love best. Ahhh, bliss

Life's too short to not enjoy the little things

Yes, indeed. I am not smoking analogs anymore, My sense of smell has already returned, as well as my sense of taste. No, there are no ill feelings towards smokers because I can fully put myself in their shoes. If I didn't find the world of vapor, then I would undoubtedly still be there myself.

I like the ego series, however, my boyfriend is very concerned with having the most cigarette-like product himself (he is old and stubborn! lol) so he sticks with the Blu. They are the most user friendly, when I smoked blu I had no idea what cart or atties or any of that were. I just had the battery to charge and cartidges to replace ever so often. It was nice. Now I smoke the Joyetech Ego-c, and I am still constantly having to ask questions and experiment with things but I will say it's cheaper and has a better quality vapor than Blu produced in my opinion, though my boyfriend disagrees with that.

I agree with Synther and Ninjabat. Don't think you got the chest cold from Blu cigs. And I think going with the eGo models is a better place to start off. They've been around awhile and are still a go to device for me.

Vision Spinner or Ego twist will get you further if you don't need a 'cigarette-shaped device'.
Variable voltage will give you that "kick" some e-juices need.
And mega-welcome from a fellow Pennsylvanian, welcome to VT!!

Edit: I DID get a headache the first time I ever used an e-cig.
It was a gas station disposable and I think it was too much nicotine.
I agree with Synther you can't blame the e-cig when you get a virus.

The turn off for me was the battery life, as Viper Ron stated, but also a lot of the reviews that I had read on the quality of the overall kit. I've heard that the rubberized tip that holds the Blu battery in place in the charging pack wears out and you can no longer charge your battery. Also, Blu markets their cartomizers as being disposable. In reality, you can refill them but from all the reviews that I read, you can only do so about three times due to the poor quality of the atomizer inside the cart. The only option with the Blu eCig is the automatic battery, which in addition to not being sealed I find to be harder to draw on than a real cigarette. You have to take a long and slow drag to get good vapor on an automatic battery (says the guy that is vaping on an automatic battery Fifty-One Duo right now...). With a manual battery, you can press and hold the button to heat up the atomizer for a second before you take a drag on it, which produces good vapor and you don't have to suck your face inside out to get the vapor you wanted in the first place. All of this combined sold me on the DSE901 over the Blu, and at about $25 cheaper with the discount code through site that I got it at.

Synther you may want to let your juice steep for a few days. I always wait 4-7 days from when i received it before i start vaping it to get the real flavor experience.

Hello my name is Mike I am 58 years old, have been a smoker all my life. I lost 80% of my left lung in 2000 from lung cancer. I was able to quit smoking for about eight months after my surgery. At that point I had a weak moment and thought I would have a cigarette! I guess it goes without saying that one cigarette was all it took and I was smoking again.
A week ago today I bought a Ego-CTwist, I am pleased to say that since I purchased my e-cigarette I only had three cigarettes. I am very excited at the prospect that this will replace the bad habit that I've had for so long in my life. I enjoy the taste the convenience and knowing that I'm not getting all the other carcinogens and poisons that were in regular cigarettes. Keep your fingers crossed for me folks! I would love to see my grandson grow.

I'm vaping constantly. It seems like much more so than I smoked. My fiancee and I got small cases for our eCigs to make it a little more like a regular smoking experience. That's helped me curb the urge to have it in my hand or mouth all the time, but I still find myself using it far more often than I would have ever reached for a cigarette. The flip side of it is that you aren't tied to the burn duration of a cigarette. So, you take two to five puffs, set it down and do something else before coming back to it for another two to five puffs. If you set an analog cigarette down for this length of time, it will smoke itself and you wasted a cigarette. Therefore, I'm estimating that overall, I'm likely vaping about the same amount that I actually smoked...it's just that it seems like more because my eCig doesn't waste itself or grow shorter over a period of time.

Tried my best friend's eVic tonight while we were out for sushi. This thing is freaking awesome. Set it for 10v and it spews out vapor like a VW Bug with no muffler. It's really cool how you can dial in the settings just the way you want. Highly recommended.

I bought my K-808 starter kit at Goodejuice.com for 35 bucks with two manual batteries, because I too wanted something that "feels" like a cigarette as far as it can. I augmented this set with the bloog automatic batteries, they have a sale right now ,20 bucks for four. I like the manual batteries because you can press the button and if you wait a second it produces more vapor than the automatic that only warm up when you suck on them. However, the automatic are much more convenient if you drive, for example. The also had a personal charger on sale at bloog, which is a good thing when you are not near a computer, so you don't run out of battery power.

The V2 is also a 808, so its on the expensive side with 65 dollars. But you could use their cartos if you don't want to fill yourself - however, as has been said, prefilled ones are a bit hit and miss. I was a bit hesitant about filling myself, but I must say in the last 3 days I kind of figured it out (did everything from not enough juice to the juice dripping out of the carto, so it takes some fine tuning and some experience to estimate how much juice you vape out per personal use) and its super easy. I just have my little drip bottle with me, unhook the cap every couple of hours, put some ejuice in, and good to go again. And it will never taste dry.
The batteries last me about a day of use before having to recharge - however, I was only a half a pack a day smoker before, so that might not be the typical use. They take about 4 hours to recharge.
Hope this helps you a bit!
